I Have a Message for You

Summary:

A little story about the agents making their own recordings and finding their own understanding of the agency.

Something to do with the other characters besides the Nelsons in the story of Shiloh and Bros.

Notes:

Alex's chapter was actually the first one I wrote, because I actually wasn't sure where to start lol.

Still this turned out nicely, so here we are.

Chapter 1: I Got a Story for You(Alex)

Chapter Text

There were many reasons to take a job at the M.O.M Agency, and well Alex really chose it for at first just the fact that he got paid and his skill got used.

Little did he know that he would be allowed to head out on more field missions and get a chance to see a little more of the Realoverse.

Sometimes his mom worried about him, and so he was constantly just visiting her when he had off days and heading out on missions.

Most of the time though he spent a lot of his days working on the machines or making sure things stayed working around the agency.

During these times he simply placed in some earbuds and worked to some music while others bustled around him.

It was on a peculiar day though that Judah sought him out with the biggest grin on his face.

“Alex, buddy, you want to be a part of a small project?”
He had asked that day.

Alex pulled his earbuds and pocketed them.

“Sure, is it about the rafters, Josiah said that he was going to get to them one of these days?”

Judah shook his head, “No, if anything I’m pretty sure that he’s taking care of that now.” than looking a little more serious he pulled out a small recording device from his pocket.

“I want you to record some stuff on this for mom, Shiloh said that it would probably be a good idea for others to get a chance to speak to her.”

Taking the device from his friend, Alex stared at it for a moment.

“Like, do I just record this and give it to Shiloh? Because I don’t really know what to say to Mrs.Nelson you know.”

Judah shrugged.

“I know you’ll figure something out buddy, I got a job, but if you want I can pick it up later.”

With that he was gone, almost running down the halls, shouting for Micah about being late.

Alex himself stood alone in the hall as he glanced down at the little recorder.

“Okay Alex, this shouldn’t be that hard.”

—----------------------------------------------------------

Apparently, it was that hard.

For the last three hours Alex had been pacing about his room trying to figure out what he would even say to the Nelsons’ mother.

He had wanted to start it off simply, but then he would backtrack and be left at square one again.

Now he was about to give up and hand it back to Judah, when a thought came to him.

What if he just didn’t think about it that much?

It's like Mrs.Nelson was going to come from the rift to tell him how bad his recording was, so he wasn’t going to be dumb about it.

Picking up the device, he clicked the small button that made it possible to record.

“Hi, my name is Alex, I’m sure Shiloh probably mentioned me once or twice in her previous messages and I just wanted to pass something along to you that was from me personally.”

Alex paused there for a moment, that was a good start, maybe this wasn’t as hard he thought this was going to be.

As he went to continue though, his door was thrown open by Josiah looking absolutely frightened.

“Alex, I need some help, turns out there were raccoons in the rafters and they’ve figured out how to use weapons!”

Without explaining any further than that, the black wearing Nelson brother was out again, shouting a battle cry at whatever lay down the hall.

Sighing, he grabbed one of the grabber tools around the room and headed out to help him.

“I’ll talk to you later.”

Later turned out to be two days later, where Alex was sitting alone in the kitchen, having a snack and telling the recording about the raccoon incident.

“Turns out the raccoons had a king named David which got killed during one of Josiah’s explosions a couple weeks back and we finally made peace with them, so there really aren't any raccoons in the rafters anymore.”

He signed off with that, about to think about something else when Judah strolled in, a small bandage around one of his fingers.

“Alex, it's great to see you, how’s your recording going?”

He asked, snatching a sandwich from his plate and went on eating it while Alex merely shrugged.

“Pretty good actually, I just finished so if you want to take it for Shiloh, it's more than done.”

Judah nodded, picking up the recording and looking over the little device.

“Awesome, I’ll pass this Shiloh in a little bit.”

Then he looked around the place.

“Did Elijah clean the kitchen recently? It looks a little cleaner than normal.”

Alex huffed out a laugh.

“No, that was me and Josiah yesterday after cleaning up after the raccoon kingdom we fought.”

Judah’s eyes widened at the information.

“Racoon kingdom? You got to tell me what happened, can’t believe that I missed this.”

Alex nodded, and jumped back into the story, that he had just finished telling the recording.

“Okay, so two days ago Josiah apparently was cleaning out the rafters-.”

A week later Shiloh found him working underneath one of the consoles in the Arxis room with a small frown on her face.

“Alex, did you record something on one of these?”
She asked, holding up the device, not looking a bit upset, just curious more than anything.

“Yeah, Judah suggested I do it.”

He said, slipping out from underneath the console.

Shiloh nodded at the information, seeming to already understand.

“I didn’t actually ask him to do that, I only suggested that everyone should get a chance to put a message in, so um thank you.”

She said that just as she stepped forward to enter through the Arxis to the rift, where she was going to pass the message Alex made to their mom.

He couldn’t help but smile.

“It's cool, um, if you don’t mind, can I do it again sometime?”

Alex asked, nervously fussing with two wires.

The young girl nodded.

“Yeah, I think it would be great.”

And then she was gone, off to place the daily and weekly records that she and now Alex had made.

He couldn’t stop the smile on his face for the rest of the week.

When he had gone home for the night, he made sure to tell his mom about his little record and she was more than glad to know that Alex was in the agency as she did here.
