A Grey Human (and a bit of bear lovin'!~) DO NOT READ THIS. THIS SUCKS. 0/10

Summary:

So basically: A Human (named #####) falls down and meets The Honeydew Shopkeeper.

The human (total apathetic loser) starts to like the Shopkeeper and so does she.

[Insert badly written romance/everything.]

Then [insert alternate chapters where either the shopkeeper or the human kills the other]

Notes:

This (first chap) dwells a bit more on the human before the whole selfshipping thing. Also, this is my first fic. Problems are always bound to spawn in.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Mostly human, no, it's all just human. Fuck.

Notes:

I had to rewrite the first part of Descent because it used to be VEEEEERY distasteful...like why are you jumping into a pit the worst thing they did to you was call you 'weird emo grey guy'

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Preface - A Human.

The human, certified orphanage resident and orphanage worker. Spent all 19 years of their miserable and lonely life in that same ancient looking orphanage building, the fate only the most unloved and unwanted child would suffer.

But even so, it seems they didn't even care, as long as they had a name…which was ##### All they cared about was continuing to live and exist as is. The only thing they seemed to hate were the other kids, annoying, stupid, and general nuisances.

Ranging from the average wayward kid to kids pretending to stab people with toy knives, kids that just punch you for no reason, the blue one (eugh…the horrors…), and so many more weirdos. However there were some positives, like a few actual friends that…most of the time didn't stay long, sad.

And it's not like they make themself easy to talk to anyway. The most they did was respond with the simple yes and no, sometimes straight up just not answering. Ignoring, walking away, or just hiding themself from the general public. Most of the time they've spent here is so easily condensed to : Live rent free, Occasionally work so they don't get kicked out for staying there despite being just two years from legal drinking age, hide from the kids, and generally just be miserable in their cramped yet 'cozy' room. But there was always one thing they could look up to, figuratively and literally.

Those being the...

STARS.

Everytime they get tired, annoyed, or just way too miserable. They wait until night, sneak out, and stare up at that beautiful star-studded sky. Scanning the shining and shimmering sky just to feel an odd sense of comfort and peace…a comfort that was only ever provided by that bleak room back at the orphanage, and peace they only ever experienced whenever the building went quiet… a beautiful life...well actually a pretty boring one but hey who cares.

The Human and Their Descent.

July 20XX

Mt. Ebott, a place they never expected to find themself at...

Long story short, the human had just about of all those kids either banging at their door or the sounds of their footsteps right outside their room. And now all they want is their oh-so-precious alone time! Talk about an angsty teenager... they're way too old to even BE acting like this.

One problem they have though is...they really have no idea what the hell to do on or...in front of a mountain. They could draw it...as if they haven't drawn it 4 minutes before that...they could run around and be whimsical? Nah, too out of place for them. Or maybe...They should go into that blocked off part of the mountain..! That's a good and safe idea, totally, it's not like the people who did so have a reason to have blocked that part off.

Snap, snap, snap. They snap off the last few pieces of intact caution tape blocking the entrance and burst in. Surprisingly there was a whole cave in here! Pillars and all...so maybe those stories they overheard from the kids were true. And what's even more interesting is the massive sinkhole..?

They've heard this in those stories before but they always assumed they were just kiddie stories, who wouldn't, those were just kids passing around whatever they heard after all...but no, somehow those kids were even more correct than they ever were.

Out of curiosity, they go ahead and get closer to the sinkhole to draw it for what reason? No reason! They just liked being in active danger that day it seems...

One step.

Two steps

Three steps.

Four steps.

And one last step, right at the edge of the sinkhole. It's so dark and cold looking...it seemed so endless too! It'd be certain death if they just so happened to accidentally trip and fall into that deep dark pit...

But that's excactly what happens, one step too close...and the small chunk of ground beneath them crumbles. Causing them to fall down and feel the first ounces of genuine fear in their life. And of course, even in certain death, they hold their notebook tight.

Here it comes...the cold and expected oblivion of death at the end of the pit.

Crack...crack...crack...

They've landed with a sickening crack...dead on arrival it seems...

But somehow, by some miracle…they don't die? They...survived!

That doesn't mean they aren't completely unscathed; however, they have a few broken bones that occasionally let out sickening cracks when moved and a bunch of wounds in the face and arms.

But it's somehow bearable to them..?

What's weird to them is the reason that they're alive was because they landed in a bed of... golden flowers..? Buttercups..? They've seen these before but have never ever really tested how absorbent they were of someone falling...

It's a strange sight to see at the bottom of an almost lightless pit but it's convenient… Not the being at being a landing pad but they're alive and that's all that matters. So the fallen gets up, stumbling forward before…falling over, again, and again, and again. Unable to make even a slight bit of progress forward...and everytime they fall they get even more pained...they have never been in such physical agony in all their life.

Until, an encounter… but they were so battered, so hurt to even register this person's face, let alone understand what they, no, what SHE said. They are carried, feeling a warmth building up that somehow makes them feel better as they and this mysterious person walk through. But just as they felt like they could finally register their surroundings and move painlessly... They trip, and fall into another, much smaller hole that seemed to be in the progress of being covered.

The human would look up as they fell, finally registering seeing the face of what they assumed was just a weird old lady living in a pit somehow who decided to save them.

She wasn't a human, far from it actually, she was a goat! Or...was it a goat? They still don't know.

And before they fully realized that fact…thud, everything fades to black once more…. Were they dead..?

No. Not at all. The fall wasn't too far and they would survive and eventually reawaken

They sit idly and take a look at their surroundings, purple worn out bricks and overgrown vines and plants everywhere…well now what do they do? Lay down in that same landing spot and wait for the goat lady? Or do they make a move for it and look for somewhere else.

And after a bit of exploring and being attacked by some (oddly whimsical) 'monsters' as they were (worry not, person reading this, the human wasn't genocidal…at the moment.) they would sneak past…someone, probably a good idea with how scary they looked...in their eyes atleast.

And then they looked up and reached a door..! Could this be it? A way out somehow? Was this finally over? Thank the angel if that was the case.

And they pass through the door. Hopefully to a way out of this place...which it wasn't...it was way worse..
