Knock–Knock–Knock…
Virgil was lying on the floor in his room, thinking about the events of that morning. It had been less than a day, and everyone had already confessed their feelings for each other. Now they were all dating each other, and Thomas was…
Well, Thomas was ignoring it all. And rightfully so!
It was a weird concept in general.
‘We’ll be fine’ My ass. Sure, we’ll get better eventually! But..
But Virgil couldn’t help but think about how everything could go wrong.
I guess that’s what I get for being Anxiety.
Everyone is dating now! We’re all happy!
But Virgil couldn’t help but think about how he could ruin everything.
How can I ever love again? After what happened with Janus…
So here Virgil was, lying on the floor, looking up at the cobwebs on his ceiling, processing what had transpired, frigid tears streaming down the sides of his face.
There was another knock on the door, and Virgil called, “Who is it?”
“ It’s uh.. It’s Janus… ” the serpentine himself spoke through the door.
“Oh..” He thought for a moment, contemplating whether to let him enter or not.
Eventually, he called, “Come in.”
He heard a creak from the door and felt Janus’ presence enter.
He didn’t say anything, just sat next to Virgil on the floor.
After a few moments, Virgil spoke.
“Why do you love them more than you love me..?”
“I- Virgil, I never meant to leave you like that–”
“You shunned me. You forced me to leave, and now that we’re all together, you’ve ignored me once again!” Virgil sobbed, sitting up and looking at Janus with tears in his eyes, “You love them more than you’ve ever loved me…”
“Virgil..” Janus said, a genuinely sad look on his face. How..? He doesn’t—
“I never stopped loving you… I’ve regretted the day I forced you out ever since… I’m sorry I let my emotions get the better of me, and I’m sorry I haven’t addressed us… I was scared… I promise you’ll always be my first love.”
Virgil stared at him in shock, tears still flowing freely.
Then, he collapsed, hiding his face and curling in on himself, his body shaking with every sob.
He felt Janus’ six arms wrap around him, his two extra pairs popping out.
“I’ve never stopped loving you, Virgil…”
They stayed like that for who knows how long, Virgil crying in his arms, Janus rubbing calming circles in his back.
Just like they used to.
It was like they could really go back to loving each other again.
Maybe Virgil could love again.
Maybe Thomas will be alright.
‘ Maybe everything will go wrong again! Maybe they’ll all shun you like they should’ve years ago!’ A little voice spoke in his head, making him wince and cry harder.
“Hey, Hey, it’s okay..” Janus murmered. Like he could read Virgil’s mind.
Oh, right, he can. He’s Deceit.
“I promise I won’t hurt you anymore. None of us will. We won’t make you leave… Ask anyone, we all love you!” he comforted, pressing small kisses to the top of Virgil’s head.
“I- I know, It’s just… It’s hard not to worry…”
“And that’s alright. But, like Logan said, You can come to any of us. We love you. So, so much, Virgil.”
Virgil hugged Janus tighter, saying nothing more.
Maybe we will be fine.
“I love you too, Janus…”
