Chapter Text
Hello everybody! I’m back — and welcome to the final part of the Still Not series!
I think this is a good time to tell you that this story follows the original plot idea I came up with about a year ago: a continuation of the fourth and final Telltale game.
When I finished The Final Season, I was left wondering -- what would Clementine’s future look like now that she’s more physically vulnerable? What would it mean for her story?
Without touching on other works that have come since, I felt there was still more to explore — more stories to tell, more ways to see Clem grow. And from that feeling, Still Not Broken was born.
-- A QUICK NOTE BEFORE YOU START --
Parts 1 and 2 planted many of the seeds that will come to fruition here, so I highly recommend reading them first if you haven’t already.
That said, I get it -- reading over 160,000 words just to catch up is a tall order. So, I’ve put together a short list of key changes to help both new and returning readers get up to speed, without major spoilers.
Important Changes / Additions to This Timeline:
I. NO AMPUTATIONS
Louis still has his tongue, Violet both eyes and all fingers, and Clem still has her leg. How and why this is the case is explained in Part 2.
II. CLEM AND THE NEW FRONTIER
Clementine spent an extended period with the New Frontier, developing a mentor-student bond with Ava and even getting to know David better. She received additional CQC, fitness, and weapons training. You can learn more about this in Part 1.
III. TENN'S FATE
Tenn died at the end of Part 2. I know this drifts into spoiler territory, but it matches the events of The Final Season, so I don’t feel too bad mentioning it here.
IV. CLEM'S RELATIONSHIP STATUS
Clementine is in a romantic relationship with Violet in this timeline. It’s not just for flavor — it has story significance and emotional weight. If that’s not your thing, fair warning: this might not be the story for you.
There’s one more major change I’ll reveal in the notes section of a later chapter, giving new readers a chance to explore the earlier parts first.
Okay, that covers the bases of what came before. Now I want to move on what is to come with Still Not Broken.
How Still Not Broken is Structured:
- Like Part 2, this story is divided into five episodes, each with multiple chapters. You can think of it as an unofficial Season 5 if you want to.
- The number of chapters per episode may vary - I didn’t want to restrict the pacing with arbitrary limits.
- At the end of each episode, you’ll find a recommended “Outro Song.” Since every Telltale episode closed with a memorable track, I wanted to capture that same feeling. Each song has meaning tied to its respective episode - they’re not just songs I thought sounded cool.
Also, for context - Part 3 takes place two years after Part 2, meaning it’s now been ten years since the outbreak.
Here's a list of all five episodes:
EPISODE 1 — The Rising Sun
EPISODE 2 — Trust In Me
EPISODE 3 — Time Only Takes
EPISODE 4 — Love and War
EPISODE 5 — Keep Moving Forward
That’s all I wanted to share before we dive into the story proper. I know it was a lot of information, but I wanted to bring everyone - new and old - up to speed.
As a final note, I dedicate this story to the incredible developers who brought us this series, the talented voice actors who gave it life, and the fans who continue to keep Clementine’s world alive to this day.
With that said… welcome back. And please, enjoy the journey.
