Chapter Text
And here is how they got into this crazy situation. It all started with a tornado, as always.
Recap (10 hours before):
"Fuck, Kate, it's a big one!" Tyler shouted through the car window over the whistling wind.
The tornado was just over 5 kilometres away. Tyler was buzzing with adrenaline to finally chase the devil of a tornado.
Kate was still fastening the trailer full of barrels "Wait just a moment, I have to affix the trailer!"
The tornado was moving faster than anticipated "C'mon Kate, we're gonna be late! I have a feeling this one's special!"
It was one of the biggest ones Tyler had ever seen, and he was ready to chase it.
Kate finally fastened the barrels and quickly got into the car. "Go! Go!"
The tyres screeched as the car took off toward the hurricane. As they got closer Tyler thought the tornado looked beautiful and nicely formed, but there was something odd about it...
"Kate, does the tornado look odd to you?" He questioned his companion as they got closer and closer.
Kate studied the tornado with her eyes "I don't think so?"
Tyler shook off the feeling of shivers running up his spine. "Right," His senses were messing with him today.
"Pull over here!" Kate directed Tyler, as they came to a sudden halt. The tornado was moving quickly toward their car.
Tyler turned on the drills and was waiting to engage the button to stop this hurricane. Once the hurricane came near them, Tyler pressed the button to release the chemicals from the barrels.
The chemical mix got sucked into the tornado, but nothing was happening.
At once, a flash lit up the tornado. "What the fuck!" Tyler watched in horror and bewilderment as the tornado storm? moved closer toward them.
"What's happening?!" Kate was on the verge of a panic attack, getting flashbacks of the incident that changed her life.
"Kate!"
Tyler knew that there was a chance they wouldn't survive, and he made an impulsive decision to lunge across to the seat where Kate was having a panic attack; he hugged her, hoping to pour his feelings of comfort and love into what could be the last moments of their life.
"Tyler, I love you!" Those were the last words Kate cried out, and Tyler heard before the car shook and unconsciousness took them.
