Chapter Text
With a groan of exertion, she got off the strangely glowing white floor and looked around at what appeared to be pearly white painted walls and a few chairs. Reminding her awfully of a dentist sitting room. Turning again to see a desk with nothing on it but a small silver service bell on it. Slowly, she approached the desk and cautiously rang the bell, mentally preparing for a sign that this was a prank. 'Paint bomb by the twins?' She thought to herself.
A being that resembled a wizard of centuries ago appeared behind the desk and started to speak in a calm manner to her, "Miss Granger....or rather Mrs Potter. It is nice to see you again, however you are once again several decades early."
Hermione Potter nee Granger stood shocked as she registered what he had said "Mrs Potter!? What? And what do you mean again?"
The wizard sighed and held out a clipboard with several documents on it, "please take the clipboard and go into room 3, the reaper will see you now." He waved his hand and a oak wood door appeared, showing a golden number 3 on the door.
Cautiously she takes the clipboard and heads towards the door, upoj going through the door her mind is overloaded with different memories that never happened, overwhelmed by the sudden influx of information she falls into the chair and puts her head in her hands, trying to calm the throbbing pains.

"Right. Let me get this straight," she took a deep breath in, as she usually did before explaining her thoughts to Harry or Ron, "I have died multiple times. And been sent back multiple times because I failed to complete this fabled destiny that sounds like an even more barmy version of Divination. And in those attempts I was to: get with Harry, help him defeat Tom Riddle, run for and become Minister of Magic, have 2 children and live happily ever after until I'm-" reads over her paperwork, "183 years old....ans whats this about me being Mrs Potter? I never.." sighs and takes a deep breath to console herself.."I never married Harry"
"Yes you did" the shadowy figure spoke as if it was the most obvious thing in the world
"No I bloody well didnt!" She snapped instantly, not one to use profanity but in her anger it slipped out. "I never got to walk down the aisle with him waiting...we never did anything to marry."
Having let the wild-haired brunette speak, the shadow talks back calmly "Hermione, you did marry...magically speaking."
She looks up at the shadow, tears threatening to fall as the voice emanating from the shadow sounds like Harry. "What do you mean...we never said any vows, we-we never had a ceremony"
"During Bill and Fleur's wedding, when the officiant was reading the act, you made eye contact with Harry, and magic married you on the spot feeling the bond between the two of you." He responded, looking at her curiously, "that's why you and he were unable to be with anyone else after the war. Magic prevented you two from infidelity."
Hermione, mentally ran the information through her head, and she realised everything he said was true. "So when Harry died on the auror mission...I became Lady Potter"
"Now you're getting it. I knew there was a reason you are heralded as the Brightest Witch of her age. Once a head of house or last of line marries, the will is automatically created. It can be adjusted manually, but automatically it sets that the widow or widower of the head of house is to recieve 100%. While yes Harry set out vaults for Teddy Lupin, those were under Teddy's name with Andromeda's control."
Hermione hummed at that, absorbing the information like usual before reaching her next question. "So what is it that I'm doing here? I'm dead. Killed by a Death Eater fanatic who wanted the glory of killing a member of the golden trio." She sighs and looks down at her hands "Harry died years ago on a mission and honestly I'm ready to join wherever he is."
The shadow looks at her, sounding apologetic "I'm sorry Hermione, you cant be sent to Harry-"
"What!? Why!?" She suddenly snapped, her chaotic curls getting wilder with her anger.
The shadow figure holds a hand up to get her to calm down, and in the frustratingly calm tone responds. "Because you can fix all of it. But we do need to bend the rules."
