Chapter 1: When Your Alien Boyfriend Leaves for Yellowstone and His Friends Randomly Barge Into Your (SHARED) Cabin
Chapter Text
I was sitting in Harry’s cabin in my full form, enjoying the way his scent seemed to envelop everything around me as I was lying in his bed when I heard the door open. Jumping up immediately and almost hitting my head on the rafters I let out a small chitter. Was he home early? He’d said he’d be gone for a few days- off to investigate something with the greys and the mayor. I wasn’t really paying attention when he was telling me about it to be honest. I wasn’t too worried about it.
Anyway, I’d basically tuned everything else out in my excitement. Only a day away from him and I felt like a lost puppy. These emotions were getting ridiculous. I stumbled out of the bedroom doorway expecting to envelop my wonderful boyfriend in my arms, when instead my open embrace was met with a gaggle of confused humans. I thought I caught the tail end of a sentence- something about the cabin, but I honestly didn’t care. Now I was just mad Harry wasn’t here. And who are these people in his cabin? Our cabin?
I stared down at them for a moment, unblinking. It was two women and a man. I think I recognized them…Asta, yes. I didn’t care for her. And..Darcy, and Dan? Yes, that was their names. Dan was nice. He made Harry’s favorite pies. That was besides the point, the point is Dan seems completely uninterested and the other two are looking at me like I’m the weird one. They’re the ones in my boyfriend’s house, so I really don’t think they have room to talk but ok.
“Asta, why is there a second alien in the cabin.”
That was the red haired one. Oh, Dan’s back. And he’s holding a pan. He’s walking towards me. I felt metal connect with my head then and yelped, falling to the ground and letting out a hiss.
“What the fuck?”
“It talks.”
That was Dan. He seemed less nice now. Asta and what’s her name were closer to me now. I stood, stumbling slightly but feeling too crowded on the floor. Now I’m just pissed off- Harry’s not here, there’s people in the cabin, and I have a headache. Ridiculous. I finally spoke up after a moment of staring down at them.
“Why. Are you in Harry’s cabin?”
It sounded off but I didn’t really care. I really don’t care for anything but lying back down in Harry’s bed right now. And they just kept staring at me like I was crazy. Rude.
“I think the better question is why are you in Harry’s cabin?”
I blinked. This is insane.
“I would say Asta that I’m. here because I’m allowed to be here? I couldn’t however, say the same for you.”
I shoved past them, walking to the kitchen. I just wanted one day to sit in my alien form and enjoy myself. If that included rolling around in my boyfriend’s bed, then so what? It’s not like he would mind. Now there are three humans in the cabin acting like I’m the weird one. I hate this planet. I wish Harry would just come home with me. He would like my planet much more.
They followed me to the kitchen, apparently insistent on continuing to ruin my day. Dan had walked out the door though so at least there was one less. I started making myself a cup of coffee. Even if I didn’t really like it the warmth soothed me. I held the warm cup in my hands, turning towards the two still in the house.
“So. You are Harry’s friends?”
“Yea…and you are?”
I sighed, swishing around the coffee.
“Humans cannot pronounce my name. I have chosen Asher, or Ash, as a replacement.”
I brought the mug to where my lips would be before realizing all too late I wasn’t in human form and spilling hot coffee all over myself. Great. Now I have to shower too. I need to take my normal form more, I’m getting too used to being human. I received more stares and a sigh from Darcy who seemed disinterested as well now. Thank god- maybe they’d leave soon.
“And why are you in Harry’s house?”
Asta again. She doesn’t even seem to stop talking. Just another reason I don’t like her.
“Because I am what your species call his ‘boyfriend’. Even thought neither of our species technically have genders, we seem to have both adapted well to the ‘male’ stereotype.”
“Ok…and why are you green? And why are you so big? I thought the green aliens didn’t exist.”
I rolled my eyes. Or I would’ve if I had pupils I guess.
“A common misconception. We do exist, but we are not ‘little’ and we are not nearly as interested in Earth as your species thinks.”
This is tiring. People don’t talk to my human form this much. I wish Harry were here.
“Ok. Well, we were just here to…do some stuff that Harry asked us to do. We won’t be long..Ash.”
“Oh thank god! I feared you would be here forever. I will be in the bedroom rolling around in Harry’s scent if you need me for whatever reason. I probably won’t help though. I don’t particularly like either of you.”
I left after that, cleaning myself off and finally lying back down. I let my tail flick around happily, burying my face in his pillow. This will hold me over until he’s back.
Bonus scene ahhh
“How are we gonna burn his clothes now if that- whatever it is in the bedroom?”
“I dunno but can we talk about that last thing it said? About rolling around in his scent? What does that even mean?”
Asta sighed, putting her hands on her friend’s shoulders.
“Think Darc! We need to burn his clothes so the cops don’t find them, how are we gonna do that-“
The door opened just then, revealing a tired looking Harry who tossed a suitcase to the side before finally taking notice of the two people in his kitchen.
“Asta! What are you doing here?”
She turned to look at him, throwing her hands up dramatically.
“I dunno Harry, what is another alien doing here?”
Just then there was a rumbling from down the hall, and a sound like someone hit their head before the big alien from before came barreling out.
“Harry! You’re back!”
He immediately enveloped the man in a bone crushing hug, almost lifting him off the ground.
“I missed you so much. You’re never leaving without me again.”
He loosened his grip slightly to get a better look at the other man’s face staring into his eyes.
“If I’m being honest I really really just wanna have sex with you right now.”
He watched as Harry’s face flushed a light pink, giggling.
“And that’s our cue to leave! I will see you later Harry.”
Asta dragged Darcy out with her, slamming the door shut.
The bigger alien sighed, setting the other down.
“Thank god. I thought they’d never leave.”
He looked back over at Harry, about to speak before noticing the tent in his pants. He seemed almost nervous as he spoke, it was adorable.
“Do you..still want to make love?”
“Aww of course babe. C’mere.”

Chapter Text
Sitting in Harry’s bed in alien form felt comforting for some reason. I think it was the way he made me feel- safe, comforted, happy. I hadn’t felt that on Earth in a long time before I met him. Maybe that’s why I was so sad he’d left for a few days. It’d felt like ages! I’d survived thousands of years but this- this had to have been the most drawn out time of my existence. Of course it was New York, and of course it was another alien. Was I not enough for him already? Maybe we’re not the same species but we’ve still shared the same experiences! I shouldn’t be feeling this way. But then again when you choose a mate on my planet you don’t leave for a week to seek out other aliens.
As I was lost in my thoughts I heard the door open. For a moment I felt slightly excited before realizing it was much too early in the day for Harry to be home already.
I stepped out of the bedroom in human form- much to my inconvenience- to look around. I expected a home intruder but was met with a fate much worse. The mayor. He was with Liv who I did like much more but it didn’t make the situation any better.
“What are you doing here?”
My intention of scaring him clearly worked as he jumped what seemed like ten feet and turned to look at me.
“Jesus!- you scared me!”
“Do not use the lords name in vain. Isn’t that a rule? And you still didn’t tell me why you’re here.”
Liv seemed much less startled by my presence but I think she expected me to be here. She was the first- and only- person I told when me and Harry started dating.
“Hey Ash! We were just gonna set up a party for Harry for his birthday..it was the mayors idea.”
She said the last part quieter like she was scared of him hearing. Weird. The mayor is nothing to be scared of. He is scared of everything.
“Harry does not like birthdays. Or surprises. And I think he will be tired after his…medical conference.”
Well at least most of that wasn’t a lie. I don’t think Harry even knew it was ‘his’ birthday today. And he definitely didn’t like surprises. Especially when it included people gathering in his house.
“Well I think a surprise party would be great for Harry, so we’ll set up and leave you alone.”
That’s code for ‘I want it to happen so it’s happening’. I rolled my eyes and walked back to the bedroom, shutting and locking the door behind me. I was too tired to deal with him right now. I sent Harry a text to let him know what was happening. At least it wouldn’t be a surprise that there was a group of people in his house now. I decided to lie back down and take a nap. If I had to deal with people I at least wanted to be well rested.
I woke up a few hours later to Harry’s voice.
“Get out of my house!”
Yea. That’s about the reaction I expected. I sighed, setting my head back down against the pillow. This is gonna be a long night.
Just then the door slammed open, revealing mayor what’s his name as he carelessly threw a bag onto the bed. Rude. I watched as Harry made a nosedive for it-catching it right before it hit the floor. I laughed a little sitting up.
“What’s in the bag that’s so important?”
His head snapped toward me as he gripped it to his chest, giving me a smile I deciphered as nervous.
“Nothing! Nothing is in the bag! There is definitely not an alien baby in my bag.”
I threw the covers off myself and stood up, walking towards him.
“Harry. Is there an alien baby in your bag right now?”
“No! I told you already that there is definitely not an alien egg in my bag right now!”
“You’re really bad at lying Harry.”
He sighed, eyes darting around the room.
“Ok fine there may be a small chance that there is an alien babies egg in my bag right now.”
I blinked, looking between him and the bag. What the fuck.
“But if there were an alien egg in my bag right now then I would need to get it to the bunker immediately!”
He looked actually concerned for once so I followed him out of the room, pushing the mayors wife out of the way when she tried to start a conversation with us. I watched him place it down under a bench in the bunker before turning to look at me. I could tell he was nervous. I was a bit too angry to care at the moment though.
“Harry what the fuck! You can’t just bring an alien baby back from New York! What were you thinking?”
“But it is one of my people! I could not just leave it there alone- it will need me when it hatches!”
I pinched the bridge of my nose, grinding my teeth together. He cannot be serious about this.
“Harry it’s an entire child! I’m not ready to be a father, and you certainly aren’t ready to have a child in your care.”
“Wha- I will be a great father! I am good at parently things! Maybe if you are so unsure about raising a child with me then you should leave!”
Ok now I know he’s not being serious. He sounds like he’s quoting one of those old 90’s dramas he watches.
“Really? You’re breaking up with me over some- some fucking thing that you don’t even know? Fine! Maybe I will leave then.”
“Good! You should leave. You would not be good for the child anyway.”
I threw my hands up, taking a few steps back towards the ladder.
“Fine! I will! In fact, I’ll just go home! I’ll call my people and I’ll go back to my planet asshole! You’ll never have to see me again!”
That’s a lie. My people won’t send a ship for me for another thousand or so years.
“Good! I do not want to see you or your stupid green face ever again.”
That one hurt. I climbed out of the bunker as quickly as I could and went out the basement window, deciding I didn’t want to deal with any of the people upstairs. I ran off a ways into the woods, stopping when I reached the edge of the lake. I let myself collapse to the ground, staring up at the sky. I should have never come here. I have visited every corner of this planet and the only good thing I’d ever found just left me over a stupid alien baby.
I sat there for a few hours, shifting into my alien form after a bit. Sure the shifts were tiring but to me there was nothing worse than being stuck in a mortal meat sack. I wasn’t exactly sure what to do. Should I apologize? Would he accept it? Maybe the way I reacted was a little ridiculous, but I mean come on. He brought home a child. I can’t take care of a kid- I can barely take care of human pets. I stood and stared down into the lake, but that stared back was emotionless eyes. I decided then I needed to go back and apologize. I loved him. I didn’t want to hurt him. I just had to hope he’d accept it now.
I started the trek back a few minutes later, collecting myself the best I could. Hopefully all the humans had left by now. I really didn’t feel like changing back and honestly I didn’t want to talk to anyone but Harry. I made it to his cabin after about five minutes- thank you long legs- and inspected the area to make sure everyone had left. Much to my dismay there were still a few cars there. I peeked in through a window and much to my dismay saw possibly my least favorite human. Asta and the red haired one- which I didn’t mind as much, but she was a bit annoying.
I won’t lie part of my dislike of Asta may have been jealously for her closeness with Harry. I didn’t quite trust her not to try and steal him I guess, which sure is childish but to me was a valid concern. Now though her and red hair were arguing about something which I didn’t quite care about. Harry was sitting in a chair at the dining table staring up at the ceiling. I tapped on the window to get his attention, watching as he glanced over before sitting up as he saw me. I motioned towards the two girls behind him and hoped he would understand and thank god he did. He said something to them that red hair rolled her eyes at before they walked outside, supposedly to continue to argue.
I opened the window and climbed in before shutting it behind me, dusting myself off before I felt arms wrap around my waist.
“I thought I would never see you again!”
I managed to turn around in his grip bending down so I could wrap my arms around him.
“I could never really leave you Harry, you should know that by now.”
He pulled away and looked up at me smiling with all his teeth. Absolutely adorable.
“Look, I’m sorry I was upset you brought the egg home. I guess the idea and the thought I’d fuck it up just scared me.”
“It is ok. I am sorry I told you to leave. I did not really want you to leave.”
If I had a mouth I would’ve smiled at that. I ran a hand through his hair, humming.
“Do you really think my face is stupid?”
“Of course I do not think your face is stupid! You are the second most beautiful alien I have ever seen!”
I raised an imaginary eyebrow, looking down at him.
“Oh and who’s the first?”
“Me. I am very handsome.”
I held back a laugh pulling him back into another hug.
“Yea. Yea you are.”
