Work Text:
Hawks had no idea that grabbing a silly discount “get to know you” game would lead him to this moment. He had no idea that said silly game was a sexual innuendo and was strictly not meant for friends. No idea fucking Dabi of all people would be pulling it out of his only junk bin in his apartment. No idea it would be the only game he even has available when the power is out and there’s literally nothing else to do.
Why didn’t Hawks grab a regular fucking card game in all of his adult life? Why is it that the only possible activity they can do to bide the time is a fucking sex game?
Uggghhhhhh.
Fuck.
Hawks and Dabi had been on an outing— their usual status quo of Hawks badgering Dabi about anything and everything, and Dabi as usual, only leading him astray and dragging him by his metaphorical tail feathers.
They stopped on a roof to eat some food after Dabi’s stomach unceremoniously growled loudly. He insisted that he didn’t want food from a hero, but Hawks is never not hungry, so he managed to use it as an excuse for both of them to eat.
If his birdbrain cheered from getting the chance to feed Dabi, that’s his secret and his alone, thank you.
Unlike their other rooftop snack breaks— as they were settled down and eating, clouds started forming extremely abnormally and rapidly, until an all-out typhoon started. Probably due to some quirk mishap.
Luckily, the area of disaster was not within Hawks’ patrolling area, so he was able to avoid the hero work that he knows will come from this, and instead, drag (or rather, fly an unwilling) Dabi back home with him in the pouring rain to wait out the storm–both of them getting completely soaked in the process.
Once they landed on his balcony, flickering the light switches up and down had shown that the power had gone out. So, Hawks used his feathers to grab the flashlights he keeps in the kitchen for emergencies and plopped them around the room, also handing one to Dabi.
He then unceremoniously dried them both off somewhat, courtesy of his feathers and towels. Once they were no longer dripping wet, Hawks shoved some dry clothes into Dabi’s unwilling arms and showed him to the bathroom to change.
Changing into some dry and fuzzy clothes himself, was around the time when Dabi started complaining about how the phone lines were also down, and how he had no way home since he always had Kurogiri on hand through his phone.
Hawks, not one to let an opportunity of one-on-one time with Dabi go to waste, suggested they could just bide the time here until services come back. Since he has off work the next morning, Dabi spending the night wouldn’t be a big deal.
Which then leads to their current predicament of Dabi searching through Hawks’ admittedly barren apartment for anything to do besides straight-up talking to each other.
It’s just Hawks’ luck, however, that the only thing he has on hand is that godforsaken sexual innuendo of a game.
“Look man, how was I supposed to know that game was like that?” Hawks groans, shoving his hands over his rapidly reddening face.
Dabi is sat on the carpeted floor, holding the card game, in front of Hawks’ one storage container in his living room, which also serves as a footrest for the couch
“Oh I don’t know. Maybe because of the big 18+ symbol right on the front of it?!” Dabi snarks, pointing at said symbol so Hawks can see.
“Well, I thought it just meant it was for adults! Adults have different lives than kids, so of course they’d need a more advanced getting to know someone game!” Hawks bemoans.
Dabi clicks his tongue and shakes his head, mumbling, “Fucking birdbrain.” He rummages through more of the junk bin in Hawk’s living room, but Hawks knows he won’t be finding anything else in there that they can do.
Besides the one discount card game, all that Hawks keeps in there are little trinkets said birdbrain latches onto and wants to keep. He shoves them all in there purely out of habit of needing to hide his things, after having grown up under the HPSC’s watchful eye.
When Dabi realizes it’s a lost cause, he groans and starfishes backwards out onto Hawks’ carpet. “We can always just go to bed,” Hawks tries to suggest.
“Hell no. There’s no way I’m falling asleep so soon – and I refuse to spend hours staring silently at your dark showroom of an apartment.” He lifts his head up to glare. “You have alcohol in here, yeah?”
At Hawks’ confused nod in response, Dabi all but demands, “Go get it and some glasses. We’ll play your stupid fucking game but I ain’t doing it sober.”
As Hawks scrambles to find his singular unopened bottle of sake that was gifted to him by Best Jeanist when he officially beat the denim hero in the rankings, Dabi starts unpackaging the game onto the floor and uses his flashlight to probably read through the raunchy instructions to set it up.
Hawks honestly doesn’t know if he wants to play the game. He’s as inexperienced as they come. He never has any free time to make friends, nevertheless find a romantic/sexual partner. But, he’s also incessantly nosey and wouldn’t mind hearing more about the scarred villain, even if it involves exposing himself in the process.
Once he has two glasses on hand along with the ancient unused bottle, Hawks uses spare feathers to drag out some blankets and cushions from his bedroom. So he can make the carpet somewhat comfier, laying them out in some semblance of a nest.
He plops down and slides the bottle and glasses in between himself and Dabi. He also drops an extra pillow and blanket next to Dabi, letting the man get comfortable, too.
Dabi has the cards organized into 4 piles on the floor. The piles each have different symbols on the back of the top card. A yellow smiley face, a red rose, a blue heart and a fire emblem. The piles get incrementally smaller as they go. There’s also a lone timer next to the piles.
At Hawks’ inquisitive eye, Dabi elaborates, “We take cards from each pile as the game goes on. 4 from the first, 3 from the next, and so on.” He tugs the pillow underneath himself and slides the blanket on his lap. “The cards start off more tame in the beginning which is why you take more of ‘em. And then they’re supposed to get worse. There’s also a timer for some timed cards. I say we take a fat sip of that sake before each round. And if you really don’t want to do something then take… 3 big gulps.”
“Sounds good to me,” Hawks responds as Dabi grabs the sake bottle and twists it open with a loud pop.
“Great,” Dabi grumbles, “I’m gonna have some now before we start. Can’t do this shit sober,” He pours the drink into both glasses. “Can you make yourself useful and situate a couple of flashlights with your feathers so we can see better?”
“Yessir,” Hawks responds with a salute and quick work of his feathers to do just that. As he’s playing around with the flashlights for optimal vision, Dabi downs his first glass of sake with a hiss.
Hawks decides that he, too, can’t do this sober, and follows suit, gulping the glass down and slamming it back onto the ground.
Shit. This is really happening. Hawks seriously hopes Dabi’s also as much of a virgin as he is, or this is gonna be embarrassing as fuck. Ugh.
As if Dabi’s predicting Hawks’ next line of thinking, he says, “You better not lie about shit. That takes all the fun out of it. If you don’t wanna answer it, just drink. I won’t lie, so you better not.”
Hawks slumps his shoulders dramatically, “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Do you want to start us off, oh noble truth teller?”
Dabi huffs. “Fine fuckface, I will,” he reaches over to the biggest pile and grabs the card on top.
Dabi brings it up to his face to read it and then groans. “What’s your ideal first date? Eugh. I dunno I’ve never fucking thought about it.Fuck…” He leans back in thought. Hawks gives him a minute to think, mostly because he is actually curious about this. What would the supervillain Dabi want to do on a first date?
After a bit, Dabi speaks up, “Okay. Maybe we cook something together and go for a walk. I dunno. Or spend the night in. I never liked going out… even before all this—“ he gestures at himself, probably referring to the severe scarring, “—so as long as it’s just something cozy and laidback, I’d be fine with it. Low stakes. Yeah.” He awkwardly finishes with a cough.
As if it was physically painful for him to share that tiny bit of information, Dabi leans over to refill his glass with more sake and takes an obnoxiously big gulp.
Hawks must get lost in thought staring at Dabi, playing his words back and forth in his head. Hawks is startled back to the present though, when Dabi slams a card right in front of Hawks’ lap with a raised eyebrow.
“Right, heh, sorry,” Hawks scratches at his cheek awkwardly. He flips the card over to read, pulling it up close to his face– even though they have all these flashlights, it’s still kind of dark for Hawks‘ bird-eyes. “Do whatever the other tells you to for a minute…” he trails off at the end, shyly peering up at Dabi’s gaze from behind the card.
Dabi snorts as they make eye contact, reaching over to set the timer as he says, “Well, Birdie, looks like I just won…” Dabi then takes on the most vicious smile Hawks thinks he’s ever seen the other man wear. Fuck, this was a mistake. Is he gonna fuck Hawks over? Make him do something that would absolutely ruin his life?
As Hawks is stewing in fear, Dabi lets out a loud cackle, “Fuck look at your face,” he wipes at his eyes, still laughing, “Shit, that’s hilarious. Go get me a glass of water and some snacks, damn pigeon.”
Hawks’ whole body goes stiff at the total 180 of Dabi’s demeanor. “Eh?!”
Dabi shoos at him with his hands, “Go on, get me my shit,” and Hawks scurries away to his kitchen.
Realizing he left all the flashlights in the other room, he zips a feather back and grabs the one he’d used to read his card. He grabs another glass from the cabinet and fills it to the brim with still somewhat-cool water from the fridge. Then he scours through his cabinets looking for a snack worthy of Dabi.
He grabs a couple of different things with his feathers, some shrimp chips, pocky, and barbecue chips. Hoping that’s good enough for Dabi, he soars them over to the man with his feathers. Following behind at a slower pace with the glass of water in his hands, not wanting to trip in the dark and spill it everywhere.
Dabi’s already looking over the haul as Hawks sits back down and places the glass next to Dabi. “You can have the shrimp chips,” he says as he chucks the bag at Hawks. “I hate fish.” And then he delves into the barbecue chips obnoxiously.
Hawks twiddles his fingers, glancing back and forth at the timer that still has a little time left, and Dabi’s face. “…Is there anything else you want?”
Dabi peers back up at Hawks, seeming to have forgotten that it was Hawks’ dare and not just him doing whatever Dabi asks. “Nah, I’ll go,” He replies, all muffled from chewing.
“…Ugh. Where do you think you’ll be in 5 years?” He sighs. “Dead probably, you go.”
Hawks involuntarily gapes at Dabi. Yeah, villainy isn’t really something you can make a lifelong career out of without ruling the world or whatever. But, Hawks was under the impression that that was what the league wanted. Not to die? Dabi must have his own plans then and hopefully, Hawks can figure out what’s going on so it doesn’t come to that.
Hawks doesn’t want Dabi to die.
He knows trying to get any more information out of Dabi at this point is futile, so whatever, he’ll grab a fucking card and pretend like that answer isn’t sending Hawks through a loop.
He sends Dabi a harsh look before reading out his card. “Tell your partner your favorite thing about them,” Hawks reads.
…And all of a sudden he can feel all of the blood in his body rocket to his face.
Dabi snickers at his obvious embarrassment.
“Well I guess I…” He trails off, thinking. What is Hawks’ favorite thing about Dabi?
An obvious surface-level answer would be his super shiny piercings and staples that catch the light whenever they’re together, attracting his eyes every time he turns or shifts. Or his beautiful blue eyes and flames that match. There’s also the way Dabi taps his foot when he’s obviously excited about something— as if he can’t contain his emotions inside. Or the way that he’s got a really mean sense of humor that always ends up making Hawks laugh, even when he shouldn’t.
But the thing that stands out to Hawks the most would probably be… “I like how thoughtful and observant you can be. You’re really good at reading body language, and even though you might not act like it on the outside, the little things that you do show how much you care. That’s probably my favorite,” Hawks answers with a small smile.
“Or, your devilishly handsome good looks,” he laughs and waggles his eyebrows, not wanting to make Dabi too uncomfortable with all his observations. He knows Dabi puts on that angry front, which is why it means so much more when Dabi does something thoughtful. It shows he’s not all mean and nasty like he acts.
Dabi rolls his eyes, “I’m just gonna pretend you never said all that.”
He grabs another card. “Take a cute selfie together,” Dabi immediately gags (very loudly and dramatically). “Ugh. This feels more and more cringey the longer we play. I wouldn’t be surprised if a teen girl made all these cards or something,” he grumbles.
“Aw, Dabi, you don’t want to take a photo with me?” Hawks playfully pouts. “So many people would pay big bucks to be in your shoes, y’know.”
“Exactly.” Dabi glares. He loudly groans and gets up, stretching as he does so. Hawks catches the quiet popping sound of one or two of Dabi’s joints through his scattered feathers.
Hawks is about to question where he’s going, when again, Dabi seems to read his thoughts. “Gonna go grab my phone, birdbrain. In case you forgot, fluffy pants and sweatshirts aren’t my typical outfit. I left my phone by my other shit.”
“Right,” Hawks responds, leaning back to stare at the ceiling as he waits, letting the feeling of being tipsy encapsulate his being for a minute. Feeling the way everything slides right off of him, feeling his lips upturn at the giddy feeling passing through him.
In probably under a minute, Dabi plops down right next to Hawks with his phone in hand. Hawks lets his head roll over to look at Dabi as he fiddles with his phone. He must unconsciously lean in because when Dabi looks up at Hawks, their noses are almost touching.
Hawks’ eyes go wide and he can feel a blush forming on his cheeks. Dabi snickers and leans forward into Hawks’ space, not allowing him to back away too far. “Where are you going? Did you forget we need to take a selfie?” He asks mockingly, pitching his voice into a weird tone on the last word.
Before Hawks can even respond, Dabi wraps his arm around Hawks’ shoulders and pulls him up close.
Hawks’ brain freezes at the contact. Dabi is so warm, so solid, so comfortable. Hawks is so fucking touch starved, what the fuck. Just being manhandled to lean into Dabi has him completely malfunctioning. He can feel his heartbeat pick up, and completely forgets why this is happening– until he hears the loud shutter of the camera.
He blinks. “Wait, no, delete that, I wasn’t ready,” Hawks panics. He untangles himself from Dabi’s hold and reaches for the phone with the punishable photo that probably shows way too much of Hawks’ current emotions than he would ever like to be caught on camera.
Dabi, being the fucking menace he is, only laughs and quickly shoves his phone under his butt, hiding it from Hawks’ reach. “Nah, I quite like that photo, I’ll be keeping it, thank you very much.”
“Nghh please, Dabi! That’s so mean!” Hawks whines.
Dabi responds with another laugh and grabs a new card from the stack, shoving it in Hawks’ empty hands. “Your turn,” he drolls.
Hawks loudly sighs and tries to fight off the anxiety of the other man having such an awful, incriminating picture on his phone. The alcohol at least helps with that. “What’s the number one thing you wished more people knew about you?” He dejectedly reads.
He’s obviously not gonna say something too deep, lord only knows Dabi would take advantage of that in some way, shape or form. But, being so close to him still (Dabi for some reason made himself comfortable next to Hawks, rather than moving back to his prior spot), reminds Hawks of all the people that obnoxiously touch his wings when they’re this close of proximity, without his consent.
“I guess for, like, the general populace… I wish I could somehow convey that I don’t want random people to touch my wings and feathers. It’s like, every time I’m out in public, I can’t escape from someone grabbing them or feeling them…” He sighs and pauses for a second.
“Like yeah, they look cool, and not many other people have wings like mine so I get the novelty of wanting to…” Hawks continues, now unable to stop himself from ranting to a listening ear, “But to me, it’s like a really intimate thing. I dunno, I wouldn’t mind someone I trust, or even just like on a surface level to do it. But only if they asked first. The issue is no one ever fucking asks me. The last thing I wanna deal with on a busy day is the shivers I get after some rando caresses a stray feather. It’s almost like someone copping a feel, it’s just unwanted and grosssss,” he trails off, probably having said too much. He glances up at Dabi’s face only to see him looking contemplative.
“Huh,” Dabi eventually says. “I didn’t realize it was that bad for you. Ya‘d think that people would have enough common sense to not touch someone without permission– even if they are wings, they’re still quite obviously attached to you.”
“Exactly! Like if they weren’t actually a part of me and, let’s say, some kind of tech gadget, I probably wouldn’t give a shit. But, I can feel them doing it. It’s uncomfortable and sometimes even hurts because they just grab ‘em on their own accord.”
“Yeah, sounds like it’d get fucking annoying after only the first time. If I were in your shoes, I’d burn them all to dust. Fuckers.”
Hawks chuckles, “Yeah, well, that’s not something a hero would get away with doing, Dabs.”
“Tch. Being a hero is fucking overrated. You should just quit while you’re ahead.”
“Well, maybe if you properly let me into the league I’d be able to, but right now if I were to up and leave with no backup plan— I’d be unbelievably fucked.”
Dabi scoffs, “Whatever. It’s my turn,” He changes the subject to grab a card, obviously not wanting a repeat of this little cat-and-mouse conversation they have quite often. Of Dabi, for whatever reason (a good one) still not fully trusting Hawks enough.
“Has a random stranger ever made an impact on you?” Dabi looks up in thought.
“...I mean,” he glances over at Hawks, as if assessing whether he trusts him enough to share. “When I was first out on the streets, just trying to survive, there was this older woman who saw me by myself out in the heat… At first, I was scared she was gonna call the cops or something – because people love to act like you’re a criminal if you’re living out on the streets – but she surprised me and came back with a cold thing of water and some snacks for me. She didn’t give any false platitudes, or shame me for being out there. Just left me with something to help stave off the heat wave and wished me well. That was nice, I guess.”
Hawks bites his lip, realizing how similar, yet different, his and Dabi’s experiences have been. Hawks remembers some nice people – few and far between – that would leave him and his mom some money on the street. But there’d always be some form of criticism mixed in. “That must’ve been nice…” He whispers. “To experience that kind of no-strings-attached kindness. I’m glad she was there to help you get through that day,” Hawks lightly smiles.
Dabi gives him a small smile back and rolls his eyes, “Yeah, thanks, whatever. People usually fucking suck so that one just stuck out to me throughout the years. Anyways, your turn,” He reaches over to shove another card at Hawks.
Hawks feels the temperature change as Dabi does so, and tries so hard to smother his giggle at the fact that Dabi apparently gets hot when vulnerable.
“Sit on your partner’s lap for 5 minutes... Ehh?!?” He squawks, glancing back and forth at Dabi and the scandalous card in his hands, with an affronted look on his face.
Dabi huffs, “Well, looks like your fuckin’ game’s 18+ rating is finally starting to kick in. This was your doing you know.” He shifts on the blankets so his legs are straight in front of him, and obnoxiously pats his lap. “Well, pigeon, hop to it and set the timer.”
Hawks warily shifts so he’s perpendicular to Dabi’s front, on his lap. He felt it would’ve been way too intimate to face Dabi completely, and he feels way too weird not being able to see Dabi, so facing sideways with his legs sprawled out is a happy medium, Hawks thinks. He uses a feather to set the timer, still getting himself comfortable on top of Dabi.
If he thought Dabi was radiating heat earlier, it’s absolutely undeniable now. At least Hawks feels some form of solace at the fact that Dabi is just as affected by the physical contact as Hawks.
He just appears better at putting on an aloof act.
And oh the physical contact is so prevalent. If Hawks thought that the contact from Dabi’s arm wrapped around his shoulders was intense, sitting on his fucking lap is so much more.
He feels the heat between their pants, encapsulating his legs. Hawks has to actively suppress his feathers from twitching too much, due to the fact that he can feel some of Dabi’s breaths blow through them. Which, fucking hell, Hawks never thought he would get hot and bothered by someone’s breathing. He feels like he’s reached an all time low, but at the same time, he’s never felt so nice.
Urgh. Why does everything in his life have to be so complicated?
“Are you comfortable?” Hawks asks, trying to stop thinking about all the ways in which they’re touching right now.
“Mmn,” Dabi grunts, shifting both his arms behind him, propping himself up. “ ‘m fine.”
Hawks looks up at the ceiling, feeling awkward. “Soo…. What now?”
He isn’t able to hold back the shiver that runs through his body and feathers this time when Dabi loudly sighs. Hawks hopes he’ll spare him some dignity and not comment on it.
“Ey, well we finished the first pile. Can you hand me my glass and we can drink?”
“Mhm,” Hawks replies as he zips their somewhat-filled drinks over to them both.
Dabi dunks the rest of his glass back in one swoop, and Hawks does his best to follow suit. Needing to swallow halfway through, but managing to get it all down without making a fool of himself.
“Hand me a card from the next pile, we’ll see if we can keep playing like this, otherwise I don’t care what we do.”
Hawks plucks the top one from the second highest pile and plops it in Dabi’s now waiting hand.
“Shit,” He bursts out laughing, startling Hawks at the change in demeanor. “Moan like you’re about to cum,” Dabi reads.
Hawks can’t help but whimper at the obscenity of the question. “Do you want me to refill your glass for you?” He all but pleads, not sure if he can handle something that promiscuous while he’s sitting on Dabi’s fucking lap.
“Tch, hell no we just drank more. I’ll get drunk if I drink all that so quickly.” He scoffs, and then as they make eye contact he viciously smirks.
“UNGH!! Hawkssss!!! Your sexy, hot, beautiful penis is making me comeeee,” Dabi moans in the most artificially obscene voice. “PLEASE. I’m oh so close~~”.
Hawks feels like he’s in a state of shock. Hearing his name in a sentence like that, from Dabi’s mouth, on the man’s fucking lap – while so obviously jokingly, but still so erotically worded – his body isn’t sure whether to feel mortified or turned on.
When Dabi sees what must be the most ridiculous expression on Hawks’ face, he falls into a pit of giggling. “Shit,” he breathes out, “Your fucking face, *ha*, jeez that’s funny.”
And all at once the weird spell is broken and Hawks can feel all the blood in his body that wasn’t sure where to go, all surface to his face at an alarming speed, leaving him feeling so embarrassed and almost dizzy. “Ughh, stop!!” He shoves his hands over his face. “That was awful, Dabi!” Hawks whines muffledly into his hands, kicking his feet up and down as if violently moving his body will somehow rid him of these emotions.
Dabi, still laughing, replies, “This is your game, Hawks,” laughter dying out, “Your janky ass game.”
“Ugghhh.” Hawks groans letting his feather grab a new card at the same time the alarm starts beeping from the timer.
He immediately slides off and situates himself in the same spot as before. Avoiding eye contact and focusing all of his attention on the card in front of him, he reads, “What’s your least favorite position?”, and slumps his shoulders.
Dabi snickers at his suffering.
Hawks sighs, “I don’t know… I don’t have a solid answer– but it’d probably suck to be shoved against a wall. That’d hurt my wings like a bitch and probably take all the fun out of it.” Hawks glances at Dabi and then reaches over to shove a new card in his hands, not wanting to dwell on this for too long. Lest Dabi put two and two together about Hawks being a complete and utter virgin.
Dabi takes it from him, and as if the universe has it completely out for Hawks, Dabi reads, “How did you lose your virginity?”
Hawks squeaks, hiding behind his hands again, wishing he had his hero coat with the high collar to duck under.
“...I haven’t,” Dabi resigns, causing Hawks to openly stare at him, letting his hands fall. “At least not in a way I want to count.” He glances at his lap, looking like the card just sobered him up in a way Hawks may never know.
Not liking that look on Dabi’s face, Hawks, in his now more than a little tipsy state, blurts out, “I haven’t either.”
Dabi startles and looks at him, “You. Number two hero, Hawks. Have never had sex with anyone?” He raises his eyebrows in question, or annoyance, Hawks can’t really tell.
Hawks brings his shoulders up to his ears, in both embarrassment and defense. “No.” He glares. “I hardly have any time to kill, and it’s not like I have the ability to hook up with someone random because of how recognizable I am. They’d probably spill to the first person willing to listen. Plus, how do I know it wouldn’t be taking advantage of them because of the weird power dynamic? It’s just never worked out for me.” Hawks shakes his head resignedly, letting his anger dissipate. “There’s always so much other shit to worry about, that by the time I really started craving affection, I had nowhere to fit it in.” He mumbles the last part.
Dabi purses his lips and waits a little bit to respond, “Alright, sorry. Didn’t mean to come at you like that.” He sighs. “Just figured someone like you would have it all, or whatever.”
Hawks lets out a deprecating laugh, “Yeah, well, grass isn’t always greener on the other side or however that saying goes.”
“Yeah, guess not…” He says softly, glancing down. When he looks back up at Hawks, he has a different look on his face, one that Hawks hasn’t seen enough to really recognize, but all the same, makes Hawks feel like it’s meaningful.
“I tried, once, to blow a guy for a place to stay. It left me feeling so disgusted with myself, though, that I refused to ever do it again. I burned him and his place down when he tried to get me to do it again…” Dabi takes a deep breath in, pausing. “I dunno. I know a lot of people do that type of thing for a living, but I either found the wrong guy, or it jus’ wasn’t my thing. Kinda ruined the idea of sex for me for a while. Didn’t even really have much time to think about it, either. From always being on the run and all,” Dabi finishes with an obvious frown and a faraway look.
Hawks could feel his eyes start to glisten, quickly blinking the tears back, not wanting to upset Dabi at what he’s sure the man would mistake as pity. When in reality, Hawks feels nothing but respect and sympathy for him. For all he’s lived through that Hawks can never fully understand. For all he’s lost.
“Life fuckin’ sucks man,” Hawks tries to lighten the mood, not really knowing what else to say. But knowing that anything he could say wouldn’t make things better anyway. Wouldn’t be able to take away Dabi’s pain and harrowing experiences.
“Sure does,” Dabi replies with a light smile and a shake of his head. “Your turn,” He nods at the piles, trying to move on from the subject.
“Right,” Hawks reaches over, and groans (maybe a bit dramatically, but Dabi doesn’t have to know) almost immediately at the humiliating damn thing, “Most embarrassing time you got turned on.”
Dabi chuckles, “Ohoho, birdie, do tell.”
Things at least feel less solemn as they just did, now that Hawks has picked a new card, but damn, does being open about stupid shit like this still suck. “Ugh. Fine. I’ll just lay it all out for you, okay?”
Dabi raises his eyebrows with a smirk and inclines his head as if to say go on.
If not for the drinks he’s downed, and all the vulnerable shit they’ve already done tonight, Hawks probably would not have been so completely forthcoming with this answer. But alas.
“I was dealing with my stupid bird hormones in early spring, like I usually do. Except it was my first time ever doing hero work while dealing with them. So, I wasn’t really aware of how easy it is to get a boner from adrenaline when you’re already turned on.” Hawks flops backwards, lying on his back. “I was fighting this guy, and he was refusing to go down, had some weird quirk or somethin’, I don’t even remember. All I fucking remember was trying to get him in cuffs without exposing my boner— to both him and all the people watching.”
Hawks exhales loudly, “The most embarrassing thing ever. I’m so fucking glad no one noticed or my career would’ve been over. I would’ve never shown myself in public again,” he drags a hand down his face, feeling embarrassed just talking about it.
“And now I always have to be careful during that time of the year. Which always gets me shit from my handlers because “Hawks, heroes never take breaks, you need to put on a strong front for the public” and then I have to bitch back about how “BIRDS HAVE MATING SEASONS!!”. So fucking awful.” Hawks rants, finishing with a theatrical groan.
He shortly snaps out of his rumination of all those awful and humiliating conversations by Dabi’s sincere, unabashed laughter.
“Hey! Don’t make fun of me!” Hawks grumbles, pushing himself to sit up again.
“I’m not.” Dabi shakes his head fondly, letting his laughter die down. “It’s hard not to laugh at all of that, though, Hawks. That’s pretty fucking funny.”
Hawks shoves his head in his hands and bodily shakes back and forth, whining at the teasing.
“Also, what the fuck? You have a mating season?” Dabi ribs lightheartedly.
“Ngghhh. Pick a card, Dabi.” Hawks pleads, refusing to come out of his hand shield just yet, while all this attention is on him.
“Whatever,” Dabi huffs and shuffles around. “What attracted you to your partner in the beginning?”
Hawks lets his hands drop to openly peer at Dabi. Is he going to drink? Dabi is never forthcoming about shit, especially if it has to do with how he feels about someone.
Dabi rolls his eyes at Hawks’ staring. “Quit that, pigeon.” He closes his eyes and tilts back as if he’s rolling his thoughts around inside his head. “I think, besides the obvious of the Number 2 reaching out to me about being interested in villainy, I’d say that it’s obvious you aren’t what you portray on the surface. You have this perfect mask and demeanor you wear, that you obviously want to appear natural, but I could tell something was off from the start. As if there was something inside you – whether that be the real you or what – right underneath the surface. That always attracted my attention to you, I’ve always craved to look inside,” He makes eye contact with Hawks, “I still don’t really understand you, but I think tonight is the most at ease I’ve ever felt with you. That mask isn’t so prevalent. So malevolent.”
Hawks can’t help but shiver at the look Dabi gives him. Oh, if only you knew, Dabi. If only you knew what I’m meant to keep away. My burdens to bear, and mine alone....
“Wow, you’re really observant, eh, hot stuff?” Hawks jokes, trying to change the now serious mood for the life of him. Scared that he may just open himself up for Dabi to see all– should things keep going in this direction.
Dabi loudly exhales, looking almost disappointed, “Whatever, jackass, your turn.”
“Ouch, so cruel,” Hawks dramatically enthuses, clutching his chest as his feather grabs his card. “Take off an article of clothing that your partner tells you to…” He trails off with wide eyes, slowly looking up at Dabi.
Dabi squints at him, “Hmm. Take off your underwear.”
“Haaa– WHAT?! MY UNDERWEAR?!” Hawks loudly panics.
“Yeah, go on.”
“For– forreal??”
“What? You really don’t want to?”
“Um, No?! That’s so humiliating, Dabi!! Please pick something else!” He whines.
“Fine, buzzkill, take off your shirt then,” Dabi waves his hand.
Hawks feels like he’s ready to faint, but he does as Dabi demands and strips his shirt, careful not to snag it on his feathers.
He feels so exposed, even though it's just his bare chest showing, and not his whole dick like Dabi originally asked.
Hawks has never been with anyone in a sexual manner, and he can’t help but feel that underlying layer of intent, of what it meant for Dabi to want Hawks to strip bare for him. Can’t help but wonder if Dabi wants him.
Hawks looks up at Dabi and gulps when he notices his unashamed ogling at Hawks’ exposed chest and back. His exposed downy feathers that sprout up in little spots underneath his wings that nobody besides his handlers even know about. His nipples that have obviously hardened at the abrupt exposure to the cooler air. God, feeling Dabi’s eyes on him like this, stokes flames deep inside of him that he never even knew were there.
He unconsciously licks his lips, anticipating something– even if he’s not sure of what that something is.
Dabi starts to reach his hand out towards Hawks’ back, before he almost snaps himself out of it and clears his throat. “Sorry,” he snatches his hand back to his lap. “I didn’t realize your feathers trailed down like that. They look really soft,” he shyly mumbles.
At the sincere curiosity in Dabi’s voice, Hawks can’t help but offer, “You can feel them if you want. I don’t really think they’re much different from my regular feathers outside of them not telepathically coming off.” He shifts so his back is facing a little more towards Dabi.
Dabi quietly gasps, “Are you sure? I know you said you didn’t like people touching ‘em…”
“Yeah, I don’t mind if you do it,” he says with a small smile.
If Hawks had any common sense he would mind that Dabi, the biggest arsonist in Japan, wants to touch his vulnerable feathers with his hand that can turn aflame at any moment. But, Hawks has no sense when those deep blue eyes look at him like that.
Dabi reaches over slowly and strokes his downy feathers with his fingertipsf, grazing over them lightly before pressing down a little harder. Probably so he can properly feel them.
But, as soon as Dabi applies the smallest amount of pressure, Hawks can’t stop himself from puffing up his wings, causing Dabi to startle and take his hand away.
“Ahh, sorry.” Hawks says, all embarrassed at the implications of that happening– hoping Dabi doesn’t actually know what it means. “My control isn’t as good right now, you don’t have to stop if you don’t want to.”
Dabi awkwardly coughs looking anywhere but at Hawks, “Nah, ‘s fine. Wanna hand me the sake?”
“Oh. Right. The round is over.” Hawks shoots off a feather, “Here.”
Hawks lets Dabi fill their cups again, and this time Hawks makes sure to clink their glasses before they down them, smirking at Dabi’s forced and fake annoyance.
It seems each time they drink, the alcohol keeps going down easier and easier– Hawks is barely bothered by that one. And with each sip, Hawks’ walls and control get smaller and smaller.
Knowing the drill by now, Dabi grabs a card from the next stack and whistles, “Whew, getting down to business. Give your partner a hickey.”
Hawks stiffens, “Forreal?”
“Why would I lie about that? See for yourself,” Dabi shoves the card into his face.
Hawks bites the inside of his cheek and exhales out his nerves, after confirming that yes the card does in fact say that. “Alright… how do you want me?”
Dabi purses his lips, “Mmn stay like that. Can I sit on your lap for easy access?”
Hawks simply nods, feeling as though no words would even be able to come out.
Dabi shifts around and then swings his leg over Hawks’ sprawled-out lap, practically straddling him. He brings an arm around Hawks’ neck, and trails his hand up into the bottom of Hawks’ hair, letting it sink into the fluff and hidden downy feathers.
Dabi takes his other hand and places it on Hawks’ jaw, using it to tilt his face to the side a bit, for easier access to his neck.
His face looks both concentrated and shy, and Hawks can feel Dabi’s breathing quickening, occasionally feeling the small puffs of air on his own face, due to how close the two of them are right now.
“This okay?” Dabi mumbles, locking eyes with Hawks.
“Yeah,” Hawks breathes out and flutters his eyes closed, readying himself for what’s to come.
He can sense Dabi leaning his face in closer through his feathers, so it’s not startling when the man’s parted lips press into the side of his neck.
Dabi lets his tongue caress the skin trapped inside of his lips, and then he sucks down. It starts off light, but it gradually becomes more intense, and Hawks can feel his breathing getting heavy. It doesn’t feel as erotic as some people make it out to be, but knowing that it’s Dabi pressing his lips onto Hawks’ bare neck, sitting straddled on his lap, leaving a mark for anyone to see – and the fact that he’s more than a little tipsy, too — definitely adds to the experience tenfold.
Dabi releases his neck with an obscene mouthy noise. He takes a couple of breaths, not moving far from where his lips just were, and Hawks thinks he’s done, until Dabi leans back in and licks along the spot he just sucked on, diving back in again, this time with a small bite to his sucking.
Hawks can’t stop the small moan from leaving his lips when Dabi adds his teeth to the equation. That felt fucking good, and Hawks can’t help but want more.
He brings his hands into Dabi’s hair and pushes his head down onto his neck more, but instead of giving him what he wants, Dabi releases his mouth from Hawks’ neck, pressing against Hawks’ hands, leaning back.
Hawks immediately lets go, unsure if he made a mistake. But Dabi only leans back further and smirks at Hawks, “Don’t get ahead of yourself. The card only said to leave a hickey, Hawks.”
Hawks pouts, “Right. Sorry.”
Dabi softly laughs and disentangles from Hawks’ lap, sitting back down next to him. As Hawks tries to recollect himself from that… experience… Dabi hands Hawks a new card.
Hawks has to close his eyes and take a couple of breaths before he can even focus on this. The combination of the extra shot, on top of the whirlwind of emotions he just experienced really got to Hawks.
“How often do you masturbate?” Hawks is grateful for the less intense card, due to the fact that they already kind of spoke about this earlier. It gives him some more time to properly regulate.
“Easy. Not often at all,” He obnoxiously smiles at Dabi, already seeing the eyeroll coming before Dabi even does it.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. We get it, Number 2 never gets his dick wet. My turn.”
“Hey!” Hawks squawks back at him, but Dabi totally ignores his protest. Choosing to carry on.
“Do you have any secret kinks…?” Dabi trails off, thoughtfully.
Hawks gives him time to think, which also gives himself time to totally cool off. He’s good, he’s great, never been better.
“Well, I dunno what to call this,” Dabi laughs to himself, bringing Hawks back to the present. “But, one time I was jerkin’ it– I had been really pent up for whatever reason and didn’t care enough to wait for everyone else to be asleep. In the middle of it though, I heard the boss outside my door, looking for me. Can’t lie, lowkey turned me on even more knowing he could walk in any second. If that makes me an exhibitionist then so be it,” Dabi drolls on with a stupid smirk on his face raising his hands in a ‘you got me’ gesture.
Hawks can’t help but laugh at Dabi’s unserious, yet extremely wild answer. “Jeez, did you end up getting caught?” He teases.
Dabi, still smirking, replies, “That’s for me to know and you to find out, birdie.” He winks and gestures at the cards.
Hawks fondly shakes his head and reads the new card, the smile disappearing from his face completely at the words. “K-kiss your partner passionately… like you see in the movies… for a minute.”
“Fucking hell,” Dabi barks out a laugh and shakes his head, “Alright, lay it on me.”
Hawks whisks the card away with his feathers and uses them to get the timer in position. He shifts so he’s facing Dabi, sitting on his knees.
Having never kissed anyone, he can quite literally only kiss Dabi how he’s seen it done on TV. So, Hawks does his best to reenact a kiss that stuck out to him more than others.
He reaches over to Dabi’s cheek and tilts his head with his hand, so that he’s facing Hawks.
Hawks clicks the button on the timer with his feather and leans in so they’re nose to nose. He presses his lips onto Dabi’s lightly and briefly before pulling back an inch. He can’t believe Dabi is his first kiss. But yet, he’s so glad that he is.
Hawks tilts his head for easier access and presses back against Dabi’s lips, this time deepening the kiss and using more pressure. When Dabi lets out the smallest of groans, that only Hawks’ feathers barely pick up on, Hawks can’t help but kiss Dabi with fervor. Pressing in more urgently and kissing, kissing, kissing.
Hawks doesn’t think he’s ever done something more passionately than this. Their lips interlocking feels so fucking right. Like they were made to do this, and only this.
Hawks lets his hand that’s laid on Dabi’s jaw travel up to cup around Dabi’s ear, his fingers splaying into Dabi’s hair, and his thumb caressing his cheek. He uses his other hand to trail up Dabi’s arm as they continue to kiss. Hawks can’t get enough of Dabi, he needs to feel him, needs to become one with him.
When Dabi brings his warm hands up to caress Hawks’ naked back, Hawks moans in the back of his throat– loudly. That was exactly what Hawks was craving. The feel of Dabi’s skin on his own. And fuck, if it doesn’t feel nice.
He still wants more though, he tries to press deeper onto Dabi as if that will get him what he needs— but he’s rudely interrupted by the fucking timer.
They break apart quickly, both startled by the loud noise. Hawks presses a hand to his face and groans, using his feathers to violently shut the thing off.
“Yeah,” Dabi breathes out, his breath quick and heavy. He appears to have been just as affected by it all as Hawks was, which makes Hawks feel somewhat better.
“Fuck,” Hawks whines and flops backwards, sprawling out on the floor, trying to catch his breath. Everything feels dizzy and he doesn’t know whether it’s the alcohol finally kicking in, the way his blood doesn’t know where to travel in his body right now, or both.
“Yeah,” Dabi breathes out again and softly laughs.
They both kind of just exist for a little while. The only noises being their sporadic breathing and the rain hitting the roof above them.
Eventually, Hawks sits back up and bites his lip looking at Dabi. “What now?” He asks shyly.
Dabi looks unsure for a second before a smirk overtakes his face, “Well, we still have to finish the game of course.” He grabs more sake to pour into their glasses. “We have one more card each,” Dabi goads and promptly downs his last drink.
Hawks sighs and follows suit, shaking his head a little from the drink. Shit, there’s no way he’s not drunk at this point. He feels his vision delaying, and feels like he’s swaying a bit. Hawks can’t remember the last time he was this fucked up, and by the looks of it, Dabi’s not too far behind with his goofy grin.
Hawks staggers a bit as he leans forward to grab a card for Dabi from the last pile, righting himself at the last second. “I’m gonna go first this time.”
Dabi laughs, “Yeah, okay. Whatever you want, birdie.”
“ ‘kay, thanks,” Hawks grins. He holds the card up to his face, trying to focus on the words in the paper, “Strip your partner in under 20 seconds,” Hawks reads unsurely.
“Damn,” Dabi dramatically pouts. “You get to strip me, but I don’t get to take off your underwear. How is that fair?”
Hawks scrunches his eyebrows, worriedly, “Well, if you don’t want to we can draw a different card, I don’t want to do anything to make you uncomfortable, Dabi.”
“I didn’t say that.” Dabi scoffs and crosses his arms defensively, “I only said it’s unfair. But go right ahead. Just be careful of my staples.”
Hawks bites his lip, “If you’re sure…” He trails off as he resets the awful timer, knowing with his feathers he has an obvious advantage and is only really setting it for the formality.
“Are you ready?” Hawks asks Dabi.
“Yeah, go for it.” He responds nonchalantly, then yelps as Hawks goes at him with all the feathers his drunken mind can control at the moment.
He peels all of Dabi’s clothes off almost at once, manhandling his limbs where they’re needed to go as he does so. Hawks lucked out in the sense that Dabi’s wearing Hawks’ clothes, and not Dabi’s usual emo getup. Hawks may not have been able to shimmy the tight clothing off that quickly while being mindful of the staples. But, with his loose fluffy clothes, it’s a breeze.
Dabi’s face flushes redder than Hawks thought it could ever get as he sits there sprawled out and utterly naked for Hawks to see.
Hawks inhales sharply as his eyes rove over Dabi’s body. Catching on all the staples, the patchwork scars. On all the exposed parts of Dabi that Hawks never thought he’d ever see. All the blemishes and little nicks he’s probably gotten from life on the streets. Hawks’ eyes completely stop in their tracks, though, on Dabi’s half-hard dick.
“Dabi—” Hawks is about to question when, once again, the timer interrupts with its alarm. He mutters out curses as he goes to shut it off, but the mood is once again spoiled.
Dabi takes the opportunity to quickly grab a new card to read, seemingly wanting to change the subject and avoid any more of Hawks’ rapt attention.
For once, Dabi finally looks affected when reading the card. “Grind on each other, and the first to cave loses.”
They’re both quiet for a minute, the energy around them charged with nerves and anticipation and want.
Hawks clears his throat and briefly licks his lips, almost at a loss for what to say. “What, um… What does caving look like in this context?”
Dabi stares down at his lap and purses his lips, “I dunno, what does grinding usually lead up to, Hawks?” He glances up at Hawks with his eyebrows raised. “Can you put the rest together or do you need me to spell it out for you?” He grumbles and looks back at his lap. He starts tugging at a staple on his thigh– and maybe if Hawks wasn’t so inebriated, it would’ve been obvious to him that Dabi is actually feeling just as nervous as he is.
He grabs Dabi’s fiddling hand and tugs it away from his leg. He hears Dabi’s breath stutter and they lock eyes.
“Don’t do that,” Hawks gently scolds, squeezing their interlocked hands together tight before letting go. “I get the gist of what you meant, heh, sorry,” He glances away and bites his lip, feeling awkward.
“Well?” Dabi asks suddenly, breaking the tension. “Are we gonna finish the game or what?”
Hawks’ eyes widen, glancing at Dabi’s face. “Are you sure?”
“I’ve been at half mast for practically the whole night, Hawks. How much surer can I be?” Dabi rasps.
“Right,” Hawks says, unable to hold back the small smile that overtakes his lips at Dabi’s reciprocated desire.
Hawks shuffles so he’s sitting in front of Dabi. He leans towards the man and nudges at his shoulders so he lays down on his back, on top of all the messed up blankets and pillows. Hawks follows suit now hovering over him. He cages Dabi’s head with his hands, and is fitted in between Dabi’s spread legs. “This okay?” He whispers.
“Yeah,” Dabi breathes back, bringing his arms to wrap around Hawks’ back. He glances down though, and smirks, “You gonna take your underwear off, after all, Number Two?”
Hawks breathily laughs, “Guess you win after all, huh?” and uses his feathers to shimmy the rest of his own fuzzy clothes off.
“Yeah, guess I do,” Dabi smiles once Hawks resituates himself on top of Dabi.
Dabi uses one of his hands to quickly pull Hawks’ face down to his and kisses him. As if now that they’re finally on the same page, the same desire burning through them both, Dabi can no longer hold himself back, needing any form of contact he can get.
It starts off slow but with all the physical contact, and all of the fucking buildup all night between them, Hawks quickly intensifies their kisses and lets his body press down onto Dabi’s, causing Hawks’ now very prevalent boner to grind against Dabi’s own.
Hawks breaks apart with a gasp. He shifts to more easily rub against Dabi, chasing whatever friction he can get. Diving down to capture Dabi’s lips back into his own, kissing him with as much fervor as he can. Hoping that the amount of want, desire, and other mushy feelings Hawks can’t decipher in his drunken state, transfer through from the way in which he passionately kisses Dabi.
Dabi drags his hand into Hawks’ hair and grips hard at the roots, causing Hawks’ wings to puff up, again. Dabi trails his other hand down to rest in between the two of them.
Dabi breaks apart their kiss with a stuttered exhale, “Can I?” He asks Hawks, trailing the hand along Hawks’ thigh and lower pelvis, conveying with action what he doesn’t want to speak with words.
“Yes, yes, please do,” Hawks pleads, nodding vigorously, diving down to leave a trail of kisses along Dabi’s jaw, and neck, and wherever just feels right in that moment.
They both moan when Dabi grips their dicks together in his hand and oh how the added pressure feels incredible.
They don’t even need any lube or anything with the amount of pre leaking out of them both, enough to add to the slide of Dabi’s hand just right as he starts jerking them off together.
Hawks can barely keep himself composed as the pressure builds and builds. He can’t even concentrate on kissing Dabi properly anymore, his lips just breathing heavily onto the scarred neck.
“Feels so good,” He breathes out, pressing his forehead onto Dabi’s shoulder, so all he has to focus on is the feeling of Dabi’s hand sliding back and forth. Of Dabi’s dick twitching occasionally right against Hawks’. Of the breathy noises Dabi’s been letting slip out that Hawks doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to forget.
“Yeah,” Dabi pants. “Fuck, ‘m close.”
“Me too, ah,” Hawks whines, thrusting his hips in tandem with Dabi’s hand. “S’ close, Dabs, please, please, please,” He begs, not even sure what he’s asking for.
Dabi seems to catch on though, as he ups the speed and grip of his hand just right and tilts his head to bite down onto Hawks’ neck with that same suctioning pressure as earlier.
Hawks all but screams as he finally feels the rippling of his orgasm hit. His cock twitching with burst after burst of cum. Dabi doesn’t slow his pace down until he reaches his own orgasm– hearing the breathy moan that leaves Dabi’s mouth as he does, makes Hawks scared he’s gonna get hard all over again.
Dabi’s hand slows to a stop just as Hawks feels it’s getting too much. Hawks picks his head back up to kiss the blissed-out face underneath him.
Their kiss is more languid and sloppy than the ones earlier, but it’s no less wonderful.
When they eventually break apart for air, Dabi scrunches his face up, “Can one of your feathers bring over a towel or something? My hand is covered in drying jizz.”
“Eep! Yes, sorry Dabi,” Hawks nods, shoving his head back down into Dabi’s shoulder to hide, feeling embarrassed for some reason.
Dabi laughs as he grabs the towel, “It‘s fine, birdbrain,” he fondly responds.
Dabi motions for Hawks to scooch off of him, so he rolls over to lay next to Dabi resting on his side, facing the man as he cleans himself off.
When he’s done, Hawks whisks it away to his laundry basket in the other room and can’t help the giggle coming from his mouth.
Dabi smiles and gives him a look, as he shifts onto his side as well, now both facing each other with goofy looks on their faces. “What’s so funny?”
Hawks attempts to shrug, “I dunno, ‘m just happy, I guess…” he trails off.
“Yeah, a bunch of alcohol and a good orgasm ‘ll do that to you,” he snickers. And then fully laughs when Hawks bats at him with a wing.
“Ugh, so crude, Dabs,” Hawks whines, unable to stop himself from laughing alongside Dabi.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever–” he breaks off with a dramatic yawn. “I’m tired, are we camping out here for the night?”
“I guess so, I don’t really feel like getting up, most of my blankets and pillows are already here,” Hawks responds, trailing any spare pillows and blankets that got scattered away from them throughout the night, back over to them.
“Works for me,” Dabi hums, and grabs at the spare items to make himself more comfortable.
Hawks does the same, making a conscious effort not to stray any further from Dabi, wanting to bask in any physical contact he can get, for as long as he can.
Dabi notices what Hawks is doing though, and fondly rolls his eyes, lifting an arm, “Come here, y’ idiot.”
Hawks smiles and feels like he just won the lottery, immediately taking the offer and situating himself comfortably pressing into Dabi. “Thanks,” He mumbles.
“Mmn,” Dabi responds, cozying up to Hawks as well. Gliding his hand along Hawks’ lower back in a comforting motion. “G’night, Hawks.”
“Good night, Dabi.” Hawks smiles, letting his eyes close and body relax. Feeling utterly at peace, and ready for sleep, for once in his life.
So, it’s not long after that his breathing evens out and he does nod off.
…
…
…
“Nggh,” Dabi groans, half asleep. He’s stirred awake by an incessant vibrating noise, coming from somewhere nearby. He blindly pats around until his hand finds the source of the noise, squinting his eyes as the light shines on his face from his phone.
He has 25 notifications, all from Toga. He doesn’t even feel like reading through them at this hour.
He really needs to fucking pee, though, so he shimmies out of Hawks’ hold, careful not to disturb the sleeping hero, and tiptoes to where he knows the bathroom is, using his still vibrating phone for light.
Once he flushes and lays back down, cozying right back up to Hawks, he figures he should probably say something to Toga to shut her up.
For some reason — maybe from the residual joy he felt at the picture he got of Hawks off guard earlier, or maybe from the leftover alcohol still buzzing in his system — he gets the urge to tell her to fuck off by sharing a photo of what he’s doing. Hoping that seeing the calm and sleepy hero will be enough to get her to leave him alone, so he can go back to sleep.
He opens up the most recent notification and types out ‘buzz off, I’m sleeping with number two’ (but in actuality, it probably ends up saying something along the lines of ”buzZ off, i’m sleeping with nmub3r twi”). He then snaps a blurry picture of Hawks pressed up against him, making sure you can see Dabi’s angry glare in the photo. He hits send, and then promptly shuts his phone off all the way, flinging it where he can’t see it. Dabi closes his eyes and almost immediately falls back asleep.
(Dabi accidentally ended up sharing that to Twitter, rather than in a private text message, mistaking her notifications for texts rather than tweets. Although his one follower is Toga Himiko, and the only things he uses his account for are to respond to her incessant tags and stalk Endeavor’s account (and maybe get into arguments with obnoxious fanboys), for some reason his photo seemed to have blown up. Maybe because of the fact that although the caption claims to be Hawks, and the picture kind of looks like Hawks– it’s not fully possible to tell if it’s him or some weirdo trying to pose as Hawks. Along with the fact that it is almost irrefutably Dabi in the front of the photo.
The amount of people to find and share it overnight makes the post go viral, and Hawks may or may not wake up to hundreds of messages and news articles talking about whether or not Hawks is in some steamy affair with a man who appears to look like the LOV’s arsonist.)
