"It's Houzi Sanzo!" Lirin said in excitement, pointing at a cream-robed figure walking below. "We can ask him how to revive Father!"
"I suppose we can," Kougaiji said dubiously, directing the dragons to wheel down. They landed before the fair-haired priest and he leapt from the saddle. "You! Human! I seek your counsel!"
"That's not a very polite way of asking," Houzi Sanzo said mildly. He was a lot younger than Kougaiji had expected, and his famed monkey had a knowing glint in its eyes.
"We beg your pardon, Sanzo-sama," Yaone started, bowing very properly. "Eek!" She flung the monkey off. It had scampered up onto her shoulder and stuck its paw down into her cleavage.
"Naughty!" Houzi Sanzo chided. "He likes girls," he said confidingly. "A lot."
"Please control your pet!" Yaone said in horror. "Ugh, his little paws are icy!"
The monkey sat on his master's shoulder and chattered in simian rage.
"Well, you are a pet," Houzi Sanzo said. "And a very naughty one! Be good or you know what I'll have to do. You can't feel up all the girls in China."
Pah, the monkey said, and turned its back.
Kougaiji wondered why he even bothered.
