Summary
It’s hard, at times, to keep playing at ignorance when the intrepid little moron dumps out the entire bundle of his sleek, downy-soft pelt in search of a new quill, but if he isn’t going to bring it up, Geralt’s certainly not going to pry, even though he does have to prompt the bard surreptitiously more than a few times when the flighty little pest evidently forgets all about his pelt and moves to happily trot along on his way, his freedom left behind in the dust. It’s a fine line Geralt walks, playing dumb while hyper-aware of the situation, but he manages to hold his peace and remain silent even when he wants to scold the selkie to be fucking careful. The bard babbles along at length throughout the day enough without prompting; gods forfend Geralt give him any sign of encouragement for more.
Still, despite Geralt’s best efforts, he finds that the selkie–who has chosen Jaskier as his name of all things–is growing on him.
It is, in a few words, fucking obnoxious.
(Jaskier is a selkie who is absolutely HORRIFIC at keeping up with his pelt) (lucky, then, that he has a witcher to do it for him)

Summary
He moves at once to Ciri, kneeling and looking her over. Without context, he’s not sure what he’s looking for, but she seems sound.
“Are you hurt?” He asks, cupping her face and examining her from head to toe. She looks afraid and tear tracks are still drying on her face, but he can’t pick up any scent of pain or blood. She shakes her head. He turns to Yen. “What happ-”
He’s interrupted by a low whimper, and a breeze from an opened window carries a scent to him that he knows is Jaskier’s, but it’s wrong, somehow, sharper and more oceanic than he usually smells. He turns to the source.
It’s a seal pup, cowering beneath the lower shelf of a storage wall.
(after a potion accident, selkie!jaskier is de-aged) (this becomes a problem VERY QUICKLY)

Summary
“Are you sure he has to be in water?”
Eskel’s question is almost drowned out beneath the piercing shrieks of the seal pup currently vocalizing like he’s being dealt a slow and torturous death instead of dipped gingerly into the coolest of the hot springs. Aiden and Lambert are maintaining their positions nearby, but Geralt can see the same tension in their muscles that he feels in his own, the urge to flee from the painful pitch of the baby’s screams. All four witchers wince when Jaskier tilts his tiny snout back and manages to hit an even higher note, a warbling cry of desperation.

Summary
When they first burst into the man’s bedroom, Jaskier catches sight of a woman’s shift neatly folded over the back of a chair in the corner, but it’s not as if it’s the first time he’s taken someone to bed when they’re already spoken for. The heart wants what it wants, after all, and it’s not like Jaskier would be opposed to her joining in the fun if she’s keen.
Then, shoved by the man, he moves close to a chest and feels a prickle throughout his body.
A familiar, marrow-deep knowing fills him, an understanding that he could never verbalize.
There is a selkie’s pelt in that chest.
(Jaskier accidentally starts seducing people in order to free other selkies) (could have happened to anyone, honest)

Summary
“We can leave,” his witcher says, no trace of judgment in his tone, no condemnation of Jaskier’s weakness. He could leave, he knows. Geralt would let him and would never bring it up again, no matter how much time they’d wasted getting here.
The knowledge lets him give Geralt a tremulous smile.
“I can do this,” he says, and Geralt leans over, giving him a soft, sweet kiss.
“I don’t doubt it, but if you want to leave, we leave,” Geralt tells him, pressing their foreheads together briefly. “I don’t care if it’s the middle of the service, and we have to jump over the coffin,” Jaskier laughs wetly at this, “we leave when you want to.”
Jaskier closes his eyes briefly and leans more into the contact.
“I love you,” he says, voice only a little strained.
Geralt kisses him once more and then pulls back, leading them on.
(Jaskier is called back to Lettenhove to attend a funeral) (blessedly this time he has Geralt with him)
