Summary:

Pomni, a newly promoted chief strategist who has only ever maintained professional relationships.

Jax, a dedicated driver who has never had anything more than what he considers an acquaintance.

However, as time goes on and close becomes closer, both Jax and Pomni come to an alarming realization: it may be about more than just the job.

Jobs:

PR officer- manages the reputation, media relations, and communication strategies for teams, drivers, and the FIA

Chief strategist- Tactical leader on the pit wall (trackside), responsible for developing and implementing the race plan, managing tyre usage, and making high-pressure, split-second decisions on pit stops during a Grand Prix

Executive assistant- Provides administrative support to senior leadership and drivers, focusing on complex travel logistics, diary management, and acting as gatekeeper in a fast paced environment

Technical director- Leads the entire technical organization of a team, ensuring the car is safe, legal, and fast

Performance coach- Optimizes a driver's physical fitness, mental sharpness, nutrition, and recovery to ensure peak performance under extreme pressure

Team principal & Sporting director- The CEO and figurehead; manages overall performance, politics, and strategy. also oversees trackside activity, driver performance, and ensures regulatory compliance

Race engineer- Analyzes data, communicates via radio to drivers in order to optimize lap times, and works with mechanics to set up the car

Trackside engineering director- Leads the trackside engineering team to maximize car performance, tyre usage, and operational efficiency during race weekends

Aerodynamicist- Designs and optimizes the car's exterior surfaces to maximize downforce and minimize drag

Tyre engineer- Optimizes car performance by analyzing tyre data, simulating wear, and determining compound choices, pressures, and temperatures for maximum grip

Chief engineer trackside- oversees all technical operations, reliability, and car performance during a race weekend, acting as the primary liaison between the team and the FIA for technical compliance

 

Races/other terms:

Grand Prix- Main race; occurs on weekends; 24 a season

Sprint race- Smaller races that are placed within grand prix race weekends; 6 a season

Grand Prix/Sprint poles- Determined in qualifying rounds prior to the race; pole position is when a driver wins first place in the qualifying rounds, and therefore is first in the starting lineup of the grand prix or sprint race

Grand Prix/Sprint top 10's- Also determined in qualifying rounds prior to the race; earned by a driver placing in the top 10 (only 10 drivers make it to the last out of 3 qualifying rounds. in the previous 2, five drivers are eliminated each time)

DHL fastest laps- A sponsored award given to drivers who complete the fastest lap in a given grand prix or sprint race

DNF's- Stands for "did not finish", which means a driver was unable to finish a race due to injury or other complications
