Summary:

“Besides,” Style continues, taking a measured step toward Fadel and placing his hand on his boyfriend’s chest, “Imagine how much sweeter it will be tomorrow after we spend all night missing each other.”

Notes:

baby, I can’t really miss you when I’m with you
and when I miss you, it’ll change the way I kiss you

Work Text:

“Fadellllll,” Style whines, “It’s just Boys Night! C’mon! Don’t you want to spend time with Bison?”

“I do,” Fadel says, “I want to spend time with you and Bison.”

Style does not point out that he forgot to mention Kant. He knows it was intentional.

“But we always hang out with all four of us. Kant and I haven’t had any Bro Time at all! And neither have you and Bison,” Style explains. “It’ll be good for us.”

Fadel stares at him blankly, unconvinced.

“Besides,” Style continues, taking a measured step toward Fadel and placing his hand on his boyfriend’s chest, “Imagine how much sweeter it will be tomorrow after we spend all night missing each other.”

Fadel’s eyes slip closed and he leans forward, unconsciously, into Style’s touch.

He knows he has Fadel. Style pulls back abruptly before Fadel has the chance to close the gap between them. But before he can go too far, Fadel grabs Style by the hips and drags him back, flush against his chest. Style’s arms wrap around his neck automatically.

“Promise me,” Fadel says, leaning his forehead against Style’s, “That you’ll make it up to me.”

He places a kiss on Fadel’s nose. “Promise.”

Fadel sighs and relaxes his grip on Style.

“It’s gonna be fun, Fadel. You’ll see.”

“It’s not me I’m worried about,” Fadel says, turning his back on Style and picking up a crate of car parts off the floor of the garage. “You’re the one who is going to get lonely and call me in the middle of the night. Or just abandon Kant altogether and show up in our bed.”

Style’s jaw drops. “You really think I’m incapable of spending one night away from my – undeniably incredibly hot – boyfriend?”

Fadel shrugs.

“Oh yeah?” Style says, approaching Fadel and shoving a finger in his chest. “Well, I think it’s you who’s going to come crawling back to me in the middle of the night.”

Fadel only shrugs again. “We’ll see.”

///

Fadel wakes to the sound of a key in the latch at the front door. After all these years, he’s still a light sleeper. Especially without Style in his arms.

He knows it’s him by the sound of his footfalls on the stairs. He closes his eyes and feigns sleep as Style sneaks into their room.

He carefully makes his way to the bed and tries to slot in next to Fadel without waking him. He thinks he has succeeded until Fadel grabs him around the waist and pulls him in, Style’s back to Fadel’s chest.

Fadel huffs out a laugh at Style’s yelp of surprise. “Missed me too much?” he mumbles into Style’s neck.

“Stop gloating,” Style pouts. “Yeah, I caved. What are you gonna do about it?”

Fadel presses a kiss to the back of Style’s neck and tightens his arms around his waist. “I missed you too,” he says, quietly.

Style smiles and closes his eyes, and they both drift off to sleep.

bonus:

Bison is on the couch when Style sneaks in. He texts Kant, “Don’t freak out when you wake up and Style’s not there. He just snuck upstairs.”

Several hours later, Kant texts back, “Pathetic. On my way over with breakfast.”

Style will never hear the end of this.

An early upload! A bit of a fluffy reprieve before more angst (sorry not sorry)
