Work Text:
“Nathaniel?" A voice called startling him as the book in his hands was knocked away. Before he could even start to chastise the offending party, a small elven woman had climbed into his lap.
“Commander? What are—?” His question was cut off by a searing kiss. He reacted on impulse, his hands gripping her ass, pulling her to sit more firmly against his lap.
Though Commander Tabris’ lips never left his own, he could feel the stretch of her satisfied grin. There was delight in the passion of her kiss, her hands gripping his shoulders, nails practically piercing his flesh. When she finally broke away, he heard the hush of her voice in his ear, sultry and low.
“Nathaniel? Wake up!”
Startling awake, Nathaniel was shocked to see Zukal leaning over him, hands gripping his shoulders and shaking him alert from where he’d fallen asleep in the common room. The desire to pull her down into his lap as the dream version of her had been enjoying was painfully hard to ignore. He pushed her away, lest he do something terribly embarrassing for them both.
“Maybe if you didn’t snore so loudly, you wouldn’t have to be woken up, old man!” she said, annoyed but still playful.
“I’ll sleep where I like,” he muttered, watching her walk away back toward the chess game she’d been playing with Sigrun. “And I don’t snore!”
The women laughed and returned to their game, leaving him to stew in his waking confusion.
The dream had felt far too real, a terrible thing to realize as he adjusted himself carefully, trying to relieve the restrictive press of his trousers. He placed his book across his lap for good measure as he tried to will away the alluring dream version of Commander Tabris while pinching his brow.
“Go to bed, Nathaniel!” she called out across the room.
“Give me a minute!” he shouted back.
“I had a dream like that once,” Oghren said in a low voice, startling him again. The dwarf sat just a few chairs away but leaned in eagerly. Had he witnessed that whole exchange?
“You did?” A panic flooded him, that least seemed to resolve his prior issue at least.
“Absolutely,” he nodded sagely, dropping his voice low, where the women nearby couldn't hear. “Now I can't help but get half hard every time I fight darkspawn.”
Nathaniel wasn't sure if he was horrified or relieved that Oghren, in fact, did not share the same dream with him. Disgusted, he got to his feet and started to leave.
“Have a good night!” he heard Sigrun call out.
“Sweet dreams!” Commander Tabris added, as she turned over her shoulder to bid him goodbye. Their eyes caught, and he could suddenly feel it again, the press of her body against him, and the taste of her kiss on his tongue. She looked completely unaware of the heat that was racing beneath his skin again.
He left without a word, or else the flush on his face would give him away as he hurried to his room to dream in privacy.
