Chapter Text
Alexander Hamilton sat at his desk writing. Like always. The man never took a break. Never. He usually blew off his friends, his girlfriend(when he used to have one), his brother. The only two people he would actually see every time were his boss, George Washington, and his best friend, John Laurens.
Buzz Buzz
Hamilton's phone vibrated against his desk. He tried to ignore it but whoever this was was persistent. Hamilton groaned in annoyance as he snatched his phone. Something in the groupchat.
John
(Whos coming to the protest today???)
Hercules

Lafayette
(I can't make it my friend. Sorry)
Alexander
(I have work to do)
John
(Okay fucking magaots!)
Lafayette
(Please, you are a snowflake! God damn gen z’s!!!)
(Have fun 😀)
Hamilton groaned at the inconvenience and threw his phone down again, turning his attention to the paper he was writing.
BRR BRR
Hamilton looked at his phone again, debating weather he should pick in up or just leave it to ring. He assumed it was just more group chat fluff so he just ignored it. But who ever this was was persistent. Hamilton eventually gave out and snatched his phone up.
UNKNOWN NUMBER CALLING
Hamilton tilted his head in confusion. Maybe it was work, maybe Laf made it like that so he would pick up, maybe it was just some scam call. But he did pick up. "Yes?"
"Are you Alexander Hamilton?" A monotone voice asked.
"Yes. Why? What is this?"
The person over the phone was all too monotone for what they were saying. Did they have no heart?
Alex, for the first time in his life he was confused. "What? For what?'
Alexander nodded stressed. His stomach turned and twisted. It felt like it was inside out as his heart jumped up to his throat.
"What!? Can I see him? Where he is he?!?!" Alex ran out of his room and into the living room. He felt like he was about to barf. His whole world spun around him.
Eliza looked up from her phone. "Whats going on?" She asked. Eliza lived with him, they meet in high school, tried dating but both realized they were better off as friends, than became roommates
Alexander responded by putting a finger out to shush her as he continued to grip his phone so hard it could almost break. After he hung up the phone he turned to Eliza. "John was shot in a protest, I need to go see him"
