{THIS FIC IS ON A INDEFINITE HIATUS}
After being defeated(again) by Sonic and his allies, Metal finds himself in a different place far away from everything he's ever known.

Chapter 1: Beginning.

Chapter Text

Metal Sonic simply can not believe it.

It's totally ridiculous! Laughable even.

He had the upper hand.

He had the freedom.

He had the power.

He.

Had.

Everything.

That's why he can't understand– he can't process the fact that even with all the power he had, he still LOST to that filthy pest and his stupids friends.

He's mad– no, he's enraged.

The anger he is feeling at this very moment cannot be measured by simple numbers or some calculations.

It feels like something wanting to claw its way out of him and destroy everything.

The anger he is feeling right now burns from the inside out, it burns every single atom in his body and being unable to express it with screams or even tears, Metal Sonic stands up, he notices the poor state he's in, but he doesn't care.

He hates it.

He already noticed that he can't see his left side, he noticed that his right leg is a ‘little’ twisted, he noticed that his left hand is about to fall off, he has already noticed the numerous dents that he has across his body but he doesn't care, he could care less about this stupid metal cage that he's trapped in, this stupid thing that makes him unable to fully express the storm of emotions he feels– what's even the point of creating something capable of feeling such complex emotions like a human and then taking away that thing's means of expressing said emotions?

He hates it.

Such a cruel thing to do.

He hates it.

He hates it.

He hates it.

He hates it.

He hates it!

He walks towards the tree closest to him.

He hates it so much!

Why would anyone do something like that?

And why, no matter what he does, no matter what he achieves, no matter how much power he gets, he still loses?

He loses.

He always comes so close to getting what he wants but in the end he loses.

Always.

Every single time.

The tree falls, he goes to another one.

Was he made to lose? Was he made to just lose to him? Why, no matter how close he gets to Sonic, he can never reach him?

If he hadn't been distracted at that time, he could have finally won.

But no, of course he wouldn't be able to.

Even though he was so close.

He always gets so close to kill him.

Will he ever be able to reach Sonic again?

Will he ever be as free as he was when being Neo Metal Sonic?

Will he be able to feel like that again?

Will he be able to see him again?

He hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hates hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehahtehate–

There goes another tree.

He stops, he looks at his left hand– or where it was supposed to be.

It fell off.

He looks at the destruction he made without realizing it.

He doesn't care.

He was made for it after all.

He was made for it.

He was made to destroy.

He was made to destroy Sonic the hedgehog.

He's nothing more and nothing less.

Just Metal Sonic, the perfect weapon whose main and only objective is to kill the fastest being in the world.

Sonic the hedgehog.

And yet, even with everything he has, despite everything he has already achieved, he managed to fail miserably.

He wants to scream, scream as loud as he can, he wants to tear himself apart piece by piece, he wants to–

He trips over his own foot and falls face first on the dirt.

Pathetic.

That's how he's feeling, he can't even send the coordinates of where he is to Dr. Eggman so he can get his remains.

Pathetic.

That 's what he is.

Such a pitiful and useless creature he is.

He's a disgrace, a true shame, it's good that he can't send the coordinates of where he is to Dr. Eggman because he knows what awaits him.

He knows what will happen to him.

Or at least, he has a good idea of what might happen if the Doctor finds him.

He doesn't like it.

He isn't supposed to feel like this.

He isn't.

So why.

Why can't he stand up?

Why isn't he looking for the Doctor?

He is supposed to go back to him, isn't he?

Even after the little stunt he pulled as Neo Metal Sonic–

He should go back to him.

Why can't he find the strength to stand up?

Isaac thought that after he found a giant alien robot head that literally fell from the sky exactly 42 years ago –yes he is counting– nothing would surprise him again, but apparently he was wrong when he found an unknown blue robot in the middle of the forest.

Just when he was trying to take a break.

He obviously couldn't let it there, he took the mysterious robot with him, more out of curiosity to know the genius behind such a peculiar creation than anything, he spent some days fixing it the best he could, now all he had to do is wait.

While he waits for the mysterious robot to wake up, he goes back to work.

After all, a genius like him can't stop, he needs to keep doing something useful.

Metal was sure that he would wake up in the same place he had turned off but it seems that is not the case, the place he's in doesn't look like the Doctor's laboratory and the giant robotic head in the middle of the room is enough to confirm that.

He slowly gets up and looks at himself, whoever found him did a decent job of fixing him up.

Getting off the bed, he starts looking around the place he’s in starting with the big elephant in the room carefully walking towards it, Metal observes carefully every detail of this thing.

A normal human wouldn't be able to build something like this, right?

Something so... intriguing.

Yes, Doctor Eggman is a human and he created him, Metal Sonic, but this thing.

This is something entirely if not completely different from him and anything the Doctor has ever created.

He comes closer and stands right in front of that head, admiring and making sure to memorize every single detail he can find.

This is something absolutely… stunning and breathtaking, he has never seen anything like this–

“Impressive, isn't it?”

Metal hears a voice behind him, he immediately reacts by turning around and getting in position to attack.

Seeing his mistake, the man quickly puts his hands up in surrender and takes a few steps back.

“OH! uh– I'm sorry for showing up like this, I'm not here to hurt you, I promise.”

Metal sees a middle-aged man with black hair and a mustache, who wears a lab coat over a light green shirt, a black necktie, black trousers and black shoes.

‘A normal human, he doesn't look like a threat but I better be careful anyway.’ Metal thinks– well, it's not too hard to think that because the man himself definitely doesn't look and sound like the most imposing or fearsome human in the world.

Seeing that Metal apparently isn't going to attack him, Isaac sighs in relief and lowers his arms.

“Well, first things first, my name is Isaac Sumdac.” He extends his hand to Metal. “What’s your name?”

Metal ignores the Doctor's hand and points to where his mouth would be if he had one.

Isaac quickly understands what he means by this. “Ah! Yes, I noticed thad you didn't have a voice box while I was repairing you.” He says and Metal nods. “Well, if you want, I can create one for you.”

Metal seems to consider the offer and signals. “It would like it, thank you.” Now he just hopes that the Doctor knows sign language.

And it seems like he knew, he nods. “Alright then but before I need to ask you something.” Isaac fidge with his hands. “Do you have to go back somewhere? Not saying that you can't stay here of course.”

Metal thinks for a few minutes and then signals. “No.” Isaac hum.

“No problem, there are some spare rooms in this building and you can choose one of them for yourself.” He says.

Metal stares at Isaac for some minutes thinking. ‘Is he really trusting me that much to give me a room?’

“Well, I can show where each spare room is located so you can decide on which one you will stay.” Isaac says as he goes towards the door of the room.

'Seriously, what's this guy's deal.’ Metal gives a thumbs up and walks towards Isaac.

As Isaac guides him through the building's corridors, Metal wonders one thing.

‘Is he dumb?’

This becomes incredibly incorrect when he hears about the revolutionary inventions and incredible achievements that the human has made –This leaves Metal surprised because he didn't expect another human being would be able to achieve so many feats– and as he looks at the man's face he comes to a more plausible response to his question.

‘He's definitely not dumb, he's just too kind for his own good.’

He continues to follow the genius of the century and listens attentively to everything he says.

‘Way too kind.’ Metal thinks as they stop in front of the door of the last spare room he has to see.

‘People like him tend to die in the blink of an eye, one minute they're here and the next…'

“So, do you already have a room in mind? One that suits you best?”

Isaac looks at Metal with that patient, calm smile, the kind of smile Metal has never had the luxury of receiving before, it makes him feel weird.

He doesn't like it.

‘...they're gone.’
