Chapter Text
It was a fairly normal mission, apart from one thing... He had been younger, less mature and quite frankly more arrogant.
But he was still a damn good spy.
He slid his chair up so he was right next to the target. Which was a horrible idea, and Leland agreed.
"Finn, what are you doing?" Leland asked, slightly panicked through the headset.
Finn glanced back at Leland and winked at his partner before looking back at the target.
"So, do you come here often?" Finn asked, subtly leaning to the side.
The target raised an eyebrow to Finn, the man possessed a decent scar on his jaw.
They looked at each other in silence for a few seconds.
"Taylor, Maxwell Taylor." Finn gave a fake name, he outstretched his hand.
"Nice to meet you Maxwell, name's Riley." Riley said, shaking Finn's hand.
"And no, I'm just here with my cousin."
"And where are they?" Finn smiled in his practised manner. Riley gestured to the dance floor, a gorgeous, green eyed and blonde lady was in the middle of the dance.
Finn did a double take.
He then looked back at Riley.
Focus, don't get distracted.
"Well, why aren't you on the dance floor?" Finn asked before ordering a drink from the bartender.
"I was waiting for you." Finn froze.
"Shit." Leland cursed over the radio.
"You want to know where the shipment is headed?"
Finn calmed himself.
"Yes I do." Finn answered calmly and quietly.
After that unnecessary scare, Finn had all the information needed and the mission was basically complete.
But he wanted to do one last thing.
"If you die Finn, It's not my fault." Leland said, walking away with the info to submit to CHROME.
Finn smiled and turned his attention to the blonde woman on the dance floor. He fixed up his hair, walked over and put on his charm.
"Why is a lovely lady like you dancing all alone?" Finn asked, offering his hand for a dance.
"Oh! Well I just got out of a terrible relationship and I needed a day to myself!" The woman smiled, genuinely happy. She took Finn’s hand and started to dance.
She was hyper and talkative, two things Finn knew he didn't possess unless he put on an act.
Finn smiled and started to dance formally with her.
"May I ask what happened ma'am?" Finn continued the conversation, pulling an impressive move with her as he talked.
"Oh, that nitwit was violent and trigger-happy. I didn't need that, especially since I want kids one day."
"May I ask your name?" Finn smiled. The woman laughed beautifully before clearing her throat.
"Lillian, Lilly for short."
"Well Lilly, my name's Maxwell, Max for short." Finn used his fake name again.
"Thanks for the dance, Mr Maxwell." Lilly bowed as the song came to an end. Finn smiled at her. He then started to notice how her golden blond hair shone under the bar lighting, how it neatly framed her face.
Finn cleared his throat when he realised he was staring.
"There you are!" Finn turned to see a man with a scar down his neck, as well as the unknown substance that was soaked into his shirt.
Finn didn't hide the disgusted face he made when the man approached.
"Who’s this? Lilly, it's time to come back home."
Finn looked over to see Lilly hesitantly look at the man.
"Pardon me, but she will not be going anywhere unless she wants to." Finn glared at the man.
"Lilly." He basically growled at her.
Finn started to walk forward, backing the man away from Lilly.
"Who do you think you are?" He snarled at Finn.
Finn reached into his pocket and pushed it outward, in the action of faking that he had a gun.
He did, but that was in his other pocket.
The man gasped and stepped back, glancing at Lilly momentarily before running out. Finn stared at the entrance, he sighed before turning to Lilly.
She was trembling, but only slightly.
"I'm going to assume that was the jerk?" Finn took her hand. She looked up at him and nodded.
Finn thought for a moment.
“Do you need an escort home Lilly?” Finn asked genuinely.
“Only if that escort is you.” she smiled innocently.
Finn froze momentarily, processing her words.
“Alright then Lilly, I'll be right next to you the entire way home.” Finn stated after his mind caught up to the present.

“I'm guessing you got to do it that night?” Holley asked, leaning on her elbows and smiling cheekily.
Finn sighed at Holley's immaturity.
“Got tah do what?” Mater asked, sitting right next to Holley. He was engaged in the story aswell, but he hadn't understood much so far.
“Nothing, we didn't do anything that night Holley.” Finn stated, shutting down the idea.
“So what happened the next day?” Holley asked. Finn took a sip of his drink before standing up.
“Ask again tomorrow, then you can hear the rest of the story.” Finn smugly smiled as he walked out of the diner with his drink.
“But that's not fair! You got me interested when you said you had a kid! Now you won't tell us?” Holley put her head in her hands in defeat.
“Don't panic, he's gonna tell us tomorrow. Also it's kinda late.” Mater smiled at her.
Holley rested her head on the table.
“How do you know it's late? You don't have a watch and all the windows are closed.” Holley asked, stretching and getting up slowly. Mater pointed to the sleeping racer who currently and unknowingly rested his head on Mater's shoulder.
“I forgot he was there. Anyway, goodnight Mater.” Holley yawned before making her way out the door.
Mater looked at Lightning. The blond was exhausted after helping Sheriff chase off the tuner gang once again. Mater felt guilty waking him, but he didn't think Lightning would like being carried to his house.
“Is the story over? That was boring.” Lightning stretched, he had listened to only a quarter of Finn's story. He hadn't even stayed up long enough to hear Lilly's name.

Finn sat by the window of his cozy cone room, he had laughed at the first sight of the giant cones, but they were pretty comfortable to stay in. He still hadn't finished his drink.
He looked up when the sound of speeding cars echoed through Radiator Springs.
Finn peeked his head out the window to see a variety of neon coloured cars zoom through the main road. He knew the Sheriff wouldn't be able to catch up to them in his old car when it took off after them.
Finn raised an eyebrow when a red corvette took off after them aswell.
That might catch them
