Chapter Text
“AAAAAAAAND EVERYONE, THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!! WE’LL SEE YOU ALL AT OUR NEXT PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!!!!”
The lead vocalist, Luffy, screamed into the microphone, as he waved the large crowd goodbye. The crowd screamed back giddily in response, with a mix of “We love you!”s & “See you again!”s echoing throughout the whole venue.
Luffy flashed the crowd a large, beaming smile for the last time, and then ran towards the back stage, where the rest of his other band members were already on the way back to their designated room.
“Ahh, another successful performance,” Nami said, giving a huge stretch before taking off the guitar strap from her shoulders & placing her instrument back inside its case. “Seems like the crowd today really fell for my charms, hm?”
“Oh, cut the crap, Nami, you know they were all there for the great bassist Usopp,” Usopp smugly replied, huffing proudly as he struck a pose.
“Who even gives a shit about bassists?” she snarkily commented, her signature cheeky grin smeared all over her face, which earned a scowl from Usopp.
“You guys are both so silly, they were all there for me,” Luffy beamed at them, laughing as he plopped down on the couch, right beside where Zoro, the drummer, was sitting, arms crossed against his chest, sticks still in his hands. Although he had an unreadable expression on his face, he seemed to be completely relaxed.
“D’ya feel the pyrotechnics that my brother set up in front of the stage, Zoro? You were all the way in the back, I wasn’t sure if you felt the heat, hehehe. Ya think the crowd liked it?”
Before Zoro could give a reply, Nami abruptly stood up from her seat, her eyes glued to the phone in her hand. There was a look on her face that the rest of the band members couldn’t quite exactly place.
“Hold on, guys. Wait.”
“Hm? What’s up?”
“‘Battle of the bands’ competition around next year in March… invite only… winner gets to perform at the Sabaody Music Festival.”
“Aww, invite only? Dammit, I wanted to perform at the Sabaody Music Festival, too. That’s the dream!”
“No, you idiot, I’m not done explaining anything yet,” Nami barked, finally looking up from her phone to address her bandmates. “Jinbei just sent me this message. Turns out we’re already invited!”
“That’s great!” Usopp exclaimed with a glimmer in his eyes, getting up to give a congratulatory slap on the back to Luffy. “We’ve practically got this competition in the bag! Lots of people like our songs— we can just play our top streamed one!”
Nami clicked her tongue & rolled her eyes, putting a hand on her hip. “As if they’re just gonna make it that easy to win. If we were allowed to do that, so can the other bands. Competition says that we gotta make a new, original song for the event, and the fans’ll have to vote on which song they liked best.”
At the mention of the challenge, Usopp’s face of delight quickly fell into a panicked expression, his eyes growing wide & his mouth tightening shut into a quiver. “N-new song?! Just for a competition?!? Are they insane??? March is only a couple months away—”
“6 months,” Zoro finally spoke, tone gruff as he himself stood up from his seat— which caused Luffy to temporarily lose his balance on the couch. “It’s 6 whole months from now. That’s enough time for just one song.” He made a grabbing motion towards Nami’s phone. “Gimme that. I wanna see the rest of the details.”
Nami dramatically swiped her phone away from him, a scowl on her face.
“As if you can read! You’re hardly literate.”
“Oh, shut the hell up!” Zoro retorted, taking offense at the accusation, before crossing his arms against his chest once more. “Fine. If you won’t let me read it, at least just tell us what’s actually in the details.”
Nami narrowed her eyes at him, still clutching her phone close to her chest. But once she made sure that Zoro wouldn’t try to take her phone a second time, she relaxed again & sat down on the nearest chair.
“The competition’s called the ‘Davy Back - Battle of the Bands’,” she finally said, reading the invitation off of her phone. “Like I’ve already mentioned, it’s invite-only, and the winner gets to perform at the Sabaody Music Festival. Catch is— like I’ve also said,— each band has to create a new song for the competition, which they’ll debut at the event. It’s all gonna get livestreamed, and fans have to vote on which one they like the best. The competition itself is in March—yes, Zoro, 6 months from now— but we’ve got all the time ‘til then to make a new one.”
“Oh, this is gonna be hell for me,” Usopp groaned, burying his face in his hands. “I don’t think I can write something good enough for a competition that huge in just that short amount of time.”
“It’s just one song, no?” chimed Luffy, eyes gleaming with excitement and a hint of childlike innocence. He slung an arm over the other’s shoulders, pulling him close against his cheek.
“We’ve done it so many times before, I know we can do it again. I trust you, Usopp!”
“Easy for you to say,” the bassist grimaced, finally lifting his head up from his hands to look at their lead singer in the eyes. “You just sing ‘em all, anyway.”
“And me? You’re just gonna forget the other lyricist?” Nami huffed, pretending to be angry.
“Right,” Usopp sighed—whether it was one of relief or one of despair, no one knew. “I guess with one other hand to help me, it can be attainable…”
“I’m no good at that kind of shit, so I’ll leave all of that to the two of you,” Zoro said dismissively, waving a hand in the air before walking towards the mini fridge that they kept in the corner of the room. He pulled out a can of beer, chugging it as he walked back to the couch.
“Oi, Zoro, you might wanna save some space for later,” Luffy commented, sending an innocent grin towards his direction.
“Later? What’s happening later?”
“Oh, don’t tell me you forgot!” Nami chided, hands on her hips, looking like a mother scolding her child. “We’ve already agreed to this weeks ago. We’re meeting up with Sanji's group, remember?”
At the mere mention of the name, Zoro scowled deeply, his grip on the beer can tightening, leaving a dent on the can.
“I thought I already said that I’m not going.”
“Oh, don’t be like that,” Usopp finally joined in. “I know our bands are almost like rivals at this point, but they’re still our friends. Besides, don’t you wanna at least come for the booze?”
“Booze, yes.” Zoro chugged down the rest of the beer, before completely crushing the can in his hand & tossing it into a nearby bin. “That blond fuckface? Absolutely not.”
“I really don’t get why you & Sanji don’t get along, especially when you guys were so close back in high school,” said the guitarist, the look on her face a mixture of both confusion & concern. “I mean, he’s a really nice guy. For the most part, that is. When he’s not being annoying.”
“That’s exactly why,” the drummer responded, the frown on his face deepening. “He’s annoying as shit. I can’t stand him. I don’t ever want to see his ugly ass face, ever.”
“Pleeeeeaaaaase?” Luffy pleaded, giving him a look that reminded him of a begging puppy. “We haven’t seen each other in months due to our concerts! I really, really wanna catch up!”
“You just wanna eat whatever he’s bringing over today,” Nami rolled her eyes at Luffy, before turning to face Zoro. “But he’s right, Zoro. We haven’t seen them at all in months since both our respective concerts started. It would be nice to catch up with them every once in a while.”
“Or just go there & drink as much booze as you want,” Usopp added with a shrug. “You don’t even need to talk to the guy at all. Just ignore him for the rest of the night & talk with everyone else.”
“Pleeeeeaaaaase? I know everyone from their band misses you, too!”
Zoro took one more good look at Luffy’s pleading face, before eventually caving in. He could never really find it in him to say no to Luffy, after all— he’s one of the friends that had always been there for him through thick & thin, especially when their band just first got together.
“Fine, fine, whatever,” he grumbled as he ran his hands through his green hair. “But I’m leaving the minute that asshole starts something.”
———
Fortunately for him, both parties agreed to eat at a nearby izakaya— which meant that Zoro could get as much drinks that night as he could possibly want (or need).
But unfortunately for him, all the other good seats were already taken by everybody else— and he just had to have the misfortune of sitting on the seat right next to Sanji.
“Sanji! Robin! Franky! Chopper! Brook! I’ve missed all of you guys so much!” Luffy exclaimed, grinning wide. He ran up to all of them & wrapped his arms around most of them— how he was able to stretch his body like that, no one knew.
“Luffy!” they all exclaimed, almost in unison, as they returned his hug. “It’s been so long!”
“How was you guys’ concerts? I hope y’all have been having soooooooo much fun, ‘cuz we definitely have! We got Ace to work on some pyrotechnics for our shows— it’s been a huge hit among our fans! I’m so glad we got him onboard for our shows!”
“Our concerts have been fun, Luffy,” Robin replied, a gentle smile on her face. “We’ve been gaining more & more fans lately too. I’m fairly surprised that there hasn’t been an accident at one of our concerts… yet.”
“Yeesh, you really freak me out,” Usopp commented, which earned a cheeky chuckle from the lady.
“It’s all thanks to Sanji’s sweet, lovely voice, yohoho.” The eldest member of their group, Brook, chimed in with a laugh. “I know all the ladies sigh dreamily once you start singing.”
“I’m not doing all the work, you know,” Sanji answered back with a soft smile, addressing the rest of his own band members. “The rest of you have all been working hard, too. Especially Robin.” He winked at her direction, which only earned him a polite laugh.
“Sooooooooo humble,” Zoro grumbled sarcastically under his breath with a bitter laugh, rolling his eyes at Sanji’s words. He busied himself with a plate of rice balls & a glass of beer, insistent on looking anywhere but the other’s direction.
“Excuse me?” Sanji spoke, his voice raising as he narrowed his eyes at him.
“You heard me,” Zoro taunted back with a chuckle & a shit-eating grin, still refusing to look his way as he shoved the rest of his rice ball into his mouth.
Although Sanji was clearly affected by his words, he opted to ignore him despite the heat getting to his head, all in an effort to keep the peace between the table. There were already a couple of concerned looks exchanged between the two girls, Usopp, and Chopper— and he’d be damned if the mood got dragged even further down, more so than it already seemed to be. It had been such a long time since he'd seen all of his friends together— and he wasn’t going to let one snarky comment ruin his entire night.
He passed around some of the plates to the rest of the group, making more small talk with the others— and at some point, wrestling with a half-drunk Luffy to hand over the plate of arabiki sausages— before another mocking chuckle to his right rang in his ears.
“Not unless all the screams of your diehard fans finally turned you deaf.”
“Why, you—” Falling for the obvious bait, Sanji hurled a hand to Zoro’s shirt, finally forcing the other to look him in the face. “What the fuck does it matter to you, huh?”
“And why the fuck are you so affected? It’s not like anything I say matters to you, right?”
“You asshole—!”
“Stop it, you two!!!”
Having had enough of their bickering, Nami stepped in & physically pulled the two away from each other.
“Sanji, take my seat.”
“Gladly, Nami dearest.”
“You’re siding with him?”
“I’m not siding with anyone, bozo. I just need to make sure you won’t start any more shit tonight, so I’m sitting right next to you.” Nami huffed as she sat down, crossing her arms.
“Really… what do I do with the two of you? You’re both dense as hell.”
Despite the momentary commotion at the table, the group soon fell back into a boisterous, cheery chatter. Although some of them— namely Usopp and Chopper— would occasionally look around nervously to check if they were being too loud, or if they were beginning to disrupt the restaurant, the group never really spoke any quieter. The more they got drunk, the more they laughed, and soon enough none of them even cared to spare any glances to the other patrons anymore.
The rest of the night, thankfully, passed by without any other major incident. With Nami keeping a close eye on Zoro— despite being on par with his 11 glasses of beer and two sake bottles each— he seemed to have resorted to staying quiet for most of the night. Every time he began to laugh mockingly at something Sanji said, Nami immediately pinched his arm or shoved her elbow against his side.
Eventually, all the other patrons left, and only their group remained in the establishment. Even the restaurant staff were beginning to clean up around them— but it wasn’t until a staff member informed them that it was closing time that they finally started getting up to leave.
“Aww, but I haven’t had enough yet! There’s still sooooooo much to talk about…” Luffy whined, although the heaviness of his eyelids were showing in his face, and his walk was starting to slump.
“There’s always next time, Luffy,” Sanji told him, giving him a gentle smile.
Franky suddenly began to bawl his eyes out beside him, picking Luffy up & pulling him into his arms. “I’ve missed y’all SUPER-bly,” he cried, unable to stop the tears. “I don’t know when’s the next time I’ll get to see y’all.”
“Wait— before everyone leaves,” Nami suddenly began, causing the members of the other band to pause in their tracks. “I just have to ask. Were you guys also invited to the Davy Back - Battle of the Bands?”
“I’d assume you were also invited to the competition,” Robin responded, opening her phone to show the group a message. “We just received our invitation earlier today, just after our performance ended.”
“What a coincidence! That’s when we got ours as well.”
“So we’ll be competing against you guys again, huh,” Sanji commented, chuckling to himself. “Oi, Luffy. I know we’re good friends— but I’m not losing this time around.”
“I’m not losing to you either, Sanji,” Luffy replied, a sudden determined, serious look appearing all over his face, despite the apparent drunkenness. “Even if we’re friends, I’m gonna make sure I get up there on that stage. Don’t you forget it!”
“At least this’ll be an excuse to see each other more often, yohoho,” Brook added with a laugh. “I suppose you all are still coming to the same music studio near your old high school?”
“Yeah! It holds a lotta memories for us, so we never really stopped coming there.”
“Well, we’ll see each other then! It’s getting pretty late already, and I wanna make sure I can get started working on the lyrics as soon as I can,” Usopp said, waving the group goodbye & pulling Luffy over with him. They both just happened to live nearby, and since Usopp’s girlfriend was out of town at the moment, he decided it was best that he & Luffy walk home together— especially considering Luffy was already pretty drunk.
“Bye everyone! Let’s go out again some time!”
———
And with that, everyone says their goodbyes, and each of them went their separate ways.
At last, finally, some peace & quiet.
Zoro was never one to be sociable to begin with— but although he’d never admit it out loud, especially not to the rest of the group, he’d actually enjoyed the night out, even if he talked sparingly. It was still great to catch up with old friends & learn about what was going on in their lives at the moment.
And he’d never admit it out loud, either, but he was glad that Sanji was doing well himself.
Even though neither of them wanted anything to do with the other’s life anymore.
He started to head towards a certain direction, stumbling along the sidewalk with a drunken gait. He’s sneakily had a couple more drinks after Nami eventually tapped out, and the night was starting to blur all around him. Pair that with his terrible sense of direction (that he adamantly refused to admit), and it was just a recipe for a disaster.
“It’s gotta be this street,” he mumbled to himself, voice slurring. “It has to be. I’d remember that streetlamp anywhere.”
“Oi, dumbass, it’s my street! All streetlamps here look the same— don’t you know how to read street signs?! You’ve gone too far!!”
Surprised & angry, but refusing to show either emotion, Zoro kept looking ahead, even as he turned back towards the direction he swore he just came from, refusing to even acknowledge the other man’s presence.
“That’s the wrong way too, you idiot! I told you, you went too far! That’s not even the direction you came from, dumbass!”
“And why the hell are you following me?!” Zoro snapped, finally turning to face the man in question, his hand immediately fisting the other’s shirt.
“Because you’re a goddamn idiot, that’s why!” Sanji answered back, eyebrows furrowed & face red in equal anger & drunkenness. “Nobody in our group trusts that you can get back home on your own.”
“Who the hell said that?! And why send you, of all people?!?”
“Because your place is close to mine, idiot,” Sanji replied, adding an extra, exaggerated emphasis on the last word. “Literally everyone knows you’ll get lost. So I suggested that I’d at least watch over you on the way back.” A smug grin suddenly curled up his lips, and he couldn’t help but snicker. “I just didn’t expect you’d get this lost.”
“Shut the hell up,” Zoro barked back, finally letting go of the other’s shirt with a shove. “Also— I’m not lost. I have a great sense of direction.”
Sanji laughed at his words & rolled his eyes, drunkenly waving a hand dismissively at the other’s direction. “Oh yeah, sure, mosshead. Whatever you say to keep up with your delusions.”
“I’m not delusional either— if anything, you’re delusional. I’ve always been able to get back home on my own. I don’t need a damn babysitter.”
“Least you’re going the right way now, mosshead. And it’s all thanks to me,” the blond slurred, his footsteps equally as lopsided as the other’s as they walked beside each other.
“Creepy,” Zoro responded with a grimace. “How do you even know which way I live?”
“My dearest Nami gave me your location,” Sanji answered, waving his phone in front of the other’s face. It was open to the Map app, with Zoro’s apartment location pinned. “And, like I said, your place is the closest to mine. It’s not that hard to get to— if you’re not a bumbling idiot who constantly gets lost.”
“Shut the hell up,” Zoro bit back in irritation, the frown on his face growing. “I know my place’s close by, you can go fuck off now.”
“Tch. I’ll see you all the way back, you stubborn fuck. Can’t risk you getting lost & Nami getting mad at me.” Sanji took out a cigarette from a pack he hid away in his jacket’s pocket and lit it up, taking a long drag.
“You know, I wouldn’t be doing all this crap if you weren’t Luffy’s friend. I’d rather spend my nights with a beautiful woman, than seeing the back of your ugly green head.”
For some reason, those words managed to get under Zoro’s skin, pulling harshly at his chest from the inside, and something inside him cracked.
“Hah, go ahead, you have my permission to leave,” he replied sharply in a mocking & dismissive tone. “Go fuck off with some other woman, or whatever it is you always do. Surely they’re way better than spending any time with me. I can get home on my own, anyway.”
“And what if something happens to you—?!” Sanji immediately blurted out without thinking, a brief look of concern flashing in his eyes. “You dumbass, I can’t just leave you alone—”
“Leave me alone!!!”
Zoro finally snapped, once more dragging the other man by the shirt, pulling him close to his face. He pushed him against the wall of the alleyway they’ve somehow managed to find themselves in, glaring daggers right into the other man’s skull.
And yet, Sanji didn’t waver or back down, staring at him with equal contempt, his striking blue eyes boring a hole through the other’s head.
“Idiot, I already told you—”
“You told me to stay the fuck away from you, didn’t you? So why the fuck do you insist on staying around me?!” Zoro’s head was swirling all around him at this point, both from the rising rage in his chest & the alcohol from earlier that night. Tears were starting to sting his eyes, but he refused to let them fall, and he refused to show any signs of backing down.
“You wanted me to leave you the fuck alone, so I did just that. And now you’re telling me you can’t just leave me alone?” A small, bitter laugh escaped his lips. “Or maybe you forgot. Just like you did with everything else you’ve said.”
Zoro tightened his grip on Sanji’s shirt, pulling him closer against him, until their faces were only mere centimeters from the other.
“What the fuck do you want from me, Vinsmoke?”
They stayed like that for some time— chests heaving heavily with anger, foreheads pressed against the other’s, their mouths so close to each other’s that they could both smell the alcohol from the other’s breaths. Zoro’s face refused to grow any softer, eyes still staring straight through him— and if Sanji looked a little harder, he could see a hint of pleading.
But Sanji’s face that was once full of rage, soon softened into a look full of guilt, sadness, remorse… and something else.
Regret? Longing? Yearning?
Zoro wasn’t quite sure on what that look meant, but it felt like a knife just pierced his chest open, tearing him apart from the inside. He could never really look him straight in the eyes, not when he felt like his chest was about to burst every time he did.
Without much thought, Sanji pulled on the other’s shirt on his own, closing whatever small distance was left between the two of them.
Soft, albeit drunken lips felt warm yet electric against Zoro’s own, his eyes growing wide in shock. His own heart beat loudly against his chest, threatening to leave his body. His head was throbbing, every part of his body tingling— and for the first time in a long while, he felt weak. If it wasn’t for Sanji’s grip on his shirt keeping him up, Zoro felt like his legs would’ve given up on him.
It didn’t help that Sanji was tugging on his shirt even harder, keeping him right where he was, refusing to let go for even just a second. He wanted to leave, to step away, to run away from whatever the hell this was— but how could he, when Sanji held him so firmly in place?
Zoro finally closed his eyes, letting the drunkenness and the heat and the haze overwhelm him, until the only sensation he could feel was from the other’s lips. He pressed his body against him, the growing cold of the night fading away completely, and he kissed him back deeply, earning him a small groan in response. Soon enough, the other’s tongue was begging for entrance to his mouth— and although he hesitated initially, a soft whimper was enough to make him cave in.
He could’ve sworn he heard fireworks pop off in his head.
Almost just like before.
Kissing Sanji— no, making out with him— was something he’d never thought he’d ever do.
Not in his entire life.
Not after that one time.
And yet, here they were, in the small alleyway right beside Zoro’s apartment, with their faces practically glued to each other, not even stopping to pause for air.
It was so fast, with everything happening all at once— and the least that he was expecting was Sanji getting more & more needier, pulling him back whenever he paused, his leg hitching onto Zoro’s hip, pulling him closer towards him— Sanji grinding his crotch against his own.
And the pleasure from the friction was just so undeniably good, even if it came from a person he swore he didn’t want anything to do with anymore.
He rocked his hips back against the other’s, his hand wandering down to the other’s ass, lifting him up slightly. The friction & the heat from each other’s pants were starting to cause the two of them to whimper, breaths hitching, and Zoro had to break apart before they got any louder or harder.
“No, mosshead, don’t stop,” Sanji whispered, completely out of breath. A dribble of spit glistened from the corner of his mouth, his normally well-kept hair all messy, and Zoro couldn’t help but take in the view for just a brief moment.
“It’s 3 AM,” Zoro slurred, finding himself equally out of breath. “I don’t wanna wake anyone up.”
The sudden loss of heat & contact mixed in with the alcohol from earlier that night was clouding Sanji’s judgment, but he didn’t care about any of that at all right now. Maybe he’ll come to regret it in the morning— but for now, all he wanted was Zoro’s scent, Zoro’s lips, Zoro’s body—
He wanted Zoro.
He pulled him close once again, leaning in to sneak another deep, yet sloppy kiss.
“Take me to your room, then.”
———
The two of them drunkenly fumble their way through Zoro’s apartment— lucky for them, since it was already late at night, there was no one else in the lobby, and no one else coming in or out of the building. Although they managed to maintain some dignity inside the elevator, all decency left the minute they got to Zoro’s floor. Cameras be damned.
Sanji immediately pinned Zoro against the wall the minute they stepped off the elevator, which caught Zoro completely off-guard. He let him kiss him for a while, his tongue messily crashing against his own, before he decided to break away briefly to grab his keys from his pocket.
“You’re so damn slow,” Sanji grumbled impatiently, keeping his voice low.
“Do you wanna get in or no?”
“Just hurry up,” he snapped, leaning forward to bite Zoro’s pierced ear.
Flustered with the act, Zoro clumsily dropped his keys, and he immediately barked back at him in a hushed voice.
“Get off, idiot! Let me get the door first—then do whatever the hell you want inside.”
Sanji finally reluctantly stepped away, but spared no moment the minute they walked inside Zoro’s apartment. The door had just barely been closed, and he was immediately all over him once more. He pinned him to the wall again, crashing his lips against his own in an aggressive manner. Cold, slightly calloused fingers tugged Zoro’s shirt up, hands wandering against the other’s muscular abs, as if it was trying to commit each detail to memory, lest it disappear.
Sanji briefly pulled away from kissing for a moment to pull Zoro’s shirt off him completely, his gaze falling down to the other’s chest, then his abs, then the growing chub in his pants.
“Oi, up here,” Zoro gruffed, but his face was completely red, both from the alcohol & whatever the hell it is that they were doing. He was beginning to get self-conscious with the way that Sanji was looking at him, eyeing him with hunger.
“I think you meant down here, mosshead,” Sanji replied smugly, a grin twisting at the corner of his mouth. With one hand, he pinned one of Zoro’s wrists to the wall, and with the other, he unbuckled Zoro’s belt and unzipped his pants, tugging it down a little— just enough to expose the tent in his boxers. He leaned in against Zoro’s ear, nipping it lightly.
“You said I can do whatever the hell I want inside.”
Those words left Zoro’s head in a wild frenzy, his heart thumping loudly against his chest as Sanji’s eyes glistened with something he never thought he’d see—not for him, at least. A part of it terrified him, and in the deepest depths of his guarded heart, a voice screamed at him.
‘This will be your biggest heartbreak.’
And yet, in the haziness of it all, his better judgment fogged by alcohol and heat, he chose to give in to the moment. Whether it will be a regret that will haunt him until he dies, or if it turns into something else entirely—he’s willing to test his luck & see.
Sanji began grinding his thigh against the hardness in Zoro’s crotch, all the while leaving bite marks all over his chest. He let his mouth linger over his nipple, and the mere heat of his breath alone was driving Zoro insane—but he didn’t stop there. He bit into it, his tongue toying & sucking at it. Zoro’s breath hitched, and he unconsciously began to grind his hips against the other’s thigh, trying to get as much friction as he can get.
As Zoro was about to reach his limit, Sanji immediately pulled away, and the sudden loss of contact made him groan in frustration.
“What the hell! I was close—”
Sanji immediately interrupted him with a quick, teasing peck on the lips.
“I’m not letting you get there that easy, mosshead. I wanna enjoy it, too.”
Zoro let out a disgruntled huff, but was immediately hit by the feeling of his pants & boxers sliding off his legs, the cold air inside his apartment hitting him. He was about to say something in protest, when a sudden, wet warmth filled around his cock, and whatever he was about to say quickly turned into a moan that he quickly tried to suppress with the back of his hand.
Sanji bobbed his head back and forth, mouth & tongue expertly gliding against Zoro’s cock. He brought down one of his hands to undo his own pants, hurriedly pulling down his own boxers. He wrapped his hand around his own cock and began to move his hand up & down, his own moans mixing with Zoro’s in perfect harmony.
“Oh, fuck, Sanji—”
As Zoro was already close to his climax from before, it didn’t take long until he came. Both the sensation & the sight of the blond earned a loud, raspy moan from him, and he grabbed Sanji’s hair, then bucked his hips harder against his mouth. Warm fluid soon spilled all over Sanji’s mouth & dribbled down the corner of his lips, which he promptly swallowed.
Breathless, Zoro slumped hard against the wall, legs shaking. None of his usual workouts or jogs ever left him in such a shaky state like this.
Sanji pulled away to finish on his own—now that Zoro had finished, he didn’t want to be the only one left without cumming. He frantically rubbed his cock in an effort to get as much friction as he can get, warmth beginning to pool around his crotch— when Zoro quickly jerked his hand away, his grasp on his wrist firm.
“Hey—!! You already came, you selfish prick! Let me finish too!”
“You’re the selfish prick, you prick!” Zoro barked back, face completely red. “I’m fully naked, and you’re still half-dressed!”
It didn’t take long until Sanji was pinned down— this time against the floor, with Zoro looming above him.
“What the hell are you—”
Zoro undid a couple of buttons from Sanji’s shirt, revealing a slender, pale neck. Immediately leaning over, he began to leave marks of his own against Sanji’s neck and shoulder— a few nips, a couple of rougher bites, until he eventually sucked on a spot that can just barely be covered by a high collar.
If Sanji said he didn’t enjoy it, he’d be lying.
Zoro undid the rest of Sanji’s buttons, and they both pull his shirt off of him, leaving his torso completely exposed. Zoro then went to tug his pants off of him, throwing it alongside his own pile of clothes that lay scattered just beside them.
“There, it’s all off. Now, move aside & let me finish, mosshead.”
“Like hell I’d just let you jerk it off, curlybrows.”
Before Sanji could say anything else in response, Zoro’s lips were back against his own, the kiss full of desperation & hunger. He grinded his own cock against his, surprisingly already hard again. Sanji couldn’t help but moan against Zoro’s mouth, breaths fast & harried.
Zoro momentarily paused & broke away from the kiss, causing a strained moan to escape Sanji’s throat. He quickly shot him a confused but annoyed look.
“I’ll bring you to my bed,” he explained in a whisper, which sent a shiver down Sanji’s spine. “I promise it’s comfier than the floor.”
Sanji couldn’t help but stifle a laugh at that— the idea that Zoro would choose to make sure he’s comfortable. He wrapped his arms & legs around Zoro’s torso, and allowed himself to get carried to the other’s bedroom— but not without giving him a barrage of sloppy kisses to his face & his lips.
Surprisingly, Zoro’s bed was indeed quite comfortable— but he didn’t get to admire it for too long, before Zoro was back on top of him. It wasn’t long until Zoro’s lips were back against his lips, and his crotch grinding against his. He then moved his hips slightly lower, placing the tip of his cock right outside Sanji’s entrance, and began to grind against him.
“Zoro, please,” Sanji managed to groan out, burying his face in the nook of Zoro’s neck. He wrapped his thighs against the other’s hips, and his arms around his shoulders. “Stop teasing me— please, just put it in.”
Zoro wasn’t expecting to ever hear those words from Sanji, but whatever surprise he felt was completely overshadowed by the growing lust clouding his mind. Maybe it was all just a drunken delusion, and come morning he’ll wake up alone—but he didn’t care about any of that at all right now.
He’d been secretly wanting this for years, and now he’s finally got it.
Even if it was just for one night.
“Gimme a sec,” Zoro whispered, giving him a quick peck on the cheek, before momentarily getting off him & moving to the edge of the bed. He leaned over to his bedside drawer, shuffling through his belongings & even throwing out some other useless things on the floor haphazardly, before taking out a bottle of lube.
He shuffled back on top of Sanji, who was staring at him with growing desperation.
“I need to make sure you’re okay,” he told him as he opened the bottle, squeezing a fair amount of lube into his hand, before pressing a finger against Sanji’s entrance.
Sanji bit his lip at the sensation, but when one of Zoro’s fingers found its way inside him, a stifled hiss and moan left his lips, his legs already starting to shake. And to think this was just one finger— what more when Zoro himself was finally inside of him?
Another lubed finger pressed inside of Sanji’s ass, and then another, and although he knew this was just in preparation, the friction was already enough for him to grasp at Zoro’s bedsheet. Zoro’s fingers were rough but gentle against him, making sure he was completely lubed up & stretched. He wasn’t expecting him to be this soft, not with him— and the carefulness in the other’s actions only served to redden his face further.
Zoro soon pulled his fingers out of him completely, and the sudden lack of warmth & contact inside him made Sanji groan.
“Hurry up,” Sanji whined once more, and despite the shakiness in his breath & actions, he propped himself up with his hands, taking the bottle of lube from Zoro’s hands. “We’re getting nowhere with how slow you are. I’ll go help you.”
“Hey!! Give that back—” Zoro began, making a motion to yank the bottle back from Sanji’s hand, but Sanji only shot him an annoyed look.
“Let me help you,” Sanji reiterated, squeezing a fair amount of lube onto his own hand, before pushing away Zoro’s hand & taking his cock in his hand. The feeling of Sanji’s hand around his cock once more filled Zoro’s head in a haze, and he brought the back of his hand to his face.
Sanji’s fingers rubbed up & down his length, making sure that he too was completely lubed up. He would occasionally run a finger to the tip of Zoro’s cock teasingly, with Zoro’s thigh twitching in response.
“I thought you told me to hurry up,” Zoro said through gritted teeth, unable to take it any longer. And, by the looks of it, neither was Sanji.
“I’m ready,” Sanji finally said, leaning back against the bed, legs spreading wide as Zoro climbed on top of him again.
Zoro took one more good look at him, taking in the view for a moment— a view he never thought he’d ever get to see, not in his life— before pushing the tip of his cock inside Sanji. The other man started groaning in pain, tears forming at the corners of his eyes. Zoro looked at him in concern & made a motion to pull out, worried that he hadn’t lubed him well enough, but a hand was quick to stop him from moving any further.
“It’s fine, I can take it,” Sanji mumbled out between heavy sighs, chest heaving. It wasn’t that Zoro didn’t prep him well enough, or used too little lube— rather, he just wasn’t expecting Zoro to be that big.
“Keep going— please.”
Still a little hesitant, Zoro pushed inside him further, and the deeper he went, the tighter the grip Sanji had around his shoulders, until his nails began to dig into the other’s back. As he went, the sound of his grunts & Sanji’s sighs grew heavier, until he was finally fully inside of him.
Slowly, at first, Zoro began to rock his hips back and forth, and he began to leave some more bite marks on Sanji’s neck & chest. He was so tight & warm against him, it was adding to the crazy haze that was swirling inside his head & his crotch.
And the way Sanji moaned and sighed… oh, he understands now why so many people became fans of their band. His voice was, genuinely, just as sweet and lovely as their friend claimed it was.
He’d always barely listened to any of their band’s songs, stating that it was “just not a genre that he liked” or “I’d rather be dead than listen to his voice”—and although he did occasionally listen to some just to check it out, none of the songs he ever sang was as beautiful a sound than the sounds that left his lips right now, in his apartment.
And it was all for just Zoro, just for his ears to hear.
A song made just for him.
“Z-Zoro,” Sanji moaned breathily, bringing his face close to the other’s & kissing him again. Each thrust, each grunt between the two of them, each messy kiss— it was enough to make Zoro quicken his pace, and soon he could feel the heat rising rapidly between his thighs.
“Sanji,” Zoro moaned back, lips pressed against the other’s ear that sent a shiver down the other’s spine. “God, Sanji— fuck.”
Sanji wasn’t expecting Zoro to be this gentle with him, or feel this good inside of him. The more Zoro slammed his cock against him, the more he hit that spot that made Sanji swear he saw stars, the more he got lost in the sensation, a heat pooling in his own crotch.
Not that he’d ever truly imagined being with Zoro in this way, not in a million years. It felt like every emotion he’d been holding back for years was finally spilling out in the open, finally culminating in the contact & heat between their legs.
“Fuck, Sanji— I’m getting close,” Zoro whispered, his movements beginning to grow more frantic & hurried, pressing Sanji harder against his bed. The sensation below his stomach was starting to grow unbearable, and no matter how hard he gritted his teeth, it was apparent that he was reaching his climax.
And, it seems, Sanji was too, with the way he was rocking his hips against Zoro’s in rhythm, meeting every quickened thrust with a push from his legs.
“Zoro, please,” he begged, wrapping his legs against Zoro’s hips, still matching his pace. “I want you in me. Please.”
With Sanji’s words egging him on, along with a few harder thrusts from his own hips, Zoro finally felt the rush coming out, filling Sanji deep inside— which caused the other to release his load as well, hot, sticky fluid flowing onto his stomach. After a brief pause to catch his breath, Zoro finally pulled out, collapsing onto the bed, right onto the space beside Sanji.
Both their chests heaved as they lay exhausted on the bed, the sound of their heavy sighs the only noise filling the room.
“I’ve got some tissues and wipes to clean up with,” Zoro brought up after a moment of silence, getting up to fetch the tissues & wipes from his bedside drawer, but Sanji was already hunched over at the corner of the bed, his back turned against him. It took a while for the other man to even respond to his words.
“Yeah, sure. Hand it over.”
Zoro wanted to help him clean up, but Sanji looked like he wanted to be left alone, so he simply handed him the box of tissues & pack of wipes. And although there was still some alcohol & adrenaline left swirling through his mind, he wasn’t that stupid of a man to realise that something suddenly felt… off.
After he was done, he crept back into bed. He felt a weight in the bed shift, and he turned over to see Sanji lying down, his back still turned against him. Cautiously, he brought an arm around Sanji— who seemed to flinch a bit at the touch. He wasn’t stupid enough to force the contact between them, so he pulled his arm back towards himself.
“Well, good night to you, curlybrows.”
“Yeah. Good night to you too, mosshead.”
As Zoro finally closed his eyes & drifted off to sleep, he could vaguely feel Sanji turn around in the bed, pressing his head against his chest. He took a deep breath in, inhaling the perfume in the other’s hair, before finally falling asleep.
———
Zoro was eventually woken up by the sunlight that peered through his windows, which hit him like a slap in the face. He initially opted to just cover his face with a pillow, but it was still too hot, so he decided to just say ‘fuck it’ & get up.
His head was heavy & spinning, a stinging ache thumping against his skull— despite priding himself on being able to handle so much alcohol, he definitely drank way too much last night.
When he opened his eyes, he was completely alone. There were hints that someone else was around last night—the strong smell of perfume on the spot right next to him on the bed was unignorable. But when he tried to bring memories of the previous night to his mind, it was never something concrete— just vague little details, like the sound of sighing that sounded like a song, and the rustling of blond hair in his hands.
Well, whoever it was that he somehow spent the night with, they were already gone, leaving seemingly nothing of their trace. It felt sad, but somehow, it wasn’t all too unfamiliar a feeling.
Zoro made his way into his bathroom, relieving himself first thing in the morning— when he noticed something strange on the bathroom floor.
A pair of blue socks, with a silly design that looked like a school of fish.
There was only one person he knows that owns something as stupid as these socks.
The realisation hit him like a car had just sped into him.
No way… Not again.
That can’t be right. He would never. Not again.
He liked women. He’s made that clear enough.
Not someone like Zoro.
Not Zoro.
He wouldn’t do anything like that, not with him. Not anymore, at least.
But the more he stared at the pair of socks, the more flashes of the night before kept coming into his mind— and although it still felt disjointed & unreal, he felt certain. It had to be him.
A sense of panic was beginning to pool inside his chest, but he ultimately chose to ignore it. Well, so what if last night did happen? It’s not like the two of them see each other every day, anyway, so he doesn’t have to deal with him at all. The competition that both of their bands were entering was still a whole 6 months away, and it’s not like they had to talk to each other before or during the event at all. Besides, it’s not like they were even going to be practising in the same place, anyway.
Whatever.
It’s not like this was going to be a big problem later down the line.
Ignoring the socks for a moment, he walked towards the sink & mirror, where he could see the marks left on his skin by the other man. Good lord— just what exactly happened last night, for him to have this many bite marks & scratch marks?! He’d have to cover it up with longer sleeves for a couple days.
As he was inspecting himself in the mirror, he couldn’t help but notice his tube of toothpaste—which he just recently bought— all squeezed out. Seems like his guest left in such a hurry that he even forgot to put the cap back on.
“Bastard.”
