Chapter Text
"When we were younger.. we made a wish on a shooting star, something we hoped would last forever. We wished to reach a goal together, but in the end.. it didn't work. We drifted apart, we don't even talk anymore.."
".. I suppose sometimes, you can't always have what you wish for."
"Lance.. Lance! Come on we're going to be late and miss the stars if you keep standing around!" A voice spoke, as Lance saw Clay standing next to him, his crutch being under his arm as Lance realised he was daydreaming. The day they had all planned together was finally here, to finally make their wish that will come true in the future.
"I'm sorry, I guess I got lost in thought again.." Lance laughed, as Clay playfully nodded and began walking to the playground that wasn't that far away. Lance followed him humming a song he heard on the way there. "Hwy Clay wait up!" He spoke, chasing after Clay suddenly.
Lance's friends all sat next to the jungle gym together, one of them sitting on the slide while the others sat on the sand. Lance sighed, mainly because he was exhausted from walking all the way to the park as Clay and the others were talking.. he hoped they still remembered what they all agreed on together, and went to go sit with them.
"I guess I'm a but nervous, I mean.. I can play the keyboard, but in front of a large crowd.. I feel like I would mess up." Clay confessed, as he heard Lance sit next to him on the sand. "What about you Macy.. Aaron?" Clay asked, as the two of them thought about it for a moment.
"Probably the drums, I mean my dad owns a drum kit and he said when I'm older I can have it." Macy responded, as Clay nodded while listening to what she was saying. "I suppose I could consider something else, but the drums simply feel right!" He added, as Aaron elbowed her playfully from the slide.
"Easy, the bass!" Aaron laughed, as he looked at Lance. "That gives you vocals Lance.. you can sing can't you?" He asked, as Lance nodded weakly.
"I can.. but I also know my dad will probably give me his guitar if I ask.. or not." Lance responded, as Clay smiled at all of them, using his crutch to pull himself up out of the sand. As Lance spotted the shooting star go past.
"Ah! They're happening!" Clay spoke, as Lance and the others climbed up the frame as Lance helped pull Clay up. "Thanks, I was worried for a second.."
"Right here under the stars, we're officially promising when we're older.. we're going to be the best most well known band ever!" Lance spoke, as the other three cheered with him. "I hope we can make it last." He smiled, as the others started laughing with him.
"Clay.. What's wrong?" He asked, as Clay stayed silent.
"Huh.." He finally spoke, watching Lance's face with a soft expression. "I agree.. I hope our wish comes true.."
[Present day - Kamiyama Highschool]
Lance sat in math class, focusing more on the courtyard from the window rather than what was being said. There wasn't much happening outside, just the changing of the trees from brown to pink.. something that Clay loved when they were younger.. but Clay wasn't there now, he never came to school with them.. and without Clay, their entire friend group fell apart.
Despite being in the same class, Lance and Aaron never spoke, they didn't even say hello in the hallway. Hell they didn't even have each others phone numbers anymore since Aaron changed his once they stopped being friends. It was the same with Macy.. they didn't really talk anymore either. As if everything was just completely different between them, the wish they made together that day.. was nothing more then a dead dream.
The bell rang, as Lance took a deep breath before grabbing his bag and putting in on his shoulder. He didn't know what to expect, saying hello to them felt useless as if he was simply an unnecessary decoration that hung around them, trying to feel relevant. "Hey Lance!" One of his classmates spoke, as they pat his shoulder. "Can you give me the English homework answers.. uh, I completely forgot it's due next class." They added, as Lance sighed.
"Yeah, here you go." He nodded, as he handed them his homework. "Uh, just hand it back in class." He added, as his clasmate nodded in response. Lance sighed, as of recently he felt like if he didn't agree to something.. he was a pushover. No wonder he didn't have any real friends, as he noticed Macy walking down the hall.. and brought himself the courage to actually talk to her.
"Macy.. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out after school." He spoke, as Macy turned around to face him. "Just., like old times maybe?"
Macy thought about it for a moment, before eventually responding. "Absolutely not, we're not kids anymore Lance.. you can't keep forcing me to do what you want anymore." She spoke, cold as she walked away from Lance with her other friends.
"Oh.. okay." He muttered, standing in the hallway, not really sure of what to do now.. if Clay was here.. maybe they would still be friends, maybe Lance wouldn't be as alone.. but he knew that was never going to be the case, was it?
[Richmond household]
Lance sat in his bedroom, wondering about what he could do.. if he could actually talk to them, and try to talk to his friends.. try and be friends with them again. He was just listening to music, the songs Clay introduced him to when they were in middle school, before he was hospitalised again, when he noticed something on his playlist he didn't remember putting there.
"Un..titled? Did somebody not name their song?" He asked himself, putting both earphones in and tapping on the song, yet wasn't expecting what was coming next.
[???]
When Lance opened his eyes, it was like he was in a completely different building.. there were what looked like stars reflecting onto the hallway floors, and the night sky looked stunning from where he was standing. Yet, he didn't know where he was.. and the confusion wasn't something he was actually sure of.. not really. "Lance~ We're glad you finally made it!" A voice spoke behind him, as he turned around to see a blue haired girl.. who looked oddly familiar, standing with a blue haired male.
"Huh.. but you look like.. Miku.. hatsune.. miku." Lance couldn't speak, as Miku nodded to his fumbled words. "But you .. how, Miku is a.. she's virtual." He was confused, unsure how to talk.. as Miku smiled at him.
"Well your right, but I'm right here in this SEKAI.. with KAITO.." she smiled, as Lance stood silently without another word. "We're here to help you understand your true feelings, in this place you created with them" she added, making Lance unsure of who she was talking about.
"Who.. did I make this place with?" He asked, as KAITO smiled at him.
"All will become clear, but he's going to help you bring your friends back together.. I'm sure it will work." The ominous wording got Lance confused, but he kept listening. "He didn't want to you fall apart Lance.. just trust him."
"Trust who?" He asked, as miku smiled at him once again.
"Let's meet again soon Lance!" She smiled, as Lance looked confused.. nothing way making sense.. he didn't know what to do. Nothing was making sense, as he suddenly opened his eyes in his bedroom, rubbing his eyes as if he temporarily fell asleep.
"That.. was a weird dream.." he muttered, playing a song in his phone. Trying to ignore whatever he was dreaming about just a couple minutes ago, as if it didn't really matter anymore. Yet the thought of who they were talking about lingered in the back of his mind.
"Okay~ I've got my uniform ready, and all of my pens.. and of course anything else I'm missed." A cheerful voice spoke before sighing. "I just wish these highlights in my hair were permanent.. but I can't wait to see them all again!"
"Hehe~ hopefully they'll be extra super surprised to see me again, let's hope they haven't changed.. not even a little bit." They spoke, grabbing their cane from the wall. "Lance.. Macy, Aaron.. I havent forgotten what we planned together!"
