Work Text:

“Doctor? Where are we again?” M/n says, struggling on the tough terrain of this planet's city. There were cords everywhere. Not the first time they were walking over cords believe it or not.

“Uh, I’m actually not sure yet. C’mon keep up.” God, he’s annoying. M/n grunts. He catches up to the doctor, knocking shoulders.

“How do you not know where we are? Don’t you know all sorts of planets and um societies?” He can see smoke now, and smell……candy? M/n doesn’t know, but it smells sweet.

“I’m hungry doctor. And it’s….it’s kind of hot here.” The Doctor whips around. Taking a good look at M/n. The small beads of sweat starting to form on his skin, the way he’s becoming sluggish. Tripping over the cords that make up the planet's path.

“I think I know where we are now. Feverish?” The doctor catches m/n as he almost collapses. His body is warm, he’s starting to feel it too. It’s going to take longer to affect him.

“Alright, back to the tardis for us. Quickly now.”

“Doctor whats….whats going on?” M/n flushes. His body becomes hotter next to the doctors. His touch making the feverish feeling worse. His clothes feel tight, itchy and wrong.

“Focus on walking m/n. The tardis is right there.” The doctor feels a hand clutch his arm. The Doctor finds himself on the ground, m/n straddling him.

“Woah okay. M/n the tardis is right there, you’ll feel better….we’ll feel better once we are inside.” The fever is getting worse. The doctor is feeling it now, from the top of his head all the way down to his toes, this is about to get a bit complicated.

“Who was rose? Why am I always compared? I’ve been with you for three years of my life, why am I not enough…..doctor what’s happening to me?” His voice is strained, tears forming is his eyes. The doctor hates seeing him like this. He took m/n as a companion to soon To close after the time he lost rose. He was still healing, talking about her, comparing them to each other. He knew it grated on m/n, knew it bothered him.

“She….I’m sorry m/n. You appeared in my life so soon…so soon after I lost her. I….mmph! Don’t do…that. We need to get into the tardis. Now!” M/n had shifted. Shifted down, their faces are close now.

“Did you love her? Do you…do you love me doctor?” M/n’s voice was quiet. A whisper against his lips. Oh how he dreaded this question.

“I did. I did love her. Still do. I…care about you. Very much m/n. Please, get into the tardis. This will pass I promise.” The doctor doesn’t move, the chemicals that make up the air react to emotion. Strong ones.

“But you don’t love me. Not like her.” M/n’s clothes are still tight and itchy. He stands up, mind clear as ever. He stumbles his way to the tardis, opening the door. The air is cool, the feverish feeling melting away. Tears being blinked away. The doctor stumbles in shortly after, kneeling by the stairs.

“Are you feeling alright doctor? I thought the tardis would help.” M/n turns around. Wiping his eyes with the back of his hands. He turns around, the doctor is panting, sweat beading up and sliding down his face and neck.

“Doctor?” M/n walks over, kneeling down beside him. He’s still feverish.

“It helped you, it'll be a while before it helps me. The chemicals took longer to take effect, only makes sense for it to take longer to go away. Just don’t touch me, it’ll pass soon.” M/n’s hand was already on his forehead. The reaction was immediate. Skin to skin contact activated it. The fever got worse immediately. M/n found himself flipped, back against the entry way stairs.

“I do love you, I do. I never meant to hurt you,” the doctor's hand finds its way to m/ns cheek. His clothes feel hot, he knows he's sweating through his clothes. It’s taking everything in him not to rip them off, to find release.

“Doctor……it’s okay.” M/n leans up on his elbows. Their lips almost touching.

“The tardis isn’t helping is it?” Their lips brush as he speaks, a feather light touch.

“No it’s not.”

“Doctor…” M/n gently presses their lips together.

“I expect a more indepth talk later doctor.”

“Yes yes whatever you want.” The doctor smashes their lips back together, pulling his blazer off. The tie goes next. His hands slide underneath m/ns shirt. Clothes fall quickly. The doctor pulled m/n into his lap. Kisses grow messy, desperate and heated.

The tardis gave them a bed, they made good use of it. Their clothes were left by the entrance. The tardis floats through space, m/n isn’t sure when it left that planet, huffs and gasps echo through the space.

It’s been hours, the fever hasn’t gone down. M/n thinks its gotten worse.

“D…doctor mm the fever…” He can barely form words at this point. His back is on the bed, his legs wrapped around the doctor's waist. He hasn’t slowed down.

“What about it?” He pulls one of m/n's legs over his shoulder. M/n’s back arches, the shift in position sending ripples of pleasure through him.

“D..doctor! Nng.” Lips are smashed together again, they don’t fully meet. Hungry and desperate.

“Higher energy. Not human, two hearts, science words,” the doctor mumbles, keeping their lips close and pressed together desperately. He’s getting close, sloppy with his movements.

They're both sweaty, tired. They lay next to each other on the bed, m/n has his arm over his eyes. Taking in deep breaths.

“We are never going to that planet again.”

“Oh no never,” The doctor chuckles, sliding his hand into m/ns hair. M/n chuckles as well, it quickly becomes a full laugh. The craziness of the situation.

“Now about that talk…”

“Oh come on”
