Beach Week

Summary:

Going to the beach is a fun and relaxing time for many humans who wish to get away from their worries for a little while. And the same can be said for kaiju. As such, here's seven short stories all about different kaiju spending time at the beach for an entire week.

Edit: Wow, I actually hit the tag limit with this story!

Chapter Text

Once it had become home to the Royal Family of Monsters, humanity did all that it could to seer clear of the place known on maps as Baas Island. The public often just called it “Monster Island” given those that live there, but never by officials within governments and companies given multiple reasons.

And yet, there is quite the irony that an island within the Pacific Ocean – one close to the Earth's equator – was claimed by monsters. Mostly because outside of its rocky internal and the lush vegetation that it has, the island has the perfect beach which was untouched by man. By the time anyone realized it, the King and Queen of the Monsters made it there home with no company wanting to try waging war against them.

Well, a few CEOs did, but they weren't able to hire anyone dumb enough to try evicting the two kaiju.

And on one stretch of the beaches of this island are a few being who appear as humans though have traits that make it obvious they aren't. On a rock sits the two eldest members of the group, a man and woman sitting side by side who appear to be in their early forties. The former has black hair which reaches the back of his neck with the color matching his thin mustache and beard while the latter has long, reddish pink hair that reaches down to her shoulder blades.

The former is simply wearing a pair of dark grey swim trunks with blue flame patterns, which allow his arms and legs to be shown off. And unlike a human, his forearms to his hands and his shins to his feet are covered in blackish grey scales with small claws tipping his fingers and toes as natural weapons. The woman has similar features on his arms and legs, but the scales on her arms and legs are of a deep red color while wearing a magenta bikini with a red sash wrapped around her waist.

Close to the two is another woman – this one appearing in her early thirties – who stands close to the other two as she looks upward to the sky. She has dark green hair which goes down to her lower back while having a rose next to her right ear with her body covered in a green one-piece swimsuit. Her forearms and lower legs don't have scales like the other two, but instead have vines wrapped around them as if growing from her very skin. And underneath her swimsuit, a faint orange glow could be seen in the middle as if it's hiding another element that sets her apart from them and humans.

The final member of this group, walking over ot the others, is a man whose in his late twenties with him having dark blue hair which reached his shoulders and two small tusks on both corners of his mouth. Unlike the other man, he's wearing a blue Aloha shirt which is opened to show off his chest which pairs nicely with his maroon colored swim trunks. He has scales on his arms and legs like the elder two, but his dark blue scales are joined with small crystals while having a cluster of larger ones on his forehead like a crown.

Should a human look at these four, they would recognize them not as humans but as monsters – those who have threaten humanity time and again due to the arrogance of man. Yet these four are more than just normal kaiju – for they are the Royal Family of Monsters. Godzilla and Gojirin, the respective King and Queen of the Monsters, along with their eldest children Biollante and SpaceGodzilla.

Though as they sit there, Gojirin looks around rather anxiously with the fingers on one hand tapping against her knee. Godzilla glances over before gently taking her hand into his own and giving it a soft squeeze which makes her turn to him. He gives a small smile as he leans in and kisses her cheek.

“Worry about Junior?” He asks in a quiet whisper.

“Yeah...he should have come back by now,” Gojirin replies, “M-Maybe I should have gone with him. Made sure nothing would happen to him.”

“Mom, relax,” Biollante says, turning towards her parents, “Junior just went out to see his princess. I doubt they'd want to harm him if he truly trusts them.”

“Yeah, he should be alright,” SpaceGodzilla replies in a gentle tone, “Besides, he'd have contacted us with his telepathy if he was in trouble.”

Godzilla looks back at Gojirin, giving her a loving smile while he communicates to her with just his eyes alone. The Queen of Monsters takes in all that was said and gives a nod while she does a short breathing exercise to calm herself. Gojirin had unfortunately been suffering with anxiety for much of her life, which only grew as they found and adopted their two eldest and then had their youngest. Her children meant the world to her, which made her anxiety even worse than before.

Honestly, Godzilla has always been concerned that her anxiety would lead to him losing her. It was a reality he'd not like to face, leading him to helping calm her and getting others to help teach her ways to manage her anxiety. It was still a work in progress, but to Gojirin it has helped her greatly.

As he focuses on his lovely wife, his thoughts are snapped back to reality when he hears his daughter.

“Mothra's here.”

Blinking, Godzilla turns his head with Gojirin leaning forward to look in the same direction as they see three other monsters who appear as humans. Yet unlike the Royal Family of Monsters, these three had pairs of butterfly wings coming from their backs with different patterns on them.

The one who the Royal Family of Monsters recognize as Mothra herself appears as a woman in her early thirties with long hair that touches her back. Her hair is mostly white with an orange stripe down the middle and short, thin antenna from her hair. Yet outside of that and her butterfly wings which have patterns of yellow, red-orange, and black on them, she appears like a normal human with her wearing an orange tube top and a white wrap skirt.

On her left side is a man of similar age, though having pure black spiky hair while having five yellow horns on his forehead which have a gentle glow to them. His wings are pure black with red designs on them which have faint yellow borders around them with his wings shifting as the man rolls his shoulders. He wears a pair of black swim trunks which have similar red designs as his wings which allows others to see his chest and the scars on his body.

To the right of Mothra is another woman – this one in her late teens to early twenties – who has similar hair to her mother but with a black stripe and her hair braided into a pony tail. Her wings have patterns of black, pale green, white, and yellow on them with her having long, thin feathery antenna from her hair. Over her body is a light green bikini with a green veil skirt around her waist which matched her wings and helped highlight them as well.

Just looking at them, Godzilla smiles as he knows full well that this wasn't just Mothra, but also the family of divine moths. Much like himself, Mothra had taken a mate in the form of her counterpart Battra and had children of her own. He'd recognize Mothra Lea anywhere, one of the twins which the older divine moths had to continue their legacy once they disappeared.

Although, the other twin's missing...

“Hello, everyone,” Mothra says upon the trio reaching them, giving a bow as Battra and Lea do the same, “It's good to see you all again.”

“Welcome to Baas Island,” Gojirin tells them, standing up as she, Biollante, and SpaceGodzilla give a bow in return, “Just curious, where's Leo at?”

“Oh, he headed out earlier,” Lea answers with a smile, “Said something about meeting his boyfriend before meeting us.”

“Well, ain't that funny,” Godzilla states, having an arrogant smirk on his face.

Everyone turns to him as he jumps off the rock and takes a few steps to stand next to Mothra and Battra who look back at him. The former is confused as she tilts her head, but the latter instantly begins to glare at the King of the Monsters who keeps his smirk.

“What's funny?” Battra asks with obvious annoyance.

“Well, I believe you said that Mothra once had a vision about two joined families,” Godzilla answers, stroking his chin as if thinking about it, “Who were they again? Ah yes, the Royal Family and the divine moths.”

“Seriously, Goji?” Gojirin asks, her face having a deadpan expression.

“Oh, here we go again,” SpaceGodzilla states as he rolls his eyes and Biollante places her hand on her forehead.

“Godzilla, please don't bring that up,” Mothra says, unaware of Lea shaking her head, “Yes, I had a vision of our families being joined and it seemed to have just been false. Is it really necessary that you mock what I saw after all this time?”

“I'm not mocking you,” Godzilla replies while keeping his smirk, “Just pointing out how your magic seemed to have lied to you.”

“Will you stop this?!” Battra shouts, stepping forward and getting into the monster king's face as their smirk grows, “Who cares that our families aren't joined! You have been gifted many heirs to the throne while Mothra and I have children to call our own! So why are you still mocking my wife?!”

“Dad, what's wrong?”

Hearing the voice, everyone turns towards the ocean as they see two more monsters appearing as humans walking up to them with the two being very close to each other. One of these monsters is a divine moth while the other monster – standing to the moth's right – is the youngest of the royal family.

The divine moth appears near identical to Lea except as a man, having white hair with a black stripe going down the middle with feathery antenna coming out of it. However, their antenna appear as thicker feathers with his hair only reaching his shoulders while his wings having patterns of green, orange, and black on them. He wears a black tank top which shows off his midriff and a green speedo which seems to make his legs appear longer than they are.

On the other hand, the other monster is a man who appears in his early twenties with him almost seeming to be the same age as the divine moth. He has green hair which is tied into a short, low hanging pony tail with his forearms and lower legs covered in green scales with small claws on his fingers and toes akin to Godzilla and Gojirin. Unlike the other men, he wears a dark green shorty wet suit over his body with it having golden yellow trimming and allows his limbs to be shown.

To the two families of monsters, they recognize these two as the missing members of their respective families. For the divine moth is Mothra Leo, Lea's twin brother and the second of the children which Mothra and Battra had. The other kaiju is Godzilla Junior, the youngest of the Royal Family of Monsters.

“Oh, Junior,” Gojirin says, holding her heart as she lets out a breath.

“Oh...sorry, mom,” Junior tells her, looking guilty as he grabs his arm nervously. He of all people should know well about his mother's anxiety, yet he quickly realized that he seems to have caused it to spike again.

“Hi, Leo!” Lea greets openly while waving at her twin brother who waves back happily.

“It's fine, Leo,” Mothra tells her youngest son, “Just your father getting into an argument.”

“Ah,” Leo simply says, nods in understanding.

As the two monsters stand just ten feet from the other members of their families, Junior looks around as he seems to scan them before glancing over to Leo. Leo glances over as he seems to blush before nodding, almost as if talking to each other without words.

Which, given Junior's telepathic powers and the divine moth's having similar powers, is what they were doing.

Clearing his throat, the youngest of the Royal Family gets his family's attention before he says, “Father, mother, I...I have something to tell you. I've been keeping it to myself for some time, but...well, now seems like a good moment to come clean.”

“And I as well,” Leo states as he looks to his own family, “Mom, dad, I've been thinking about telling you something that I've been keeping secret and...well, I'm done trying to hide it.”

Obviously, the two families are caught off guard given that they didn't know that one of their own – from each family – had a secret they've been hiding. Keeping secrets isn't that uncommon no matter the species, but this made both groups confused by what their sons had to say.

“Junior, what is it that you want to tell us?” Gojirin asks, her body having a light shake as her anxiety rose.

“Leo, what have you been hiding?” Mothra questions, folding her arms and raising an eyebrow. She didn't like that her son had been keeping a secret from her, especially given how divine moths weren't meant to do so from each other.

For a moment, neither of the two young monsters say anything as they try to make sense of what they want to tell their families. Yet Junior's eyes quickly glow wide and he smiles as he looks over to Leo who picks up and looks back. After a few moments, the divine moth's wings lower down and tuck themselves behind his back which makes them appear more like a cape.

Then, before anyone could react, Junior quickly gets behind Leo and gives him a hug as he kisses the divine moth on the cheek. This make the divine moth giggle as the monster prince smile, giving the two confidence as they look over to their families and spoke.

“This is my princess.”

“Meet my boyfriend.”

A silence comes over the two families for several moments before a soft breath comes from Gojirin as she begins to calm down from the moment. As the monster queen does her calm breathing, Lea blinks before giving her twin brother a frown.

“Leo, you didn't tell me you're dating the prince,” Lea says, her voice laced with disappointment.

“Sorry, I just...didn't know how to tell you,” Leo replies, feeling awkward even as he's still hugged by his boyfriend.

“Still, kinda wish you at least told me,” his twin states.

After a few more moments, Mothra's mind catches up to the present and she smiles happily as she looks at her son. She walks up to the two monsters until she's five feet from them and says, “Leo, I do wish you had told us this sooner. But as it is...if you two truly love each other, I see no issue allowing it to happen.”

“Thanks, mom,” Leo states, giving his mother a smile.

“And I the same,” Gojirin speaks up, walking over to the two as she looks over to Junior, “Junior, I wish for you next time to at least tell me who you're dating rather than just using vague nicknames. However, I will allow you to...be with your princess.”

A smile grows on Junior's face as he releases Leo from his hug and goes back to his right side while gently holding his hand. The two interlock their fingers as their siblings come over to them with Biollante being the first to do so.

“So, a 'princess' huh?” She asks her brother.

“Yeah,” Junior replies with a shrug, “I mean...I am a prince.”

“I don't mind it,” Leo points out, “In fact, I actually like when he calls me that.”

“Oh, so I should call you 'Princess Leo' then?” Lea lightly teases.

“Only if you want to,” her twin replies with a soft chuckle.

“So, you were scared to tell us this, icka'brod?” SpaceGodzilla asks with a smirk.

“I can say the same about you and Destroyah, Space,” Junior snaps back, obviously not wanting to hear what his older brother had to say.

“Now boys,” Gojirin tells them, using her motherly tone at them.

Yet as all of this is going on, Godzilla and Battra remain where they are with the latter simply taking in the sight and feeling happy for his son. The former, on the other hand, watches it all with his eyes wide and his mouth agape in shock.

Godzilla was in disbelief that the vision that Mothra had and that he thought was nothing more than a dream...has just been proven true. His young son – his Junior – has been dating one of Mothra's children and just came out to them all as being a couple. The vision proved to be true...but in his arrogance, he thought it was meant for him and Mothra rather than anyone else.

True, the moment it came to her happened after he found Gojirin along with him and Mothra not liking each other at the time...but it still didn't change anything. He thought the vision was meant about them and now has been proven wrong. Their families are joined for the foreseeable future...perhaps, even longer than that.

As he stands there in shock, Battra glances over and notices it as he grins while a smug look appears on his face. Turning his body and putting his hands on his hips, he simply says, “So-”

Before he can continue, Godzilla snaps out of his shock and turns to the divine moth as he gets right in his face with a hate filled glare. Immediately, he growls while saying quietly, “Not a fucking word.”

All he gets in response is a toothy smile and a dark chuckle from Battra.
