[Chapter 1 In a new world... again]
[Sunset]
With Shoma's defeat and Analogman's energy leaving his body, everyone returns to Jijimon's house.
With the antivirus being released in the Digiworld, many of the catastrophes are inhibited and prevented, and the lives of almost all Digimon are brought back to normal.
After condolences, celebrations, and festivities, the group of heroes gather in front of FileCity, preparing to finally return home after many adventures.
Mirei was typing on her computer and preparing the portal for everyone to return home. After a few seconds, a portal opens behind her.
Jijimon approaches the heroes to speak. "Thank you, Subaru, really! And to you too, Himari and Kouta. When you return, we'll have a party!"
Subaru, Himari, and Kouta look away, somewhat embarrassed by Jijimon's thanks.
Taomon joins the conversation and bows slightly to the three of them. "I also thank you. You helped us a lot, really."
"W-what, it was nothing!" Kouta says, somewhat embarrassed.
"Hey, why don't you accept the compliments? Besides, Baru-Kun worked much harder than anyone else here." Himari points to Kouta, knowing full well that Subaru had done almost all of the work to rebuild the city.
"No need for compliments. I just did what was right, and in the end, we saved the Digiworld, didn't we?" Subaru tries to break up the discussion.
"We may have been pretty hard on each other at times." Kouta says, already more relaxed.
"Like that time you pushed Yukimura over the edge and he turned back into a Digitama?" Subaru asks, laughing a little.
"E-Hey, p-please don't remind me of that!" Kouta stammers with a little nervousness.
Everyone starts laughing, amused by Kouta's reaction.
Mameo takes the lead and speaks. "Then I'll go ahead. It was good while it lasted, but for now, it's goodbye." He bows in farewell, then walks to the portal with Shoma.
After that, everyone turns to their Digimon to say goodbye. Kouta goes to his Dukemon, Himari goes to her Holydramon, and Subaru faces his Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon.
"Yukimura, thank you for everything, and... I'm sorry about that time." Kouta says, looking at his Digimon somewhat melancholically as he says goodbye to him.
"No problem, master. I understand your mistake and forgive you completely for it." Yukimura says, relieving Kouta's tension.
"Rikka, thank you for everything we've been through together. And please... wait for me, okay?" Himari says with a smile to her Digimon.
"I also thank you for your time, Himari! And I'll be looking forward to your return!" Rikka flies happily with Himari's decision.
Subaru looks at his Digimon and smiles at them. "Draco, Leo, thank you so much for being with me on this journey. We had good times and bad times, but in the end everything worked out."
"Don't worry, Subaru! We also loved the time we spent with you!" Draco/Wargreymon says happily to Subaru.
"I really enjoyed it too, but... will you ever come back?" Leo/Metalgarurumon says, somewhat saddened by Subaru's departure.
"..." Subaru looks up at the sky, reflecting on that question, before he can think any further, a blond child holding a Numemon stuffed animal appears in front of him.
"Hey, Subaru-Kun!" Luche runs to Subaru's side and looks at him with puppy dog eyes. "You... you'll come back, right?"
Subaru looks at Luche, then turns his gaze to his Digimon before speaking. "Of course, I'll come back when I can!"
Subaru smiles at the three, who rejoice at the words of the young man with the mischievous look.
In a few moments, Kouta and Himari cross the portal, Subaru would be the last to cross. He was about to enter, but stops walking, looks at everyone and gives a final wave with his hand, saying goodbye to them.
Subaru quickly crosses the portal, expecting to see data and particles as he returns home. But... he sees nothing. Literally nothing.
Subaru's surroundings are a vast emptiness, nothing was audible, nothing was visible, nothing was felt, everything was a dark void..

Until a voice is heard.
"I love you..."
Subaru couldn't hear it clearly, but he was sure he heard something. He grabs his cell phone, which was attached to a holder on his left arm (just like the protagonist of the PSP/3DS game), turns on the flashlight on his cell phone, and looks around.
As expected, the flashlight sees nothing. In fact... there was nothing there at all.
"I love you..."
Subaru heard the voice again, this time a little louder. He looked around frantically, trying to shout to call whoever was there, but nothing came out of his mouth.
Subaru was confused, but soon the voice returned.
"I love you, I love you, I love you..."
Subaru became increasingly confused. This time he looked ahead, but at the same moment his body froze.
He tried to move, but nothing happened, nothing, nothing, he couldn't do anything.
Soon a figure shrouded in a black and frightening aura emerged in front of Subaru.
He couldn't move, speak, walk, feel, smell, taste, he was a statue.
The figure, now more visible, was clearly a woman wearing black clothes, a black cloak on her head that covered almost her entire face, leaving only her mouth visible.

The woman repeated the same phrase as she approached Subaru, who was unable to do anything, completely helpless before her.
The woman continued to approach Subaru. "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you..."
Subaru trembled, clearly afraid and nervous. That person didn't seem to be a Digimon or anything like that, besides, the young man didn't even know if there was a Digimon with that ability.

Slowly, she raised her arms toward his face. Subaru felt the woman's cold, icy touch as she approached his face before speaking one last time.
"...I love you..."
With that sentence, Subaru felt his body begin to weaken, his legs felt heavy, and his eyelids felt like they weighed tons.
Slowly, Subaru loses consciousness and faints... .

Gradually, Subaru opened his eyes, with the vast light illuminating him after being in an environment completely lacking in light. His eyes hurt as he got used to the sudden light.
Subaru quickly regains consciousness and looks around. He sees an environment that appears to be medieval, with people walking around in relatively strange clothes... but that's not what catches his attention the most. Rather, it's that they don't even look like people.
Many of them look like a mixture of animals and humans, and they don't look like Digimon either.
"Am I... am I still in DigiWorld?" Subaru wonders.
He feels his cell phone vibrate, looks at it, and sees something strange. A notification appears on his cell phone.[Digitamas incubating, please wait until birth]Soon the image of two Digitamas appears on Subaru's screen.
"They... they're with me?..." Subaru wondered, he quickly put his cell phone back on his arm rest and looked around, before returning his thoughts to the previous situation. "But... who was that woman?..."

Note: In case you're curious about what clothes Subaru is wearing, they are the clothes of the protagonist of Digimon World Retigitize, but the aviator glasses are hanging around his neck and not on his head.
Last thing, this story will be based on the game's combat system. So the attacks they use will be the attacks they can learn and use in the game itself.
