Chapter Text

Everything was going well. At least Paloma thought so. The stranger was still… not warming up to her the way she wanted him to, but it was all going to be fine.

Past friends told her that she was special and nice. And that was always good. Even the friends that left her said that she was the kindest soul they ever met.

“Hey!” The stranger blew his bangs out of his eyes. “Try this on.”

He was holding some kind of pelt from something soft.

“Uh…” Paloma said. “What is that?”

“I call it… clothes.” He handed them to her. “For your decency.”

“My decency? What do I do with this?” Paloma held it up to look at it more closely. It was orange, with dark stripes wrapping around it.

“You put it on yourself. It also keeps you warm; it gets cold here.” The stranger helped up another piece of pelt, but it was white instead of orange. “These are my clothes.”

“Um…” She looked at the pelt one more time. “I'm good, don't you know that's why my hair is so long?” Indeed, Paloma had curly light blonde hair that went down to about her belly button, and the sole purpose she kept it so long was to keep her warm.

“Hair won't do anything; these are from my creatures whom I created specifically to defeat the cold months.” The stranger pointed to the pelt Paloma had. “That's from, what I like to call, a tiger.”

“Wait, wait! Let me get this straight. You create your children, then kill them?! All because you want to be just a little warmer?!” Paloma threw the pelt off of her. “I will NOT be wearing this, thank you!”

The stranger scowled at me. “Look, this is MY planet! Therefore you follow my rules!”

“Well, I feel I will be most unhappy here then!” Paloma sat up. “Sorry for the inconvenience I caused you!”

“Okay, great, go!” The stranger turned and flew away. “And good riddance!”

Paloma scoffed. The nerve of that guy. Does he really think I'll give up that easily? If he wants to play like a dickhead, then I'll play dirty…

Paloma knew exactly what she needed to do.

What an annoying mini god…

The Stranger was flying to his cave, where he lived alone. He had a wolf pelt for a bed, to which he plopped himself down.

“Ugh!” He groaned. “Why can't the sheep just leave me alone!”

He knew the answer. The mini gods were attracted to him because of the power he had. He was like honey to a bear, except the bear was selfish sheep. And the whole reason he had so much power was that he wasn't created. He was born. With careful, considerate hands, his father stitched him up from nothing but a life orb.

A life orb he stole from The Angel of Great Life himself.

His father was… troublesome to say the least. He threw away his whole life to dark magic. And that was what The Stranger was made up of. The strongest magic there could be. It coursed through his veins like a virus, making his heart pump with malicious pleasure. It was all he knew.

He could taste it on his tongue as he opened his mouth to speak. His scent smelled like burnt flames. And his claws and teeth were sharper than they needed to be.

He was a monster, and he was perfectly okay with that.

If that weird sheep came back, he would murder her. He would grab her throat and watch her struggle until she was still and her face purple. He might shed a tear as he did so, considering that's exactly how his father went. Because The Stranger was a monster, and he was completely okay with that.

He was always okay with that.

Paloma had a plan. A plan so great it almost made her giddy.

Okay, maybe she was intruding. But if The Stranger was going to be such an asshole, then she would be too.

She used her magic to make a small baby ewe. The baby was crying, and Paloma couldn't blame her. Imagine you were helpless in a big world; Paloma would almost start crying too.

She tickled the baby, which let out a little giggle, before planting her in the ground.

She needs to be one with the land; don't worry, I bet the roots of the trees will take wonderful care of you.

Paloma would take care of the baby herself. But she had lots to do, and little time to do it.

Once she is grown and ready, she will emerge as a new being.

She was excited to see how her first young one would grow up to be.

She planted a weeping willow by the place she planted her young, just to make sure she was all taken care of. It would make the process faster, and the Stranger would discover her anytime now.

If you make yourself a planet, you are connected to it. Which means that the Sheep Stranger can feel everything that happens here. So he is definitely aware I'm still here.

But she can distract him long enough before he can do anything.

There's no stopping her now.

So she created another baby, a baby ram, and planted him next to the baby ewe.

The first life will take off after they've grown old enough to create their offspring.

Paloma felt proud of herself. It was such a big deal that she finally had a whole world that was… well, half created by her.

And what's that stranger going to do? Kill them?

Okay, maybe, but not if Paloma can stop him.

Now she just had to wait.

And wait.

And wait.

And…

He wasn't there yet. Odd. He should have been aware by now.

Suddenly Paloma heard an ear-piercing cry. She turned and saw her two creations above the ground.

“Wait…” Paloma mumbled. “What is going on?”

Did the ground just reject them?

Did that stranger do that?

Paloma looked towards the sky. “Oh, you’re gonna play that game, huh? Wait till I find you! WAIT TILL I…”

“Are you stupid or something?” The stranger was behind her, with his arms crossed.

“YOU!!!” Paloma growled. “LET ME GROW MY BEINGS HERE!!!”

The Stranger raised an eyebrow. “It’s not my fault; you're the one intruding on my land.”

“Well, I just thought I would force my way in here, since you're so rude.” Paloma shook her head. “But it takes great power to reject life like that.”

“Yeah… right…” The Stranger sighed. “Look, I’ve been thinking, maybe it would be nice to have such a friendly face around.”

“Um…” Paloma blinked. “What?”

“Come…” The Stranger grabbed her hand. “Let me show you where you’ll be sleeping.”

Notes:

I traced the image from a actual screaming goat on google, I'm working on my art so it may not look the best but hope you guys enjoy :D

(The image is supposed to be The Stranger screaming at you)
