The sun is a star and the moon admires its glow, almost acting as a disco ball using the sun’s stray rays to copy it, the moon feels bad for taking advantage of the sun rays but the sun doesn’t mind ‘it’s fine I already have so many you can borrow some’ that makes the moon like the sun even more. Even if the moon tries not to, they can’t help but to fall for the sun.
“A-Adrian!” Adrian whips his head toward the sound not very used to his civilian name yet, but when he spots her he smiles, his friend, his moon Marinette. “Hey Mari!” Adrian calls out, he runs towards her, at the eiffel tower when the sun sets and the moon rises their meeting point, why they decided to meet here is still a mystery to Marinette. While on a roof top they sit together and silence fills the air then “why Paris?” Marinette asks again and to her surprise Adrian actually gives a real answer this time “it has a nice vibe, well compared to other places it’s calmer…”
Before Marinette can ask another question Adrian ands to his answer with a mouth full “-And have the best food!!” for a couple minutes Marinette just looked at Adrian with a blank stare, making Adrian very aware that he had just interrupted Marinette “Oh s-sorry Mari what were you gon-” but then Marinette is laughing so hard that tears are rolling down her cheeks stunning Adrian for a second then laughing with her.
After a few seconds Marinette calms down enough to say “I don’t think I have ever laughed that hard, or at all even, You are such a dork!” Adrian just remarks with “sure i am, but you chose to hang out with me sooo-” Marinette cuts him off with “because only you and I can travel on earth doesn’t mean I don’t have other friends, the stars and I talk when we can’t dumbo!”
‘Other friends…? Why would she need other friends when she has me, I’m a star too but better! I’m brighter and bigger and give light to all humans! So why did it sting so much for her to have other friends? Who are these other friends anywho, they can’t be better than me-’ Adrian's thoughts were cut short when Marinette asked “H-hey Adrian are you ok you’re making a face?” Almost immediately Adrian said “YEP! Yep all good I’m fine, just thinking…” trailing off Adrian adds “W-whats up mari!” sensing something wrong Marinette quietly says “soon we have to leave, the sun is lowering and the moon rising…but is there something you want to tell me, o-or ask me?”
Caught off guard Adrian just looks at Marinette for what seems like longer than just a minute “D-would you still be my friend i-if it wasn’t just because of the conveniences it gives?” “w-what is that supposed to mean?” Marinette asks in great confusion, “Nothing, forget it” Adrian remarks
Before Marinette can ask more they are transported with a beam, Marinette to the moon, Adrian the sun. Marinette just sits and doesn't do anything for a good minute until she hears “girl you good?” Alya, a star and one of her best friends, turning towards her, she begins telling her about what happened with the occasional “No!” or “he said that?” When Marinette finishes Alya goes silent for a second then bursting out with “WHAT WAS THAT?! Not about you mari, but what kind of question is that?? ‘oH yEaH, aM I An InCoNvEnEnCe To YoU’ what was that about??” Marinette starts laughing and saying “I-I D-don’t know!” both girls curling over in fits of laughter.
When Adrian got transported he just sat and thought while looking at the moon until its out of his line of sight thinking ‘what’s wrong with me asking a question like that now Mari probable hates me she’ll probs just ignore me when we go to paris, What if she goes somewhere else instead of paris just so she wont see my face because of that?! Aaaahhhhh!! Nooooo my only frien- what is that? Is that a star? Is that one of Mari’s friends? Their talking…no laughing’ “That was only one minute to start laughing for that ‘star’. How come it took more time for her to laugh for me, and why do I care so much about this??”
While normally Marinette borrows some rays from Adrian to give off a shine she doesn’t today ‘Ugh! It's so dark here today! But I still don’t know what Adrian meant with that one question so it’ll just be awkward, but I do miss him NO! He might hate me if I did that and not answer his question yet so I’ll just sit in darkness until I understand his question! Yeah! That's what I’ll do!’ when in reality she sewed almost the whole night with stray rays traveling through space, making a more approachable look for her when she goes back to earth, Adrian hums as it’s almost time to go back to earth ‘Marinette didn’t come to borrow rays today, is it because of me? Hopefully Mari is fine with the darkness tonight, or maybe Mari's friend told her to.’ that thought made Adrian boil although still not knowing why Adrian wanted Mari to himself for all of eternity just them noone else.
When they meet again Marinette is worried but really wants to see Adrian again to see if she can make sense of the ‘big’ question he had asked her before, “Adrian, Adrian? Where are you?” Marinette cannot find Adrian anywhere, not near the eiffel tower, not near that pastry shop he likes so much, not anywhere in Paris! ‘Where can he be? Unless!’ Marinette thought to herself, then in a sudden realization exclaiming “Ofcource!” then going back to the moon temporarily to get the right equipment to “borrow” bread, specifically the bread Adrian adores the most going back to earth she yells at the sun waving bread around, though Marinette is also being quiet not to wake not wanted attention
Adrian sulks on the sun thinking how he is such a better friend to Marinette, basically comparing himself to someone he doesn’t know but already hates. Looking down at earth as he sees Mari? Looking around, oh going to the moon, wait going back to earth? What's happening? She is holding something what though, is-is that bread? Alright fuck it he is going down there for two reasons the bread, so he isn’t bored waiting for this time to end, and (ok I lied three reasons) to know what Mari is doing.
‘Oh! Yay, I got his attention!’ Marinette thought practically jumping in enthusiasm, with Adrian’s big tired green eyes Marinette almost faints as she hands him the bread “so?” Adrian asks, pulling her head out from the clouds “w-what was that?” Mari feels bad asking but what was she going to say she wasn’t listening! “C’mere” is the only thing Adrian said before grabbing Marinette forming a light beam from a stray light ray and using it as a pole to a nearby balcony, when grabbed Marinette gasped shutting her eyes until she felt a solid surface under her finally opening her eyes Mari found herself on a balcony
“Wha-whats with the balcony?”
“Oh, uhh…” Adrian muttered something about privacy ending with “from ‘certain’ stars” that's unusual. What's with stars? Hesitantly Mari asked “wha- whats with the stars?” Adrian almost jumped when being asked not realizing he had said that out loud quickly trying to smooth it over with “oh! Uhh nothing just had a bad relation with one hehe”
‘Bad relation?’ “Would you care to share their name?” Marinette asked, not convinced ‘uh oh not good!’
Stuttering Adrian adds “I-I don’t know the stars names so they’ll be off the hook for now oh darn!” raising her eyebrow Marinette says “describe them then what did they look like I know every star not just by name but by description too”
Adrian was visibly sweating now unsure what to say, finally after what felt like a lifetime Adrian sighed and stated “okay you got me no star had made me not like stars directly…” “But?”
Closing his eyes Adrian admits “but, I did get a bit jealous that you had other friends when I don’t and you hanging with others made it hard for me to want all of my time with you to be special, but I was scared you would hate me, so I basically acted like a dragon had locked me in a tower with no key and…you are my sh-shining armor…” a pause to long not to go unnoticed
Opening his eyes he sees Marinette just sitting there still, like a statue “uhh, Mari?” a red flush covers Marinette’s face eyes going wider then humanly possible
“Marine-” Adrian was cut off with a screaming Marinette stating “I THINK YOU LOOK CUTE!! I-I mean uhm y-you look nice not cute, but I’m not saying you’re not cute but you’re not-not cute sorry that's not what I meant-” Adrian laughed at Marinette’s stuttering “s-soryy! It’s just HAHA you-you kept trying to make me happy and make-make it not obvious abo-about you’re crus-HAHA-CRUSH on me!! HAHAHA”
“Wha-it was that obvious? Then why didn’t you say anything?” that made Adrian pause for a moment then said “well because I wanted you to confess first, duh!” like it was obvious
Marinette’s face turned a bit back to normal still with reddened cheeks(I swear if i have to specify if it's on their face or backside I will just rot like a zombie!) “oh, uhh sooo…do you wanna get coffee some time i-If we can find human currency for it! If not then, a small tip around the cosmos, maybe can get you a friend so you’re not alone without me! If you want ofcourse! N-no pressure obviously!”
Adrian just smiles before saying “yes I would like that very much, my Mari<3”
