Sorry Buddy, But I'm Not Here

Summary:

Set after the Abandoned Factory, before the Nichirinmaru arc (and contains spoilers!)

Katsuya Suou needs to call up Baofu to organise a rendezvous, but his phone is doggedly engaged. Stuck inside on a gloriously sunny day, it's all he can do to make himself comfortable, and occupy himself as he leaves voicemail after voicemail. Hopefully Baofu picks up, or Katsuya might end up saying more than he means to to his endearing voicemail message. After all, hate and love are far closer linked than he knows.

Notes:

got hit by the katsubaos again,,, kind of impressive how this keeps happening but i heard baofu's voicemail message and went wow. the va KILLED it. i should write a fic abt it-

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Katsuya groans as his phone picks up Baofu’s voicemail for what feels like the millionth time, once again engaged on a call. What’s this guy’s problem? They’re supposed to be organising getting on the Nichirinmaru with Maya and the rest of the group, yet he can’t pick up the phone to save his life. God, it’s not like Tatsuzou Sudou and the New World Order are going to orchestrate the end of the world if they don’t hustle. Not at all!

He sighs, and punches in the numbers again, not even bothering to leave a message. Pick up the phone…

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

With a hiss, Katsuya hangs up; with a thump, his phone hits his pillow. When Maya suggested he be the one to get in touch with Baofu, he didn’t expect this to be the reason why. He’s a square-eyed rumour-obsessed tapper, but without an internet connection on his phone, there’s no reason for him to pick up, is there?

Realising he’s going to be here a while, Katsuya sits himself up on his bed, before untying his tie. Might as well make himself more comfortable if he’s going to be trying any more. Carefully glancing out his bedroom door, he verifies nobody else is home, and promptly rids himself of his blazer and pants. Again, comfort goes hand in hand with mindlessly hitting buttons on his phone, and if he’s been taken off the case, he has full days begging to be spent in ways he’d prefer.

And what guy doesn’t like lying on their bed without pants on?

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Still not picking up. There’s really no point in wearing his dress shirt either; he can put it back on if Baofu answers and plans change, but for now, why not relax?

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

This time, Katsuya chuckles tiredly as the message plays, half in exasperation and half with amusement. What a congenial message for such an unsociable guy. ‘Buddy…’ He’s never heard the guy call any of them buddy, and for good reason; it’s far too friendly a word for someone who takes special pleasure in being a cynic. It takes seconds to end the call, but it’s up in the air as to whether his laugh slips past the message beep. Surely not.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

How many one second long messages has he left on Baofu’s answering machine? There’s no way he’s listening to all of these messages once he ‘feels like it;’ he’s absolutely clearing the whole inbox with the press of a button once he realises these all belong to him.

So he decides to play a game.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Pick up your phone.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Pick up your phone, prick.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Pick up your phone, or I’m tracking you down and dragging you to Amano-kun’s apartment.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Buddy? Hah! It’s giving me a kick every time I hear it.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“As well as the apology. How sweet of you to apologise for wasting my time!”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I think next time you see me, you should apologise a little more. Give me an ‘I’m sorry, Suou… next time I’ll pick up the phone the instant you call!’”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Katsuya’s heart quickens pace beat by beat as he jabs and jabs, the inbox never reaching full thanks to all his short messages.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

There’s a strange rush filling his body as he takes pleasure in telling Baofu exactly what he thinks of him, “for making me spend my sunny Tuesday indoors, pressing buttons on a phone trying to reach you!”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Lying on my bed, head on my pillow, almost falling asleep thanks to you not picking up.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Wearing only my briefs, lazing away, but still doing work; unlike someone I know!”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

He realises maybe that detail about what he’s wearing isn’t quite relevant.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Baofu’s voice is quite hypnotic if he’s honest though. It tickles his brain just right, sprinkling warmth to long-dormant brain receptors as Baofu whispers gentle apologies for not being there.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Sorry for not being there with you, buddy?”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“You aren’t listening? I’ll say whatever I please.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Somewhere between the beep of an engaged phone and Baofu’s rugged voice, Katsuya wonders what would change if he was here, his free hand running across his sheets idly as he punches in the numbers. It’s far more interesting than just imagining him sitting at his computer, blithely unaware of his phone. His toothless jabs would have no bite, but they scarcely do even now, without Baofu there to tear them apart.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

And Baofu’s voice, now that he can listen to it by himself, is warm. There’s no malice in his voicemail message, nor any annoyance lying hidden behind his words. Sure, there’s nonchalance in the ‘if I feel like it,’ but it’s kind. Warm, kind, and toothless in kind.

Katsuya’s fingers wobble as he presses the number in once more, practically imprinted into his brain. Why hesitate? Nothing’s going to change.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Nothing changed. He sighs with relief, before realising that’s on the record now. Fuck… but he’s not going to be listening to all of these anyway. It’s fine to grow toothless in a few of them.

“I hate waiting for you.” No sooner than the words leave his lips, his heart flip-flops inside his chest, painfully in agreement. He can’t think for a second, but as soon as he can, heavy breaths shuddering against his lips, he hangs up the phone swiftly.

Oh god; forget being toothless. Cover that up.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“You’re an arsehole, and you look like one too.”

A long, slow breath out as he hangs up; he’s safe.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

But now his heart knocks at his ribs pertinently, and the rush of saying something personal is finally wearing off, leaving his bones dry and empty. Is it bad to want more?

No, move back a step. Why does he want more?

Sitting in silence on the call, all he can think to do is hang up, leaving a voicemail of several heavy breaths. Why does he want this?

There’s something about Baofu sinking his teeth into him that’s normal, that’s expected. For there to be a Baofu with no teeth, gently crooning into his ear about them being buddies, is antithetical to their relationship yet utterly intoxicating. Rather than consuming each other, he preserves their volatile bond in dulcet dial tones.

It’s not just for him. He knows that, but it still tugs his heart all the same.

Maybe thinking about the why will only confuse him more. Maybe he should think about something else.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I wonder what you wear when you’re hacking. I bet you aren’t wearing that gaudy suit… It’s barely suited for walking around outside, looking like a walking wet floor sign. I bet you own a pair of sweatpants. I… hope they aren’t yellow as well.”

Hang up, Detective Dipshit. What the fuck was that. Those were not the thoughts of a charismatic policeman, or the responsible eldest Suou; they were beyond saccharine, stretching into humiliating!

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Just… if you’re really listening, don’t judge me, please.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I feel kind of funny, hearing your voice but not hearing you talk back. Now I want to hear you… hah. I’ve never felt that before. Please call me back.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Don’t mind me. Just going to call again.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Promise it’s not to hear you. It’s… well, it is, a little bit, but I want you to pick up too.”

He hangs up, a nervous pang twinging from his heart. Why does he want to hear him so badly?

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I’ve never really appreciated the way your voice has sounded before. It sounds warm… like I could listen to you talk for a long time. Remember that one time in Parabellum, when you were lecturing Serizawa-kun and Amano-kun on acetaldehyde and alcohol? I… could honestly listen to that again.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“And… you can call me buddy if you want. I can call you something nice too. I… sometimes call my coworkers… buddy too…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Ignore all of that. Didn’t mean to dial you.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Damn… it’s obvious, isn’t it? Heh… I’m not sure why I wanted to say I didn’t mean to dial you. I’ve easily called you enough times that my fingers don’t know any other numbers, but that’s not the point. You’re kind of an arsehole. Pick up the phone.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Baofu… please… do I have to beg?” The world goes quiet, and Katsuya realises what he said. “Fuck, that’s not… not what I meant… call me back, idiot.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I hate you. Please call me back.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Maybe begging is normal when you’re not picking up the phone. I don’t know. You’re on your fucking phone! You’re getting these! Won’t you pick up, please?”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Katsuya whispers a string of curses into the phone before groaning. “You really aren’t picking up, are you. You really aren’t getting these. Why am I fucking bothering.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Hey… I don’t mind admitting this is kind of pathetic, but… if you’re not going to listen…” Katsuya winces, his heart screaming for him to let out the tension suddenly building in his body, the feelings pent up in his heart.

This is such a bad idea; he’s going to do it.

“You’re not that bad. I like you, actually. I like how you stick to your guns, and how you’ve been working for your own justice for all these years… I like you a lot. I hope someday we can work together, and not be at each other’s throats.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

The heady rush from his last message spirals through his bones as he laughs into the receiver, barely able to think as the beeps turn to his voicemail. “God, it feels so good to hear you. I’m almost scared you’ll pick up. Is that weird? I want to hear you but I’m scared of you knowing I c— I’m here…” He inhales slowly, before breathing out, long and hot over the receiver. “Ahhh… I’m scared. I’m so scared. Don’t listen to this. I’m scared.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“—ot scared! I’m not scared! Do not call me a pussy.” With that out of the way, Katsuya sinks into his pillow with fear and exhilaration. “I can almost imagine you’re whispering in my ear like this… is that weird?” He rolls over, nearly smothering his phone in his pillow, but instead muffling himself and dislodging his glasses. Genius. “Daf’s weird… fhhk…” Rolling around again, he settles himself again on his back, phone to his ear and heart thumping into the air. “I’ve got the curtains open. That good day outside is taunting me, but you’ve got no windows in your hideout… You should see it: blue sky, a few clouds, and the tree outside my room— not that you should come to my room, but…” He swallows nervously. “Maybe you should.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Using the beeps to compose himself, he’s now a little less red in the face than at the end of that last message. “It’s just me here right now. Just me in my room, but you could use the kitchen if you clean up. Do you even have a bed in your hideout? I— don’t read too much into that. Fuc—”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“My bed’s comfy. If you ever need a place to stay, you can stay here. I can stay on the couch, or somewhere… I don’t mind. There’s enough room in here for your… well, there might not be enough room for your servers. There is enough sun though! I think you should get some more sun. While we’re off the case, we should get out some more. Being inside isn’t good for you.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I don’t know why I spent so long talking about my bed. Sorry.” Katsuya sighs, before gazing up at the ceiling. “I feel really at ease talking to you like this… but I guess it’s because it’s because I’m talking at you, and there’s no fear of you biting me back if I say something soft. I wish I wasn’t so soft, but… I guess that makes two of us.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I didn’t feel scared when you pointed that gun at me in the factory though. I… trusted you. Was that strange? I couldn’t help it, when you looked straight through me.” Katsuya replays the moment in his mind, before a warm feeling snatches his chest with a tight grip. “The way you looked at me after too… the way you looked so heartbroken, like it was all over, but then smiled because you knew it was going to be okay. I liked that smile.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I wish you could look at me too. Not just talk to me through this voicemail, but look at me through those shades of yours, and… smile.” Thump, thump. “You’ve got a warm smile.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Would it be wrong if I told you everything I try not to say when we’re together?” His fear of Baofu hearing is fading, slowly replacing with a growing desire for… something. Something he pushes away instinctively as a matter of principle, as easily as breathing, and has to truly focus on to bring to the surface. Something that doesn’t help him as a cop or a Suou, but as a man. “I like it when you smirk at me when we’re doing contacts. I like it when you help me with fusion spells, and when you talk shit with Serizawa-kun. I like hearing you be a cynic when everyone knows you’re putting up a front.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Sorry. That kind of slipped out. I… It’s okay. I don’t think you’ll be hearing this anyway, so it doesn’t matter, but I do think you’re… really cute sometimes. I think about when I was younger and I think the kind of guy I was would’ve cared for you. I… I don’t think that’s changed.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

All Katsuya can do was breathe, before hanging up.

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

Again, breathing, before whispering, “I love you.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I really hate you, but I love you.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I want to listen to you all day, until the sun goes down, all to myself on the phone. I wish you were on the other end, or here, or just… on this voicemail forever.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I don’t know what to do. I think I love you.” Tears teem at his eyes, before his voice breaks up a register. “I think I love you.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I…” And then his tears take over his voice, snapping it in two before he can say it again into the fresh voice message. How embarrassing, for a man to be crying into a phone, but where else are his feelings going to go? “I… I…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

In a deathly quiet whisper that barely reaches the receiver, he confesses. “I wish loving didn’t feel as if someone was breaking me open, over and over and over. I wish I didn’t feel it. That’s where I’m truly soft, Saga-san.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Maybe I shouldn’t use your other name without asking. I… don’t know if I’ve earned that right, even in private. Sometimes I say your name in private in ways— haha. Ahhh… I don’t know if I’m ready to admit that.” He exhales shakily, memories rushing around his mind like falling leaves. “I’ve cursed your name, I’ve berated you, I’ve wished you would’ve fallen through a pitfall to hell… but I’ve whispered it to myself when we’re together. I’ve said it like it could break in my mouth, like it’s sugar on my tongue. And… haha. I’m sure you can guess the other ways.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Sometimes I whisper it when I’m alone in the shower. And I— I can already hear you in my mind, saying, ‘of course you’re alone in the shower, idiot,’ but just ignore that, okay?! But I like saying it when I’m… lathering myself up. Ah… I already feel stupid for saying it…” He swallows, before reaching his free hand down to his briefs. “You’ve been on this call for thirty minutes… I’ll bury these messages… I like touching myself when I say your name.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“And I’ve just learned I like touching myself when you’re talking, too.” Briefs now discarded on the floor, Katsuya’s face is flush with heat. “Your voice doesn’t just stroke my brain well, but my dick too… Bet you’d never expect that…” He chuckles nervously, before sighing hotly into the receiver; giving in. “Ahh… I’ve wondered whether you get these urges too. You know, when we make some progress, coming home to an empty house with a body that needs to wind dow—”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I accidentally hit the end call button. That being said, it was tight inside the vent at Smile Hirasaka… I may have needed a moment alone after that, even though I’m sure you can imagine it wasn’t the nicest experience.” Katsuya tugs himself tightly, accidentally groaning loudly into the phone. “Uhhh—! Fuck. Ignore that.” A blush blossoms louder over his face, but he continues, defensive. “Damn… you’re not allowed to say that’s why I was so pissed in there. I was angry! I was also… ahhh… being so close to you felt good…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Your flashy yellow suit feels good to the touch, and I want more…” He strokes himself, noises escaping his lips with every brush. “I wonder how your body feels… I don’t imagine you shave, do you? Haa…” He shouldn’t share all his fantasies, but that tantalising thrill rushes through his bones again, straight to filling his head and fuelling his cock. “I’d love to discover, bit by bit under your shirt… and under your belt… I want to see your hairy cock. Is that bad? Haa… fuck… I want to see all of you, bare for me…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I’m naked right now too… ahhh… listening to the engaged tone got me going a little. Maybe you’re conditioning me. Damn, I’m leaking pre…” Katsuya grins with embarrassment as he sees the state of himself, rapidly getting more and more turned on. “I really wish you were here. I really, really wish you were here. I don’t just think about seeing your cock, is all I’m saying.”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Have you ever slept with a man? I… fuck… I really wish you could with me. I… don’t have enough hands to finger myself right now, but I wish I could…” Even if he angles the phone just right, he’d still have to call him again and again; it won’t be efficient. “I’ve practiced a little, with my fingers… but I want you to stretch me out. I… fuck…!” His hips roll into his fist, before he lets out a soft whimper into the phone. “Feels good… Baofu…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“God, pick up the phone, I need you… I need you… come over and fuck me… Please, I’ve never been so turned on! Ahhnnn… Baofu… pleaseee…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Didn’t mean to fill up your voicemail with the sound of me jacking off… fuck… but I’m serious, I’m leaking all over myself… mmhhh…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I’m so fucking horny… Baofu… please… I’m so fucking close… I need you inside, now, immediately, please! Please… I won’t ask for you to be nice again… I just need you to— ahhn!— spread me open and fuck me until I can’t do anything but come…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Baofu, Baofu… ahhhh, Baofu…! My cock’s throbbing every time I say your name… I wish you could see it… I don’t even care if you call me soft. Just stroke me with your gloves… fuck, your fingers would be so gorgeous around me, but your leather gloves… I’ll come all over them, and… ohhh, Baofu, I shouldn’t, but the idea of you licking me—!”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Fuck, fuck, I’m going to come, Baofu, I’m going to—! Ah– ah– ahhh!” He cries out into the phone, shame forgotten as he rides out his high into Baofu’s voicemail. “Ohhh… auuhhh… ohhhhh, fuck, Baofu… fuck me… please… Bao… fu…” The only thing he’s gripping harder than his cock is his phone, trembling in his hand. “Ouuhhh, Baofu, please, please, please… I’ve never come this hard; there’s cum all over me… fuck… Baofu…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I have no idea how your voicemail isn’t full…” Katsuya’s voice is still breathy, laced with arousal and desire as his refractory period cuts itself in half and half again. “Hah… I shot cum everywhere… it’s safe to say if you were here, you’d be covered. As it is… my sheets are a mess. My body’s a mess too! There’s cum from my chest to my legs, and I’m going to need a shower… Ahhh… that’s going to put a wrench in things. I’ll leave a few more messages just so you don’t get suspicious, and then I’ll take a shower. Fuck…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“I… can’t even say anything normal. I’m kind of humming from head to toe, like I’m going to burst if someone touches me. I can’t stop thinking about what made me come… you licking my tip and meeting my eyes over the top of your shades, and stroking me with your gloves.” Katsuya groans into the receiver, the vision sending his heart-rate higher and body hotter. “I’m getting half-hard again thanks to that! I don’t know what to do. I need to clean up and I’m too horny…”

Sorry buddy, but I’m not here. I’ll listen to ya if I feel like it, so leave a message.

“Every time I punch in your number, I get all nervous now, like you’re going to jump out of my phone and suck me off. I wish you could… god, I really can’t be normal. I’m putting down the phone and putting in a load of laundry before I’m calling again. That should stop me from saying anything stupid… I was supposed to be asking you about the Nichirinmaru anyway. God.”

He throws his phone to the end of his bed, before swearing as he realises it’s now soiled. “Shit… fine…” Sitting up, he’s finally able to assess the situation, but it’s just as bad as it looked horizontally; ejaculate everywhere, including on him. After a few moves, his phone is safe and clean on his desk, and his sheets and blanket are bundled up, ready for the washing machine. There’s a terror to walking down the hallway covered in cum, nude, only protected by his linen, but the house is just as quiet as it was before he fucked up on the phone.

God. He really said all that, without worrying, the moment the thrill hit him. He needs to get better at biting his tongue and holding shit in. After all, these feelings were lying dormant, but they could go back to dormant; they didn’t need to be shared with the man himself, or his voicemail’s delete button!

As he squirts stain remover over shameful spots and sprinkles laundry powder across his sheets in the washing machine, there’s a sudden blaring from his room— his phone. Before he can shut the washing machine on his mistakes, he dashes down the hallway to his room, sliding on the wooden floorboards to drift through his doorway and grab his phone before the ringer runs out.

Beep! “Hello?”

“Suou, why do I have 102 missed calls from you?”

Katsuya’s eyes widen. “Uhh… Amano-kun wanted to know when you wanted to meet up to go to the Narumi Marina.”

“Riiiight… I was on the phone with Rich Boy when your first few calls came through, but then I decided to follow them on my voicemail in real time and… are you sure that’s all you wanted to say?”

Katsuya can’t breathe; his heart pounds in his chest, and fingers tremble against the phone in hand.

“Hello? Suou? You still there?”

“Yes–” he ekes out in terror, “– but what do you mean, ‘follow your voicemail in real time?’”

“It means I heard you go from insulting me pretty fucking badly to waxing lyrical about my voicemail message… and the rest I’d rather hear from you.”

“Oh my god, Baofu,” Katsuya groans, “do you really have to hold this over me? I didn’t mean to get soft on you. I’m sorry.”

“I’m not mad.”

“Then why bring it up?!”

“Do you still want me to come over and fuck you?”

Katsuya’s previous thoughts are all but wiped away in an instant, jaw suddenly agape. “Uh— did I hear that correctly?”

“Did I hear you begging me to lick your cock correctly?”

“You… You did, but… are you sure?”

“I wouldn’t be asking if I wasn’t sure. Believe it or not, you’re not the only one who was touching themselves when you sent those messages.”

“Wait… you were? And you didn’t call me?!”

“I didn’t want to interrupt you; my intuition was right, because you’re not only noisy when you come, but cute.”

Katsuya’s eyebrow flies up his brow. “Cute?!”

“Do you want me over or not?”

“I… I do. I’ll text you my address, okay?”

“Sounds good. Next time, you’re welcome to do that, instead of sending so many voicemails. Feel free to send some saucy ones too if you want—”

“I get it, I get it. Jeez, Baofu, you never quit, do you?”

Even if Katsuya can’t see Baofu’s face through the phone, he knows he’s slyly grinning at that. “You’re too easy to rile up. What can I say?”

“God…”

“It’s quite lovable.”

A smile slips onto his face at that. “Hey… don’t go soft on me too.”

“Maybe you aren’t the only one feeling it. I’ll order a taxi; text me fast, okay?”

“Heh. I will. Should I prepare anything?”

“Douche, lube, whatever. You can clean up if you want, but if you answer the door naked, we’re fucking right there.”

The world slows down as Katsuya’s heart goes from thumps to flutters. “Yeah?” The flutters drift down his body from chest to cock, and his half-hardness throbs against his leg eagerly. “Heh… I guess you know what I’ll be wearing.”

Fuck, Suou, easy does it. Don’t bite off more than you can handle. By the way, I’ve saved some of the more… explicit voicemails, just in case you’re wondering what happened to them.”

“Interesting… maybe we should add some more.”

“I’ll bring my tape recorder. See you soon.” The call clicks off, and Katsuya’s breath echoes around the room, quick and shallow with hunger. He’s not dreaming, is he? But no, he isn’t, as he slinks off to the washing machine to wipe himself down, then to the front door to wait like an anxious puppy, jittering from one foot to the other as if it’ll make the clock tick faster.

Cars streak down the street, until an inconspicuous taxi pulls up at the door, with an extremely conspicuous Baofu waltzing out in his banana coloured suit. He doesn’t even knock as he reaches the door, just twisting the knob before stopping in shock as Katsuya’s exposed body rolls into view. There’s a leap of his heart into his throat, before he finishes opening the door himself with a nervous blush, much to Baofu’s amusement.

“You’re begging for it…” is all he whispers before he sails inside and presses Katsuya to the wall with a thud. It takes a moment to adjust to his lips to his, but once Katsuya does, the kiss dives deep, fast. There’s no question as to whether he’s hard, but Baofu’s grinding against him heatedly, just as stiff in his suit pants as he is hanging free. In their own bubble, the world grows smaller and smaller until it’s just them at the door, exploring each other’s bodies with smacks and moans.

Parting is agony, but Baofu pulls away with a sly grin. “Jeez, and you’re not even closing the door.”

“You took my hand off it!”

“Well, get your hand back on it. If someone sees you making out with a suspicious man naked at the front door, that’s going to have all the wrong optics.”

Katsuya chuckles gently, but sweeps the door shut with a nod. “Alright. Where to, now?”

“Didn’t you say you had a room you wanted me in?”

“Mmmm, I think I did.” Katsuya runs a hand through his hair shyly, before meeting Baofu’s eyes with a tentative grin. “Want to take things there? I can show you just how badly I want you.”

The air grows still between them, the moment frozen in time, before Baofu reaches out a hand to interrupt his nervous movement. “Does your bed have sheets?”

“Uhh… no, it doesn’t…”

“Do you have a desk?”

“Yeah…”

There’s a glint in his eyes behind his shades, one that comforts and thrills Katsuya all in one. “Ever wanted someone to fuck you on it?”

In their peripheral vision, Katsuya throbs to full mast, but in front of Baofu he nods dreamily. “Heh… you want to go for it there?”

“I’d go for it anywhere, but you’ve got me all curious about your room.” Baofu raises an eyebrow teasingly, before looking over him with narrowed eyes. “You’re a strange one, Suou.”

“And you’re crazy, Baofu, but… maybe we should see where this goes.”

“Too right.” He squeezes his hand, and Katsuya’s heart leaps in his chest along with the motion. “Lead the way, sweetheart.”

Sweetheart? The warmth in his chest explodes, and it takes everything in him to squeeze his hand back without growing teary, instead showing him through the Suou house to his room. They don’t even have to shut the door before they’re on each other’s lips, pulling Baofu’s suit off and to the ground before they’ve even parted for air. Stationery tumbles to the floor as Baofu lifts Katsuya onto his desk, sweat dotting their skin as they frot against each other’s bare bodies, Katsuya’s suspicions confirming every time his eyes catch sight of another part of his body.

“You can’t stop looking, can you?” Baofu’s shades, gloves, and jewellery are the only accessories staying on him, yet somehow they make his body look even more nude to Katsuya’s eyes. “It’s cute.”

“You’re cute. I can’t help it.” Katsuya’s legs are spread completely, betraying exactly how much he can’t help with every lingering look down Baofu’s body.

“Heh… I can tell.” He closes the gap between them with a kiss, before grabbing the lube from his desk and lathering himself up. “Now, are you ready?”

“Never been more ready.”

“Perfect.” Baofu angles himself with a gloved hand, but gazes up at Katsuya, blushing violently and breathing shallowly. “First off, relax, but second of all, I have something for you to do.”

“Please…” Katsuya’s cock beads with pre-cum, leaking with every brush against his hole. “I’m so ready…”

“Call me Saga when we fuck.”

Katsuya’s eyes widen, before smiling as he watches the man in front of him; completely relaxed, possibly even friendly. “Alright then… Saga-san…”

“Still as proper as ever.”

“You know me, Saga-san… No need to hold back.” Katsuya’s heart is soft from being bent over and over in his mouth, but it’s not going to break in his hands now. Their bond is ironclad, forged by fighting but strengthened by love.

“Alright then. You ready, buddy?”

And as Katsuya’s eyes fly open with heart-racing surprise, Kaoru thrusts headlong inside him.
