Oh, I know you and your schemes

Summary:

Poseidon was very proud. But he also felt uneasy. He tried to ignore the feeling—after all, it was time to celebrate, Kronos had lost, this time definitively—but the uneasiness wouldn't leave him.

And when he caught Zeus staring at Percy a little too long, just as Ganymede was pouring him a drink, everything clicked.

Seven seas, no.

Poseidon was prouder than he'd been since the days of Francis Drake.

His kingdom was safe, Amphitrite had softened for Percy (Triton will get there later, he was sure of it), and Zeus had to thank him in front of their entire family. And the world hadn't ended.

Yes, Poseidon was very proud.

He wanted to believe his brother wouldn't stoop so low, but the problem was, he knew Zeus. He knew what he was capable of.

He wouldn't hesitate if he wanted to. And that's what he feared.

Poseidon had to do something. And he had to see if he could count on Annabeth Chase.

He found Athena's daughter talking to some nymphs. The nymphs left as soon as he approached, and swirling his glass in a seemingly random fashion, he said," So, you and my son…"

Annabeth seemed ready for a speech bordering on passive aggressive with him.

Poseidon understood her caution: he had no doubt that Athena had already filled her head with the idea that any relationship with her son was a bad idea. It was exactly what Athena would do.

But Poseidon didn't want to hinder their relationship. First, Sally would find a way to make him pay. Second, demigods' lives were already so short. Why not sweeten it with love? Who cared who it came from? As long as it wasn't Zeus.

"Yes, we are friends. Do you have any problems with this, my lord?"

Poseidon smiled mischievously. Just friends? He doubted anyone would give up immortality just for a friend, but it wasn't his place to comment. If anything, he had more to talk about.

" Oh no, not at all. If I tried to say something, I'm sure Percy would convince Amphitrite and Triton to dethrone me and send me to Tartarus for the next two millennia."

Annabeth Chase nodded," Probably."

" So...since you two seemed so good friends ... I want to make sure you're prepared. Do you know, for the future."

The demigod looked at him curius," Prepared?"

"As you noticed, Percy is cute. Like, really cute. There is no doubt that he will be extremely sexy as an adult."

Not to mention that Aphrodite seemed fond of the boy, and Poseidon knew well what kind of blessings she bestowed. He remembered Helen.

"Yes, so…?" The girl asked, not sure what his point was.

Poseidon looked very serious," Well, my brother has a type when it comes to men...black hair...with an attitude...sexy..."

As if someone had told him it was his time, Ganymede passed by them, busy and so dull.
Once upon a time, he'd been such a nice, cheerful boy, smiling at everyone, cheering up Olympus. Now he was dull.

There was no need to even ask why: Zeus had lost interest in his new toy and had cast him aside, forgotten, just as Hera had done.
Ganymede was alone, immortal, with the occasional company of Apollo or Eros, but his life was very lonely.

And he saw the way Annabeth Chase's gaze sharpened as she took in the cupbearer's black hair, his green eyes, his lonely yet familiar expression.

And since she was her mother's daughter, she immediately understood what he was trying to say.

Don't let Zeus make Percy another Ganymede.

"I'll cut Zeus' throat if he even dares to look at Percy," she said, a promise in her eyes, and every intention of keeping it.
Poseidon believed her. That girl would burn Olympus to the ground for Percy.

She wasn't afraid to go against the King of the Gods himself. And she was smart, cunning.

Qualities his brother too often underestimated in women, and that could be used against him.

If Zeus tried to be cunning, he'd find a match for him.

Poseidon smiled at her. "Remember, whatever you need, I'll help you. In any way, Annabeth Chase."

Notes:

After Percy's disappearence

Zeus, locked in a small, small Cage: This Is madeness! It wasn't me, Brother!

Poseidon: Likes It wasn't you with Europa? Danae? Ganymedes?! Who do you think we are?

Menwhile Hera Is very, very pleased and no way she will say anything.
