Work Text:
Trevor and Brandon were both side by side leaned up against a door that's jammed shut. Their friends at the other side of the door chanting for them. The room filled with mixed emotions and unresolved feelings.
Their friends repeatedly shout ‘Kiss!’ behind the door, Trevor awkwardly looking at his feet and playing with his fingers.
Brandon looks anywhere but Trevor. Its as if the roof is so interesting.
They both wanted the floor to swallow them whole, cursing themselves for getting into this.
They got themselves in this situation. But they can’t seem to get out of it, unless they sucked it up and kissed, which they didn’t want to do. Or so they thought.
It was extremely awkward, Trevor loathed it, everything about this moment, he hated it.
Brandon is his best friend and he can’t ruin it, but it is just for a game, right? It was all fun and games.
Trevor suddenly stands up, Brandon following his lead, they now stand directly in front of each other, facing their fears. “Okay, let's just do this already, just kiss me.” Trevor tells him. He tried to act brave in front of Brandon, but it wasn’t fooling anyone.
Brandon scoffs, “No, I’m not going to kiss you.” He turns him down. Trevor never showed it but deep down that hurt. He felt like he got stabbed and Brandon twisted the knife.
“Kiss me.” Trevor was just desperate for this moment to end.
Brandon was feeling nauseous, “Stop.” He shut him down.
“God, Darrow, just kiss me already.” He was getting sick of the chants from his friends outside, the awkward silence between him and Brandon, he just wanted it to stop, he wanted to go back to playing drinking games with his friends, but here he was, his heart beating out his chest.
“No! Not like this.” Brandon blurts, Trevor felt like he got frozen in time
Scanning Brandons face, “What... What does that mean?” Trevor almost stuttered the words but he tried his best to keep his composure. He swallows the lump in his throat, waiting impatiently for an answer from Brandon.
Brandon on the other hand was a stuttering mess, “Nothing!” He stutters, “I just… I didn't mean it like that, we can't like that because–” He tries to form the words but he just simply can't.
To avoid his embarrassment, he simply mutters, “Excuse me a minute.” Brandon walks away, going to a window and just casually climbing out, walking on the ledge of the window and carefully going to the window that was at the living room / dining room area of the loft. Trevor tried to talk him out of it but he simply didn’t listen. Brandon bangs on the windows, his friends stop chanting and turn to the sound, them all screaming for him to get inside. Sean dramatically faints in fear for his friend while everyone else helps the idiot back inside. Once he is back inside, Rowan unlocks the door to where Trevor is (previously Brandon where Brandon was, too.)
After everyone shouts at Brandon calling him an idiot repeatedly , they decide to call it a night, deciding to go home or go to sleep in the shared loft.
Once again it was just Trevor and Brandon, side by side walking to their rooms which were across from each other, awkwardly laughing together.
Trevor pats his shoulder awkwardly, “Goodnight, Brandon.” To which he says back. Trevor goes to turn away but Brandon pulls him back, capturing Trevor into an unexpected but passionate kiss, wrapping his arms around him, Brandon then pulls away saying, “I’d meant something like that.” Before he walks into his room, leaving Trevor stranded with his thoughts.
Breathless, he puts his fingers to his lips, still in shock from what just happened as he walks back into his own room, falling right into bed, his head on the pillow as he lay there wide awake, his mind swarming with thoughts.
