Mokele-Mbembe
Monarch Designation: Titanus Mokele-Mbembe
Aliases: Mama Longneck, "Gertie"
Location: The Congolese jungle
Appearance: Mokele Mbembe is a brontosaurus-like titan of immense size who towers over even Godzilla. She appears much like brontosaurs from old movies, with an arched back and neck, and a dragging tail, and her skin is a blue-grey color. Her hide is as tough and sturdy as Godzilla's, and most conventional weaponry would not harm her.
Profile: In 1928, famed professor George E. Challenger led an expedition into the Amazon jungle and his team made a marvelous discovery- a hidden plateau populated by dinosaurs and other prehistoric organisms. After many perilous encounters with these beasts, the team escaped the plateau, and they brought a great prize with them back to London. A live brontosaurus.
This great discovery turned into an epic disaster. Once it had arrived in London, the brontosaurus broke loose and went on a rampage in the city streets. It culminated in the animal escaping up the Thames and out to sea after the London Bridge collapsed under its weight. And soon afterward, the story of Challenger bringing a live dinosaur to London was dismissed as a hoax by all who had not seen the beast with their own eyes, and the story was lost to history for nearly a century.
However, the brontosaur's journey had only just begun. After escaping England and swimming to the open sea, she was eventually swept away by the current until she ended up in a land that was similar to her home. The continent of Africa. She would make herself at home and journey deeper into the jungles at this new land's heart.
It was in the depths of the Congo that the dinosaur would encounter something that changed her destiny and her very being. A shimmering blue rock lay in the jungle depths, an object that had fallen there in a distant age. The object originated from planet Neptune; a world that was the nexus point for a greater multiverse beyond this universe.
The dinosaur's animal curiosity got the best of her, and she approached the object. A blue light emanated from the object, and the dinosaur found herself infused with a tiny fragment of the Blue Planet's power, and she heard the call of the great mega-titan Thalassa in faraway Neptune. The energy made the dinosaur much larger and more powerful than before, and a new titan was born.
Mokele-Mbembe has only a rudimentary understanding of her purpose. She watches over the Neptunian object and guards it, for it also has the power to open the path to other universes, and it also keeps an ancient horror beneath the Earth at slumber. In the coming decades, Godzilla would take notice of Mokele-Mbembe, as he had his own history with the object she protected, and the two would develop a special kinship not unlike what he had with Mothra.
On top of all this, Mokele-Mbembe did not come to Africa alone. She carried offspring in her body, and after her transformation, she laid an egg containing an offspring with a special power. When the call of False King Ghidorah temporarily drove Mokele-Mbembe mad and sent her own a rampage, the whole of humanity became aware of her existence, and soon prying eyes like those from Apex and Alan Jonah's group may take special interest in Mokele-Mbembe's offspring and the power she holds.
