Work Text:
The Moon skips across the stars
Hopping from one to another.
Childish wonders fill the atmosphere.
She has been here for millennia now.
She has yet to be bored.
The infinite joy of just existing.
No responsibilities, no pain, no tears.
Just the Moon and Her Stars.
Some nights, though rarely, she has a friend.
For but a few moments, she and The Sun will dance.
It is the purest joy she has felt,
Since her creation as a mere particle.
The Sun will smile at her, as she returns the sentiment.
They will twirl and swish, their dresses swaying in the midnight breeze.
Sadly, the moment in which they find each other are always over too quickly.
They will see each other soon, so she has no reason to mourn.
So, The Moon gets back to what she does best.
She walks, she dances, she glides.
O Great Ouranos grins to her as she paints the sky with light.
She is not alone.
The Moon has many to keep her company.
Then, like clockwork, she meets the end of the sky.
The Moon looks across the horizon as she is met with the view of the rising Sun.
She waves to her, as she does each night.
The Moon yawns, as she sleeps down out of sight.
She will release the world to the Sun for now.
For now, she will rest.
She lays with Her Stars, and smiles gently to them.
For now, The Moon thinks, as she closes her eyes and is quickly taken by dreams.
