Summary:

“Why is it always the old guys that hit on you?” Alex asked, leaning back in the booth to look around Darwin and see the man they were all talking about. “I mean he’s old, right? He looks forty.”

“Charles only hits on old guys. That’s why he only gets hit on by them. Anytime someone younger than thirty-five looks at him Charles walks the other way,” Raven stated, looking at her brother who was just all too smug as he sat back down with them.

Chapter Text

“Was that guy hitting on you?” Were the first words out of Raven’s mouth when Charles made his way from the bar and back to the table where she was sitting along with Hank, Alex, and Darwin.

Charles shrugged, but there was a smile on his face. The answer was clear for the others to see even if he wasn’t going to straight out admit to it. “Maybe he was. Maybe he wasn’t.”

“Well, are you going after him or not?” Darwin asked the only one who seemed to be encouraging him. “He might be a little older than my taste, but you have to admit he is attractive.” Alex hit him on the arm but Darwin just ignored him.

Shifting around, Charles looked over at the man again, accidentally catching his eye and was caught looking. “Maybe I will.”

“You seem very unsure of yourself tonight, Charles,” Raven replied, “Honestly, if you’re going to go fuck him then go on. We all know you’re a slut. No need to try being modest now.”

Charles smiled at her and leaned in to kiss her cheek, “Thank you. What a nice, supporting thing to hear from my sister,” He commented but stood back up anyway. “Maybe I will go talk to him. …I’m going to go talk to him.” The second time around he was more sure of himself, playing with the button of his cardigan before buttoning it back up. Only then did he turn to make his way back to the man at the bar.

The man who was tall, thin, and muscular, from what Charles could tell with the suit he was wearing blocking his view. Beautiful eyes, though Charles couldn’t quite place the color. Reddish-brown hair that made Charles want to start the conversation with a terrible mutation pickup line that his sister had assured him time and time again was about as cool as saying ‘groovy’.

“I was wondering how long it was going to take you to make your way back over here,” The man said, turning on the barstool, keeping his hand firmly wrapped around a tall glass in front of him and Charles’s mind could quickly turn that thought dirty, those long fingers wrapping around something else.

“Well, here I am,” Charles replied, hopping up a little as he sat down on the stool next to the man. “I don’t believe I introduced myself earlier. Charles. Charles Xavier.” He held his hand out and the man looked amused but accepted it all the same.

“Erik Lehnsherr. Nice to meet you, Charles Charles,” He replied and Charles laughed softly, feeling his face head up as he ducked a little in an attempt to hide it. He could tell the man was laughing at him a little. Or perhaps just teasing but either way, it had the same effect.

“Just one Charles will do,” He said, taking a breath and sitting up a little straighter. He looked at the man—Erik’s—face for a moment and tilted his head to the side, biting his bottom lip. “I know this might be a little forward of me but I was wondering if you’d want to leave here together tonight.”

Erik raised an eyebrow, looking at Charles, “Is that the kind of pickup line you normally use? How well does it work?”

“I’ll tell you in the morning.” He leaned a little closer to the man in front of him and then winked. “I could show you a good time, I know. All you have to do is let me know you want it as much as I do.”

Charles didn’t have to look at Erik to know the way he was being looked at. He could feel eyes moving over his face and then down his body. If he was being honest, he loved the attention.

“I think I could be convinced,” Erik replied, at last, smirking at Charles. It felt more like the man was trying to drag this out, make it last, and see what kind of reaction he could get from Charles. If that was his goal, it was certainly working.

“Isn’t that why you came here tonight, my friend? To find someone to take home with you? You did give me your number the last time I was getting drinks, after all,” Charles replied, “Or were you just looking for someone more shy and reserved?” Charles could admit he looked the part. White button up, light blue cardigan, light grey trousers, his hair was a bit of a mess but in a stylistic way.

Erik shook his head, “I suppose that is why I’m here and I’m delightfully surprised by your forwardness. The keyword there being ‘surprised’. Can I get you another drink?”

Then it was Charles’s turn to shake his head, “No, sorry. I know it may be rude to decline, but if we do go through with this, you don’t need to get me drunk and I would rather keep the memory of it. Forgive me for once again being forward but you are very attractive.”

The reaction Charles got wasn’t one he expected. Erik’s face seemed to turn a light shade of pink and he was looking anywhere but at Charles. He didn’t seem the kind to be shy or to blush easily so to Charles it was an accomplishment.

“Is that your way of saying you want to get out of here now?” Erik asked, standing up so he was looking down at Charles, making the shorter man move around on the stool but it wasn’t because he was uncomfortable, he rather was enjoying it a little too much.

“I believe that was what I was trying to get at,” Charles replied, getting up as well and finding Erik’s hand, letting the larger man lead their path through the crowded bar. He threw a thumbs up back to his sister as he passed their table.

“Did anyone ever tell you that you talk too much?” Erik asked once the sound of the bar was starting to fade behind closed doors.

“Frequently,” Charles answered, not at all bothered by hearing Erik say it.

“I love the sound of your voice but you could’ve just said you wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.”

“I believe that was being hinted at and then strongly suggested,” Charles replied but Erik simply gave him a look.

“Hints and suggestions when I would much rather hear you giving orders,” He said in a light, teasing voice seconds before their lips were pushed together in a rather rough kiss.

Charles felt like it shouldn’t have come as such a surprise to him but when they finally made it back to Erik’s place, he realized just what role he had fallen into.

For all that Erik may have been older, he certainly wasn’t going to be the one taking control. Not that Charles minded, he rather enjoyed being the dominant one in the bedroom, taking his partner apart slowly and thoroughly and the idea of having someone like Erik at his mercy was a turn-on. Even if he didn’t know the man at all.

The trip to the bedroom was nothing but a blur but Charles wasted no time in pushing Erik back onto the bed once they were there. He crawled over top of him, his hands going to start their work on Erik’s shirt after getting his suit jacket and tie out of the way.

Erik’s own hands were making work of Charles’s clothes, the cardigan being unbuttoned and thrown to the side, then deft fingers began untucking his button-up and working from the top down to unbutton it, pushing it off his shoulders the second it was open.

Then there was a moment of shuffling, Erik’s shirt being tossed to the side and they both worked through belts and trousers, shoes and socks until they were both bare, Erik stretched out on the bed, cock half hard and making Charles’s mouth water.

“Can I blow you?” Charles asked, pulling his eyes away from Erik’s dick to look at his face as he asked.

“Has anyone ever said no to that?” Erik asked and Charles laughed.

“I haven’t had anyone decline. But there’s always a possibility. I’m not doing anything until I have your express consent, darling.”

“Yes, Charles, you may suck my cock,” Erik replied, “Would you like that in writing as well?” He asked, teasingly.

Charles didn’t reply, he just smirked and leaned in, taking Erik into his mouth without hesitation. He moaned at the taste of him, the musty smell, the weight of his cock in his mouth.

If there was one thing Charles was confident in, it was his ability to give head. Years of practice and having a bit of an oral fixation led to his certainty that he knew what he was doing.

Slowly, he slid down, taking Erik deeper, feeling the head of his cock against the back of his mouth, then pulled back. He started with a slow pace, slowly working up to something faster.

It wasn’t hard to find out what Erik liked, the way his hips moved, and twitched, the small, breathy sounds, it all helped to guide him and know what to do. He took him as deep as he could, until his lips wrapped around the base of his cock, swallowing as he did. As a reward, he got a gasp from Erik, hips trying to thrust up into his mouth but the man seemed to have an iron grip on his self-control.

“Fuck, come on. I’d rather you fuck me when I cum. As good as you are with your mouth,” He added as though he didn’t want to offend Charles, who simply pulled back slowly, licking over the head of Erik’s cock, just to taste him one more time.

“Thank you,” Charles replied, moving back over him. “If you want me to fuck you, do you have lube?” He asked, sliding his hand over Erik’s stomach and ribs, down to his hip, sticking out prominently.

Erik turned his head, “Top drawer,” He replied, looking at the bedside table and Charles wasted no time in moving over to open it and pull the bottle out. Then he was moving back into place. He got a little distracted by leaning in and kissing Erik again.

His hands explored over Erik’s body as they got lost in each other. At least until Erik got impatient and pulled back, “Get on with it then,” He said softly and Charles laughed.

“Yes, sir,” He replied, opening the bottle and coating two fingers. “This something you do often?” He asked, mostly wanting to check how careful he should be before getting started.

“Not as often as you may think,” Erik replied and Charles nodded. The answer became clear a moment later when he started to push his finger in and realized how tight Erik was.

“You have done this before, right?” He asked, his hand moving slowly until his finger was fully in and pausing, watching Erik’s face.

The man didn’t look amused, giving Charles an annoyed look. “Yes. It’s just been a while,” He replied.

“Alright,” Charles replied, “I didn’t mean anything by it, darling. I just wanted to make sure. I don’t want to hurt you or anything.

Erik didn’t seem to want to be taken care of in the way Charles was because he sighed. “I brought you here to fuck me. I’d appreciate it if you do that.”

“And I will, but I don’t see why I can’t make it good for you in the process. Or are you trying to tell me you are interested in pain? Are you wanting me to hurt you, Erik?” Charles asked, wondering if he was catching onto something here.

“A little pain wouldn’t be unappreciated. I want to feel it. I want to keep feeling it. I don’t get the chance to do this too often and when I do I want it to be thorough,” Erik replied, seemingly as matter-of-factly as he could.

Charles smirked, looking down at him, he pulled his finger out and quickly slid it back in, starting to fuck him with a finger. “Then I’ll see what I can do.”

It didn’t take long before Charles was pushing the second finger into him, fucking him with them both until Erik was pushing back against him. The man was almost eerily quiet but Charles could see the look on his face and knew he wasn’t against complaining if he didn’t like it.

“More. Fuck me,” Erik was demanding a moment later and Charles’s theory was proved right. Erik would make his needs known.

His fingers were slid out of Erik and he dug around for his clothes, finding his wallet and pulling out a condom to roll on before slicking himself up. Then he was pushing into Erik, being a little careful. At least until Erik pushed his hips back against Charles’s until he was fully inside him, not bothering to let Charles move at his own speed and, in turn, gasped in shock.

“I said fuck me,” Erik said, smirking up at the other man who was trying to recover from his surprise.

“Yeah, I heard you,” Charles replied and Erik opened his mouth but Charles decided two could play at his game and started to fuck into him before he had the chance to say anything. The pace was fast, hard thrusts, an almost brutal pace. It didn’t last long—couldn’t really—but it was enough to make Erik almost scream out, only because he was about to speak and then was unable to stop himself.

Charles smirked down at him as his pace slowed a little until something he could keep up for a longer period of time. “You were saying?” He asked.

“Shut up, Xavier, and just fuck me,” Erik replied, his hand sliding down to wrap around his cock. Charles wasted no time in batting it away to replace it with his own. His other hand went to Erik’s leg, moving it up, sliding his arm underneath it to keep it in place, the angle shifting slightly.

Erik’s body arched off the bed a little, his head pressed back against the bed, hands clutching at the sheets. The look on his face could’ve passed for one of pain but Charles knew it wasn’t and didn’t dare stop.

Sweat was sliding down his back, and his legs were burning but he wouldn’t stop—couldn’t—he was too close now for that. A moment later, he felt Erik’s body almost pulsing around him, and then clenching down he stripped his stomach with cum, some marking Charles’s chest as well.

It was only a couple of thrusts later that Charles was following after him, filling the condom which he was quick to dispose of as he pulled back from Erik, slipping free of his hole.

“Don’t go yet?” Erik asked and then looked a little sheepish and uncertain after he asked. “I mean, you can if you want to but you don’t have to. You can stay for a bit.”

Charles looked down at him and smiled a little. “If you’ll point me to your bathroom I’ll clean you up a little before we get comfortable,” He offered.

“Through there,” Erik said, pointing towards an ensuite, “Any of the towels you want. There’s some wipes in the top drawer near the door if you want those.”

As Charles moved, he finally took in where they were, no longer distracted by Erik. The apartment seemed large. The bedroom was, anyway. And the bathroom as well. A tub that Charles could swear was supposed to be a hot tub, a shower that looked complicated to use, two sinks, large mirror wall behind them.

He grabbed a couple of the wipes before coming back to the bed, careful not to touch anything else.

As he laid down on the bed next to Erik, he gently wiped him clean, over his chest, stomach, and cock. Then Charles cleaned himself up, disposing of them both in the garbage can next to the bed where he’d put the condom a couple of minutes before.

He turned to look at Erik then, eyes traveling over the man in the dim light of the room. He couldn’t help but wonder what this was. Erik had given him his number as though he wanted something more, then they ended up here as though it was going to be just a one-off situation. Really, he supposed it was up to Erik, what he wanted.

“I think we skipped a few steps in there,” Erik said softly after a moment, “I gave you my number then begged you to fuck me. Didn’t even buy you a drink first.”

“You offered,” Charles replied, “I think that counts.”

“Still. I don’t know anything about you. I think most people at least have a bit of a talk before falling into bed with each other.”

“Then you clearly don’t know me,” Charles said with a wink, rolling over to cross his arms against Erik’s chest, his chin resting on top of them. “If you want to know something, ask away.”

“How old are you?” Erik asked, “You look young and I really should’ve at least asked that first.”

“If I wasn’t at least twenty-one I wouldn’t have been allowed in the bar, Erik. Honestly,” Charles replied.

“You’re not answering the question. There are plenty of people out there with a fake ID. You could be one of them.”

“Then why would I bother telling you my true age now? I could lie then too,” Charles said, but then smiled a little, teasing Erik, “I’m twenty-four,” He answered. “And I’ve never had a fake ID. I’m a good person. Though I didn’t need one. I’ve spent the last few years in England at Oxford. Hardly need a fake ID when the legal drinking age is eighteen.”

Erik nodded slowly, “Okay. So you’re still a student?” He asked.

“I am, yes. Trying to get a second Ph.D, over here this time, swimming in debt, living the dream,” Charles replied, “What about you though? How old are you? What do you do?”

“I’m… about twice your age. Can we leave it at that?” Erik asked, “I own my own business. I’m an architect. Though I do have some credentials in engineering as well.”

“So that explains the big fancy place,” Charles replied, smiling at him, “Some big company? Fancy apartment? Sounds like you’ve made a name for yourself.”

“In my circles, I have,” Erik nodded, “Though I’m sure most other people don’t know anything about me or my company.”

Charles hummed, “I’ll admit I don’t know anything about architects. Not once we make it out of ancient times, that is. I don’t suppose knowing about Ictinus means much.”

Erik laughed and looked down at Charles, “In the grand scheme of what I do, not really, no.”

“Just as well. History isn’t my specialty either,” He said, rolling over onto his back, and tucking his hands behind his head.

“What is your specialty? You said you’re getting your second Ph.D. Why? What is it and the first one in?”

“Why is a good question,” Charles said with a sigh, “I don’t really know. I got the first one and didn’t seem to be having much luck with it. I want to be a professor but…it’s a bit of a long story I’m afraid.”

“Well, I have the night off and am asking,” Erik said, “I think that’s a good sign you should tell me about it.” He rolled his head to the side, looking at Charles, even as Charles kept staring at the ceiling.

“You’re about to learn a little too much about me then. It’s typically a third date story, at least. Not that I go on many dates. I hardly ever make it through the first.” It didn’t really feel right, talking about this but maybe it was still the alcohol in his system. Maybe it was just riding off the orgasm he had, or some deeper desire to get close to Erik but he wanted to tell him all about it so, why hold back? He might regret it later, but he tended to hate his past self for everything he did already anyway.

“My family is rather well off. Old money, ties everywhere, strings to pull. Get your way all the time, kind of people. Well, that’s what everyone thought. I had my life laid out for me. Day to day, month to month, year to year. We all did.

“Me being gay wasn’t part of that though. They had my wife picked out within the first year of my being born. We were pushed together at every event or gathering. There are pictures of us, two years old, holding hands, kisses on the cheek, all of that. I was six when I realized I liked guys and seven when I came out. I didn’t fully understand what I was doing but I let it slip that there was a cute guy at my school and things were just different from there on.” Different was an understatement. Hell was more accurate but there were only so many things he was going to admit to right now.

“So, long story short, I didn’t change my sexuality just to fit what my mother and stepfather wanted. So they decided to make sure I didn’t get what I wanted. They cut me off from my inheritance. I don’t get any of the family money. I had a trust fund and a college fund, but I'm not supposed to get any of it now. I don’t even know how they did that but I’ve been trying to make my own way. Oxford was easy enough, I made the grades, top of my class, graduated early but then my mother and stepfather made sure I couldn’t get the teaching position I wanted no matter where I went so I went back to school to try again.”

He stopped talking and sighed softly into the still, silence of the room. “Genetics,” He added after a moment. That was what my first one was in. This one is biophysics.”

Erik was looking at him in a way that would almost make him uncomfortable. Almost. Charles was sure he was just trying to take in everything he had just learned.

“I hate that people can do that. No job should be kept from someone because of connections and pull. It should be on who is best fit for the job. Who is qualified? Nothing else,” He stated, “But I am also wondering what biophysics is.”

Charles laughed softly, feeling the air around them get lighter. “Probably nothing that’ll really help me but it’s what I’m interested in. It’s what it sounds like, a mix of biology and physics. It focuses on everything from molecules to environments. The mechanics of life, how they are made, their functions, and how our bodies work. It’s sort of the study of life.”

“I thought that was biology in general,” Erik replied, looking a little confused and Charles sighed.

“Okay, there’s more physics involved in this than in biology,” Charles laughed, “We use physics, things like maths, electrical engineering, and computer science to explain and study basic biology.”

“Yeah, okay, but I’m going to need to see your homework,” Erik said and Charles laughed again.

“Okay, if you want to copy off of me,” He teased, “We can go over my notes sometime if you want and are actually interested.”

Erik shrugged, “I’m not that interested, but I do like hearing you talk about things you’re interested in. Your eyes were lighting up and you looked a lot more animated.”

Charles looked down, realizing his hands were no longer behind his head, he had been using them to talk and explain. He felt his cheeks heat up but he couldn’t really be bothered to care.

“You would’ve made a good professor,” Erik commented. “I do hope you get to do that, one day.”

“Thank you,” Charles said softly, his mind wandering to it, getting lost in that dream for just a moment before pulling himself out of it. “You never did answer my question about how old you are though.”

Erik sighed with a small smile on his face, “I thought I had gotten by without that. I’m forty-five.”

Charles nodded but said nothing about it as they fell into what he thought was a comfortable silence. But apparently, it wasn’t because a moment later, Erik was breaking it.

“That’s not a problem, is it?” He asked, “Because I was sort of wondering if you’d want to do something more than just this one time. I know I’m older than you but…well, I was thinking, and I hope you don’t take this the wrong way but it’s something I’ve been thinking about and then I met you tonight and I couldn’t help but still think about it. To me, it sounds like a great idea, but if it doesn’t to you then that’s okay but I had to ask.”

Erik looked at Charles like he was waiting for an answer but Charles only blinked at him, mentally replaying what he had said, looking for the question.

“It’s not a problem,” He said slowly, wondering if that was what he was supposed to answer, “If there was another question…I don’t think you asked it, Erik.”

“Oh, right,” Erik said with a weak laugh, “I’ve been…thinking about an arrangement of sorts. You mentioned struggling to pay for your schooling. Maybe I could help you out if you’re willing?”

Charles was a little uncertain. It wasn’t what he was expecting to be asked and he was a little hesitant with what was being asked. There was a catch somewhere, right?

“For?” Charles asked, “You do this for me, what do you want in return?” He asked as carefully as possible. He didn’t want to offend Erik, and he didn’t want to make it seem like he was refusing. It might’ve been a little offensive but it sounded like a good deal overall unless he was being asked to commit murder or something. Those were the lines at the moment.

“This, really,” Erik replied, motioning between the two of them.

“You’re…offering to pay me for sex?” Sounded like a slippery slope to him. A fun slide. He wouldn’t mind doing it, really, but it wasn’t the most legal of jobs.

Erik shook his head then paused, “Not exactly. Or not just sex, I should say. But company. With my work, I don’t really have time for a proper relationship. I want someone to go to events with, someone to spend some time with, a companion. And, yes, someone to occasionally have sex with.”

The question was a lot easier to answer after that, “Then yeah. If you’re interested in me doing that, I’m definitely interested. It’s not like I have the time for a proper relationship either with school, research for and writing my thesis, and my classes. I think this could work.”

“As long as we have our schedules lined up,” Erik replied, “It sounds like something that can be done. I just hope you’re not busy when I’m free and vice versa.”

Charles shook his head, “I’m assuming you’re at least busy Monday through Friday nine to five,” He replied, “All of my classes are in there. There are four of them. Any research or writing I have I do in my free time. I can do it when you’re working and have free time when you do. Besides, it’s also something I can do from anywhere, just let me know when you want me and I can be here.”

Erik smiled and nodded, “Then I think this could work out for us both. I can send you my schedule for the next month. We can work out a payment method for you too. Would you want me to send you the money directly? Or just take over your payments for school?”

To Charles Erik almost sounded a little over-eager and he couldn’t help but laugh at his excitement. “Darling, as much as I appreciate your excitement, and as much as I can’t believe I’m the one of us saying anything, I’m exhausted. Can we handle the specifics in the morning?”

“Oh, yeah, of course. Sorry, when I get an idea, I tend to fixate on it,” He replied, “We can definitely handle this in the morning. But it is reassuring to know you’re the one tired right now.”

“This may be your bed but don’t think I’ll hesitate to roll you out of it onto the floor for saying something like that, Lehnsherr,” Charles replied, smiling to himself, even as he rolled to his side, burying his face against Erik’s shoulder. “You said I could stay, right?” Maybe it was a little late to be asking that, especially after he was already working to get comfortable, but he would get up and leave if Erik really wanted him to.

At least the next day would be Sunday so he didn’t have to worry about school and he hoped Erik wouldn’t have to worry about work. They could sort out everything Erik decided they needed to do then.

“Of course, yeah, you can stay,” Erik replied, wrapping his arm around Charles as he settled in. “Much too comfortable to let you up now anyway.” He added.

From there, it wasn't long at all before Charles found himself drifting off to sleep, warm and comfortable in Erik's arms.
