Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

Well, nothing she can do until the Old Gods hear her desperate plea and send her back to Winterfell months before King Robert stepped foot in the North. Now all the “what ifs” she’s spent contemplating are possible and she’s promised the Old Gods she would do anything to save her family and the people of the North even if that meant staining her honor, allying with old enemies, or entering yet another unwanted marriage.
Or the one in which the Old Gods have zero tact and Sansa is determined to keep the game of thrones from ruining her family or the North.

“What are you doing?” Jinx yells, her voice suddenly coming alive. Panic and confusion war in her eyes as she twists to look at him, the wind stealing her voice as soon as it escapes her mouth. “This was only supposed to be me!”
“Yeah, well,” Ekko shouts back, heart in his throat. “I couldn’t let you leave me again.”
He reaches for the pull string one more time as the floor rises up faster and faster. He grips onto her with all of his strength, and prays that the anomaly will have enough juice to save them both. As he finally pulls he doesn’t notice the crack running up the side of the glass, or the ominous tick as his stopwatch ticks past the red line he’d drawn with one of Powder’s oil crayons.
Pull. Reverse.
OR
Ekko accidentally brings him and Jinx back to before it all began. Now, they have to struggle to fix the mistakes of the past while figuring out how to heal. But, hey, at least they're together.
