“Yeah, I’m fine.” I see her flinch and grab her whole wrist in her hand.“…ok, if you're sure?” It’s quiet for a moment as she refuses to meet my eyes.
“Well, I guess I'll just be on my way then…” I turn slowly and walk back down two flights of stairs and into the basement.
*Something is definitely wrong with her arms.*

Summary

“What…?” I whisper and step up to the window.
With the sky illuminated by the small cracks of lightning, I can see what looks like a giant bird.
As soon as I saw it, it was gone.
‘Must have been my imagination…’
BOOM
I jump, startled by the loud cracks of thunder that rattles my house and the forest around it. I shield my eyes as a lightning bolt follows it.
Blinking a couple of times to clear the spots from my eyes, I look back up to the still-lit sky.
It’s blurred from the rain, but I can clearly see what looks like a person- a devil? -floating in the middle of the lightning strike.
“WHAT THE FU-????”
