VIGNETTE

Summary:

Just a place to put random short pieces because I am trying to write every day and I am Zenitsu-ship brainrotted

Chapter 1: GenZen 1

Notes:

I'm still trying to figure out this whole formatting thing here on Ao3 as I usually just write in Google Docs and paste it here, so bear with me, lol.

Anyways, enjoy GenZen bickering, because I didn't really have any ideas other than Zenitsu being the big spoon between them (I'm a sucker for taller little spoon x shorter big spoon XD)

Chapter Text

It was hot. Like, really, really hot.

It was mid-summer, and Zenitsu was sincerely trying to get to sleep, but with sweat sticking to his skin and the noisy droning of the fan and the absolute giant cuddled right up to him despite the heat, he was failing. Miserably.

Now, one of these problems was very easy to solve. He could turn away, roll to the other side of the bed instead of keeping his arms wrapped around the blazing chunk of flesh he called his partner, but… his problem here lied with the fact he could barely sleep without him anymore.

Since they’d gotten together, Zenitsu was practically glued to Genya’s side. As much as they both got on each other’s nerves and had their spats about trivial things, Zenitsu couldn’t help but physically weld himself to the other boy. He’d always had an affinity for holding onto things, so naturally it stuck – well, he stuck – when they started dating.

Hence why he was currently sacrificing his comfort to also, somehow, preserve his comfort.

“Zenitsu. It’s the middle of the night. What are you doing?” He heard a voice hiss at him.

He hadn’t noticed it himself, but he must have been moving quite a lot to wake Genya. He winced, a little guilty.

“I’m sorry!! It’s just really hot, but I don’t want to move!!” He whispered back, pouting with embarrassment at his self-inflicted dilemma.

“Just move? I’m hot too, dude!!”

“But you’re comfy…”

“But you’re disturbing my sleep. We both have lectures in the morning!!”

Genya attempted to pry Zenitsu’s hands from around his waist, but to no avail. He sighed, feebly whacking one of the boy’s hands.

“...Maybe we just need more fans?” Zenitsu weakly suggested, trying to subtly wipe off the sweat from his forehead onto Genya’s shirt. It was already soaked anyway.

“You’re so annoying, you know that?”

Genya scoffed and dug his head into his pillow once more, trying to get back to sleep despite the yellow-haired parasite clinging to his back. It could be worse, he supposed.
