Other people do not feel as if they were getting attacked on every single fucking front when they are in the middle of a crowd. They don’t feel as if every sound had the purpose of destroying you, and every light, the purpose of blinding you. That every food, except a very small selection of favourites, was trying to poison you, and some sensations were trying to burn your skin. But he did. And he had to live with it. He had to put up a front, and act as if everything was fine.
