Chapter 7: Rody and Vincent's Food outing
Summary:
Inspired by stuff I ate when I was visiting my cousin (and am craving). Hamburger, strawberry + milk crepe, takoyaki, hojicha icecream, and croquette sandos + fries (???).
Vince and Rody probably wouldn't eat most of these but I thought it'd be cool to draw Rody having fun food hopping while Vince enjoys watching Rody eat haha (hides it by nagging about Rody's lack of table etiquette/taste). I guess Vince could also be tagging along for research (seeing what's popular/competition, potential flavour combos, plating ideas, etc).

Summary:
A doodle I did after lunch with a friend (kimchi cold noodles is so good ahsfjksnksga). I remembered other pens exist so I was playing around with different ones like g-pen. Personally Vince is super easy to draw while Rody I'm constantly struggling TT it's definitely the hair that throws me off.

A random doodle that spawned from nowhere today during cafe drawing. I've seen a lot of people (including Rachel lol) mention Bok-su looks like Vince and now I can't unsee it @_@
This was my thought of Rody meeting Bok-su for the first time, not knowing Vince had a sibling. Idk if she'd like Rody or not but I think Rody would try his best to talk with her ahaha. I imagine Bok-su being a doctor/surgeon and went to visit Vince in Paris. They get along even if it doesn't seem like it!!

Chapter 12: A Rody that somehow managed to afford Fender
Summary:
My main objective was to draw Rody in guitar lord ChakiP's outfit playing a telecaster. The rest is 99% random brain poop idk what happened.
Set in a modern time, I spoiled Rody with an expensive guitar so he can pursue a career in freelance gig work. He tends to write as inspiration strikes so oftentimes he'll make notes in odd places. If Rody's in a groove he'll sit for hours on end writing and testing stuff until he's satisfied. Vince meets him at a bar and invites Rody to work at the bistro for steady money. I'd like to think Rody sings pretty well while drunk cause it eases his nerves lol
The song drunk Rody's singing is "Pass On" (사라지네) from Limbus Company haha. It's been stuck in my head (Gregor and Ishmael versions are the best!)

Summary:
Quick doodle over my lunch with friend. Cold noodles (김치말이냉국수) during summer is the best.
Idk if all kbbq do this (I've been to ones where you can order the cold noodles alone) but this particular restaurant forces you to order minimum 1 portion of meat (beef or pork) per person. Sad but the noodles are worth it.

Summary:
Been reading lokal_agenda's Priest Vince x Demon Rody AU fic and IT'S SO GOOD. I ended up drawing some fanart for the fic (after getting permission from author). Here's the link to the fic: "For the Love of God" (currently 4 chapters as of posting this fanart doodle).

Initially I wanted to make a single doodle with scenes from all the chapters but then I kept rereading everything and decided I'd do a chapter per doodle. This one features moments I really enjoyed from chapter 1.
The first part I drew was Vince and Rody in the top right corner with the glowing shoes. Am sort of confused about the timeline for this particular fic since Lightning McQueen exists 💀💀💀 but I'm assuming it's within modern times (the first Cars movie came out in 2006)......?? But the other parts seem post 1950s ish (like Rody confused about the timer, church in general...etc). My bad if I'm wrong...
Next part was the top left with Vincent trying to figure out why sending Rody back to hell didn't work out. I swear I was dying when I read this scene, poor Rody's getting roasted by Vince and he's not even trying LOLLL. Was also inspired by Rachel's doodle in the artbook (the one where Rody has a stupid grin and Vince is trying to figure out what he summoned).
The rest was drawn randomly. I had a hard time with the devil horns...they look like burnt croissants stuck onto his head TT Love how well written Rody and Vince are too, Rody's so wholesome I wanna keep him in my pocket and Vince being flawed (as a priest - smoking, drinking, insomnia) makes him feel real. AND HIS SNARKY RESPONSES MAKE IT SO HARD NOT TO BURST OUT LAUGHING ON THE TRAIN ("I'm not God, therefore my love is VERY conditional," closing the door on Rody, god I love him)

First off, I aspire to reach Vince's level of conversation ability even when he's sleep deprived ahgshfcs HOW DOES THIS MAN HAVE THE POWER TO DO A SERMON, SET UP BAPTISM THING, AND TALK TO KIDS ON 0% SLEEP WHAT!!??? I really like how the garden scene is set up with him telling different people to leave, can imagine it being part of a game mechanic or something. The little joke about the child being born on a Sunday was cute.
I ended up drawing Rody peeking through the window first. The scene after was the one I burst out laughing ("DO I HAVE TO TAKE YOU OUT FOR WALKS????" Rody being treated like a dog gives me life aha. It's so hard not to giggle like a maniac when I'm reading this on the train to campus 💀💀
The next part was the crucifix room where Rody gets burnt (inspired by Rachel's doodle in artbook). Rody didn't cry but I can see him crying as they're walking to a safe room (self indulgent). All of the other stuff was filled afterwards. Starting to slowly regret doing lines to fill the black areas since Vince's hair and cassock take a lot of space....plus Rody's pants are a pain....(ignore the janky hand anatomy, lack of wings, and burnt croissant horns lol)
FINAL NOTE: STORY INDEED TAKES PLACE IN 1960's AND NOT POST 2006 BECAUSE OF LIGHTNING MCQUEEN I'M STUPID (seriously idk why I was so fixated on this as a plot point when it really wasn't TT)

Rody is an in fighter with hard hitting punches, likes to body blow (liver), tends to take a lot of hits and exchange too often. Has a good body but struggles with weight management due to his love for food (specifically junk). Outside of boxing people think Rody wouldn’t hurt a mouse, he’s very open and easy to talk to. Tries not to instigate fights but can be violent in the right conditions. Emotional fighter, has a strong sense of justice and hates people who hurt non-boxers or break rules.
Vince is an out fighter that likes to counter, usually punches to the face (easiest to draw blood). Perfect timing, elegant footwork, skinnier than others but has a good reach. Holds back from KO to drag out rounds and play with his
foodopponents (yikes). Has fouled due to excessive damage, dislikes when opposing second throws the towel. His second is worried for his well being but thinks boxing is a good control for Vince’s cannibalistic thoughts.I want Ippo and Rody to be friends (wholesome deadly duo) while Vince and Sawamura can be friends maybe (yikes duo). If you've read or watched Ippo you can see how much I've blatantly mish-mashed character styles + personalities ahaha

Summary:
Some doodles I did on campus + lab. For the first time I tried the fat macaron, it was really good!!! (but expensive 💸💸).
Vince's hair is starting to become hard to draw. I simplify the hair split a lot so I tried working on making it look more texture...idk. Funny to me since I was struggling with Rody's hair at first, now it's the opposite TT

PERSONALLY SPEAKING comparing the two I see Vincent as passive.
He doesn't strike to me as a type who'd care about special anniversaries, ask to go out on dates (unless he has another motive). But I do think he'd show his affection in different ways, like keeping snacks for Rody in his home, making sure Rody sleeps properly and eats, etc. A person that complains when Rody doesn't give him attention, and also complains when he gets attention 😂😂😂 (MAKE UP YOUR MIND VINCE!!).
Rody is definitely the guy that marks a calendar with every little thing bahaha (first kiss, first date, first hold hands) writes in a diary with stickers and notes "Vince likes this!!" Will beat up a guy that makes fun of Vince, asks to go on dates and acts gentlemanly✨✨ wants to give lots of kisses and hugs, but I'm not sure how this would be affected in terms of time period (1960s "I WANT TO SHOW OFF MY BOYFRIEND" but is also nervous of public opinion?)
In terms of being physically affectionate, I don't think Vince would give hugs and kisses and all (as much) compared to Rody. Like he'd sneak a peck here or there I can see when no one's watching, maybe show his dominance to other people when randoms flirt with Rody LOLLL, or bring Rody to his office after everyone's clocked out 👀👀. At their home, I like an assertive Vince that teaches Rody many things that Rody isn't knowledgeable about haha. Rody who isn't used to being the one spoiled, and Vincent who's ready to overload him with his overbearing love hasddsfgh I love that

3 page comic (right to left reading) I worked on in between classes. Just imagined what it'd be like in the Vincent Survives AU after the bistro burned down and how (part of) Vincerody's first encounter conversation would look like.

From the artbook notes I like the idea of Rody feeling relieved about Vince surviving. In a "Oh so I didn't murder him after all, I'm not like him [like Vince, who did murder Manon]" kind of way, whether it's a moral high ground thing or guilt of what he chose to do. But then Rody (in this art) is also conflicted about that relief when he believes Vince should've died and equating not being able to finish the job to not getting revenge for Manon. Then again making sure Vince suffers/atones (in living) probably is good too...idk if I'm making sense lol ignore.
I portrayed Vince more playful here; he's lost everything he was proud of and is even worse off than when he started (lost taste, smell, eyesight in right eye, no sensitivity on right side of his body). So Vince is less uptight, more forward (?) but still not ready to admit he was wrong and apologize. I like the irony of Vince (sort of) becoming more like Rody and Rody becoming more like Vince haha (eye bags and thin, cynical, lost enjoyment of food maybe? I think he was scarred from meat in the artbook).
My main effort was put into the second page where the two look at each other (exposing myself, you can tell with the line weight and detail compared to the 1st and 3rd pages LOLLL especially the last page, the lines are super thick). Very satisfied with Rody's expressions (crying Rody is 👌👌). I decided to add the rough as well to give an idea of how I planned visually, it changed a lot bahaha
This chapter was more of a toes in the water project to mentally prepare for another thing (fanart!). Planning to keep it around 3-4 pages for a specific scene in the fic. Fingers crossed I finish it one day aghghdffa but assignments and exams coming up makes it hard...I'm such a slow drawer 🥲🥲

Very random doodle. I saw the switch trailer for Professor Layton Steam Engine world and imagined "what if Professor Layton and Luke visited France after a strange letter?"

I imagine Layton and Luke had to go to La Guele de Saturne because the strange letter person set up a reservation, they hear rumours from the area, death of Manon, and Vince pulls out a giant meat cutter chainsaw robot thing he has stored underneath his restaurant Descole-style after getting caught because of course he does lol.
It would be fun if they had to help out at the restaurant for some reason as puzzles. Like one can be Rody needing help when customer's order doesn't match prices (math puzzle), moving boxes or stock in the freezer (the type of puzzle where you use the stylus to move the boxes to fit in an area), maybe one about wine glass arrangements (multiple choice puzzle), etc.

One of the strawpage questions asked about VinceRody vs RodyVince. My immediate thought was "do they want me to draw two couples fighting??? lol" but then the second question confirmed it was about differences in dynamics. I feel like I wasn't able to explain myself properly due to twitter's limited text range so I'll write my headcanons here (specifically regarding R18 topics).
The only difference I see between VinceRody and RodyVince is with R18 stuff (top/bottom). I try not to look at it as top/bottom because honestly other than that everything remains mostly the same bahaha. I see Vincent as possessive, teasing and is pretty forward with sexual stuff in private (after establishing relationship). An indulging top in VinceRody, a power bottom in RodyVince but can get embarrassed with PDA...unless he's specifically trying to shoo people away from Rody lol. The type that is violent with bites, scratches, maybe a weaker stamina compared to Rody? 💀💀. The leader in bed usually (bottom or top). Not very cuddly but can be if he wants to. A tsundere. I think this embarrassment with kisses and stuff is multiplied in RodyVince.
In my head, because Rody isn't used to being in relationship with men, he's the one being taught and trained by Vince. In VinceRody, he's learning how to accept what he's being given instead of constantly being the giver (cough). Someone who's not used to being doted on and gradually allows Vince to indulge him. Super embarrassed at first but eventually gives in and learns he can have his own wants. I'm biased towards this type of dynamic @u@ For RodyVince, I guess it'd be the idea that Vince can handle Rody's extreme devotion to his partner. Vince will teach him how to do what (this still applies to VR). I see Rody as submissive both as a top and bottom bahaha. Also likes to hug, kiss, cuddle, etc (nonsexual) for both VR and RV. Is ok with PDA more than Vince.
I think that's everything off the top of my head. A lot of my thoughts for one can be applied to the other so it's hard for me to distinguish VinceRody vs RodyVince other than who's receiving. Both are good, I prefer drawing VinceRody (bottom Rody) at the moment but I might draw more RV in the future >:))))))
(Drawing R18 stuff is a challenge though. I struggle with positioning and faces and basically everything 🥲)

I never knew what oomf meant but I keep seeing it all over twitter. Didn't bother researching the definition until someone used it for me (GOATED ARTIST AM STILL WONDERING IF I'M DREAMING). So I looked it up and now I am enlightened to internet term lol.
The text message one was just me deadplate brainrotting. My friend sent that last text (doesn't know deadplate) and all I thought of was the scene after Vince bites Rody's ear BAHAHA. It was 3am when I drew this one...I think I was trying to make Rody get ptsd cause of that line??? Idk...
Buffet one was an all you can eat with friend. I ordered minimum 3 of every dessert after the main stuff (increased the amount depending on what I liked more) and my friend was slightly concerned. I finished it (am glutton)

When I started (11pm -ish), I was drawing in between other random stuff (watching food video, play Library of Ruina, etc) so I took a while 💀💀 I think around 12-1am (after I finished drawing 1) a person joined. I was able to draw with them for a bit on the second one!
After they left I drew Eds and Benny, wasn't expecting anyone to join anymore so I was greedy with space (sorry bahaha). Fell asleep mid-drawing (around 2:30am to 3:00?am Again apologies whoever joined). Woke up the next day and saw more drawings on second + a new third page!!!! I felt so bad for falling asleep TT
Ended up continuing the drawing 3 page at night alone. Drew some self indulgent stuffs; Rody singing Ailee's "I will go to you like first snow" based off the lower key version in mask singer kocowa. I imagine Rody knows a lot of love songs for karaoke bahaha. Vince as Queen of Hatred from Library of Ruina (am stuck on this abnormality thing TT). Stopped there.
Then the next day I saw more doodles on drawing 3!!!! This was after my lab around 5pm. Ended up doodling little responses (COUGH DULCINEA RODY COUGH), started the fourth page. As I was drawing coincidentally someone joined. Ended up drawing with them for a long time (ASTER GOATED ARTIST JUMPSCARE!!! I LOVE YOU). I had so much fun 🥹🥹 had to leave after since I was drawing at a cafe (closes at 11pm). Got home around 12:10am egh...but worth it
And that's been my experience so far with magma LOLLL. I love how there's always something new when I open the canvas up haha (doodle or writing). Also the absolute brainy no worky feeling with how random everything gradually becomes. I'll be drawing again on the weekend. If anyone wants to join let me know and I'll leave the link!! :D
Chapter 31: Happy 2nd Anniversary DeadPlate!! + strawpage and misc doodle
Summary:
Some strawpage and random doodles from twitter! It was Dead Plate anniversary on November 6. Did a rough idea on phone during train commute then rushed out the final doodle when I got home haha.
Vinny on Twitter did a mutual art style challenge and included my art style as part of it! I was so happy I ended up drawing a response doodle hehe (drawing 5, basically my reaction to seeing Vinny's drawing LOL). If you're interested please take a look, they did such a good job capturing everyone's style ^^
The snow drawing was done yesterday while waiting for the bus. Snow came earlier than I expected this year so I wasn't prepared for the cold TT (0°C but felt like -8~10°C with windchill). My brother got sick of waiting in the cold so he went back to the station while I fooled around with the fresh snow outside. This eventually became the last drawing's inspiration.

Oh god looking back at it now it’s so random BAHAHAA. Using the text message chat is a pain so we wrote on the canvas for communication. Some things I wanted to point out:
In the top right corner, I was confirming with tm67 if they were a twitter user I followed. Then they asked me to guess and I was panicking but I got it right haha. Some of the initial conversation was erased to make space. Also Chef Rody was holding a knife but I erased it to write LOL.
Upper middle with the three guys at a table - I drew Vince, Levi (Attack on Titan), and Roland (Library of Ruina) together. Mainly because they look similar (they all have short black hair with the same side parted) and I love them all. Levi Heichou was also featured in a previous magma with Aster so I guess he's cemented himself 😂
“Oh no” southwest of the table drawing was because Vinny had his earring fall off while drawing (I hope he found it TT)
The Pokemon artist joined a little later after us. They really were too good especially the flygon and ampharos?????? LIKE HOLY - I hope they were alright with all the chaos going on around them and us thirsting after characters 💀💀

Some strawpage again + random solo magma doodle in progress. Drawing kiss is so hard....it hurts my brain. I also ended up making some keychains for myself (coping from missing out on texas SIG art stall), they are beautiful and I keep them in my pocket like good luck charms LOL. Ended up eating Nene chicken after band practice (fatty lamoree).

Vince reminds me of Roland from Ruina appearance wise, but personality and story wise Rody suits Roland better. I think they'd be good friends (rody and roland, angelica and manon!!)

Sorry for not sharing the doodles for a while TT exams are FINALLY OVER and I want to draw lots of stuff !!!! Have planned a few projects. Fan manga for fanfic thats been sitting in my tablet (sorry firefly its been so long), potential short manga for my club (?) art gauntlet powerup, hopefully I haven't spread myself too thin....
I'll be working on strawpage requests in between as well so if you have any feel free to leave them! I usually go by order unless there's a super cute/fun/neat idea that has my body move on its own bahaha. Will also leave some notes in after notes about a few of the drawings.

The first two were drawings for Renn and Lem on twitter. I promised myself no drawing during exam studying but their art made me give up lol (no strawpage at the time though)
Third drawing was inspired by my experience at korean cafe. They're really nice so I try to practice ordering in korean there (took a course but barely retains). Only ordered successfully twice, the last time I went I messed up (was confused when I heard 따뜻한 was expecting 핫) and I got so embarassed I waited around a month before going back TT I decided to study there (exam next day) and was about to order, but then switched to english last minute......then I ended up drawing that doodle before studying 💀💀
Ordering in korean is hard.....japanese is easier for me lol

So for the first comic, I had a post closing shift incident. Basically I was super hungry and it was 1AM so I thought "ok make instant noodles to not disturb society that is everyone sleeping." When I eat noodles I usually eat from the pot to save dishes and use a cutting board (about size of a laptop) so the heat doesn't ruin the table.
I ended up turning on the wrong knob for the stove and scorched the cutting board TTTT the smoke was bad and everyone woke up. I think I have the photo in my twitter. But yeah PSA please be careful when you use stove when you're super tired from work and about to fall asleep.
For the magma it was on the 26th so I did it Christmas themed. Only one person joined while I was active (then had to leave early) so I became greedy with space (I'm sorry). Woke up and saw people left some doodles! I was so happy but also guilty for missing them. My beloved H.M. joined and we drew for a bit, then I posted the art.
LAST but yesterday I was supposed to work on a comic thing for my friend but ended up doing an animation. Idk why...I was fooling around and before I knew it my whole day went to making the video 🫠🫠 animation hard...

Summary:
Some doodles I've done since the beginning of new year :DD
The "forgotten chocolate" manga was inspired by me forgetting a free lindt in my jacket...it was fine all day until I was at a cafe studying (siting on my jacket). I was packing to leave then realized the surprise in my pocket 😭😭 wet wipes are lifesaver.

Some arts over the last few weeks. The magma there were five of us drawing!! I usually draw alone or miss people when they join (fall asleep) so I was super happy, it felt like a party :DD The second magma was mostly me and Adallie.

Chapter 44: Strawpages (sick vince, fem vincerody, Rody Birthday animation)
Summary:
Happy new year! Some more strawpages and random doodles that I made. The third one was a gift for hyunmi on twitter, inspired by their writing "White Night." If interested I'll leave the links for part 1 and part 2 :DDD hyunmi is so kind, I highly recommend reading their work!!!
I also completed an animation for Rody's birthday gift. Am immensely proud, it took since the first day of January this year, little by little after classes and studying (over a month). Chapter 48: Not Host Magma and Style Change Vincerody
Summary:
Some doodles I did on a magma!!! This time I wasn't host, it was my first experience being on a separate magma....I was scared but it turned out so much fun. I'm glad I took the courage to join, so many talented artists and beautiful doodles!
Coloured drawing was late April Fool's....the joke was that it was in colour aha (I almost exclusively work in monochrome because colour hurts my brain)...also tried a different style, the bubble dialogue gives hint where its from. Its been busy due to finals season, but I'll get back to strawpages once its over :D

Chapter 49: Happy Shift, Magma, Vince tug Rody
Summary:
Some doodles over the last week :D
The first one was inspired by a shift, I was working and for some reason a lot of customers were calling me "cute" and "sweet" 😭😭😭❓❓❓ there was a scary looking customer that came in and after I was done talking to him, he also called me cute (!???)... My first impression was extremely different from after he started talking LMAO
I also hosted magma on the weekend for destress, I'm used to drawing alone but then croco showed up to doodle!! I was really shocked and happy they took time to draw with me 🥹🥹 I was laughing so much from their reactions and amazed by the speed !!! Was fed a teeny vincerody doodle from another oomf artist later on too....im so grateful...TT
Vince tug was post exam fun, I can't get over how cute him tugging on rody's apron is and before I realise the drawing grew LOL

Chapter 50: 50 Chapters!! Wowow!!
Summary:
Have officially reach 50 chapters of VinceRody arts!!!! Am very surprised I've been able to continue drawing them for so long. It feels like a personal journaling in a way aha, I love the idiot french sons very much. I'm grateful to everyone who's visited and left a kudos or kind comments!!! Always it makes my day to reread :))))
I've decided to redraw some of my earliest doodles/comics as a celebration of sorts along with sharing other doodles I've done in between. Hello!!! its been a while!!!
Ive finally finished the first set of merch so I decided to take a little break and draw other stuffs. For the second one, I went out the other day with my friend and we had korean bbq. Usually when I eat with other people I'm always cooking the meat but with them they cook for me instead hehe, it makes me feel so loved. Also this one song from back in elementary (J'ai faim, j'ai soif) has been stuck in my brain so thats there too LOL
Last one, I had a doodle I started back in may for Maid Day (メイドの日）and today I finally finished the drawing 😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️ i initially wasn't going to colour (keep to my usual blue monochrome) but I was having so much fun it became coloured in the end.....a rare sight in my eyes...

Chapter 53: Hanahaki vince, happy moments, strawberries
Summary:
Hellooooo!! I had fun colouring with the maid rody so I tried to colour these next few drawings! It takes way more time since im slow and there's a lot of improvement to be made TTTT but I think they look ok after working monochrome for so long.
For hanahaki vince, I got carried away looking at flowers...probably like 3 hours of scrolling pages TTTT finally ended up with tuberoses (dangerous pleasure) and golden poppies (wealth, success, "don't leave me behind"). I thought they fit well for him hehe
The other drawings I was feeling down so I wanted to draw lots of happy vincerody. The strawberry one, my senior was teaching me to hull strawberries so that there's less waste and they kept telling me "if you can't it's ok, don't hurt yourself, be careful." They ended up watching from the corner to make sure I was ok haha. Then next shift I got too confident thinking I was speedstar slicer and ended up cutting my wrist 😶🌫️😶🌫️
