That's how David ended up escaping his abusive homelife and generally shitty enviornment he was raised in. He’d expected more guilt, more anger, more shame, but oddly enough he's the happiest he's ever been in a while. For one, all of his true friends are here, not the fake and snobby rich folks his parents forced him to socialize with just to ‘keep up appearances.’
Moving in with Keith had given him a fair amount of anxiety, fearing that he simply wouldn't get along as roommates, but they surprisingly work well together in maintaining the small apartment. Plus, all of that soul crushing university work has been lifted off of his shoulders. Though, his new job does give him new headaches that don't involve business math..

Sure, the job can be stressful at times, and he did have a few run-ins with some of his old classmates as the café he's working at was connected to the Robloxia University, one of the most prestigious universities in the country (his parents didn't want him to go here because apparently it was full of people who will distract him from his studies or something) and of cours there's the shitty customers and Rōblox is incompetent.
Most of the people working are only there because the pay was pretty good, it was above minimum wage at least. (Clockwork and Stoecker are only there because they could use the money and want to get into the university, so they got the job.) His coworkers are friendly too, hell, he could probably consider them some of his friends. Namely Shedletsky, sure, he was annoying at first, but once you get through that, he's a pretty genuine friend. Playing DnD with him, Erik and his roommate Matt is fun.
David couldn't really believe how much his life had changed in the last three months, and all it happened because he finally found the courage to stand up for himself. Overall, his life was doing alright now. And he hoped it'd stay that way.
