Work Text:

Damian Wayne wasn't used to parties. He never liked them and even at his big age of 17, he didn't like them at all. Frequently, the parties would escape his class and flood into other years. And the games were frivolous and the drinking, horrendous. And so he'd sit in the corner, waiting for his friends and he'd drive them back home. Drinking never was his style anyways. It clouded your senses. And so it was the same drill all over again.

Maya didn't drink either for similar reasons. She'd rather not test the boundaries. But she still participated in the games occasionally. And so sometimes he would also be dragged into these games. Games that had seniors involved because anything below 17 was a no-go. And so it was the juniors and the seniors involved. People he'd never seen before. He knew a few faces maybe, but nothing substantial. He stuck close to Maya, it created an illusion that they were dating or at least interested in each other.

But at parties, even that rule would get tossed out the window for a game of fun. But he sat by her, in his green plaid overshirt and jeans. The seniors all clumped together on the other side, no one of any importance to him. Another one of his friends, Tristan, took his other side. He had met Tristan in an art club, where Tristan did more digital work but the digital room in the art rooms reminded him of the Batcave. It was more comfortable there.

Someone placed an empty, hastily chugged beer bottle in the centre of the circle.

"So we all know how this works." Colton smirked. "We spin the bottle, whoever is on the ends of the bottle, go into that closet-" He pointed to the old wooden closet, much too big for any good except a game like this. "And they make out for a few minutes, yeah?"

The clearly not sober ones cheered to this.

"Man, I'm gonna freak if it's a girl." Tristan whispered, his floppy black hair in the way of his striking blue eyes.

Damian scanned the people he could get shoved into the closet with: Maps, not bad but awkward; Adhara, a girl he knew and tried something with a year before but she was a lesbian and he didn't think it was right; and finally a senior who he didn't know. She had blonde-ish hair, and grey-green eyes. She was wearing a Sex Pistols t-shirt, over clearly ripped and sewn plaid trousers. She looked happy but not buzzed. The eye-hair colour combo was weird especially with her skin colour being just a shade lighter than Damian's own.

Not bad options.

And so it spun wildly for a while, before settling on two seniors. An awkward 5 minutes passed, where people would just giggle or drink even more. He talked to Tristan and Maya mostly, but he could see the senior out of the corner of his eye still glaring at him. She stopped when Tristan got up to go get another drink. He said something to him and Maya in Chinese they both didn't quite catch. He slurred his words and his accents weren't entirely correct. It annoyed the hell out of Damian.

Colton spun the bottle again. The lip of the bottle landed on Damian. The bottom landed on the senior who glared at him.

"Mr Damian Wayne and Miss Alessia Knox!" Colton grinned like a madman. "Get in."

They stepped towards the door like it was doom. She was a little shorter than him but not by much. She didn't even look that much older than he was, maybe a few months. She opened the door, beckoning for him to go in. He stepped in graciously as she followed him in. They shut the door and the timer started counting down.

"You don't seem like the type of guy to make out with a random someone." She smiled shyly, but it was a lying façade, a challenge was waiting behind that mask.

"I'm not."

"I'm Alessia. I know who you are."

"Damian Wayne."

A brief commotion sounded muffled outside, like someone in a rage.

"You wanna just talk?"

"Sure."

They slid down the walls, sitting on the floor with a thump. Their knees were to each other's chests, resting right below their chins. It was quiet for a moment as Damian inspected his surroundings. Who knew where this girl had come from?

"The only reason I'm here is because my brother insisted on coming." Her eyes narrowed in on him like a hawk. "Now you...you don't seem like a party guy either."

"My father likes me going out."

"That makes sense."

"Are you a senior?"

"Yeap, my brother's in your year though."

Outside the door, Tristan returned with a drink in hand, noticing the lack of Damian. "Where's the Crown Prince?"

"He's in there." Maya jerked her head.

"Where's my sister?"

"Your who?" She replied, confused.

Kyle Mizoguchi appeared from the kitchen, eyes trying to focus. "Alessia? Wasn't she sitting next to Mia?"

"That blonde girl's your sister?"

"Yeah, my twin sister, we were meant to be in the same year but she's way smarter so she went up."

Maps squeaked from her position. Colton looked away, grabbing at his collar, now sweating bullets.

"Where's my sister?" Tristan's voice had taken on a threatening tone.

"She went in with Damian."

The aggression regressed. He paused. Then he burst into laughter. "Finally, they both need to get laid sometime."

"You have any hobbies?"

"Yes, martial arts."

"C'mon, really? That's it? Nothing normal?"

"I like animals...and drawing."

"That's nice...I like that." Her chin jutted out to get closer to his face. "Damn, your eyes are pretty."

His eyes were a troubling whirlpool of emerald green, lurching for freedom. Hers were a kaleidoscopic hazel, switching with every sliver of light that hit them. They were entrancing, a pain in the ass to paint but entrancing nonetheless. He tipped her face towards his with his index, admiring her like a precious and fragile artefact in a museum full of renovation and redecorations. She was the only thing to be able to care about in this empty, dark, hollow space, no light but her own shining through. She was a beauty in the rough and he'll be damned if he didn't at least get her number.

"You're not in a relationship, are you?" He mused, still tilting her from side to side.

"No one cares enough about me to date me." She added on quickly."I'm too busy too."

"Of course." He realised with a start. "Who's your brother?"

"Tristan?"

"Ah, right. I don't see it."

"I'm prettier?" She joked. "No, no, he looks like mum, I look like dad." She mumbled an added word under her breath.

"Unfortunately? Why unfortunately?"

"You heard that? Oh well, he wasn't the best." She looked up. "You're nice to talk to."

"You're lying."

"Excuse me?"

"No one says that."

"I'm a minority so I'm lying? No, you're nice to talk to, I like this." She picked at the peeling paint. "It's quiet in here."

"It is." He hummed in agreement. "You're not from Gotham, are you?"

"Liverpool, then Star City." She laughed slightly before shutting herself up. "So no, I'm not from here. Thank god, cause this place is a shithole."

He still couldn't help but just stare at her for a few more seconds. Her skin was imperfect, not like some of the other girls who looked like dolls. It wasn't bad, it was just rather refreshing to see someone like this. Not many of the students were his skin tone either. She was maybe a touch darker than him but it was still nice to look at. He took her hand from her side and rested it atop his own knee, as if trying to drag her closer in.

"You seem eager to get to know me." She once again teased.

"You seem interesting."

She was normal by all accounts and she seemed pretty into him already as he attempted to lure him into the trap that was his heart. The thing he thought was an abyss but was really capable of love. It's just that love came more abstract to him and his family as they weren't normal people. She grinned as she manoeuvred her way to press her forehead against his lightly. Alessia's laugh was mellifluous in the dark of the closet; overflowing with joy and sweetness no one else had given him in his life before now.

"We can try to kiss, y'know, that's the whole point."

"I know, I'm just-"

"Scared? Terrified?"

"No!" He exclaimed as quiet as he could.

"Don't worry, it's like that everyone's first time." She whispered back, a joking tone edging in her voice. "I won't shame you for it. It's just like that. I'll teach you."

She rose up again, insisting it was easier this way. He took her hand, rising as well. Resting his hands on her waist, she smiled in a slight shock.

"Wow, alright. So you do know how to do this."

She wrapped her arms around his neck, creating a pulley motion with both their sets of arms. When one pulled closer, the other did too. Damian thanked whatever entity up there that it was a dark closet, for if she could see him now, he would be an embarrassing shade of crimson red. Oh Thank God Mother couldn't see this other, she'd berate him.

Alessia pulled him in to touch foreheads again, the height difference slightly more evident now. She was maybe 3 inches shorter, which was still impressive with Damian's stature of 6'1. He planted a soft kiss on her forehead, completely on accident.

"Woah, now we're moving."

"That wasn't meant to be...a kiss." Damian tried to explain but it was a happy little mistake.

"I know, it didn't seem purposeful, let's make the next one better." Her smirk was a shit-eating grin, one he would wear on patrols when he was young.

She pulled him in closer, holding him by the back of the neck even when he squirmed. His body wasn't used to the sudden deprivation of air, thinking he was being suffocated or such. But God, if he wanted to die, he wouldn't mind going out like this. That is, of course until he returned to his senses. Melting into it, pulling her closer in, he was grinning under the kiss. Her lips were soft and had a taste to it. Unlike his.

Alessia thought of his lips as rough, chapped, bloody even. Where he had tasted cherry, she had tasted iron, like he never put on lip balm in his life. She could feel the glowing smile under her lips, her mouth growing with it. Her teeth bit down softly on his peeling skin, wanting to peel it off just a bit. To just draw blood like a vampire, as if it would bond them for forever.

She ran her hands through his raven black hair, trying to feel for every snag and knot she could find. He went for the edges of her blonde hair, grabbing at it like a lifeboat to keep him from drowning in a sea of endless pleasure. Some part of him wanted to dip farther into her shirt but maybe next time, when they knew each other better.

"And that's how you do it."

The timer went off on the outside as the doors swung open. A groan of disappointment sounded from the crowd as they emerged and weren't kissing anymore. Damian was still smiling wide-eyed like a borderline insane person, still feeling the taste of her on his lips. She wiped away the smeared balm from her lips using her thumb, combing her hair back to make herself look more presentable.

She grinned as she made her way to her brother's side. Tristan was judging Damian with as much threat he could muster in on face.

"Didn't sound like much was going on in there." Colton grumbled.

"Yeah, not much, Colt." Alessia grinned a scheming grin. "But, uh Damian. I'm free on Tuesdays and Fridays. I could always give you extra lessons in Professor Hastings' classroom after school if you'd like."

"I think I'd be more comfortable if we did it at my house." He smirked back.

She kissed him on the cheek, before dragging her brother out of the room, leaving the party entirely.

He touched where she had kissed absentmindedly, patting it as if he were scared it would fade away. He sighed, before shaking his head as a smile broke out onto his face.
