After ten years scouring The Wastes, Darcy Lewis thought she'd seen everything the wreckage of inland America has to offer. Seeking the trail of dirty magic a lone Shade leaves behind is old hat now. Setting up the traps to bait them into and tear apart their magic is so predictable it’s almost boring. Darcy never thought a job like hers could get boring, but hey, apparently there’s a first time for everything.
Then again, ever since the world turned to shit, most first times have been and gone.
Or so she'd thought.

Summary
Darcy doesn’t know Natasha Romanov very well.
It’s not as though they’re in the wrong circles- Darcy’s fast friends with Clint, and over the years has warmed to Phil (despite Jane’s misgivings)- but Natasha has always remained a slightly aloof presence. Mildly terrifying and terrifyingly beautiful, she drifts through her life like a basking shark, circling but never drawing in for the kill.
Of course, that doesn’t stop Darcy from admiring the woman; especially tonight, watching with appreciation as the older woman decks a man twice her size for an unfortunately-made comment about Darcy’s breasts.
