Those buffoons in the royal family painted me as the antagonist in the history that, need I remind you, they wrote themselves, but as I will explain, their side of the story is simply a carefully weaved fabrication of their own invention. After all, they needed someone to blame for the undesirable results of their own incompetence running the kingdom so they decided to make me their scapegoat. They labeled me a usurper and sent, of all things, a puny ten-year-old kid to face me in mortal combat! I say to you, what great kingdom would send a child to do their dirty work? Only an incompetent one, of course.
It's true that I endeavored to obtain possession of the Triforce but it was only in an effort to protect it from people who were clearly too inept to bear the responsibility of safekeeping a sacred and ancient relic left in our mortal realm by the goddesses themselves. You need only consider how the king, in his infinite wisdom, entrusted an instrument which unlocks access to the sacred chamber where the Triforce resides to his immature and naive ten-year-old daughter, for heaven's sake!
If the same words that the princess Zelda spoke when describing her so-called “prophecies” came from the mouth of a homeless beggar on the streets, would anyone have given her a second thought? Of course not! It's well documented that she comes from a long line of self-professed prophets, but the reality is that they all suffered from mental illnesses which caused them to believe they possessed powers that only the goddesses themselves could ever possess. The mere insinuation that Zelda is a reincarnation of the goddess Hylia is utter nonsense and just goes to show what an ego she has that she views herself on the same level as a deity! Would such an arrogant person who has never known a day of hardship in her life really be able to look after the best interests of the common man? I think not!
My hope is that I can someday lead Hyrule to an age of enlightenment and prosperity so it can rise above the blemish created by its previous incompetent monarchs and finally reach its full potential.
