Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Code Six

Chapter Text

[Y/N POV – Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center]

Walking in the entrance of the care center, you headed over to the main desk. Looking around, not a soul was to be seen which was very unusual for this place. You rang to bell and waited, wondering what was going on.

Maybe they were really busy tonight. As you were about to ring the bell again, an alarm sounded. "CODE SIX, INITIATE EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS."

"Code six?" You thought to yourself. Good thing you had your gun with you. You made your way upstairs, only for a door to open and a young woman to come crawling underneath. Before you could reach the top of the stairs, some creature came from the doorway and grabbed the young woman.

You ran up the stairs as quickly as you could, a man running from the hall across from where the woman was dragged. You and him entered the dark hallway and fired your guns at the creature.

"Hey, over here." The man called out. The woman quickly moved to her feet and ran over to you, you and the man began firing at the monster, eventually blowing its head open. The monster fell to the floor and you walked out into the light along with the woman who was breathing heavily.

"You ok?" The man asked.

"Y-y-y-Yeah. Thanks." The woman replied.

"And you?" The man asked you.

"Fine. You DSO?" You asked.

"How'd you know?" The man asked.

"I was with them for a while. Got one of those standard issue revolvers too." You replied, showing your revolver to him in its holster. "You are?"

"Leon Kennedy." Leon replied.

"I-I'm Grace, Um... Ashcroft. Uh, FBI." Grace replied.

"FBI? What're you doing here?" Leon asked.

"Someone kidnapped me." Grace answered.

"Victor Gideon?" Leon asked.

"Victor Gideon? Why would he kidnap someone, especially an FBI agent?" You asked.

"I-I don't know." Grace replied, averting her gaze.

"Well we should leave." Leon said. Before he could exit the dark hallway, a gate closed the exit. More gates sealed the windows and exits around the main room of the care center. Then a small wall began to close off the exit where Leon was stuck.

"What does Victor want with you?" Leon asked.

"What? I, um, I-" Grace stuttered.

"Grace." Leon said calmly.

"Wh-What do you mean?" Grace asked.

"He grabbed you for a reason." Leon stated.

"Wait! Y-You're DSO. That's The ah, uh... The Counter-Bioterrorism agency, right?" Grace asked.

Leon handed Grace his revolver. "Take this."

"You're sure?" Grace asked.

"You might need it." Leon said. Grace took the weapon, having to use both hands to hold it due to its weight. No doubt she's never held such a weapon before. "Now go. Get outta here." Leon said, then the door closed.

"W-what do we do?" Grace asked.

"For now, I'll stick with you. I was originally here to visit someone but now... Looks like I'm on a rescue mission." You replied.

"Y-Y-Y-You said you were DSO for a while?" Grace asked.

"I was. If DSO is investigating this place and that thing was roaming around, it's a safe bet that there's going to be some more dangerous shit here so be ready. You ever fired a gun before?" You asked.

"Yes, my um... my S&S M232." Grace replied.

"Hope you can handle that gun there, it packs a major punch." You said. "Let's move." You and Grace made your way downstairs, entering what you could only assume is a staff room. Inside was a typewriter, some books, a huge box and a doorway leading elsewhere. "Take a moment to ground yourself, catch your breath. I'll look around." You said then left the room.

You looked at the doors on both sides of the room, both needing keycards to get through. "Great. Guess we're going to have to go on a treasure hunt." You groaned. "Unless..." You walked upstairs to the other door and pushed on it. "Locked. Of course." You huffed. Three openings were on the door. Sun, Moon and Star. "Three pieces to the puzzle, why is it always a puzzle with these things?"

"Y/N?" Grace called out.

"Up here." You replied. Grace ran up to you and spoke.

"I found this. A... guy had it." Grace replied.

"Where is he now?" You asked.

"D-D-Dead. Something... cut his throat. I thought he died before I entered the room but... he was alive for a few seconds." Grace replied. "T-There's also a little girl in there, inside a cell."

"A child in a cell?" You asked.

"Y-Yeah. Her name is Emily." Grace replied.

"Can we get her out?" You asked.

"I-I don't know. There's a lock on the door with a, uh, a roman numeral for three." Grace replied.

"A security system designed so only specific people can enter the cell. Something's going on here and it doesn't sound good." You said.

"W-What should we do?" Grace asked.

"For now, we'll use this keycard to enter the West wing. Hopefully I'll find who I'm looking for." You said.

"Who are you looking for?" Grace asked.

"Her name is Selena Corey." You replied.
