Like a Virgin

Summary:

Kakyoin was 30 years old today, and his cherry had nothing to show for it.

Sure, he was an accomplished professional who made a decent living for himself. He was kind and respected by his colleagues. He could comfortably live alone in his own apartment without any worry about his finances.

And he wasn’t half-bad looking if he did say so himself.

But some small slimy part of Kakyoin never let him forget that despite all his accomplishments, he was still just a virgin who never really learned how to truly connect with other people. Each year that passed him by without getting fucked was just another reminder of how hopeless he was.

~

Alternatively, Kakyoin gains the ability to read minds after remaining a virgin at the age of 30. He realizes that he's in over his head when he uses his new power to read the mind of the CEO's handsome grandson.

Work Text:

Kakyoin was 30 years old today, and his cherry had nothing to show for it.

Sure, he was an accomplished professional who made a decent living for himself. He was kind and respected by his colleagues. He could comfortably live alone in his own apartment without any worry about his finances.

And he wasn’t half-bad looking if he did say so himself.

But some small slimy part of Kakyoin never let him forget that despite all his accomplishments, he was still just a virgin who never really learned how to truly connect with other people. Each year that passed him by without getting fucked was just another reminder of how hopeless he was.

Now he was 30 and more of an anomaly than ever. Polnareff teased him about it the night before when Kakyoin refused to get drinks with him. Kakyoin had never admitted to Polnareff that he was a virgin. He would never in a million years tell Polnaref that, but somehow, the oaf had put it together himself and relentlessly poked fun at him about it.

“You know,” Polnareff nudged him on the shoulder to take his attention away from his computer screen. Kakyoin was staying late at the office, as he usually did, and no one else was around. Polnareff had pushed a stack of files aside to sit on his desk and bother him. “There’s an old urban legend that if you’re still a virgin at 30, you turn into a wizard and gain magical powers.”

“Get your fat ass off my desk,” Kakyoin muttered while his eyes scanned an email Dio had forwarded him from a client.

Polnareff let out an especially fake-sounding gasp. “You think my ass is fat? Thank you! I’ve been working on my glutes more at the gym.”

Kakyoin rolled his eyes. “Please leave me alone. I have a lot of work to do.”

“You always have a lot of work to do,” Polnareff groaned. “Dio makes sure of that. Let’s just go out for drinks this one night! Please!? I could be your wingman!”

“No,” Kakyoin said. “I’d rather be a wizard than have you try to get me laid.”

Despite Polnareff’s moaning and groaning, Kakyoin stayed chained to his email until well after dark. He went home and collapsed into bed, not even taking the time to eat or change into his pajamas. He fell asleep almost instantly from exhaustion and woke up after it seemed only a moment had passed to his alarm at 6 AM, alerting him to get ready for another long day of work.

And with that, he was now in his 30th year of life.

The day started like any other. Kakyoin rushed through his apartment to shower and get ready for the morning. He drank an energy drink but didn’t eat anything because he had nothing in his fridge or pantry. He swore to himself that he was going to go grocery shopping soon but the promise to himself rang hollow in his head. He ran out the door as he usually did and just barely caught his train on time.

He noticed that something was wrong when he was on the train.

His morning train to work was always packed. It wasn’t unusual for him to be crammed against several strangers. However, usually, the trip was fairly quiet and uneventful.

I hope this train crashes so I don’t have to go to work today.

Kakyoin startled at the voice and looked around wildly. He couldn’t tell who said such a thing aloud but no one else seemed to react to the words. He didn’t have time to contemplate for long because a completely different voice rang through his head.

If I don’t get dicked down soon, I’m going to lose my fucking mind. Maybe I should text my ex.

Kakyoin coughed to himself. He looked around wildly and bumped into an older man.

There are lots of cute girls on this train today. The girl in the pink is exactly my type. Maybe I can make my way over there and cop a feel. She doesn’t seem like the type to fight back.

Kakyoin stared at the man with wide eyes. His eyes darted between the old pervert and the young girl wearing pink. She couldn’t have been older than middle school-aged.

The man’s mouth hadn’t been moving, but Kakyoin was certain that it was his words he was hearing in his head. When the old man started moving through the crowd towards the girl, Kakyoin knew he was right.

Kakyoin faked being pushed in the man's path, bumping into other strangers.

What the fuck! Asshole. Ugh! The different voices rattled around his brain, clearly displeased with Kakyoin bumping into them. The old man looked disgruntled and stopped trying to move towards the girl, but thankfully Kakyoin didn’t hear his disgusting thoughts anymore.

It hit Kakyoin then. He had been touching the old man when he heard his thoughts. Now that he was no longer touching him, he couldn’t hear him anymore. Instead, now his shoulder was brushing against a young woman who was thinking about eating an omelet for breakfast. Her thoughts of warm creamy rice, fluffy egg, and tangy sauce were enough to make Kakyoin hungry as well.

He could hear other people’s thoughts when he touched him.

Kakyoin’s mind raced as he got off the train. He tried to avoid other people’s touch the best that he could but sometimes he bumped into other people and heard mainly their anxieties about the work day ahead of them.

Kakyoin was trembling slightly. Was he losing his mind? Should he go to a doctor? Clearly, something was wrong with him.

Not sure of what exactly he could do, Kakyoin’s body was on autopilot. He found himself walking into work as if he were watching himself from outside his body. He flinched whenever someone stepped too close to him.

Maybe Polnareff was right. Maybe he had turned into a wizard. The only difference between today and the day before was that Kakyoin was now 30. The magical powers he had gained appeared to be reading minds.

Kakyoin took deep breaths as he walked into his building. He could read minds if he touched another person. Maybe that wouldn’t be so bad. Doesn’t everyone want to know what someone else is thinking from time to time? And it’s not like Kakyoin was touching a lot of people in the first place. That’s exactly the reason why he was in this situation anyway.

He calmed slightly as he waited by the elevator and convinced himself that everything would be fine. He was somewhat successful until the elevator doors opened to reveal the CEO’s grandson waiting in the back.

Kakyoin had seen Greek statues in real life at a few different art museums. He had always been fond of art and the statues were particularly stunning. His heart stammered in his throat as he took in the fine details carved into stone: fingers, muscles, and noses. He knew he was looking at greatness when he looked at them. He knew it by the way the sight of them took his breath away.

Looking at Jotaro Kujo in the elevator every morning was something like that.

Handsome didn’t even begin to describe the man. Women and men alike stared at the man as he passed by. However, like the Greek statues, Jotaro Kujo never seemed to care about much of anything or look anyone’s way. Kakyoin had never seen him smile before.

Kakyoin nodded at the man and warily stepped inside the doors. He was careful to keep his distance.

Kakyoin had heard many things about Jotaro Kujo. He’d even spoken to him once or twice. He always seemed to catch him in the elevator in the morning. They must have had the same start time. Despite this, they never spoke to each other as they rode up to Kakyoin’s floor, where he got off the elevator first. Jotaro was on the top floor, of course.

As the elevator doors closed, Kakyoin mused to himself. Jotaro Kujo’s thoughts would be very interesting to hear, mostly because his handsome face was so stony all the time. What was going on under that handsome facade? Did he have a nasty personality? Was he bored out of his mind? Was he aware of how women trembled with want in his presence?

Some small devious part of Kakyoin was dying to know more. Of course, he couldn’t just reach out and touch the man out of nowhere, but he quickly spotted an opportunity when the elevator doors opened on the next floor to let several people in.

Kakyoin stepped back into Jotaro’s space. His excuse for getting so close wasn’t entirely unfounded; several more people were getting on the elevator than usual. Kakyoin saw some lanyards around a few people’s necks and noted that there must be some kind of conference going on today.

Kakyoin held back a smile as his shoulder brushed against Jotaro Kujo’s chest.

Bedhead again today .

His voice was clear in Kakyoin’s head. It was alarming to hear the voice of someone he knew, even faintly. He didn’t pull away though.

It’s cute. Smells nice, too. I never get this close usually.

Kakyoin’s eyes darted around the elevator. Jotaro thinks someone has cute bedhead and smells nice! He must have a crush on someone in their office! Kakyoin’s eyes bounced between the girls to see who had bedhead but all of them seemed to be very well put together. As for who smelled nice, Kakyoin couldn’t say. The elevator was awash with different kinds of perfume.

I want to run my fingers through that hair. To caress it. To grab it. I wonder what it feels like. It looks soft. What would happen if I pulled on it?

Kakyoin felt his face heat slightly. Clearly, his thoughts were taking a horny turn. He was curious but he didn’t like feeling like a pervert, so he decided that he should step away.

Unfortunately, the elevator doors opened once again and several more people crowded into the already full elevator. Several bodies bumped into Kakyoin. He heard various disgruntled thoughts sound through his head as he fell backward into Jotaro.

He landed against the side of the elevator, barely catching his footing. Jotaro’s hand was on one of his arms, pulling him up so he didn’t fall to the ground. The other hand was on the elevator wall over Kakyoin’s shoulder. Jotaro’s tall body was a wall between Kakyoin and the rest of the elevator.

I’m touching him. His arm is smaller than I thought it would be. He’s so soft. I want to touch more of him. I like having him under me like this. His eyes look so big when he’s looking up at me. His face is turning pink. Is he embarrassed? He’s cute like this. I bet I could make him turn even more pink. How would he look splayed across my bed? That red hair over my pillow? Would I take him face down or face up first? Both are tempting. I want to look at his face as I pound him. I want to see my cock sinking into his-

Kakyoin coughed loudly into his fist as he stood up. He pulled Jotaro’s hand off of his arm as he stood.

“Thank you, Kujo-san!” His voice cracked when he spoke. His face felt like it was on fire.

Kakyoin’s heart was racing. He was panicking. Jotaro, on the other hand, had a completely straight face. He looked slightly bored even. He gave Kakyoin a nod.

Kakyoin plastered himself against the elevator wall to avoid touching him. He tried not to tremble but wasn’t sure if it was working.

Jotaro Kujo was having explicit sexual thoughts about Kakyoin! He found him cute! A man!

The CEO’s gorgeous grandson wanted to fuck Kakyoin; a hopeless, 30-year-old virgin!

Kakyoin raced out of the elevator as soon as he could, shoving his way through other people. He couldn’t even focus on their angry thoughts, as Jotaro’s voice still rang through his head.

Maybe Kakyoin was hallucinating? Maybe he really had lost it? There was no way that guy was thinking those things about Kakyoin of all people.

Jotaro Kujo had godly good looks. He was also 30, and certainly not a virgin. Kakyoin knew this for a fact, as it was well-known that the CEO’s grandson was divorced and had a young daughter. He had overheard a few female coworkers joke about being willing to be her stepmother if given the chance.

Kakyoin tugged at his hair. It didn’t sound like Jotaro was interested in that. He sounded much more interested in eating Kakyoin alive.

Kakyoin threw himself into his desk chair and moved several piles of files out of his way so that he could log into his computer and see how many emails had piled up in his inbox. The motions were familiar to him, almost comforting while he tried to get Jotaro’s sensual thoughts out of his head and willed himself into not popping a boner at them.

Someone slammed another stack of files on his desk next to him, and Kakyoin felt himself leap off his chair from shock.

“You’re late,” Dio sneered at him.

“Sorry! Sorry, hectic morning!” Kakyoin answered truthfully.

“I don’t care,” Dio said. “We have an important meeting in 30 minutes. The feeble old man who runs this shithole wants me to brief him on one of our clients, Yoshikage Kira. I want to get this meeting over with as soon as possible. I need you to come up with a report, now.”

Kakyoin blinked at his boss. “The CEO!?” He eventually responded.

Dio rolled his eyes at him. Despite being one of the quickest-thinking legal assistants in their department, Kakyoin never quite seemed up to Dio’s standards. “Get to work. We’re in the penthouse conference room at 8:30,” he said. Dio scrutinized Kakyoin for a moment. His eyes wandered over Kakyoin’s face. Kakyoin felt as if Dio was looking through him. His boss had a terrifying knack for making someone feel naked under his sharp gaze.

“You look like shit,” Dio eventually came up with.

“Thank you, sir,” Kakyoin answered. “I’ll get started on the Yoshikage Kira brief right away!”

It made Dio smirk a little before he turned and went back to his office. Kakyoin had a far-fetched theory that Dio actually kind of liked him from time to time.

He refused to try to touch him to confirm his theory. Kakyoin had learned his lesson on that. Who knew what kind of terrifying things were going on in Dio’s head? Kakyoin assumed he was plotting several murders at any given time.

Kakyoin dutifully worked on gathering files and creating a brief on Kira up until it was time for the meeting. He anxiously watched as emails came pouring in his inbox while he was too busy to keep up with them. Dio was not the kind of boss who understood that Kakyoin couldn’t do everything at once.

He scurried after Dio while carrying stacks of files. His walk was rushed while trying to keep up with Dio’s long confident strides. Everyone parted and stared at the man as he walked by. Some looked on in fear while others were clearly admiring Dio. Kakyoin had no idea how old Dio was but he could acknowledge that he was very handsome. It was too bad that his personality was so rotten as to completely cancel out his good looks.

When they got off the elevator, they immediately ducked into a big meeting room. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, there was a gorgeous view of the city skyline. The room itself had gorgeous antique furniture, a fully stocked bar cart, a coffee bar, and a gleaming mahogany table surrounded by state-of-the-art office chairs. The meeting room was reserved for only the highest level of executives at the company.

Three men already sat at the table. The most obvious man to grace their presence was the CEO, Mr. Joseph Joestar. He was a cheerful, older man who welcomed them warmly. Kakyoin had heard many nice things about him from everyone except Dio, although, Dio never had anything nice to say about anyone.

Next to Mr. Joestar was the COO, Muhammad Avdol. Kakyoin knew Avdol fairly well. He had spoken to him a handful of times, though they weren’t exactly close. Polnareff knew the man and had inexplicably charmed him. Avdol occasionally joined them for drinks on the rare event that neither he nor Kakyoin were too busy and were willing to put up with Polnareff’s shenanigans. It happened maybe once or twice a year.

And last, though certainly not least, Jotaro Kujo was at the table by his grandfather’s side. Kakyoin wasn’t sure if it was his imagination or not, but he swore he could feel the man’s eyes passing over him. Kakyoin refused to look directly at him. He stood extremely still as if he were facing some sort of predator who wouldn’t eat him if he played dead for long enough.

Dio warmly greeted the three men. Even though Dio was a master at putting on a facade for meetings, Kakyoin didn’t need to read minds to know that it was all an act. Dio hated all the executives at the SWF.

They all sat at the table after exchanging handshakes. Kakyoin was relieved that no one tried to shake his hand due to the stack of files carried in his arms. He was exhausted by other people’s thoughts, and he already got an earful of one of these men’s thoughts about him.

Kakyoin carefully placed the files on the table in front of Dio.

“Coffee?” Dio asked the men.

They glanced at each other. “Uh, sure,” Mr. Joestar replied.

“Kakyoin,” Dio commanded. He didn’t need to say more. Kakyoin had worked with Dio long enough to know when he was being ordered to do something. Kakyoin nodded and made his way to the coffee bar to pour some coffee. Mr. Joestar looked like he wanted to speak up and change his mind but he didn’t say anything. Avdol’s expression remained neutral but observant. Jotaro openly glared at Dio.

They promptly began their discussion of the client. Dio did almost all of the talking.

“I can’t say Kira’s particularly pleasant, or easy to work with, or even interesting to talk to. But I can say he’s our client,” Dio snarked. He slid a file across the table to Avdol, who effortlessly caught it, opened it, and scanned its contents. “Conditions have to be right when you’re meeting him or he won’t meet you halfway.”

“This says that the conference room windows must be cleaned from the outside before meeting with him?” Avdol asked.

“Oh, yes,” Dio nodded solemnly. “You’ll never get anything done if there are streaks on the windows. The conference room has to be cleaned, inside and out, or else he’ll throw a fit before the meeting even starts. Isn’t that right, Kakyoin?”

“Yes, sir,” Kakyoin said as he placed four freshly poured mugs full of coffee on a serving tray. He didn’t look up from his task as he spoke. “You have to mind your own appearance as well. He’ll notice immediately if you have even a single hair out of place.”

“Very true,” Dio said. He haughtily laughed before he spoke again. “He never has that problem with me, of course! It’s why I’ve been the one working with him for so long.”

Kakyoin carefully balanced the full tray as he made his way toward the table. He set the first mug in front of Dio, slightly off to the side. Dio’s inflated ego minded such simple things like who was served first. Dio didn’t spare him a glance as he moved.

Kakyoin made his way to Jotaro next. He was careful to keep his distance as he leaned over to set the coffee mug off to his side. Unfortunately for Kakyoin, however, Jotaro had other plans. He reached for the mug before Kakyoin could set it on the table. His fingers brushed against Kakyoin’s, causing a clear image to explode into his mind. It was the first time he was seeing visions instead of just hearing others' thoughts.

And what a vision it was.

Kakyoin was standing in a bright kitchen and holding a mug of coffee. The table was delicately set. He was wearing an apron. Only an apron. The edge of the pink, frilly garment brushed the tops of his thighs, barely keeping him modest.

“I made you breakfast, Jojo,” Kakyoin murmured as he set the coffee down on the table. “Are you hungry for pancakes? Or are you hungry for… something else?”

Jotaro was wearing nothing more than thin pajama pants. He smirked as he looked Kakyoin up and down. He confidently strode towards Kakyoin, grabbed him by the arm, bent him over the table, and-

Kakyoin gasped. The tray holding two mugs full of coffee fell from his grip and clattered to the table, splashing both him and Jotaro. The hot coffee sprayed all over his clothes, but Jotaro bore the brunt of the mess. The coffee seeped into his shirt and pants. Kakyoin prayed he hadn’t burned him.

Kakyoin jumped back and vigorously bowed in apology. At least he could blame his red face on being embarrassed about soaking Jotaro.

Were Jotaro’s washboard abs a part of his extremely vivid imagination, or were those real?

Kakyoin bowed deeper. “I apologize for my carelessness, Kujo-san.”

Jotaro seemed slightly dumbfounded after being drenched in coffee. He still held the mug he took from Kakyoin as he wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

“Ah, Jotaro, are you okay?” Mr. Joestar asked.

“I’m fine,” Jotaro answered. He appeared to be telling the truth. He just seemed confused more than anything.

“Is something wrong, Kakyoin?” Avdol asked. He had a look of concern in his eyes. “You look a little pale.”

Kakyoin opened his mouth to speak but Dio stood and spoke first. He wore a lighthearted smile. “Don’t mind Kakyoin. I promise his work is far better than his ability to serve some coffee.” Dio paused momentarily as he observed the coffee soaking into the carpet. “Although, I suppose that’s not saying much.”

Kakyoin winced at the barb. It was horrifying for Dio to rub salt in the wound in front of the CEO.

“Kakyoin will get this cleaned up and email a summary of this meeting. He’ll send you everything you need to know.” Dio patted Kakyoin on the shoulder, carefully choosing a dryer spot to touch. “Right, Kakyoin?”

Thank god this fucking meeting is over. Dio’s voice hissed in Kakyoin’s mind. It felt slimy as it slithered through his brain. I hope that coffee scalded Jotaro’s dick off. That would make my week. I doubt it, though. The coffee here is hardly warmer than piss. I’ll just have to settle with seeing the man look like an idiot.

Despite his harsh tone, Kakyoin got the sense that Dio was actually in a good mood. Kakyoin made a note to never touch the man again. He didn’t want to know what he was thinking when he wasn’t feeling so glib.

Kakyoin got back to work after the disastrous meeting. He had an extra shirt and pants, along with some toiletries that he kept at work. He put them in his drawer in case of emergencies after the first time he fell asleep at his desk late one night and didn’t have time to go home and change before the work day began the following morning.

He freshened up and sat at his desk for the next several hours, hardly looking away from his email.

Kakyoin swallowed his panic. He didn’t have time to be having a crisis. He had far too much work to get done.

He threw himself into his work so that he could avoid thinking about how Jotaro was able to think such shameless things while keeping such a serious, straight face.

The hours passed him by as he never seemed to get his email under control. Just as he’d complete one task, three more would come in. It was business as usual for Kakyoin.

Around the time Dio typically left for the day, he slapped a stack of files on Kakyoin’s desk.

“You were supposed to have this to me by the end of the day,” he said.

“Have what to you?” Kakyoin asked. Dio didn’t answer. He just gave him a disapproving look. Kakyoin glanced at the files. “Ah, the Tower of Gray reports. You told me that they needed to be done by next week.”

Dio raised an eyebrow and gave Kakyoin one of his sharpest, scariest smiles. There was a wild glint in his eyes. “Is that true, Kakyoin? I don’t remember saying that.”

Kakyoin folded like a house of cards. He shook his head. “I must have been mistaken! I’ll get to work on this right now!”

Dio nodded. “I need this done tonight. I don’t want to hear any excuses, especially when it should have already been done by now.”

Kakyoin nodded. He pushed aside his other work and pulled open the new files. He dug into them as everyone else trickled out of the office for the day. This was normal for Kakyoin. He was always one of the first to arrive and almost always the last to leave.

He tried to tell himself it wasn’t so bad. At least Dio wasn’t here breathing down his neck. And the emails certainly slowed down as well. It was for the best that he tried to get as much done as possible during his daily unpaid overtime. It was the only way for him to stay on top of his insurmountable workload.

He started to feel dizzy a little after the sun had gone down for the night. Kakyoin tried to blink the blurriness out of his eyes, but his vision didn’t quite go back to normal. The dull ache in his head was getting sharper by the minute.

Kakyoin tried to remember the last time he ate something, anything at all. Nothing came to mind.

He stood up from his desk and stumbled a little bit. If he was going to finish this report tonight, he obviously needed some kind of sustenance to get through it.

He made his way down to the lobby, where there were a variety of vending machines selling beverages and snacks. Kakyoin immediately picked out an energy drink while he tried to decide whether to get trail mix or a candy bar.

“Kakyoin,” a deep voice called out. Kakyoin nearly jumped out of his skin at the sound. He glanced to his left to see Jotaro Kujo wearing his coat and holding a briefcase, clearly heading out for the day.

“Kujo-san,” Kakyoin respectfully greeted him with a nod.

“You’re working late,” Jotaro said with an air of disapproval. He walked towards Kakyoin and looked him over.

Kakyoin shook his head. “Ah, I’m just wrapping up a project before I leave for the night so that it’s done by tomorrow morning! It’s technically my fault that I’m still here. I really should have done it earlier.”

Jotaro scrutinized him for several long seconds. He stared hard at Kakyoin’s face. “Did Dio put you up to this?”

“No! Well- kind of. Dio’s my boss, so it’s his job to tell me to do things. You know what I mean?”

Jotaro’s face remained stony despite Kakyoin’s lighthearted tone. Kakyoin had no idea what he was thinking when he couldn’t hear or see his thoughts. Was he having some weird sex fantasy at this very moment? Kakyoin pushed down the urge to shudder.

“Is he punishing you for the meeting today?” Jotaro asked. “Dio isn't above retaliation.”

“Hah!” Kakyoin laughed. “That’s very true, but this has nothing to do with that. I’m wrapping up a report for Tower of Gray, completely unrelated to Kira. In fact, I think Dio might have been happy to be able to get out of that meeting early,” Kakyoin winced as he remembered Dio’s delighted thoughts about Jotaro getting doused in hot coffee. “Sorry about that, by the way. Were you burnt?”

“I’m fine,” Jotaro answered. “I’ve worked on Tower of Gray before. I'm familiar with their documentation. How much work do you have left?”

“Not much!” Kakyoin lied. “I should be able to get it done in an hour or two.”

Jotaro pulled up his sleeve to glance at his watch. He frowned. “It’s late. I’ll help you wrap this up so you can get out of here sooner.”

Kakyoin gaped for a second before he vigorously shook his head. “No, no- I can’t ask you to do that Kujo-san!”

“You didn’t ask,” Jotaro stated. He began to briskly walk back towards the elevators. “How old are you?”

“I’m thirty,” Kakyoin answered as he scurried after the man.

“We’re the same age. Don’t call me Kujo-san.”

Kakyoin blinked at him as they stepped into the elevator. He briefly remembered the apron fantasy. Sex daydream Kakyoin had called the man Jojo before getting bent over. Kakyoin cleared his throat. “What am I supposed to call you, then?”

“Jotaro is fine,” he answered.

Oh, thank god, Kakyoin thought to himself.

“Well, Jotaro, I promise that I have things under control. I don’t need any more assistance.”

Jotaro glanced at the energy drink in his hands. “Do you always drink those things?”

“No,” Kakyoin lied as he hid it behind his back. He decided to stop getting Jotaro to go away. The man seemed dead set on whatever it was he intended to do.

Kakyoin led Jotaro to his disaster of a desk. He suddenly felt deeply embarrassed by the overflowing recycling bin and a barrage of sticky notes on his monitor. Jotaro didn’t seem to have much of a reaction, though Kakyoin did see his eyes trail over his workspace.

“I suppose you could help me with some of the more administrative work, you know, printing, filing, and sorting things.”

Jotaro set down his briefcase and took off his coat, slinging it over the chair of the neighboring desk. “Tell me what needs to be done,” he demanded.

Jotaro ended up being surprisingly helpful and diligent in his work. He was organized and paid attention to detail more than most. If Kakyoin was bad at explaining something, he never let on. If Kakyoin wasn’t so tired, he might be angry that someone so handsome was also so good at his job. It simply wasn’t fair.

Kakyoin had been careful to keep his distance as he worked but Jotaro had pulled up a chair and sat close to him. After a while, their ankles brushed against each other while Kakyoin passed Jotaro a stack of paperwork.

Kakyoin braced himself for a debauched mental image of himself but it never came.

He looks exhausted.

Jotaro’s thoughts were displeased.

He’s a hard worker. Diligent. Dio knows this, and he’s using it to take advantage of him.

Kakyoin blinked at Jotaro’s thoughts, not quite sure if he was hearing them correctly. Was Jotaro indignant on his behalf?

Those drinks are unhealthy. Is he drinking that on an empty stomach? I doubt he’s had dinner. He might not have even had lunch or breakfast. He’s too thin. Does he have anyone to take care of him?

Kakyoin put some distance between him and Jotaro. For some reason, these more tender thoughts about him were nearly as unbearable to listen to as the sexually explicit ones.

Kakyoin’s mind wandered as he worked. Jotaro wasn’t just the shallow douchebag nepotism grandchild that Dio made him out to be. He was intelligent, observant, and hardworking. He seemed to really care about Kakyoin working overtime. But why? Kakyoin wondered.

This day had been so confusing. The CEO's grandson may have been more than some pervert who had elaborate sex fantasies about Kakyoin. But Kakyoin still wasn’t sure what to make of him.

They finished the report in less than an hour. Kakyoin was truly impressed. It would have taken him far longer to complete it by himself.

“Are the trains still running?” Jotaro asked as Kakyoin set the neatly organized files on Dio’s desk for his review.

Kakyoin glanced at his watch and sighed. “No. I’ll have to call a cab.”

“I have a car,” Jotaro offered. “And my place is close to here. I have an extra futon you could use.”

Kakyoin tried to stutter out an excuse but his overworked and malnourished brain couldn’t come up with anything.

Jotaro slid his coat on and nodded at Kakyoin’s jacket hanging on the back of his chair. “It’s late. Let’s get out of here.”

Kakyoin found himself following Jotaro out of the building, trailing a few feet behind him. Jotaro was on the phone. He seemed to be ordering some food.

“There’s a Thai place next to my apartment building. We can grab it on our way up,” Jotaro explained after he finished his call.

They stepped outside and Kakyoin shivered at the frigid wind that blew right through his suit jacket.

Kakyoin stopped in his tracks and shook his head. “I’m really not that hungry! And I don’t want to inconvenience you any more than I already am!”

Jotaro turned around and raised an eyebrow at him. “It’s not an inconvenience.”

“Don’t tell me that you normally eat dinner at midnight. I know that’s not true! I’ll just crash on your couch for the night and stay out of your way!”

Jotaro looked Kakyoin up and down. Kakyoin shivered. He wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or his stare.

Jotaro unwound his scarf from his neck. He stepped towards Kakyoin. He settled the scarf around Kakyoin’s shoulders. It was warm and soft. It felt expensive. It smelled like nice cologne, something vaguely coastal.

He’s freezing. Who knows when was the last time he ate something substantial. He’s more than competent but he clearly doesn’t take care of himself.

Jotaro’s thoughts paused for a second.

I could take care of him.

Jotaro stepped back, releasing Kakyoin from the agony that was listening to his thoughts about himself.

“Let’s go. I have beer,” he said abruptly before turning around and walking towards the parking garage.

Kakyoin had nothing to say in response to the man. He could only follow him. He had to walk at a brisk pace to keep up with his long stride.

Jotaro’s car was expensive and new. Kakyoin was grateful he knew almost nothing about cars so he couldn’t know exactly how expensive it was. He was sure the price would make him lightheaded.

The workers at the Thai restaurant greeted Jotaro warmly. When Kakyoin saw how much he tipped them, he understood why they adored the man.

The doorman to Jotaro’s apartment building eagerly greeted him as they stepped inside. Kakyoin looked around the luxe lobby with wide eyes. He didn’t doubt that Jotaro would live somewhere nice but it was another thing being in such a luxury building.

The elevator whisked them to one of the higher floors. Jotaro remained silent, not seeming to be in the mood for conversation at the moment. Kakyoin was relieved that he stayed put on the other side of the elevator. Was it only this morning that Kakyoin had gotten quite the insight into Jotaro’s mind in the crowded elevator at work? Kakyoin tried to shake the thoughts out of his mind.

Jotaro led him into his apartment. Kakyoin looked over the apartment with awe.

It was sleek and well-decorated. The decor looked professionally done, though Kakyoin didn’t doubt for a moment that Jotaro had good taste. There were large windows that showed stunning city skyline views. The apartment was spotless and felt fresh and clean as opposed to Kakyoin’s apartment which always felt a little stale.

Kakyoin walked into the living room area after he took off his shoes and jacket. “Your place looks like it came straight out of a magazine!” Kakyoin remarked. “It’s nice! Well- not just nice, that doesn’t really do it justice. It’s nicer than nice!”

Jotaro cracked open two cans of beer he pulled from the fridge and set them on the coffee table. Kakyoin sat at the table as Jotaro pulled out the Thai food. He passed Kakyoin a container of curry and a plastic set of utensils.

Before Kakyoin could thank him for the food, his leg brushed something. He picked up a small book from the floor and looked it over.

“Pink Dark Boy? Is this yours?”

Jotaro reached for the book. “I’ve been reading it.”

Kakyoin found himself incredibly intrigued. Does the CEO's perfect grandson really read shounen manga in his spare time?

“Do you like it so far? This is one of my favorite volumes of the whole series!”

Jotaro nodded. “I started it the other day. I haven’t been able to put it down.”

Kakyoin was delighted. He grilled Jotaro on all the shounen manga he’d read while he ate and drank. He felt himself relax, his eyelids drooping as they spoke.

After a while, Jotaro stood. “You should take a bath. I’ll get you some pajamas and set up the futon.”

Kakyoin felt his cheeks heat. He hadn’t forgotten Jotaro’s perverted thoughts about him. Being naked in his apartment felt dangerous.

He packed away the food and put it in the fridge while Jotaro disappeared to start the bath. He came back with an old T-shirt and sweatpants.

“For you. The bath is started. There are extra towels in the closet. Let me know if you need anything.”

Kakyoin nodded as he took the clothes from Jotaro. Their fingers brushed against each other.

Kakyoin wore Jotaro’s t-shirt and sweatpants. They were much too large on him. His porcelain collar bones were revealed as the old shirt’s collar drooped far too low. Kakyoin blinked up at Jotaro.

“Thank you for lending me your clothes Jojo,” he graciously thanked him. He had a demure look on his face as he batted his lashes. “They’re so soft, but I was wondering if you could do something else for me.”

“What is it?” Jotaro asked.

Kakyoin lightly clutched the hem of the T-shirt. “Can you take these clothes off of me?”

Kakyoin cleared his throat as he tried to shake the horrifically cheesy and horny scene out of his mind. He was sure what he was more embarrassed by; Jotaro’s corny fantasies, or the fact that Kakyoin starred in them.

He took the clothes with a quick thank you and hurried off into the bath. He triple-checked to make sure that the door was locked before he got in.

The bath itself was wonderful. Jotaro had an amazingly deep tub, probably so that the tall man could fit. All his soaps were high-end and smelled luxurious. Kakyoin found himself relaxing fairly easily.

When he dried off and slipped into the borrowed clothes, he was horrified to glance into the mirror and see that Jotaro’s vision of how he would look wasn’t too terribly far off. While he wasn’t nearly as sly and shiny looking, his collar bones showed and his face was still flushed from the hot bath. Kakyoin shook his head and slapped his cheeks before he stepped out of the bathroom.

Jotaro was finishing setting up the futon for him on the living room floor.

Kakyoin managed to avoid touching him as they said their goodnights. He crawled into the futon and marveled at how it was softer than his bed. Jotaro left him to go to his bed.

While he had a lot to think about, Kakyoin felt his eyelids grow heavy with sleep. It had been a long day, and Kakyoin had been through a lot. As he drifted off, he half hoped that he’d wake up in his own bed, and that the entire day had been one weird dream.

When he woke up to the smell of breakfast, he knew his delirious hopes had not come true. He was not in his bed. He was in the apartment of a man who wanted to bend him over and fuck him.

Jotaro set up breakfast on the table. It looked delicious and it tasted even better. Kakyoin could have cried at the first bite of the omelet he took.

“Jojo, this is amazing!” He cried. “When did you learn to cook like this?”

Jotaro was silent, so Kakyoin tore his eyes away from the food to look at the man. He looked slightly bewildered.

“What?” Kakyoin asked.

“Only my mom calls me that,” he replied.

Kakyoin gasped. He had unthinkingly repeated the nickname from the man’s sex daydreams.

Kakyoin felt his cheeks heat. “I’m so sorry! I completely overstepped.”

“It’s okay,” Jotaro said. He was completely nonchalant. “You can call me that if you want.”

Kakyoin sighed. Crisis averted.

They continued to eat breakfast in comfortable silence. Kakyoin ate a big mouthful of rice and moaned in pleasure at the taste.

Jotaro reached across the table for the pepper. Kakyoin quickly picked it up to pass it to him. When their fingers brushed together, he heard his moan echo in Jotaro’s thoughts.

“Jojo,” Kakyoin moaned. He was lying in bed looking up at Jotaro. His skin was bare and flushed pink. “Jojo, please!” He whined. “Jojo, I need you!”

Kakyoin pulled away and cleared his throat. He quickly downed his glass of water. He was careful to not make any more pleased noises when eating the rest of his breakfast, no matter how good it was. He didn’t want to excite Jotaro or his active imagination any further.

“You could come here for breakfast,” Jotaro offered towards the end of their meal. “You could stop by on your way to work.”

Kakyoin quickly shook his head. “No!” He said. “That’s very nice of you but I’d hate to inconvenience you any more than I already have.”

Jotaro seemed like he wanted to argue but he didn’t.

They got ready for work and got in Jotaro’s car. Jotaro drove them to the office. Kakyoin had to admit that it was much nicer than taking the stuffy train to work every day.

They took the elevator together like they usually did. Kakyoin nodded and waved at Jotaro as he got off on his floor. Jotaro nodded back. His expression remained serious but his eyes had a gleam of pleasure in them.

Kakyoin thought about how likable Jotaro was as a person when he wasn’t hearing his lustful thoughts.

Kakyoin settled into his desk and got to work like usual. He felt pretty good about the progress he had made the night before with Jotaro’s help. Even Dio seemed begrudgingly satisfied with his work.

He was completely absorbed in his work until around noon when a shadow eclipsed him. He looked up to see who was hovering over him.

“Jojo!” He yelped in surprise. “I mean- Kujo-san! What are you doing here? Do you have a meeting with someone in legal?” Kakyoin quickly clicked on his calendar and hovered over the many calls and meetings he had in his schedule for the day between him and Dio.

“I do,” Jotaro said. “Are you a notary?”

Baffled, Kakyoin blinked at him. “Yes,” he answered.

“Good,” Jotaro replied.

“Jotaro!” Dio called from his office. He stood and leaned against the entryway, crossing his arms. “To what do we owe the pleasure!?” Judging from his tone, Kakyoin could tell that it was anything but a pleasure for Dio.

“I need to borrow him,” Jotaro said while motioning at Kakyoin. “I have some paperwork that I need to be signed off on every day. It’s been piling up and I need someone from legal to take care of it. I just need one hour a day.”

Dio flashed a bright grin at him. If Kakyoin didn’t know any better, he would have thought it was a friendly smile. But Kakyoin did know better. His boss only grinned like that when he was very, very angry.

“Kakyoin is one of my most valuable employees. I can hardly spare him for a few minutes, let alone an hour. Certainly, you have other people who can do it for you.”

“None who can do as good a job as him,” Jotaro said.

“Is this some kind of revenge for the whole coffee incident?” Dio asked. He narrowed his eyes at Jotaro. “Poor Kakyoin doesn’t deserve to be punished for one measly mistake. I didn’t take this company as one that participated in workplace retaliation.”

Kakyoin held back a snort. Dio was workplace retaliation personified. His pretend concern was almost laughable.

“Of course not,” Jotaro answered. “If anything, it’ll help him gain experience with the C-Suite.”

“He’s a paralegal, not an executive assistant,” Dio argued.

“Which is why I only need him for one hour a day,” Jotaro shot back. They had gained a small crowd of people watching their exchange. Dio’s eye twitched a little.

“Fine!” He exclaimed. “Run along, Kakyoin! Go help our CEO’s grandson figure out how to rotate a PDF! Just make sure to make up the work you missed when you get back,” Dio ordered. His tone was threatening. He was going to be in an awful mood when Kakyoin came back. He would certainly pay for this.

Kakyoin nodded and scurried away after Jotaro who took long confident steps. He didn’t seem concerned by Dio’s barbs at his intelligence. In fact, Jotaro looked rather pleased with himself.

They rode the elevator to the top floor. Kakyoin had never been above his own floor before. When the elevator opened, he tried not to look too in awe of the large executive suites. They passed Avdol in the hallway, who gave them a friendly, albeit confused greeting.

Jotaro led Kakyoin to his office and motioned that he sit in the chair in front of his desk. He sat behind the desk in his own chair.

The desk was big, neat, and clean. There were no papers to be found. It was the opposite of Kakyoin’s desk.

“Where is the paperwork?” Kakyoin asked.

“There is no paperwork,” Jotaro said.

“What?!” Kakyoin asked. “What do you mean!? But you said-“

“I have people that do that for me,” Jotaro interrupted. He said it as if it should have been obvious. Kakyoin felt like he was having a stroke.

There was a knock on the door behind him. Kakyoin turned to see a pretty assistant there. “Your lunch is here, sir,” she said. She brought in a brown paper bag of food and set it on his desk. Jotaro nodded in thanks.

He pulled out the contents of the bag: grilled chicken, salad, fries, drinks, and silverware. The food didn’t even appear to be fast food of any kind. It seemed more in line with catering than anything.

Jotaro passed him a bottle of water and silverware. Kakyoin hesitantly accepted it. “What?” He asked.

“We’re having lunch,” Jotaro said.

“We?” Kakyoin asked.

“Yes,” he answered. “You should be able to take a lunch break, even if Dio doesn’t want you to.”

Kakyoin sighed. “This is very kind of you, but I promise that I can handle myself just fine. Dio is not keeping me from taking my lunch break.”

“Did you eat lunch yesterday?”

“Well, no,” Kakyoin stammered.

“What about the day before?”

“I have a perfectly good reason for-“

“Eat,” Jotaro ordered while sliding a plastic container towards him.

Kakyoin sighed and gave in. He mumbled a thank you for the food as he dug in.

They talked as they ate. Their conversation was like the night before, much smoother than Kakyoin would have expected. Jotaro was genuinely curious about Kakyoin’s day and his work. Kakyoin was equally curious about what Jotaro got up to during the day when he wasn’t kidnapping paralegals and buying them lunch.

Kakyoin curiously looked around his office. He stared at the picture of a little girl on his desk.

“Is that your daughter?” He asked while pointing at the frame.

“Yes,” Jotaro grabbed the frame and passed it to Kakyoin.

“Wow!” Kakyoin exclaimed. “She looks just like you! How old is she?”

“She’s nine,” Jotaro said.

“Wow,” Kakyoin repeated again. It stunned him that other people his age had children well on their way into adolescence, while Kakyoin had neglected to have any kind of meaningful romantic relationship at all. It made him feel so far behind. He felt so immature next to someone like Jotaro. “Does she act like you as much as she looks like you?”

Jotaro frowned and leaned back in his chair. “Yes,” he said. “She’s stubborn as a mule.”

Kakyoin giggled. “Good,” he said.

“Good?”

“It’s good that she takes after you.”

Jotaro sighed. “She’d be better off being more like her mother.”

“You’re a kind person,” Kakyoin said. “It's a good thing for her to be, too. It must be really special having a kid who takes after you.”

Jotaro seemed slightly taken aback by Kakyoin’s words. Kakyoin passed the frame back to him. Their fingers brushed together.

“Jojo, don’t you think we should try for a baby?” Kakyoin giggled as he cuddled against him in bed.

“I don’t think we’d have much luck,” Jotaro huskily whispered against Kakyoin’s tousled hair.

“Well, we could always try and see,” Kakyoin whispered back with a mischievous look in his eyes. “Can you imagine it? A baby that’s a perfect mix between me and you. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”

Kakyoin caressed Jotaro’s bare chest. “Well, it wouldn’t hurt to try,” Jotaro huffed as he rolled them over.

“Cum in me, Jojo,” Kakyoin moaned. “Please, Jojo, cum inside me-“

“Ah!” Kakyoin yelped as he stood from his seat.

Jotaro startled a bit at the loud noise he made. Kakyoin tried not to flush but he knew he was failing.

“What’s wrong?” Jotaro asked.

“Ah!” Kakyoin repeated a little quieter this time. “Ah, it’s almost time for me to head back to my desk! Thank you for the lunch, Jojo!”

Jotaro nodded at him and Kakyoin gave him a quick bow in thanks. He then nearly ran out of his office to get back to the elevator.

He was thankful that he had the elevator all to himself when he rode back down to his floor. He banged his head against the elevator wall as he begged himself to calm down.

But how could he be calm when the CEO’s grandson wanted to get him pregnant?!

How could he be calm when the thought actually made him a bit hard?

Kakyoin banged his head against the wall a little harder. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

He struggled to focus the rest of the day. Dio piled extra work on him as vengeance for him leaving even though it wasn’t Kakyoin’s fault. He worked late into the night. He was half expecting Jotaro to look over his desk again but he didn’t show up this time. He was half-relieved and half-dismayed at his absence. Then he was very dismayed at his own dismay.

He went home alone, exhausted, and hungry. He tried not to think about how content he had been the night before when he had someone to talk to and eat with at the end of the day. He tried not to think about Jotaro’s thoughts of cuddling in bed together and how detailed and nice it felt. He tried not to think about Jotaro in general but he failed. He thought about him a lot and barely got any sleep.

As the days went by, they started to form a routine. They’d always see each other in the elevator in the morning. Jotaro’s thoughts were a little more pure in the morning. They typically consisted of wondering if Kakyoin got enough sleep, if he ate breakfast, or took a bath. Thinking about the bath was often a slippery slope, though.

Then they would see each other at lunch. Sometimes Dio would try to refuse to let Kakyoin leave, often resorting to scheduling important meetings during his scheduled time with Jotaro. Jotaro, however, always managed to figure out what Dio was up to and get his way, either by saying he had an even more important meeting scheduled or by swinging by his office to argue with Dio himself.

Regardless, they had lunch together every day. Jotaro would push a full and balanced meal towards Kakyoin and ask him about his day. Kakyoin had grown very fond of their lunches together. Again, his thoughts were usually pure during lunch. He was curious about Kakyoin and how he was doing. He admired Kakyoin’s hardworking nature. It made Kakyoin feel glowy whenever he caught such a nice thought from Jotaro.

A couple of times a week, Jotaro would swing by his desk in the late evening and bully him into leaving his work for the night and getting dinner. Usually, they would get take out and eat at Jotaro’s place but sometimes they would go out and eat at a restaurant if there were any still open.

These moments were when Jotaro’s thoughts were the dirtiest. After a couple of beers and a good meal, Jotaro’s head was usually in the gutter. Outwardly, he was calm and relaxed. He never tried to make a move on Kakyoin. He was as much of a gentleman as he always was. In his head, however, he was usually thinking of all the different ways he could blow Kakyoin’s back out. It was deeply perplexing to Kakyoin.

As the weeks passed, Kakyoin couldn’t help but realize how much he enjoyed being around Jotaro. He missed him on the nights they didn’t see each other. He missed him on the weekends. He wanted to have lunch with him every day, not just the weekdays. He wanted breakfast and dinner with him, too. Jotaro actually made him look forward to going to work.

Sometimes, Jotaro’s thoughts about Kakyoin would be much more tame, if not equally blush-inducing. Jotaro would imagine holding Kakyoin’s hand, wrapping an arm around his waist, or softly kissing him on the lips. Sometimes he would think about them cuddling while watching a movie or going out on a date.

These thoughts haunted Kakyoin the most. The sexual scenarios were easy to dismiss as outlandish fantasies. Holding hands and cuddling was much more Kakyoin’s speed. That was something he could do. It was something that part of him had yearned for. He hadn’t imagined it being with Jotaro but now he couldn’t picture it being with anyone else.

And what wasn’t there to like about Jotaro?

He was kind to Kakyoin. He was extremely handsome. He stood up for Kakyoin against Dio. He respected his work. He wanted to take care of him. He was obviously sexually attracted to Kakyoin.

So why couldn’t Kakyoin just embrace it?

Well, Kakyoin had never been in a relationship before. He didn’t quite know what to do.

He could ask Jotaro to get dinner, but that was already something they did together. Maybe he could try to make a move on Jotaro? He shuddered when he thought of a recent daydream Jotaro had involving bending Kakyoin over his desk. Maybe Kakyoin should avoid doing anything suggestive at work.

He agonized at his desk late one evening over his maybe feelings for Jotaro when a familiar shadow loomed over his desk.

He glanced away from his computer. “Ah, Jojo-“ he abruptly stopped when he saw the face staring down at him. “Polnareff?”

“Expecting someone else?” Polnareff asked. “Who else would be in this office as late as you?! Let’s call it a day and go get a drink!”

Kakyoin did not want to hang out with Polnareff. He could hardly imagine the kinds of things that must go through the man’s head, and he did not want to find out.

“No way!” Kakyoin answered. “I’m busy tonight.”

“You’re busy every night!” Polnareff whined. “C'mon, I invited Avdol! We’ll have a mixer!”

“No,” Kakyoin insisted.

“You are so antisocial!” Polnareff complained. He pulled Kakyoin up out of his chair and began to give him a noogie. Kakyoin squirmed in his arms and whined at the contact.

He’s been working far too much. He needs to get out of this office and be around people. When was the last time he got fresh air? When was the last time he socialized? He worries me.

Polnareff’s thoughts caught Kakyoin off guard. They were so caring and profound. He sounded like an older brother.

“Polnareff-“

He dug his knuckles harder into Kakyoin’s scalp. “This is why you’re still a virgin! You’re never going to get laid if you don’t get out and meet people!”

Kakyoin shoved Polnareff off of himself and stumbled a few steps backward. He ran into what felt like a solid wall behind him.

Is he really a virgin?

The familiar voice made him turn around. He didn’t run into a wall. He ran into Jotaro Kujo. A very perplexed Jotaro Kujo.

Who is this man and why is he so familiar with Kakyoin?

Jotaro’s thoughts bounced back and forth between indignation at Polnareff and awe at Kakyoin’s virginity. Kakyoin wasn’t sure he had ever heard Jotaro’s thoughts race this much. He stepped away from Jotaro and apologized for bumping into him.

“Ah, I’d thought you’d be here. I ran into Jotaro on my way down here and it turns out he was also planning on swinging by Kakyoin’s desk,” Avdol pitched in from behind Jotaro. He nodded at Kakyoin after greeting Polnareff. “I thought we could kill two birds with one stone and all go out for drinks together.”

“Huh?” Polnareff asked. He threw an arm over Kakyoin’s shoulders. “Since when are you chummy with the CEO’s grandson?”

Don’t tell me some other scumbag is trying to take advantage of Kakyoin. At least I know that Dio only uses him for work reasons. What the hell could this guy possibly want? Avdol thinks he’s decent enough but how can we know for sure?

Kakyoin was once again stunned by Polnareff’s thoughts. Was Polnareff always this protective of him? If so, why did he act like a dumbass 90% of the time instead of actually communicating the thoughts running through his head?

Kakyoin scratched at his head. “Kujo-san and I struck up a friendship after I spilled coffee all over his lap in a meeting.”

Polnareff’s eyes narrowed at Jotaro. He stuck out a hand to Jotaro to shake. “Nice to meet you, Kujo-san.”

Jotaro firmly returned the handshake. “Jotaro,” he insisted.

Polnareff smiled at him cordially, however, his thoughts remained deeply suspicious.

“Kujo-san, you really don’t have to come if you don’t want to,” Kakyoin insisted while ducking out from under Polnareff’s arm. Contrary to Kakyoin’s prior belief, the man never seemed to stop thinking. It was rather distracting. “Polnareff and Avdol can drink more than anyone else I know. There’s no keeping up with them.”

Both of the men cheerfully laughed in response.

Jotaro’s eyes softened a little at Kakyoin. They walked towards the elevator with Avdol and Polnareff trailing behind them. “I want to go,” Jotaro said.

Their shoulders, elbows, and hands brushed together as they walked side by side.

Why did he call me Kujo-san instead of Jojo? Why is that Frenchman being so touchy with him? Why does Avdol know about all of this? Why did that man say he was a virgin? Is it true? Why would he know that? And why can’t he keep his hands off of Kakyoin?

His thoughts were imbued with confusion and anger. It surprised Kakyoin to hear Jotaro think this way. He only ever got angry when he was thinking about Dio, which was entirely justified. There was no reason for Jotaro to be angry with Polnareff.

“Jojo,” Kakyoin murmured in the elevator if only to ease Jotaro’s mind a bit. “Are you sure you want to go drinking with them?”

“I want to go drinking with you,” Jotaro answered.

Kakyoin nervously laughed in response. “I’m no fun to drink with.”

“Sure you are!” Polnareff butted into their conversation. “It’s funny how pink you get after only 3 drinks.”

“Fuck off!” Kakyoin replied. Polnareff giggled in response.

They walked to a nearby bar that Polnareff liked. He and Avdol led the way while they talked amongst themselves about anything and everything. Kakyoin and Jotaro followed without speaking.

They quickly sat down at a table and ordered drinks. Jotaro opened a tab for them all even though Kakyoin tried to talk him out of it.

Everything was cordial until after a couple of drinks, Polnareff leaned towards Kakyoin and gestured towards the bar.

“Look at that girl. She’s reading a book at the bar! She seems like she’s your type!”

“I don’t have a type,” Kakyoin hissed at him.

Polnareff waved at him dismissively. “Sure you do, you just don’t know it yet. You should go over there and talk to her.”

“Absolutely not,” Kakyoin answered. “She looks like she doesn’t want to be disturbed. She’s reading.”

“She’s at a bar!” Polnareff argued. “It’s a place where people talk. Of course, she wants to be disturbed! Look, I’ll go help you!”

“No! I don’t know her, and I don’t want to talk to her,” Kakyoin insisted.

Polnareff rolled his eyes. “That’s when you introduce yourself! You’ll be a virgin forever if you can’t figure out how to talk to girls!”

Kakyoin put his face in his hands, trying to hide his embarrassment. “Polnareff!” He hissed.

“Okay, what if I go talk to her, then I introduce-“

“He said he doesn’t want to,“ Jotaro interjected. He leveled a scathing glare at Polnareff.

Polnareff raised his hands defensively. “I know Kakyoin very well. He’s too shy for his own good. I’m just trying to offer him some encouragement!”

“It’s not needed,” Jotaro answered. “Or wanted.”

Avdol stood from his seat and moved to stand behind Kakyoin and Polnareff. He laid a hand on each shoulder. “Forgive them both, Jotaro,” he said. “They tend to bicker like siblings. Nothing more than that. It can be strange to hear when you’re not used to it.”

Avdol’s thoughts rang through Kakyoin’s head. He tried to hide his reaction behind his glass.

Oh my god, Jotaro is completely smitten by Kakyoin. And he looks about ready to strangle Polnareff. And Polnareff looks ready to fight him back.

Yes! Kakyoin felt validated by Avdol’s thoughts. At least there was someone here with some sense!

Does Polnareff have some kind of feelings for Kakyoin? He told me that they were just like siblings. He is awfully clingy and protective of him. But he would have told me if they had some kind of history, right? We’ve only been hooking up for a year or so, but-

Kakyoin began to choke on his drink. He pulled away from Avdol’s hand so that he could choke and die in peace.

“Are you okay?” Jotaro asked.

“I’m fine,” Kakyoin eventually wheezed. He pretended to check his watch. “I think I better go home now,” he said.

Jotaro stood. “I’ll walk with you.”

Kakyoin nodded, resigned.

They waved goodbye to Polnareff and Avdol who both looked vaguely suspicious of them for different reasons.

Kakyoin shook his head as they left. “I don’t think I like bars,” he stated.

“Neither do I,” Jotaro agreed.

“Good. Let’s never do that again,” Kakyoin said. Jotaro nodded.

“Do you want to stay the night at my place?” Jotaro asked.

Kakyoin felt like he should say no but he had gotten so comfortable at Jotaro’s fancy sky-rise apartment. He had grown particularly fond of his tub. “Can I take a bath?” He asked.

“Of course,” Jotaro quickly answered.

“Then, yes,” Kakyoin laughed.

“Good,” Jotaro said.

They walked in a comfortable silence for a while. Surprisingly enough, it was Jotaro who broke the silence first.

“He seems pushy,” he said.

“Polnareff can be pushy at times. He was in full form tonight, though,” Kakyoin said.

Jotaro seemed to think over his words. “I didn’t like how he talked about you,” he eventually said. “It was rude.”

“Oh,” Kakyoin blushed. He stopped walking and put his hands over his face to hide. “You mean the virgin stuff.”

Jotaro stopped and turned to face him. “Yeah,” he said.

“I-“ Kakyoin cleared his throat. “Well, he only says that because- I’m not sure how he knows because I definitely didn’t tell him but-“

Jotaro gently pulled Kakyoin’s hands off of his face. He didn’t say a word but he held onto Kakyoin’s hands, so he didn’t need to.

He’s blushing. He’s blushing, and he’s a virgin. He’s a virgin who’s blushing.

Kakyoin let out a deep sigh. His thoughts seemed to be glitching out at the moment.

“I have no romantic experience,” Kakyoin delicately explained. “I don’t have the faintest idea of how to be in a relationship. It’s something I’m really embarrassed about. I’m 30 now, I should have this figured out by now.”

“Don’t be embarrassed,” Jotaro said. He paused as he considered what to say. “Someone will be happy to share all your firsts with you one day.”

Me. I want all of Kakyoin’s firsts. His first time holding hands, his first kiss, his first date. I want to make love to him. I want all of his firsts. I want all of him.

Kakyoin sighed. “That’s kind of you to say, Jojo. I’m still going to be embarrassed about it, though.”

Jotaro pulled him along by the arm towards his apartment building. “Fine.”

Kakyoin sighed as he listened to Jotaro’s now excited thoughts about how he would gently take Kakyoin’s virginity. While it was a lot to witness, Kakyoin did sort of find it sweet.

Jotaro really, really liked him. He didn’t care that he was a 30-year-old virgin. Nothing Kakyoin did seemed to put him off. Jotaro’s unconditional crush was something that Kakyoin could appreciate once he stopped thinking about the sex fantasies so much. He fought to keep down the smile that was trying to break through.

Kakyoin sneezed on the elevator on the way up to Jotaro’s apartment. Then, he sneezed again.

“Are you catching a cold?” Jotaro asked.

Kakyoin vehemently shook his head.

Jotaro put his hand on Kakyoin’s forehead, then gently rested it against his cheek. Kakyoin couldn’t help but lean into his big, cool hand. It felt good on his skin.

He is a little warm and flushed, but he did have a couple of drinks earlier. It’s hard to tell if he’s coming down with something.

“I’m just a lightweight. I’m not getting sick,” Kakyoin explained.

Jotaro removed his hand from his forehead. “I’ll start the bath immediately.”

Kakyoin could hardly argue with that.

The rest of the evening was comfortable. They had developed a routine since Kakyoin started staying over. Usually, they ate dinner and talked. Sometimes they’d watch a movie or a show while they ate. Then, Kakyoin would take a bath while Jotaro set up the futon. Once Kakyoin was tucked into the soft futon, Jotaro would say good night and go to his own room.

On this night, they watched a show while they waited for the bath to be ready. Kakyoin’s eyes drooped as he tried to focus on the TV. He felt warm and exhausted. He leaned against Jotaro as he started to drift off.

I need to take things slow with him. I couldn’t stand it if I scared him away by being too forward. He needs time and care. I can do that.

Kakyoin tried not to giggle at Jotaro’s thoughts. When did he become so sweet?

Kakyoin drifted off to sleep against Jotaro’s shoulder. Jotaro tried to wake him up to take his bath but he refused.

Kakyoin woke up the next morning with a stuffy nose, sore throat, and horrible brain fog.

“I need to go to work,” Kakyoin groaned. “I’m going to fall behind.”

“No,” Jotaro insisted. “It’s Friday. Today barely even matters.”

“Every second matters when Dio is your boss,” Kakyoin whined. “He’s already been so pissed at me.”

Kakyoin tried to get out of bed but Jotaro pushed him back down. The man had already managed to drag Kakyoin out of the futon and into his bedroom. He thought that Jotaro would have perverted thoughts about Kakyoin being in his bed but his mind was elsewhere.

He looks ready to keel over, and he’s still worried about Dio.

He sounded incredibly frustrated. Kakyoin couldn’t blame him. Dio was the biggest source of frustration in his own life. He just felt bad that Jotaro had to deal with him so much now, too.

Kakyoin fell limp in bed. He conceded that he felt awful and probably wouldn’t get much work done today anyway. He still felt guilty but his exhaustion was outweighing the guilt for the moment.

“What about you? You’re going to be late,” Kakyoin stated.

Jotaro shook his head. “I’m taking today off.”

Kakyoin let out a sad sigh. “I’m probably just going to sleep all day,” he said, knowing it wouldn’t convince Jotaro of anything.

“I’ll get you some food and medicine,” Jotaro replied. He pressed his hand to Kakyoin’s forehead and cheeks as he did the night before. His touch felt nice and cool. “You have a fever. I don’t want you to be alone.”

Jotaro’s thoughts were running through a list of things to do for sick people. Kakyoin even got a glimpse or two of his memories of being sick as a kid and his mother taking care of him.

Jotaro stood. “I’ll go to the store. Don’t you dare get up,” he threatened.

Kakyoin weakly smiled at him as he pulled the covers to his chin. “Thank you, Jojo,” he murmured.

Jotaro paused for a moment, just staring at him. Kakyoin wished they were touching so he could know what the man was thinking. Instead, he could only guess what was going on behind the cool, blank expression Jotaro usually wore.

“I’ll be back soon,” he eventually said before ducking out of the room.

Kakyoin shifted in the sheets. He was somewhat glad that he couldn’t smell. He was certain that the bed probably smelled like Jotaro.

Kakyoin drifted off to sleep soon after.

He dozed on and off throughout the day. Jotaro occasionally woke him up to give him medicine or soup.

Kakyoin started to feel better in the evening. He was finally able to take the bath that he wanted the night before. Jotaro insisted on drying his hair for him once he got dressed. Kakyoin let him do it.

It was all very domestic. Kakyoin felt right at home with Jotaro, and Jotaro seemed very happy to take care of him. They sat together on the couch after Kakyoin’s bath and ate soup that Jotaro made for him. Kakyoin sat with his legs crossed so that his knee was touching Jotaro’s outer thigh. Kakyoin could feel Jotaro’s contentment thrumming through the touch.

“Where did you learn how to make this soup?” Kakyoin asked, already knowing the answer from Jotaro’s thoughts.

“My mom,” Jotaro answered.

“It’s delicious,” Kakyoin said for probably the tenth time.

“She can make it better,” Jotaro answered.

She’ll like him. He’s polite, handsome, and Japanese. She’ll be all over him. I might have to fight her to keep him to myself.

Kakyoin was a bit startled by this thought. They weren’t even dating, and Jotaro was already thinking about how his mother and Kakyoin would get along.

“Have you met my grandfather?” Jotaro asked, surprising Kakyoin out of his thoughts.

“The CEO? Not really,” Kakyoin answered. “The closest I got was when I spilled coffee on you in that meeting.” Kakyoin winced. “Probably not the best first impression.”

Kakyoin had since learned from Jotaro’s thoughts that he was thankful for the moment that Kakyoin spilled coffee on him because it gave him an excuse to talk to him more. While Kakyoin understood the sentiment and found it touching, thinking about the moment itself still made him cringe with embarrassment.

“He’s probably already forgotten,” Jotaro said.

“You’re lying,” Kakyoin said. He didn’t need to read Jotaro’s thoughts to know that.

Jotaro smirked. “He only brings it up every few weeks,” he amended. “He thinks it’s funny.”

He will also like him. He likes having new people to tease, and Kakyoin is easily flustered. He’ll get a good laugh out of him.

Kakyoin felt like he should be offended. Easily flustered? He was about to open his mouth to defend himself when Jotaro’s thoughts grew worried.

Jolyne will need time to warm up to him. She may not even understand who he is. She doesn’t adjust to change very well. She still expects me to be with her mother sometimes.

Kakyoin pulled away from Jotaro’s touch so that he could not hear his worried thoughts about his daughter. It felt like he was overstepping.

He felt a bit overwhelmed in general. Jotaro was thinking about how Kakyoin would fit into his family. Sure, he had a massive crush on Kakyoin, but wanting to rail him was one thing, and introducing him to his daughter was another.

“Jojo, I’m feeling much better now. I should probably head back to my place,” Kakyoin said as he sat aside his empty bowl of soup.

Jotaro sat up a bit. “It’s late. You should stay and rest.”

“I’ve already intruded too much,” Kakyoin insisted. “I don’t want to take advantage.”

“I want you to,” Jotaro said. He was earnest.

Kakyoin sighed. “Jojo, you are too nice to me,” he complained. “I feel guilty about how nice you’re being to me.”

“That doesn’t make any sense,” Jotaro bluntly replied.

Kakyoin abruptly stood. “I know, I’m sorry. I just think I should go back home now. I’ve been here far longer than is appropriate for coworkers to hang out.”

Jotaro stood and grabbed Kakyoin by the hand. Kakyoin was bombarded by Jotaro’s thoughts of not wanting him to leave.

“I want you to stay,” Jotaro said, echoing his thoughts.

Kakyoin pulled his hand away. “But-“

“You’re more than a coworker to me,” he added. “I love you.”

Kakyoin gaped at Jotaro. He felt like he couldn’t move. He double-checked to make sure that they weren’t touching, but it was not Jotaro’s thoughts that Kakyoin had just heard. Jotaro actually confessed.

Wasn’t it just last night that Jotaro was thinking about taking things slow!? Thinking about introducing someone to your family and confessing your love to them was not taking it slow!

“Jojo,” Kakyoin eventually stammered. His cheeks felt very warm. “This is so… sudden.”

“I’ve liked you for a long time,” Jotaro confessed. “My feelings only solidified once we started spending time together.”

Kakyoin internally cursed him for being so straightforward. “I don’t know what to say,” he eventually murmured.

“You don’t have to say anything,” Jotaro said. “Just stay here with me.”

Kakyoin’s heart felt like it was thumping out of his chest. He eventually nodded. He was starting to run out of words.

Jotaro brushed his hair out of his face and tucked it behind his ear.

I want to kiss him.

Kakyoin nearly jumped at the thought.

“I want to kiss you,” Jotaro said.

Kakyoin nearly jumped again.

“Okay?” He squeaked.

Jotaro leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Kakyoin just tried to follow his lead and avoid making a fool out of himself. Jotaro’s thoughts were positively thrilled but Kakyoin was too distracted by his lips moving on his own to focus.

Kakyoin pulled away with a gasp when Jotaro’s tongue slipped past his lips.

“Jojo, I’m still sick!” Kakyoin stammered. “You’re going to catch my cold!”

Jotaro did not look the slightest bit concerned. “I don’t mind,” he said.

Kakyoin chastised him for not taking care of his health. It was easier than dwelling on how Jotaro’s feelings were now out in the open.

Kakyoin stayed the night. He fought Jotaro to sleep on the futon instead of taking his bed again. Jotaro begrudgingly allowed it.

Kakyoin barely slept that night. Were they dating now? Wasn’t saying ‘I love you’ kind of a big deal? How did any of this work?

Kakyoin was mostly shocked that he didn’t see the confession coming. It was fascinating how it almost didn't matter that Kakyoin could read Jotaro’s thoughts. He still had no idea what the man was thinking.

The next week, their routine remained largely the same.

They still ate lunch together in Jotaro’s office every day. Jotaro still came to Kakyoin’s desk at the end of the work day and forced him to get dinner. Kakyoin stayed over at Jotaro’s apartment a few nights a week.

However, there were now some key differences. The lunches and dinners felt suspiciously date-like. Jotaro’s touches would linger. His thoughts were warm and fuzzy even though his expression didn’t change much.

There was also the kissing.

Jotaro would steal quick kisses here and there whenever they would find themselves alone at work. Whenever they had the elevator to themselves, Jotaro would lean down and kiss Kakyoin for as long as he could get away with it. His thoughts were giddy and mischievous as he did so. Kakyoin chastised him for his lack of professionalism at work.

Jotaro would also kiss Kakyoin at his apartment. These kisses were different. They were longer, sloppier, and more passionate. Jotaro’s thoughts grew more syrupy and sensual when he kissed Kakyoin in the evenings. It was overwhelming at times for Kakyoin to hear Jotaro’s thoughts and feelings while being devoured by the man. While it grew less embarrassing, it never became less intense.

Kakyoin couldn’t say that he completely disliked hearing Jotaro’s thoughts in these moments. He had become fond of the idea of being desired, especially by someone as handsome and kind as Jotaro. Sure, he was completely out of his depth experience-wise, but Jotaro didn’t even seem to mind that.

The steamier the kissing got, the more frighteningly realistic Jotaro’s sexy daydreams became.

Kakyoin shuddered whenever he caught a glimpse of himself gasping in Jotaro’s mind. It was like Jotaro constantly replayed their make-out sessions in his head.

It wasn’t like Kakyoin didn’t think about it as well. He’d been catching his own mind wandering instead of working on his never-ending emails. His work had really started to pile up but he couldn’t stop thinking about Jotaro’s arm muscles or jawline no matter how hard he tried.

It was during one of these moments when Kakyoin’s thoughts had gotten away from him at work and he stared mindlessly into his computer screen when Dio dropped a heavy stack of files onto his desk. Kakyoin jumped in his seat and immediately grabbed onto the tilting pile of files threatening to spill all over his desk.

“Kakyoin!” Dio said with a smile as sharp as broken glass. “Why haven’t these been reviewed yet?”

Kakyoin hurriedly opened the file at the top of the stack to figure out what Dio was referring to. “Uh- I’m not sure. Let me check and see-“

Dio slammed the file closed. His hand was pressed over Kakyoin’s. He leaned threateningly over Kakyoin on his chair. Kakyoin felt quite literally backed into a corner.

This is all because of that imbecile Jotaro.

Dio’s thoughts were practically growling with anger.

He must be fucking with my employee on purpose. He’s trying to undermine me by interfering with my work. I’ll ruin his fun. He’ll see what happens when he tries to fuck with me. I’ll teach him to focus on his own dumbass job instead of fucking with mine.

“Get these done now. Don’t disappoint me any more than you already have,” Dio sneered at him before he stood and walked away.

Kakyoin remembered to breathe again and gasped for air as soon as Dio was out of sight. The man’s thoughts felt black and slimy as they echoed in his head.

Kakyoin shakily stood from his desk. He needed to warn Jotaro. Dio was obviously planning something. Kakyoin wasn’t sure what Dio could possibly have in mind, but it certainly couldn’t be good.

Jotaro was the CEO’s grandson but that didn’t mean he was untouchable. What if Dio did something to embarrass him or hurt his career?

Kakyoin speed-walked to the elevator and repeatedly jabbed the button in a panic. It wasn’t until he got onto the elevator that he began to second guess himself. It was about 4 PM, and Kakyoin wasn’t sure what Jotaro’s schedule was for the day. What if he got up there and Jotaro was in an important meeting? What if Jotaro wasn’t even in his office?

Kakyoin stepped off the elevator and hurriedly walked towards Jotaro’s office. The door was open and Jotaro was sitting at his desk. His assistant was briefing Jotaro on some messages received from various clients. Jotaro looked incredibly bored.

He sat up when he saw Kakyoin standing in the doorway. “What’s wrong?” Jotaro asked, interrupting his assistant who looked up in confusion.

“I need to talk to you,” Kakyoin said as he nervously leaned against the door.

Jotaro waved him in.

“Sir, what about the rest of the client-“

“Leave,” Jotaro ordered. “Close the door behind you.”

His assistant gave Kakyoin a nasty glare as she walked out of the office.

Jotaro stood and walked up to Kakyoin.

“Jojo, I-“

Jotaro slid his arms around Kakyoin and pulled him into a deep kiss. His thoughts were extremely pleased, giddy even.

He came to visit me in my office. He’s here to see me even though we just had lunch a few hours ago.

Kakyoin pulled away from Jotaro before his thoughts inevitably took a naughty turn. He felt a little bad about raining on his parade by telling him he didn’t come here just to make out with him.

“Jojo, I really do need to talk to you about something!”

Jotaro cocked his head. “What is it?”

Kakyoin took a deep breath. “I think Dio is planning to do something to hurt your career.”

Jotaro blinked at Kakyoin for a second. “Is that it?”

Kakyoin scoffed. “What do you mean, ‘is that it’!? I’m serious! Dio is really mad at you, and he wants to get revenge!”

“How would he do that?” Jotaro asked. “And how do you know for sure?”

Kakyoin groaned. “I don’t know exactly what he’s planning but I’m sure, okay!?”

Jotaro shook his head. “I’m not afraid of Dio. He can’t do anything to me.”

That didn’t reassure Kakyoin at all. “Jojo, if you could have just heard him!“

“Did Dio tell you he was planning something?” Jotaro asked.

Kakyoin shook his head. “No, of course not!” He answered. “But I know- I just know, okay?”

“How?” Jotaro asked.

“Because-“ Kakyoin let out a frustrated sigh. “Because I’m a wizard!”

Jotaro blinked at Kakyoin.

Is my boyfriend losing his mind?

“I’m not losing my mind!” Kakyoin replied. “I have special powers! Well, a special power. I can read people's minds. I can tell what people are thinking just by touching them. Apparently when someone is still a virgin at 30, they become a wizard. I’ve been able to read your mind and everyone else’s for the last several months.”

Jotaro’s thoughts remained skeptical and worried for Kakyoin’s sanity.

“Are you feeling okay?” Jotaro worriedly asked.

It just drove Kakyoin further into confession territory.

“Jojo, I know the kinds of things that you think about me! I know that you pictured me wearing nothing but an apron and serving you coffee! You think about my bedhead every morning in the elevator. You fantasize about getting me pregnant even though I'm a man. You get excited by the idea of taking my virginity. You think about sex a lot! Sometimes, it’s just silly fantasies but other times, it’s scarily realistic. You’re surprisingly perverted for someone with such a stoic face.”

Jotaro actually managed to look surprised and embarrassed. Kakyoin briefly felt triumphant that he cracked Jotaro’s cool facade. When Jotaro took a step back from him, his triumph quickly evaporated. Kakyoin might have just ruined the one chance at a relationship he’d ever had.

“How long have you been able to do this?” Jotaro hesitantly asked.

Kakyoin nervously wrung his hands together. “Since I turned 30. It was the day that I spilled coffee on you in that meeting.”

Kakyoin didn’t need to be able to read Jotaro’s mind to watch the man connect the dots between Kakyoin’s mind reading and the coffee incident. Jotaro’s expression then went carefully blank.

Kakyoin panicked. “I just need you to believe me because I heard Dio’s thoughts just now, and he was obviously trying to plan something to get back at you! I don’t know what exactly he’s planning but you need to be careful because his mind is always so scary and-“

“Noriaki-“ Jotaro interrupted him. “Calm down. I’m not worried about Dio.”

“But-“

“This is my grandfather’s company. He can’t do anything to me here,” Jotaro assured him.

“Then he must be planning something else!” Kakyoin interjected.

“When you’re reading someone’s mind, are you always able to get the full picture of what someone is planning? What they want? How they’re going to get it?” Jotaro curiously asked.

Kakyoin shook his head. “No. Most people’s thoughts don’t make a whole lot of sense. Especially when I can only get short snippets.”

Jotaro stepped closer to Kakyoin, although they were not quite touching. “Dio is a monster by nature, and he’s always despised me. It doesn’t surprise me that his thoughts reflect that. You might be able to hear what he’s thinking, but none of this is new information.”

Kakyoin felt himself deflate like a balloon. Did he just embarrass himself and destroy his relationship to tell Jotaro something that he already knows?

“You’re right,” Kakyoin stuttered. He avoided looking Jotaro in the eye. “I guess I shouldn’t have been so worried. I just didn’t like the way he was thinking about you. It was… scary.”

Jotaro gently lifted Kakyoin’s chin and tenderly kissed him.

It makes me happy that you were worried for me. It makes me even happier that you knew about my perverted thoughts but you decided to be with me anyway. Do they excite you, too? Do you ever listen on purpose? That’s perverted in and of itself. I could do it on purpose if that’s your fetish.

Kakyoin pushed Jotaro away. “Hey!” He exclaimed. “Stop thinking at me! It’s freaky!” He whined.

“I could get used to it,” Jotaro said with a smirk. He stroked Kakyoin’s cheek.

You’re cute when you’re blushing and embarrassed.

Kakyoin groaned and buried his face in Jotaro’s chest.

Kakyoin eventually squirmed away from Jotaro and his teasing thoughts and went back to work at his desk to try and get as much done as he could before Jotaro eventually pulled him away for the night.

He was surprised at how much lighter and happier he felt the rest of the day. His secret had been weighing on him for quite some time but Kakyoin hadn’t realized just how heavy it was. Now Jotaro knew everything about him. There were no secrets between them anymore, and Jotaro still liked him anyway. It was thrilling to think about.

Jotaro seemed happy, too. Kakyoin stayed that night at his place, and Jotaro continued to tease Kakyoin without saying a single word.

You should come and visit me in my office more often. It’s boring without you.

“No way,” Kakyoin answered. They were cuddled on the couch and pretending to watch some stupid game show. In reality, they spoke the whole time via a half-silent conversation. “Your assistant will kill me if you don’t get your work done.”

Nothing really happens after 3 PM anyway.

“That is not true,” Kakyoin said. “Maybe you don't get anything done but other people are busy working.”

Kakyoin was giddy for the rest of the night. He felt drunk with happiness at the sound of Jotaro’s teasing thoughts. Jotaro was much sillier in his thoughts than he let on. He seemed much more able to communicate with Kakyoin via his teasing inner voice than he could aloud. It made Kakyoin almost thankful for his cursed virginity.

The next morning when Kakyoin arrived at work, Dio was already in his office.

He could have sworn his heart gave out then and there. Dio never strayed from his normal hours unless something was very, very wrong.

When Dio smiled and stood from his desk at the sight of Kakyoin, he knew he was finished.

“Don’t bother logging in,” Dio exclaimed in an overly friendly voice. “We’re going to have a chat in my office.”

Kakyoin sat inside his office next to a small woman who sat slightly hunched and quivering in terror.

Dio gestured towards the woman. “Jennifer from HR,” he introduced her.

Kakyoin couldn’t even manage to nod at the woman. Luckily, she appeared to be too paralyzed with fear to notice Kakyoin much.

Kakyoin felt like he was having an out-of-body experience as he was promptly fired. Dio rambled about how his performance had not been what it should have been.

“We’ve had several discussions about your performance so far, and it still has not improved,” Dio stated.

Kakyoin squinted in confusion. “What discussions?”

Dio lifted a stack of paperwork. “I have copies of the meeting dates, as well as all the email summaries I sent you afterward right here. I have your PIP as well. Jennifer signed off on each session. All her signatures are dated as well. Really, Kakyoin, you should see a professional regarding your memory. It’s not what it used to be.”

Dio spoke in a pitying tone. It infuriated Kakyoin. Both he and Dio knew very well that he was one of the sharpest people in the office and his memory was damn near perfect.

Dio lied to get him fired immediately, and he had the documentation to back him up. It didn’t matter that it was fake. No one would dare question Dio.

Once Dio got bored of explaining how bad Kakyoin was at his job, he passed the baton to Jennifer from HR. She squeakily explained the logistics of Kakyoin’s meager severance package. Kakyoin didn’t listen to her.

He felt like he entered a trance state. Jennifer’s speech didn’t take very long at all. A couple of security guards came and oversaw Kakyoin as he cleared out his desk and put his belongings into an empty copy paper box. He was thankful that it was too early in the morning for most people to be around to see him get escorted out of the building.

Kakyoin took the train home. He stepped into his apartment, slipped into his pajamas, and crawled into bed.

He had a fading thought as he hastily drifted off into sleep. He felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He thought being fired would be more devastating, but he was surprisingly calm.

His last thought before sleep took him was that he would probably never have to see Dio ever again. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

Kakyoin slowly woke up to a buzzing sound. The way the light filtered through the window, he could tell it was late afternoon. The events of the morning slowly replayed in his mind as he groaned and rolled over in his bed. He felt around until he located the source of the buzzing sound. His phone stopped before he got the chance to answer the call.

Kakyoin glanced at the screen to see a litany of missed calls and texts. His eyes widened at the number of them. Kakyoin wasn’t sure he had ever received so many messages in his whole life. Most were from Jotaro, although a decent amount were from Polnareff as well. Some of his coworkers from the legal department had sent him concerned messages. He even had a couple of texts from Avdol asking if there was any way he could help.

Before he could finish reading all the messages, he got another incoming call. Kakyoin accepted it.

“Jojo,” Kakyoin answered the phone.

“Where are you?” Jotaro asked. “And why haven’t you been answering your phone?”

Kakyoin was surprised by the urgency in Jotaro’s voice. He sounded a bit angry and panicked.

“I’m at my apartment,” Kakyoin hesitantly answered. “Sorry for missing your calls. I was sleeping.”

“I’ll be there in 15 minutes,” Jotaro said. He hung up the phone.

Kakyoin stared at his now black phone screen. Why did Jotaro sound so angry? Was he angry at him? Kakyoin could barely get a read on him when he couldn’t hear his thoughts.

Kakyoin fell back into bed with a defeated sigh. It would be just his luck to get both fired and dumped on the same day. He rolled out of bed to get dressed again and try to start the day over.

Jotaro made it to Kakyoin’s apartment in 10 minutes. Kakyoin wondered if he sped over. He was usually a very safe driver.

Kakyoin opened the door to let Jotaro in. He was still wearing his suit that he put on this morning before they went to work together. He was irritated. Kakyoin wondered how being openly agitated could make someone like Jotaro look even more handsome than normal.

Jotaro crossed his arms and looked Kakyoin up and down, seeming to take in every detail. Kakyoin wasn’t quite sure what to say. He wondered if he should touch Jotaro to figure out what he was thinking, but the man didn’t look like he was in a very cuddly mood.

“Uh- have you had lunch yet, today? It’s a little early for you to be leaving the office.”

“No,” Jotaro answered with a frown.

Kakyoin scratched his head. “Oh, well, I’d offer to make something but I haven’t really gone grocery shopping in a while, and I’m not exactly the best cook, so-“

“Stop,” Jotaro interrupted.

“Jojo?” Kakyoin asked. He reached out to touch Jotaro but the man stepped back out of his reach. The rejection stung.

“It’s not fair,” Jotaro said.

“Well, yeah, Dio isn’t exactly the most-“

“Not that,” Jotaro interrupted.

“Then what are you talking about?” Kakyoin asked. He was genuinely confused by the direction of their conversation.

“You can read my mind but I can’t read yours,” Jotaro answered. “I would have preferred if you would have immediately told me that you were fired instead of figuring it out from someone else.”

Kakyoin winced. “Sorry, they kind of… escorted me out of the building. They told me to leave and not come back.”

Jotaro only looked angrier. “I’ve been trying to call you for hours.”

Kakyoin felt his first real sense of remorse all day. He had fucked this up, and now Jotaro was mad at him. He guiltily avoided eye contact. He nervously picked at his fingernails.

“Sorry, Jojo,” Kakyoin muttered. “I’m not really sure what I was thinking either. I kind of just went home and went back to bed. I should have at least sent you a text.”

Jotaro stepped forward and grabbed his hands. Kakyoin braced himself for more anger from his thoughts but it never came.

I was so worried about you. I was scared that something might have happened. I can’t tell what you’re thinking. I didn’t know what your mental state would be. Your job was important to you, and anyone would be upset after being fired. I thought you might be hurt, and I felt helpless when I couldn’t find you. I'm going to strangle Dio next time I see him. I knew he was an asshole but I didn't think he'd pull something like this. I don't know if I've ever been so pissed off and worried at the same time.

Kakyoin let out a sigh of relief. He leaned forward into Jotaro’s arms. The man pulled him into a tight embrace. Kakyoin tried to will away the tears that gathered in his eyes.

“I’m sorry for making you worry,” Kakyoin muttered into his chest. “I’m fine. I just felt exhausted.”

You’re not fine. You’re being weird.

“I am fine!” Kakyoin argued. “Actually, I think I’m kind of okay with getting fired. It sucks but I don’t have to deal with Dio anymore. I can get a new job with a new boss who will almost certainly be better than Dio. I feel… good,” Kakyoin explained.

Are you sure?

“I mean, of course, I’m upset about some things,” Kakyoin explained. “I’ll miss some of my coworkers, my routines. I’ll even miss Polnareff a little.” Kakyoin hugged Jotaro tighter. “And I’ll miss seeing you in the elevator every morning. I’ll miss eating lunch together every day. I’ll miss leaving work together and getting dinner right after. I’ll miss you the most. But just because I’ll have a different job doesn’t mean we’ll stop seeing each other completely.” Kakyoin looked up at Jotaro with a timid smile. “I think you were really the only thing I liked about that job anyways,” he confessed.

Jotaro leaned down and pulled Kakyoin into a deep kiss. Kakyoin was overwhelmed by Jotaro’s feelings of relief and happiness that poured into him. As the kiss went on and grew sloppier, the feelings became naughtier.

A slightly more coherent and innocent thought slipped through.

I want to be with you every day.

“Me too,” Kakyoin gasped. “I wanted to be with you every day, too!”

When Jotaro proceeded to drag Kakyoin into the bedroom and began to furiously unbutton his shirt and unbuckle his belt, Kakyoin briefly wondered if Jotaro had meant something different after all.

Kakyoin pulled his own clothes off anyway. He didn’t mind the misunderstanding if it meant he got to see Jotaro naked.

Jotaro pushed him onto the bed once he was down to his underwear. Kakyoin was hot and shivery. Jotaro’s thoughts and feelings only heightened the mood. Jotaro helped him pull off his briefs.

His dick is so cute.

Kakyoin slapped Jotaro on the shoulder. “Jojo!”

Jotaro stopped sucking on Kakyoin’s collarbone to look him in the eye. “What?”

“You can’t just call another man’s penis cute!” Kakyoin squeaked.

Jotaro laughed. It stunned Kakyoin into being still. “I didn’t say anything,” Jotaro said.

Before Kakyoin could argue, Jotaro kissed him hard, silencing his protests.

Kakyoin was subjected to each and every one of Jotaro’s dirty thoughts about how flushed Kakyoin was, about how sexy his gasps and moans were, how tight and hot he was, and how well he took Jotaro despite being a virgin. He could feel arousal thrumming through his veins, although it was hard to separate his own from Jotaro’s. As Jotaro’s thrusts became harder and more desperate, the thoughts faded into the background and both of their feelings overcame him.

Kakyoin felt his own climax alongside Jotaro’s climax. His hips bucked and his body shuddered as he reached a height of arousal that he didn’t know was possible.

The orgasm echo chamber melted his brain. Kakyoin passed out from pleasure.

Kakyoin woke up with his cheek pressed against Jotaro’s chest. His body was half laid on top of Jotaro. Jotaro’s fingers combed through his hair.

Kakyoin let out a pleased sigh. Jotaro’s skin was smooth and warm. Kakyoin could get used to laying on him and using his chest as a pillow. Even though Jotaro was quiet, he didn’t seem to mind it either.

Kakyoin sat up with a gasp, then he gasped again at the way his hips and lower back ached at the movement. “Ow,” he whimpered.

Jotaro sat up, looking concerned. “Are you okay?”

Kakyoin grabbed his shoulders. “I can’t hear you!” He exclaimed. “I can’t hear your thoughts anymore! Quick, think about something and I’ll try to listen!”

Kakyoin gripped Jotaro’s shoulders tight as he squeezed his eyes shut. He tried his best to focus on listening for even the faintest thought, but he only heard the sounds of their breath.

“Nothing!” Kakyoin confirmed. “I didn’t hear a single thing. Did you think something at me?”

“Yeah,” Jotaro confirmed.

Kakyoin laughed. He fell into Jotaro’s arms, who happily pulled him closer.

“I’m not a wizard anymore. You have to tell me what you’re thinking from now on, or I won’t know.”

“I was thinking about how I wanted to fuck you again,” Jotaro murmured.

Kakyoin let out a deep sigh. “Why does that not surprise me?” He groaned. “My boyfriend is so perverted.”

Jotaro pulled him in for a kiss. It was almost a little more intense without Jotaro’s thoughts to distract from the feeling of it. Kakyoin was gasping for air by the time the kiss was over. He’d briefly forgotten how to breathe.

“You don’t need to read my mind,” Jotaro answered. “You already know what I think about.”

Kakyoin giggled. “Not always. You’re a real mystery sometimes."

“Then just ask,” Jotaro said. “I’ll tell you whatever I’m thinking.”

“Even if it’s perverted?” Kakyoin asked.

“Especially if it’s perverted,” Jotaro answered before pulling Kakyoin in for another kiss.

Kakyoin felt his own happiness thrumming through him. It was quiet without Jotaro’s thoughts in his head but he was so at peace that he didn’t mind. Jotaro’s intentions were clear, and Kakyoin was very happy with them.

At the age of 30, Kakyoin had lost his virginity, gained a loving boyfriend, and he had been freed from his toxic boss. He couldn’t help but feel very content with the direction his life was going in.

Notes:

Hello everyone!! I missed you, and I missed writing!! This year has been so crazy, and while I've been working on various wips here and there, I just haven't been able to finish and post anything.

I've moved over to bluesky at @lazyserendipity.bsky.social. Pls join me on there and post a bunch of jotakak stuff with me. I'm still on twitter for now but I'm seriously considering deleting it soon. I'm conflicted because that's where a lot of the jotakak artists still are, but I'm extremely sick and tired of the conservative ads and propaganda, especially after the election.

Things have been quite dark in the US as of late. I've been working on a fake marriage au off and on this year that involves getting married with the hope of getting a green card, but I've slowed down working on it. There's a lot of uncertainty about the next several years ahead, and part of me feels like it's wrong to romanticize immigrating to the US. This fic is much lighter, and working on it has been a real source of escapism for me. I still want to share the green card fic eventually, but I really need to reevaluate a lot of it since Things are Happening in the US right now and I have reason to believe that things will get worse.

Sorry for the rambling and doom and gloom. I'm hoping to write more in the coming months than I did this past year. As always, thank you for reading.

The title is of course inspired by the song Like a Virgin by Madonna :)
