Chapter Text
Till is still standing there as the rain pours downs, shrouded in darkness and shocked upon all beliefs as he stares at Ivan’s slackened frame.
Time seemed to stop for the man’s grief, halting its progression to allow Till to wallow in the overwhelming he was currently racked with.
There was so much blood.
Till didn’t even know that the human body had this much blood.
Teal eyes flick from the puddle of crimson pooling at his feet, then to the body it was leaking from.
Ivan’s body.
Ivan’s body, Ivan’s blood. .
Ivan was..
Till can’t handle the thought.
This was a change too drastic to come to terms with in just a moment's brush.
Till can’t help but drop to his knees, struggling with himself as he lingers over Ivan’s body, raising a hand to reach for the collapsed and deceased body of the only constant in his life.
“Ivan..?”
There's no point in saying his name.
Till knows this better than anyone.
But that doesn’t stop him from trying again, and again, repeating the raven-haired man’s name like a broken record.
Till can’t stop the visceral sob that shoots from his throat when Ivan doesn’t respond.
“Ivan please.. You can’t leave me. ”
‘ I Need You. ’
Till isn’t sure where these emotions are coming from, but he draws no attention to them as they ooze out of him in the form of tears, body trembling as he sobs endlessly into the dampen and crimson performance clothes of his best friend.
Halfway through the midst of crying, a laugh comes from the body he was currently sobbing on, and the ashen can’t help but pull back when the sound registers in his mind. Wait a damn minute.
Before Till can let his thought process finish, Ivan’s already pulling him down, shocking Till with a kiss as he squeezes him tight.
Till hardly has any time to process what's happening as Ivan kisses him sweetly, keeping his arms latched firmly around the others waist as he laughs into their kiss.
“I would have never guessed you thought so fondly of me, Till”
Ivan teases, merely a croon in his ear, but that doesn’t stop him from flushing; acknowledging the heat in his ears as Ivan continues to dote on him.
“I mean really, who would think that someone like you would!-”
“GOD DAMMIT SHUT UP IVAN!”
Till struggles in Ivan’s hold, embarrasment flaring high when a laugh from their director sounds from the black-out space off stage.
“Alright lovebirds, wrap it up!” Mizi’s jest is what makes the burning in Till’s cheeks run to his neck, embarrassed beyond all belief as Ivan keeps him in place.
He laughs, low and hearty into the crook of Till’s neck, and Till takes that moment of vulnerability to completely free himself from Ivan.
Till stumbles to stand, only to fall back down after slipping on all of the water and fake blood.
As Ivan and Till are ushered off the stage and dried, a part of Till couldn’t help go back to their plot, specifically what it meant.
In another universe, would Ivan really do something like that?
Would he genuinely sacrifice himself for Till, even when in that reality he'd never spared him the loving glance he gave him in this one.
Till hums in thought.
Well, he supposes it makes sense.
With how perfect their relationship is now, it would only make sense that there was one universe where they weren’t meant to be.
Till casts a look to Ivan from the passenger seat of their car, studying him intently before deciding that this Ivan was his. A bit of silly thought, but you can never be too sure.
His gaze travels lower, traveling up his arm to where he was gripping the steering wheel; upon looking Till wouldn’t have batted an eye, but his gaze couldn’t help but linger on the silver band tight around his ring finger.
Till looks away before he can get too deep in thought.
Yep, that was definitely his Ivan.
