of Wiskers and Redemption

Summary:

After his move to Deling City, Seifer started taking care of the local stray cats.
Weeks later, Raijin texted Seifer. The mention of party hats, brings Seifer to the edge of committing arson.

As the weather takes a turn for the worst, daydreams of Squall started to take over Seifer's mind.

The only problem with that is, they also took over the dreams at night.

Chapter Text

Staying with Raijin and Fujin in their home had been the best of all the available options Seifer had, years after the war. Swallowing his pride after being defeated multiple times and handing Hyperion over to Squall was one of the hardest things he'd done. Despite the humiliation, Seifer felt grateful that he wouldn’t be locked up for an unforeseen amount of time.

First, there was the need for recovery and to lay low. Despite the lingering hatred towards Seifer, it would probably take a long time for the animosity to subside. Seifer took the opportunity to keep a low profile and went fishing with Raijin in Balamb’s waters. When questioned by Fujin after getting back on the docks, Seifer would claim he caught a fish ‘this big’ during their trip, only to turn around and be met with a snickering and head-shaking Raijin behind him. A hard shove from either Seifer or Fujin would send Raijin off the docks and into water, the sweet revenge for tattling.

Eventually, Seifer agreed that Raijin and Fujin needed their own space again. Finding a job not as close to Balamb, had proven not to be a tremendous problem for Seifer…

The item shop in Deling City had a job opening for quite some time, and Seifer saw this as his new starting point, holding on strongly with both hands to the opportunity. While the hours wouldn’t work for most, they were perfect for Seifer.

The closing shifts weren't that bad; occasionally, the drunkard would bang on the shop door, usually for potions or remedies. Minor incidents aside, the hours seemed to fly by without any serious occurrences. Occasionally, Seifer would read one of the available magazines as a means to pass the time with the slow hours during the holidays.

The commuting time was way too long to Seifer’s liking. First, there was the train ride from Balamb to Timber, and then the ride from Timber to Deling City. Seifer despised the long commute and layovers. The chances of getting unwanted attention during the rides were never zero. Running into a pack of Geezards, unarmed, during an early morning run had more appeal to Seifer.

Going over it with Raijin and Fujin, they all agreed that finding an apartment of his own was for the best. Seifer started looking around for a cheap one on the outskirts of Deling City. Since the somewhat bigger and fancier apartments Seifer had seen were costly, and therefore out of the question, his hunt for a suitable place went on. And so would the commute between Balamb and Deling.

Surprisingly, the owner explained to Seifer that the apartment he owned nearby was free and up for lease, if he was interested, of course. That was something Seifer could only dream of and hope for. Yes, it was small, but it catered to all of his needs, and with renting the apartment, his commutes would finally come to an end. All it took was one look inside of the apartment, and Seifer was convinced.

Three weeks after accepting and signing the lease contract, Seifer moved to Deling City with the help of Raijin and Fujin. As Seifer did not own a lot -just a few boxes filled with his books and some of his clothes- he settled into his apartment quickly.

A few days later, after coming back from work, Seifer found some cats straying around the garbage bins in the alleyway behind the item shop. Observing them for a bit, first from his window and later from the top of the staircase, until he managed to get close enough to watch them from the bottom of the stairs near the gate. It seemed that all of them were friendly, although some were skittish and would hiss at Seifer when he made a sudden move.

As the weeks passed, Seifer started to buy various tins of cat food and left them on the other side of the gate. He gained more trust from the three cats every day, all of them had grown accustomed to Seifer’s presence and even became curious about him. They would  keep mewling aloud until he had put down their food.

After his latest shopping trip, Seifer returned to the back alley where the trio mewled at his arrival.

"C'mon, you guys… Let me go through so I can drop this off, and I WILL bring you your food in a few."

With that, he used his boot to gently shove two cats out of his way, making enough room for a clear path to the gate and the staircase.

Managing to open the gate without getting one of the strays stuck, Seifer weaseled himself through and closed it behind himself. He managed to unlock the door without dropping any of his grocery bags, pushing open the door and went into his apartment, dropping the bags on the counter. He started unpacking the bags and sorted the groceries into his cupboards.

Grabbing three tins of cat food, Seifer went back outside. Mere seconds after pushing open the gate, the three cats came sprinting from the garbage cans. Sitting down on the bottom of the stairs, Seifer ripped open the tins and placed them on the ground. One of the cats had decided it took him too long and managed to steal one of them from Seifer’s lap.

“Woah, easy there! You'd think I'd be needed to open that for you, huh. C'mere you, give it back…” Seifer chuckled.

After fetching the cat and prying the tin from its jaws, Seifer noticed the lid was covered in puncture holes.

“Seems you got pretty far with this one… There, now it’s open; go for it.” When he put the tin back on the ground, the cat went directly to it.

Standing up, Seifer looked at the three cats eating, a smile forming on his lips. He reached for his phone, flipped it open, and snapped a quick picture of the munching cats before closing it again.

A few seconds later, his phone vibrated and chimed. Grunting, Seifer flipped it open again, revealing a message from Raijin.

[Raijin: Yo Seif, you wanna stay over at ours? For your bday and Christmas. I’ll be cooking a big bird again?]

Thinking about it for about five seconds, Seifer started to type out a reply.

[Seifer: Only if you two bring out the good stuff… Drinks and food.]

[Raijin: Fuu said that she will. Oh, and she said party hats! No bday party without party hats, ya know!]

[Seifer: Hyne… Big fucking no on the party hats!]

[Raijin: The party hats are a must, ya know!]

[Seifer: I WILL set them on fire when you come near me with one of those…]

[Raijin: Fuu says, no arson in her/our house allowed.]

[Seifer: But where’s the fun in that?! Fine, no arson, I’ll be there on the 21st… and I fucking warn you two: No.Fucking.Party.Hats!]

Closing his phone after sending that last message, Seifer went back into his apartment.

Rain started to come down, big drops hitting the windows as he sat down in his window seat. Looking at the street below, Seifer started laughing. The pedestrians in front of the shop and across the street started running, desperately trying to keep dry under the overhang from the buildings. Umbrellas started flipping inside out or got ripped out of some hands as the wind started to amp up a notch, much to Seifer's amusement.

Dropping his head against the windowpane, Seifer closed his eyes, reminiscing about one of  his and Squall’s fuck-ups during their cadet days.

Their instructor had warned them about the developing thunderstorms at sea, stating that it would depend on the wind around Balamb whether one would break, depending on the winds around Balamb. Seifer had only himself to blame, but Squall had also ignored said instructor.

They ran for cover as the rain started to pelt down, soaking them both completely to their socks, in a mere minute. Before the bigger storms rolled in, they made haste in going back to Garden.

Squall had literally bolted back to his dorm, whereas Seifer had taken his boots, soaked socks, and vest off. He casually strolled through Garden, not giving a single fuck how he looked. Seifer took his sweet time to drop his stuff at his dorm, grabbing a towel, his soap, and some dry clothes. He started walking to the showers, not caring about his state of undress. Seifer stepped into a stall and peeled off his pants, dropping them unceremoniously with a loud squelch on the tiled floor. Much to his amusement, he could hear Squall groaning two stalls down.

“You need a hand with getting your stuff off, Squally?” Seifer had quipped, chuckling.

With a yelp and a loud crash against the stall, Squall cursed as he went down.

“Ugh, Fuck!”

Seifer barked out a laugh,

“You okay in there, Squally?”

“Ugh… Yeah?” He replied softly and grunted again.

Getting out of his stall, Seifer walked towards Squall’s only to find it locked.

“Dude, why’d you lock it? Hold on, I’m crawling in.” Seifer replied, getting down on his stomach and crawling under the stall door.

“You… Came?”

“You called, remember?” Seifer said with a smirk on his face, tugging at Squall’s pant leg.

“C’mon, let’s get this off of you. Then you and I can finally shower.”.

Squall popped the button and slid the zipper down, then tried his best to shimmy the pants down over the curve of his ass. In the meantime, Seifer started to have his own little tug-of-war with both pant legs. Inch by inch, the leather peeled off of Squall’s legs. As the material slid further down Squall’s legs. When he tried to pull his shirt down, to try and cover up, Seifer noticed, looking up from his task and barked annoyedly,

“Stop pulling your shirt down, and help me instead! I’ve seen those boxers many times before-...” Soon after the words had come out of his mouth, the material hugging Squall’s legs came loose and left Seifer half toppling over with the leather pants in his hands.

Taking another look at Squall’s thighs, Seifer noticed the lack of the usual black cotton fabric adorning said ass.

He looked up at Squall’s reddening face and stated,

“Wait Squally… You went fucking commando today!?”

With only a tight nod, Squall replied to Seifer’s statement, cheeks and ears turning an even darker shade of crimson with every passing second.
As his eyes dropped back to his hands, still holding Squall’s leathers, Seifer began to snort.

“Guess this is a story Raij and Fuu would LOVE to hear about!”

With a fluid motion, Squall slid over and straddled Seifer, grabbing his hands and pinned them both next to his head on the ground. Clenching his jaw, Squall ground out,
“Don’t you fucking dare, Almasy! No one can know about this, understood? Thanks for helping, but now you’re getting the fuck out of my stall!”

“Fuck… Not a… peep, got it!” Seifer managed to croak out.

With the same speed as he was pinned to the ground, Seifer was free again, somehow missing Squall’s weight on his midsection. The only mistake Seifer made then was looking up at Squall’s bare ass and back as he turned around and took off his shirt.

With a loud and wet smack, the shirt got whacked onto his face, and Squall barked,

“Get the fuck out!” at Seifer.

Seifer hastily complied with Squall’s order. He dropped the shirt on the floor, unlocked the door, and slid out as fast as he could, returning to his own stall. Showering, drying himself off, and dressing quickly, Seifer was the one who bolted to his dorm this time.  As promised, he had kept his mouth shut about the whole ordeal that day.

Blinking a few times, Seifer came back to the present day, feeling his hard-on straining against his jeans.

“Fuck…” The only appropriate response to his most recent daydreaming session. Reminiscing about what happened back then still had the same effect on him after all those years.

Later that night, Seifer went to bed, hoping it would be an uneventful slumber. Waking up with morning wood, had usually not been a big deal. He was healthy, after all. Pulling one out after a good sparring match used to be his way of relaxing. However, waking up and vividly remembering all the things he had done to Squall in his dreams, resulted in come-stained boxers… Yeah, that was quite embarrassing and hadn't occurred in years.

Covering his eyes, Seifer cursed and loudly groaned out his frustration, the noise echoing through his apartment.

“Fucking hell…Squall better be around Balamb when I’m visiting… because THIS is not going to fucking happen every night. UGH”
