Chapter Text
adrien’s pov:
adrien woke up with a pounding head ache. he brought his hand to his head, hissing in a breath of air through his teeth.
he pushed himself up, his eyes still tightly closed as he tried to keep his head ache from worsening. once he felt the pain start to drift away he opened his eyes, trying to process the unfamiliar surroundings.
he didn’t see his new room, the random splotches of paint on the wall, the cardboard box as a bedside table. instead he was in some smaller room that was a mess. clothes were everywhere and the mattress he was sleeping on was practically falling off the bed.
he scrunched his eyes, “where am i?” he whispered to himself, “plagg? do you know where we are?” he asked. when he got no answer, adrien got to his feet, “plagg? plagg!” he looked to his finger. his ring was gone.
his breath hitched, his hand going to his chest as his heart began to beat rapidly against his chest. “where.. where am i? what is this place?” he whispered to himself.
there was a sudden knock at the door, making adrien jump from being startled. “lloyd? breakfast is ready!” a voice adrien had never heard before spoke from the other side.
adrien was beyond confused. who was lloyd? when he didn’t say anything, the voice only spoke again: “lloyd? you alright?”
”uh.. yeah, im good!” adrien attempted to sound like whoever lloyd could be.
”are you sure? you sound a little funky?” the voice questioned.
drone thought quick, forcing out a couple coughs, “uh yeah! sorry! just a cough.” he lied.
”we’ll be out soon! or else cole will eat all the pancakes!”
adrien felt his heart sink into his stomach. pancakes. just like what his father used to make. “uh huh.” he said loud enough for the mysterious person to hear.
he noticed a picture on the floor. he bent down to pick it up, looking closely at it. it was a group photo of what adrien assumed to be a group of friends. he examined it more to see a face that looked all to similar to his own face.
that had to be lloyd. why else would he be some place he had never seen before if he didn’t look like this weird lookalike.
he looked at the mirror, looking at his own face before looking at lloyd’s again. there were some differences, like the fact lloyd had pointed ears.
adrien grabbed a green hoodie that was on the group and slipped in on over his head. he let the hood stay on over his head, keeping his ears hidden. he may look a lot like this lloyd guy, but he still didn’t know who he was or where he was. he assumed lloyd was back home with nathalie.
he unlocked the door, and took a step into the hallway. as he walked down a hallway that seemed to never end, he saw a blue blur headed into a room.
he followed the blur, which turned out to be a person in blue. he had managed to find the kitchen, seeing a group of people. it was the same group that was in the picture with lloyd. did they all live together?
”morning lloyd!” a boy in red spoke up, “i saved you some food before the big back got it.” he glared at a boy who was dressed in back, shoving a face full of food.
that boy cocked an eyebrow, “big back? okay porcupine.”
adrien had a soft smile form onto his face, “thank you.” he said, going to sit next to the red boy.
the porcupine boy in red gave adrien a plate that had pancakes on it. his heart began to sink again, looking at the food his father once made for him. he poked at the food with his fork, only wondering what lloyd was doing.
lloyd’s pov
the loud roaring of blaring beeps shook lloyd away, causing him to blast a surge of energy at the alarm clock. it also caused the cardboard box that was being used as a night stand to topple over. lloyd took a couple of deep breaths, looking around. he was on a little mattress on the ground.
“woah kid, what in the world was that?” a sudden voice spoke from a flying black creature.
lloyds eyes widened, causing him to scoot back until he was up against the wall that was painted kind of odd, “uh uh.. who in the first spinjitzu master are you! what are you?!”
the black creature looked confused, “uhm.. are you feeling okay adrien?” he asked.
”adrien?” lloyd cocked an eyebrow, still confused and frightened, “who is adrien?” he questioned
”uhm.. you are?” the black creature answered.
Lloyd shook his head, “no.. my name is lloyd.. who.. who are you? and where am i?”
the creature narrowed his eyes at lloyd, “wait.. you aren’t adrien.. your ears-“
”that is literally what i just said,” lloyd threw his hands up, “who are you?”
the black creature sighed, “i don’t want to go through this again..” he sounded a little annoyed, “my name is plagg, and i am a kwami. specifically, the kwami of destruction,” he then looked down to adrien’s hand where the miraculous of the black cat was sitting on his ring finger, “how did you get adrien’s miraculous?”
”i don’t even know who adrien is!” lloyd said, holding his head in his hands, “oh my goodness.. what is going on?”
”look kid, calm down. we need to figure this out together,” plagg said, holding out his hands to assure lloyd, “i can only assume that adrien is where ever you came from. where do you live?”
lloyd rested up against the wall, starting to calm down, “im from ninjago. where are we right now?”
”this is paris!” plagg answered, “where is ninjago?” he cocked his head.
”where is paris?” lloyd asked. plagg and lloyd both sighed at the same time. “well that isn’t good.” lloyd mumbled. that was when a phone started to buzz. he looked over and picked up the device. he was getting a call from some one named marinette. he looked up at plagg, “who is marinette?” he asked.
”that is adrien’s girlfriend, he is madly in love with her. you need to answer.” plagg said.
lloyd looked confused, “wait what? why should i answer it? i’m not adrien.”
plagg shrugged, “yeah but for some reason you look almost identical to him, besides the ears. in fact i was scared you were felix for a moment.” he rambled on.
lloyd cocked an eyebrow, “felix?”
”ill explain later, just answer the phone. she won’t be able to hear or see me so just do as i say okay?” plagg instructed.
lloyd nodded his head, swiping on the phone to answer the call. before he knew it a dark haired girl with bright blue eyes appeared on his screen, “good morning adrien! how did you sleep?”
lloyd smiled at her, looking to plagg who told him to say: “good mari! how about you?”
marinette blushed a shade of pink, “good, thank you,” she tilted her head, “hey are you feeling alright? your voice sounds a bit different.” she pointed out.
lloyd nodded his head, taking the lead on this one before plagg could give him any instructions, “oh yeah! sorry just uh..” he forced our a cough, “a little cough, you know? i’m all good!” he assured.
marinette smiled, “okay! if you’re sure! i’ll see you at school okay! love you!” she hung up.
lloyds eyes widened, “i have to go to school?” he asked plagg.
plagg nodded his head, “yeah all kids have to, don’t you?”
Lloyds shook his head, “i haven’t been to school since i was like ten years old!”
plaggs face scrunched, “how old are you exactly?”
lloyds eyes widened again. he looked awkwardly away as a nervous chuckle left him, “what a great question, i don’t have an answer for you.” he gave him an anxious smile.
plagg blinked, “you don’t know how old you are?”
lloyd shook his head, “how old are you?”
plagg remained silent for a beat before saying: “well looks like we have something in common. now come on, let’s get you ready for school.”
plagg showed lloyd into adriends closet. lloyd scanned the clothes that all looked too similar to each other. “does adrien not have any variety in his life?” he questioned.
”uh.. it’s complicated. his dad used to make all the decisions for him before he uh.. died. now he doesn’t exactly know what the wear, or how do design his room, or even what he wants to do when he grows up.” plagg explained.
lloyd hummed, “i get that. i’ve had my whole life planned out for me since i was born. destiny and whatnot,” he shrugged, “will it matter what i wear?”
plagg shook his head, “no just stick to what is in the closet.” he suggested.
lloyd grabbed a black tee shirt with stripes and blue jeans. he slipped them on, feeling a little uncomfortable, “how do people function in these?” he asked, “i literally only wear gis and when im not in a gi im in comfy clothes and this isn’t comfy.”
”sorry,” plagg shrugged, “now where is your jacket?” he asked.
”do i need one?” lloyd furrowed his eyebrows.
“well you might want one if you want me to help you navigate through the day,” plagg suggested, then hissing through his teeth, “also, no one knows about this.” plagg flew by lloyd’s arm.
lloyd looked down at the scars on his arm, “oh.. adrien also has… these?” he asked. plagg nodded his head, looking a little sad, “sorry, my family and friends know about about my scars, i just didn’t think.”
”it’s fine,” plagg assured him, “now come on. we can’t have you be late to school.”
lloyd sighed, “yippie.”
