Living alone in an apartment big enough for five. It’s closing your eyes and inhaling the crisp spring air, only to remember war-scorched skies and the metallic scent of blood. Passing by a laughing group of strangers, only to hear screams for help. Watching your colleagues around you either get married or fall apart—there’s no in-between. It’s an itch that you can’t scratch out of your skin, where old lacerations have amassed on epidermis. The ringing in your ears that doesn’t go away no matter how many times you’ve changed your hearing aids.
It’s sleeplessness even when your body is so exhausted, because your mind is on overdrive. Yesteryear’s failures are monsters breathing under your bed. The friends you let slip, the lives you couldn’t save.

Twenty years later, Katsuki rescues Izuku from a villain attack. As they rebuild their friendship from scratch, he learns what it means to be a hero.

Half an hour after Kirishima had left, there was a knock on the door. Katsuki had a beer in his hand and walked over to the door. Mumbling under his breath, “fucking shitty hair forgot his fucking keys again..” to himself.
Katsuki opened the door, he looked from the dripping wet Kirishima to the equally soaked male he had gone to pick up. When he saw the familiar tangle of green hair and freckles, he choked on his drink. “The fuck…?” he half whispered.

Summary
“Anyone can see that whoever took this picture was just aiming for a poor imitation of Yagi-sensei’s work,” he says, loud enough for the surrounding spectators to hear. Six pairs of eyes turn to look his way, but none of them challenge his declaration.
“You think so?” A voice chirrups next to him.
Katsuki had not noticed the short green haired boy, with large, emerald eyes and a cute befreckled face joining the group. His tone had been void of malice or spite, but something about the way he looks at Katsuki feels like a challenge.
“Yeah,” answers the blonde, “I think so.”
“Hmm,” the boy leans back on his heels, his gaze averting to study the image as well, “I can see why you would think that. He is my mentor after all.”
In which Katsuki and Midoriya both go to school for photography, and Katsuki misunderstands Izuku in more ways than one.
