Xisuma lay in the shrubbery watching Mumbo Jumbo prepare for his big day. Mumbo is the Hermitcraft Servers' favourite Human. Xisuma notes in his file that Mumbo is seeming to sweat.
As part of professional development, half the Hermits were sent to College A in the Server Hub, and the other half were sent to College B. The only Hermits exempt from this were the Hermits who had a doctorate in their chosen field. These Hermits were; Xisuma(Doctorate in Musicology), Docm77(Doctorates in Medicine, Experimental Formulae, Redstone, and Server Management), JoeHills (Doctorate in Puppetry), CubFan135 (Doctorates in Astrophysics, Sculk, Redstone, and Ancient History).
All of the Hermits were asked to undertake a PhD, or a Masters. Xisuma had said to the Hermits that it had been asked that the Hermits do this to gain an understanding of the current world. This was because in their words, "You are all immortals who have seen the creation of the new age, you need to remember how to be mortal."
It had been decided that the Hermits who were Admins, or had Admin like abilities need to undertake a Doctorate in Server Management. They would after the Doctorate be given Admin Tattoos with colours pertaining to what things they do with the server. Grian had tried to argue that given he had done Server Admin for EVO and the Life Series he should be exempt and able to study something else. Xisuma had looked at the newly discovered void hybrid, and pulled up one of his sweater sleeves. The tattoos that had once adorned his skin were pale and disused. Grian had been told in no uncertain terms, that part of the Doctorate was Ethics.
The other Hermits were asked to look into a Doctorate that fascinated them. All Hermits had chosen one. Joe had asked Xisuma if he could go a do a bunch of short courses that he simply had not gotten time to do. These included, and were not limited to; Barista Training, First Aid Refresher, Embroidery, Jewellery making, Website Design, Book Binding and Ceramics.
Xisuma had mentioned to the other Hermits, not Mumbo, that he is going to try to figure out how Mumbo assumed it was that every Hermit was a mortal.
Mumbo sat ontop of the roof of his apartment. The University campus below was quiet, waiting. Mumbo had been within a whirlwind of many, many different emotions. He had for the longest time just accepted that the other Hermits were like him, Human. He had always thought that they were kinda unique but…. they are all Immortal. He wished he could be like JoeHills. Mumbo stares mournfully towards the other campus. He remembered when they had been told to never look at University A.
If only Mumbo knew Joe was standing on the rooftop of University A. Joe lies on the roof staring up into the sky. Mumbo has it so easy. He does not need to deal with being immortal he can die, he does not need to watch world's die and he can…
Reasons Why Mumbo believes everyone is mortal
- He is polite.
- He is an oblivious idiot.
Xisuma stares at the list. When he shows it to Joe, Joe nods.
"Of course he is polite and an oblivious idiot. That's just who Mumbo is. I feel like he is lucky to have that. If only.."
Mumbo is sprinting from the bank, he had been into some sort of heist. For extra credit of course. He had been the distraction, and distraction he was. He had walked in, expecting to be quiet and he had every single immortal pointing at him. He asked, "Hey I need to have water, and there's no water to be had." And a banker had to tell him, "Hey why do you need water?"
Mumbo had then had to explain to the immortals why Humans needed water and how that was quite normal thank you.
The other person on the heist trip realised that they had no tools and started running out screaming. Mumbo then ran out aswell. He ran until he was yanked into an alley where someone, Joe, pulls him close.
Joe murmurs to Mumbo "You fucked up, you need to pretend that we are together and making out. You need to pretend otherwise you will be caught."
The camera click with a bright flash does not help. The thundering of police start to come closer, and Joe pushes Mumbo into the wall, getting into and Mumbo truly wishes it was real.
The Next Hermitcraft meeting is opened with Xisuma detailing the research he did whilst Mumbo did the heist.
