So dark…
So…tired…
Consciousness…Slowly forming?
Feeling…
What is this?
Who am I?
Tired eyes fluttered open, it was still dark—But there were tiny dots…Lights? What is this place?
She felt…An urge.
An urge to open her mouth and speak—Can she speak? Is it even possible?
Her hands rubbed her eyes as she yawned, feeling like stretching her limbs.
Who was she?
She was so disoriented, she had no idea where she was at or who she was.
“Hello?”
A hushed gentle sounding voice was behind her. She turned around and saw a giant young man, one with incredibly long majestic blonde hair. He’s beautiful! What is he? Who is he?
His golden brown eyes were so soft and gentle, so warm and amicable. “Hello there!” He said, still so hushed and yet so sweet and soothing. “Oh! You’re so cute!!!” He squealed, his hands picked her up and lifted her closer to his face so he could see her well. “You’re my first moon!”
“…Moon?” She repeated, she wasn’t comprehending. What the heck is a moon?
He smiled, “Yes! You’re my moon, and I’m your planet, little one! My name is Saturn!”
“Saturn?” She repeated, he nodded. “Okay, Saturn…Pretty name!”
“Thank you! I like you already!”
She smiled, he likes her! It made her feel happy! She didn’t know why, but it made her feel happy! Her planet likes her, likes his moon—What is a moon?
“Well, if I’m your moon, what does that mean?” She suddenly asked. He too seemed perplexed by her question, “Oh! Uhhh…I think it means I have to protect you, little one! You and all the other seven!”
Seven?
She realized there were seven other beings scattered around Saturn, all sleeping too.
She was curious, why weren’t they awake like her? Did they need help? She could help!
She approached one of them, one who had what looked like colorful hair compared to the others, this one stood out to her—But Saturn stopped her. He grabbed her and pulled her away from the child, “Careful!” He exclaimed. “It’s not safe to approach them right now, leave them be. They can’t control their own gravity yet.”
“But I was just gonna wake them up…” The girl pouted, she crossed her arms and sat down, huffing.
“Just leave them, they’ll wake up whenever they’re ready!” Saturn offered a smile and gently petted her on her head. “But for now, it’s just you and me…Chrysalis.”
Huh?
What’s a…Chrysalis?
“Chrys…Chrysalis?” She repeated.
“Yes! Chrysalis! A beautiful name for a stunning girl like you!” Saturn playfully twirled, Chrysalis was mesmerized by the action and copied. She giggled, it was fun! It was making her feel so happy, made her smile and laugh. “This is fun! What is this?” She asked curiously.
“Twirling! I love to twirl!” Saturn said as they both twirled together. “It makes me happy!”
Chrysalis giggled again, “I think I love to twirl too!”
When they were done, Saturn gently picked her up again and held her close. “I think it’s clear we’re going to get along very well, my tiny moon friend!”
Chrysalis was intrigued by this new action, Saturn was holding her really close. It also felt nice! Possibly as nice as when they were both twirling, “What’s this called, Saturn? I like it!”
“This is a hug, my Chrysalis. It’s one of my favorite ways to show love and affection!” He explained, “I try to hug Uranus sometimes but…He’s not very fond of hugging and the only thing he ever allows me to touch is his hair, I love brushing his hair, it’s so pretty!” Saturn squealed, it would appear he really loves his friend.
“Who is Uranus?” She inquired.
Saturn smiled, “He’s my friend! He’s aaaall the way over there,” he pointed towards the darkness, “I know it’s difficult to see, but he is out there! Oh, you should meet him sometime, he’s so wonderful! I think he has about 5 moons forming, but they haven’t woken up yet. But, I’m sure they’ll be wonderful just like him!”
“Moons? Are there any others like me? Who are awake?” Chrysalis asked.
“Oh, yes! There’s Callisto, that’s Jupiter’s!”
“Callisto? Jupiter? Who is Jupiter?”
Saturn grinned and twisted at his hair, “Only the most amazingly marvelous planet ever! You’re going to love him, Chrysalis!”
Chrysalis giggled, though she didn’t quite understand. “I’m sure I will,” she looked at the others who were orbiting Saturn. “So…When will they wake up?”
“I actually don’t know.”
“Oh…” Chrysalis was a little dejected, she really wanted the others to wake up, it would be nice to have a bunch of friends. Saturn makes having friends seem so wonderful! “Well,” she tried to smile again, “That’s okay! I have you!” She hugged Saturn, “You’re my planet and my first friend! It’s just you and me! Saturn and Chrysalis!”
Chrysalis
So that’s who she is, a moon of Saturn. Her name is Chrysalis, and she is Saturn’s moon.
Saturn will protect her, love her, and keep her safe forever.
They will always stay together forever.
