Chapter Text
“Lieutenant, You need to wake up.”
“Nnnnnghh…” Hank rolled over, and Connor immediately pulled Hank back to face him. “Leave me alone, asshole.”
“Lieutenant. If you do not wake up within the next 3 minutes, we will be late. We must leave soon.”
“God…” Hank pushed Connor away. “Fine- Fine, jesus. Fuck, I’m tired.”
“I’m pleased you made the correct choice.”
“Yeah, yeah, sure. Get out of my room, weirdo.” And Connor obeyed.

“Can’t believe some karen called the police out here to this shithole. And just for noises? It’s an abandoned apartment, what’d you expect?” Hank grumbled, tapping the steering wheel slightly to the song blasting in the car.
“The woman who called in the suspicious noise wasn’t named Karen.” Connor replied, contentedly staring at the passing houses. “I believed it was Jennife-”
“Connor, its not- whatever. We’re here, anyway.” Hank and Connor climbed out of the car, heading towards a dilapidated apartment building. Just as Hank reached for the doorknob, a loud, muffled whirring sound emanated from the building. The vibrations could be felt in the pair’s bones. “.... maybe she wasn’t overreacting by calling us in. Stay behind me.”
“Of course, Lieutenant.” Hank pushed open the door, stepping cautiously inside. They slowly moved around the first floor. “Hank. I found multiple boxes labeled with Cyberlife’s logo.”
“Really? Not surprised they’re behind something weird like this.” Hank scoffed. “Let’s move up to the next flo-”
Before Hank could finish, the same whirring sound tore through the house, more aggressive and joined by a grinding that seemingly wasn’t supposed to be there, a voice above cried out before large cracks opened up in the ceiling.
“Shit- Connor, get down-!” Hank pushed Connor out of the room, trying to get him out before the second floor collapsed, but it was too late, and the ceiling crushed them.
