Chapter Text
“This war can’t go on like this,” said the lanky skeleton as he paced. With his hand rubbing the underside of his chin, he marched up and down the room.
“Calm yourself X. The others will come to their senses sure enough,” The human god insists as a response to the other’s panicked behavior,” They all know that this war cannot continue for eternity. Sooner or later they will have to be satisfied by what each possesses–”
The skeleton swiftly moves in front of their peer from where they sit. Bitterness rises in his voice,” You don’t know that! They are dividing the realms, destroying the work of the Creators above! What if we don’t get the chance to finish this before the Creators take matters into their own hands?”
“Are you saying you think the Creators will erase us? Along with all of their hard work? X listen to yourself? Do you truly think that–”
“I don’t know what I think, Core. All I’m suggesting is that you can’t ignore possibilities simply because they aren’t preferable,” The skeleton sighed as he regained his composure.
A long silence fell upon the room as both thought of what to say next.
“I understand your concerns, X. I really do,” the human god stood from their seat as they spoke,” but I don’t think the Creators would just throw us away. They have worked too hard to bring us here. For someone who claims to idolize the Creators I am surprised you have such little faith in them.”
The skeleton visibly tensed and was about to defend himself, but the human stopped him with a swift raise of the hand.
“The Creators are likely to be… disturbed by the recent actions that our fellow gods have taken. Though I find it to be unlikely that they would take such drastic action. I think the Creators are likely to settle this conflict. I just doubt it is in the way you are expecting.”
With a long sigh, the skeleton pinched the bridge of his skull,” And what are you suggesting they’ll do if not simply start over?”
With a mischievous smile the human hummed a response,” They are the Creators, after all. I expect them to create!”
