“Excuse me,” A deep voice cut through the chatter of the busy cafe, “Can I sit here?”
You blinked at the sentence you were reading and glanced up from your little booth made for two.
Gorgeous brown eyes stared down into yours and you felt your breath catch in your throat. Standing there was one of the most beautiful men you had ever seen in your entire life.
Rich brown skin that looked so soft as his lips tilted in a polite smile, his broad shoulders giving way to a barrel of a chest under an emerald green coat. He was wearing a sweater, dark brown and cashmere, and tan slacks from what you could see.
He looked like he needed to be the future father of all your babies.
The man cleared his throat, a rumble of a sound, and furrowed his brows slightly. “Miss…? Everywhere else is taken…”
“Sorry.” You blurted, eyes wide and your face burning. “Please, um, sit down, I mean, you can sit down.”
His smile widened just a fraction, the other side of his mouth twitching up, “You sure you don’t have company coming?”
Your stomach flipped and you bit your lip at his teasing tone, shaking your head.
“Good.” He replied, succinct and final as he shrugged off his coat and carefully hung it on the rack attached to the booth.
You tried to focus on your book and not at the newly revealed bulging biceps that his cashmere sweater clung to like a second skin, but your thoughts easily gave way to wishing you were the coffee he was sipping from his mug.
At the twentieth re-read of your sentence you felt him watching you, full out staring across the table.
You furrowed your brows and looked up from your book, expecting him to look away but he didn’t.
He smiled and it made your heart jump with a foreign familiarity.
“Have we met before?” You questioned, giving up on your book and closing it. “You seem like you know me or something?”
He laughed, short and deep like a huff. “No, I don’t believe we have.”

“I gotta go…” You snickered against the lips of your boyfriend as his body pressed yours against a tree. It was nearing eleven o’clock and your dorm had a strict curfew. You’d be written up if you weren’t back in time but the way he was making you feel against that tree… Lord have mercy.
You pulled away from the kiss, smiling as he chased your lips. “Babe…” You whined with a pout, giggling when he buried his head into your neck and began to leave sloppy kisses on your skin.
“C’mon, baby.” His voice buzzed against your skin, making you shiver, “Just a little bit longer…”
The two of you could get in trouble, real trouble, technically he wasn’t even supposed to be on your campus, being that it was an all-girls college and Boston in 1972 wasn’t exactly the progressive paradise that would forgive you necking when you were supposed to be in your dorm.
But he just had to see you. You had to see him too.
“Come to my car right quick,” He continued to prod, his full lips pressing heavy kisses against the column of your throat. “Ten minutes, tops.”
“Oh that’s all you need, huh?” You teased, giggling as he nipped at your skin.
“That’s all I need with a fine woman like you, baby.” He replied, slick as oil and you laughed, rolling your eyes at his jovial grin.
“You're crazy.” You responded fondly, brushing your thumb against his lips to wipe your lipstick off. “Absolutely insane.”
Your boyfriend pecked your thumb and grabbed your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. “Maybe,” He murmured, pressing his lips against the back of your hand, “I might be crazy but I know I love you, girl.”
Your heart swelled and you tried to hide the smile threatening to spread over your lips. “Nate…”
“Uh oh,” He teased, his smile unwavering, “If you don’t love me I swear I’ll jump off that tower behind you-!”
“Shut up!” You snickered, slapping your hand on his chest, “I love you, too, stupid.”
“Stupid? Look how you talk to your soulmate-!”
“Shut up!”

His name was Kang, strange and strong. Just like the man it belonged to. You gave him your number that day at the cafe and he’d call you every night, like clockwork at 10.
“How was your day?” He’d ask in that deep voice, shaking you to your core as you cuddled in your bed.
You go on and on about your job and little inconveniences and he’d listen to every word, providing input when needed.
“I’m a scientist.” He told you one day, a quarter past ten, “And something of an inventor, though I try to keep learning to become more, better.”
“I could tell you were something important,” You replied coyly, “You’re pretty smart, smarter than most people I’ve talked to.”
“How flattering of you to say,” He cooed into the receiver and you beamed as if he could see you, “Thank you, kitten.”
Your face burned and you bit your lip, he’d never called you that before. “Um,” You stammered, swallowing the saliva pooling in your mouth, “You're welcome.”
“Would you like to accompany me to the museum this Friday? We could get a late lunch after.”
“Okay.”
It rained Friday, a torrential downpour that had him tucking you into his side so he could hold an umbrella above both of your heads. You felt like you belonged there and felt a little disappointed when he stepped away to close the umbrella.
As you walked through the museum, perusing exhibits about ancient civilizations, he gives you little tidbits about different artifacts. Except that the tidbits more often than not, weren’t so ‘little’ and were incredibly in depth. When you made a joke about it, he only smiled.
“I’m a bit of a history buff.” He explained it away, interlocking his fingers with yours and leading you to the next exhibit.

“He requests your presence, my lady.”
You scoffed, your eyes narrowing at the servant. “He requests a lot of things.” You muttered, careful to finish drawing the thick coal around your eyes. “Tell him I’m busy.”
“But-!”
“I don’t believe I asked you for commentary.” You intoned, the gold jewelry adorned on your skin clicked against each other as you turned around, “Tell The Conqueror he can come get me himself-!”
“Woman.”
You bristled at the deep voice of your lover, though you turned back to your reflection stubbornly, dipping your fingers in the metallic paint and lightly coloring in your lids.
You heard the heavy door to your bedroom swing closed and in the next moment your lover was behind you, his heavy hands falling on your shoulders.
“Don’t call me that.” You whispered under your breath, as his large palms began to smooth down your arms, “I’m angry with you.”
“You’re always angry, pet.” The Conqueror muttered back, his full lips kissing the top of your ornate hair. The same gold that shined on your lids were dragged in straight lines down his cheeks, a symbol of his importance.
“You left.”
“I always come back.”
“It’s been ages-!”
“Time is relative kitten,” He hummed, forcing the bench you were sitting on around and lowering himself to his knees, “I can give you all the time in the world.”
“That’s what you promised.” You retorted, crossing your arms over your chest. “That’s what you said-!”
“I made you Pharaoh didn’t I?” He argued, his full lips pressing against your bare knee revealed by the slit in your skirt, “Gave you everything you’ve ever wanted.”
You pursed your lips and removed the golden headdress from your lover, revealing the dark kinks underneath it. You raised his head and pressed a kiss to his forehead sweetly. “I wanted you most of all, remember?”
The Conqueror’s jaw ticked and he sighed heavily through his nose, nodding silently as you softly pecked his full lips. His heavy hand gripped the back of your neck as he pressed harder against your lips, then tugging you down to the floor with him.
Your thighs stretched over his thick ones and you nearly purred, feeling the beginnings of his erection at your center.
“Let me make it up to you, my love.” He rasped, his hands squeezing your thighs around him, “Give you what you really missed.”
You breathed out a laugh and shook your head, slightly adjusting yourself so you were seated on the muscle of his right thigh. “You mean what you really missed.” You retorted with a sly smile, sighing as you ground down on his thigh.
The Conqueror pressed his lips against the column of your throat and groaned, bucking his hips up to give him some relief. The action made his thigh flex and you moaned, feeling his lips spread in a smirk as he repeated the action again and again.
“Look at the mess you’re making,” He rasped, his teeth nipping at the skin of your throat, “Riding my thigh like it’s your throne.”
You hummed, pressing your lips to his forehead, “My throne is your thick cock, my love.”
Your lover let out a near animalistic growl and in the next moment your back was against the floor with a heavy body on top of you.
“Dirty little minx.” The Conqueror hissed above you, his engorged member burning between your legs. He flipped you over to your stomach and dragged your ass back to him before landing a heavy slap on each cheek.
You gasped in sweet pain and arched your back more, mewling when his palm struck your wet cunt. The thick head of his cock probed between your lower lips, smacking against your slit obscenly before poking your opening once more, inching in bit by bit until you were filled to the brim.
Fingers wrapped around your throat and pulled you flush against the solid muscle behind you. Teeth nipped at your ear before a wet tongue dragged a trail up the side of your face.
“What would Egypt say if they saw their Queen Pharaoh on her knees with her cunt swallowing my cock?”
You nearly cried, the hand on your throat restricting your breathing as the other wrapped around your body and groped at one of your breasts.
“You had so much to say before,” The Conqueror teased with a huff of a laugh, “Now I hear nothing but your tight, wet hole taking every inch of me.”
You whined and nodded, your body gyrating out of control on his length. He laughed again breathlessly, allowing your body to fall against the floor as he kept your ass pressed against his hips, pistoning into you with enough force to shake your bones.
You gulped mouthfuls of air down and grunted, your fingers unable to find purchase on the smooth floor. His fingers dug into the meat of your hips as he pushed and pulled you as he wanted, his cock heavy in your stomach.
“Please, please-!” You hissed, tears lining your vision.
“What do you want, hm?” He questioned, bending over you and pressing a sloppy kiss on the back of your neck. “What could you possibly be begging for, my greedy girl?”
“Your seed.” You whimpered, your walls tightening around him, “Give me your child, Rama Tut, please.”
The Conqueror grunted, his grip tightening as he dug his teeth into your shoulder and making you cry out. “You want my baby?” He hissed through his teeth. “Pump you full of my cum?”
“Yes, yes, yes!”
“As you wish.”

Loud, ruckus music spilled from the front door of a juke joint as you and a couple gals from the diner shuffled your way into the shack, shaking your hips and giggling from your ruby colored mouths.
The place was jumping tonight, a nameless band on the makeshift stage singing filthy words as the guitar shrieked and the drums played, and people were on the dance floor, doing the bump, the twist, the herky jerky and every other nasty grind that was an excuse to hump with clothes on.
“Oh girl, I might find my husband tonight!” Violetta shouted next to your ear, causing you to laugh loudly as you ordered a drink from the bar.
By the time you got that drink and turned around, all of the ladies you came with had been spoken for and were now on the dance floor.
You frowned and took a sip from your jack and coke, taking a spot on the wall with the other unplucked chicks.
You swayed your hips to the beat, watching as some gals around you were asked to dance. You huffed and hid your pout by sipping on your drink and trying not to look too mean to any possible suitors.
You were sipping on the melting ice when you caught dark brown eyes gazing at you from across the room. Your lashes fluttered and you slowly lowered your straw from your lips, gazing at a tall, dark and handsome man with a cigarette dangling from his lips. He was wearing a tight beige shirt that hugged the muscles of his torso in a way so sinful, you felt as if you shouldn’t even be seeing it. His shirt was tucked into a tight pair of slacks that gave off the same indentation of his lower half as his shirt did above.
Your lips parted and you swallowed thickly, nearly moaning aloud when his strong jaw clenched as he lit his cigarette, his eyes still on you as he blew the first puff of smoke in front of him.
“Lord have mercy…” You muttered, the hazy atmosphere of the club making you feel dazed. You rested your back against the wall to steady yourself, nearly passing out as he began to step towards you.
You sucked your lips into your mouth and held your breath, raising your chin as he grew closer to you to accommodate your height difference.
The man blew smoke over his shoulder before raising his arm above your head and leaning against the wall. “Hello.” He greeted, his voice somehow cutting through the noise.
“Hi.” You breathed, tapping your nail against your empty glass.
He smiled, his lips spreading slowly as he took another hit of his cigarette. “You here alone?”
Your heart skipped a beat and you nodded, not trusting your words. The man’s grin grew and he stubbed out his cigarette against the wall and leaned back, offering you his hand. Biting your lip, you slowly lowered yourself and put your empty glass on the ground before standing up again and sliding your hand into his.
The gorgeous man led you through the couples dancing, stopping in the room and pulling you into his brolic body, his hands sliding down to your hips as you placed yours on his broad shoulders.
His eyes were steady on yours as you rocked from side to side together to the music, your bodies pressed against each other in a way that was not indicative of the fact that you’d just met.
After a couple songs, his hands moved from your hips to your backside and he slyly shifted so his leg was between yours. Your lips parted in a gasp as he slightly lowered the two of you so your dress rode up and his thigh met your center. Your stomach jumped and you balled your fists into his shirt, biting your lip as he rubbed against you.
What was his name again?
You could feel his hard cock straining in his pants and sitting heavily against your leg. He groped your ass in his large hands, his nostrils flaring as a moan escaped your lips. A heavy hand curled into your carefully coiffed hair and forced your head forward, connecting your lips with your dance partner’s.
The moment your tongues touched, he tensed the muscles in his thigh and you keened, pressing your body closer to his. The heavy hand in your hair pulled your face away by a hair and you pouted, looking up at the man with furrowed brows.
He said nothing, only standing up right and pulling your dress down for you and grabbing your hand, leading you off the dance floor and out the door.
Alarm bells should’ve been ringing but you didn’t care that they weren’t, instead feeling exhilarated at the thought of a handsome stranger sweeping you off your feet.
You kept walking until you got to a vacant alley, the noise from the juke joint now muted and your ears were ringing as he pressed your back against the rough brick of the building.
“Hi.” You breathed, looking up at him as your lashes fluttered.
A deep rumble of a chuckle sounded from him and he grasped your hips in his hands, squeezing the meat on them. “Hello.” He repeated, pecking your lips before lowering himself to his knees.
Your eyes widened and a gasp left you as he pushed your dress up your thighs and ripped the stockings you wore under it, burying his face in your damp panties as if he had done it many times before.
“Ah…” You stuttered, coherent thoughts leaving you as he mouthed against your cunt through your panties and grunted, throwing one of your legs over his shoulder. You cried out into the night and buried your hands in his cropped kinks as he pushed your panties to the side and licked a thick stripe up your slit and sucked your clit between his full lips.
A satisfied hum buzzed from his lips as he devoured your cunt like a man starved, shaking his head from side to side to make you feel every flick of his tongue.
“God.” You huffed and he nodded against you, his lips tilting in a smug smirk as his brown eyes locked onto yours.

You stared blankly at the metal roof of your cell, your back against the cold floor.
It was supposed to be simple, drop a couple bombs, scream for revolution and get out. You hadn’t been fast enough, opting to help load more people on getaway ships instead of saving yourself, and you had been caught.
They threw you in this box, ripping your weapons from you and leaving you here to, presumably rot.
You sighed heavily and allowed your eyes to flutter closed, the gray metal starting to give you a headache.
Heavy footsteps alerted you to someone approaching your cell but you didn’t get up, only feigning sleep once more.
“I know you’re awake.”
“Can we get this over with?” You breathed out with a sigh, “What’s my sentence? Death or imprisonment?”
“Neither.”
That caught your attention and you sat up, your back facing your captor as you tilted your head in question. “Neither,” You repeated, refusing to give the person the satisfaction of seeing your expression, “Torture then?”
“No.”
You sucked your teeth in annoyance at this little game and spared a single glance over your shoulder, catching the sight of blue skin before turning back around.
“It’s not polite to play with your food.” Your voice filled the silence once more, “I would rather know my fate than just waiting for it to happen.”
“Does anyone ever truly want to know their fate?” The man questioned with no sense of teasing in his tone. “Aren’t you all just mere mortals waiting for something to happen to you?”
You turned around fully then, pressing against the cold floor to help you stand to your full height. You crossed your arms over your chest and regarded your captor with narrowed eyes. It was him.
The Conqueror.
He was definitely going to kill you.
Your nerve wavered but your voice didn’t show it, as you replied boredly, “I don’t like playing cat and mouse.”
The Conqueror's lips twitched but he didn’t smile, instead his helmet dissipated, along with the blue sheen on his face.
Your eyes widened a fraction and your arms dropped to your sides as you took a careful step forward to inspect him.
He looked like you, at least, the most anyone down there has looked like you. He had linear scars on both sides of his face, as if someone branded him with a blade, and deep brown eyes. Two of them, a single nose and full lips.
“You…” You whispered, pressing your hand against the clear wall separating the two of you, “What are you?”
“Kang.” The man’s answer was succinct, his gaze steady on your eyes.
You blinked and shook your head, scanning over his features once more, “But are you a man? A human, like me?”
“I was… once.”
“Once?” You repeated in a whisper, “How… why are you down here? Everyone says you come from above but I just thought…” You trailed off, catching yourself.
He was no kin to you. He was a murder. A colonizer. A conqueror. He wasn’t like you. He was a monster and he didn’t deserve-!
The sound of your name falling from his lips quickly brought you out of your thoughts.
“How do you know my name?” You snapped, your skin prickling.
“I know many things about you,” He murmured steadily, quickly adding, “In other lifetimes.”
You scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest again, “Bullshit.”
“Whether or not you believe me now doesn’t truly matter, I could show you, if you’d like.” He offered, taking a step closer to your cell.
“No.” You hissed, taking a step back.
“You sure?” He questioned with that barely there smile, “It’d make this easier.”
“Make what easier?” You nearly shrieked, taken aback when the wall between you disappeared and he was in front of you the next moment. “Don’t-!” You tried to protest but it was too late as his fingers touched your temple.
“Is anyone sitting here?”
“Rule along side me, my love. ”
“C’mon baby, a little bit longer.”
“She looks pretty like her mama.”
“Marry me?”
“I have something I must do.”
“Right there, pretty girl? Look how you ruined my robes.”
“I’ll be back.”
“I love you, over and over again, I’ll always love you.”
“You never come back.”
“I’ll always find you.”
“I’m sorry.”
Your vision returned and you gasped, tripping over your feet as you moved away from him. You braced yourself against the wall of your cell, chest heaving as you tried to make sense of what you had just seen.
Ages and ages of lives lived that you didn’t remember until now. Loves, careers, children…
“I know it’s a lot to take in-!”
“Oh really?” You breathed with a bitter laugh. “Do you now? You know what it’s like to know who you are and then suddenly be proven wrong?”
“Yes.” Kang replied lowly, his deep brown eyes on yours, “I do.”
You frowned, returning his gaze as heat pooled in your belly and affection clouded your thoughts. You wanted to kiss him, you wanted him to kiss you, you wanted…
“No.” You shook the thoughts from your mind, “Look I don’t what you expected but I’m not that person and you’re not those men either. We’re different people and I don’t love you, I don’t even know you.”
Kang pursed his lips, his nostrils flaring in a sigh. “I’m sorry that you think that.”
“I don’t think,” You snapped, crossing your arms over your chest, “I know. Just like I know you’re a murderer and a colonizer who oppresses the people of this realm. I could never want you, let alone want to be with you. You’re a monst-!”
You yelped as a force pushed you against the wall, paralyzing you.
“Don’t-!” Kang started, his voice wavering as he pointed his finger in your face, “Don’t say that. That’s not, you wouldn’t call me that.”
You glared from your spot on the wall, your lips unable to move.
“I told you I’d always find you, I did. You saw it. In the end, we are together and you cannot fight destiny, my love.” He watched you struggle against his hold before he let you go, catching you before you fell to the floor.
“Don’t touch me.” You snapped, trying to push away from him but he just tightened his embrace, the both of you falling to the floor.
“I’m sorry.” The Conqueror’s voice broke as he held you tight to him, “I’m sorry.”
-☕-
“I feel like I’ve known you for all my life.” You muttered, your cheek pressed against Kang’s shirt clad bicep. The two of you were laying in your bed, wrapped in each other after a wonderful dinner and a couple of drinks.
The man under you hummed as his fingers traced nonsensical figures on your back, his eyes closed. “Maybe we knew each other in another life.” He murmured and you softly laughed at the absurdity.
“Yeah, maybe.” You teased, picking up your head to look up at him, “I wouldn’t think a scientist would believe in things like that.”
His eyes opened then and he shrugged, his gaze scanning over your face, “There’s many things in the cosmos we don’t have an answer to.” He replied in that all-knowing voice he has.
“So we’re soulmates or something?” You continued to jest, tracing the lines of his chest through his shirt. When you didn’t get a laugh you met his eyes again, finding them steady and unwavering. Your smile slowly faded and the expression on your face turned to one of silent confusion.
“Or something.” He uttered quietly.
You smiled back at him, brushing your thumb against his lips. “Y’know it’s kind’ve romantic when you think about it,” You whispered, tracing the features of his face, “Out of all the people, in all the universe, we find each other in every life. It’s a romantic thought, I think.”
“Souls intertwined,” Kang added, pressing his lips against your palm, “Like fibers in a quilt.”
“You speak so beautifully.” You sighed dreamily and he cracked a small smile, nuzzling his nose against yours.
“I’m only repeating what you so eloquently stated first, kitten.”
A shiver ran down your spine and you smiled, pecking his lips softly. “I love it when you call me that.”
Kang returned the peck with one of his own and another and another until your lips began to part and your tongues touched.
You wrapped your arms around his broad shoulders and he large hands roamed over your body, squeezing and groping.
You disconnected your lips, breathing heavily as you brushed your fingers against his cheek. “Please don’t make me wait again.” You begged, reaching down and palming his hard length in his pants. He sighed through his nose and you smiled, nuzzling your nose against his. “Please?”
“What do you want, hmm?” Kang questioned, thrusting his hips up to grind into your hand. “You want this big dick in you?”
“Yes.” You hiccuped with a pout, desperate to feel him for the first time.
Kang reached between the two of you and popped the button of your jeans, pulling down the zipper and sliding his hand in. He hummed as he pulled his fingers out, his face smug as he sucked you from them. “Lay down for me, pretty girl.”
You bit your lip and nodded, climbing off of him and laying down on your bed. He moved between your legs and lifted his shirt over his head, making you moan at the sight.
Kang tugged you toward him roughly, his meaty hands slipping underneath your shirt and inching it higher and higher, his lips pecking sloppily at the newly exposed skin. He lifted the shirt above your head quickly and was back on you, running his tongue along the skin just above the cups of your bra.
“Perfect.” He muttered against you, sucking a dark bruise onto your skin before pulling the cups down and dragging his tongue from peak to peak. He grunted against your chest, kissing his way down your abdomen until he got to the top of your jeans. He locked eyes with you and tugged them down, along with your panties.
Kang groaned as he spread your legs like he was in pain, biting his lips as he pawed at your thighs. “Look at you,” He rasped, pressing his lips against your knee, “All of this for me?”
You hummed with a nod, twitching as he lifted your lower half to his mouth, suspending your ass in the air as his thumb rubbed against your swollen clit. “Please.” You breathlessly begged, your body tensing as he smiled down at you.
He silenced your pleas with a peck on either side of your labia before running his tongue along your wet slit and ending with an indulgent suck on your clit. You cried out into the quiet of the room, your hands clenching your comforter as he sucked on your cunt like a peach, making obscene noises along the way.
“Kang.” You huffed, throwing your head to the side, “Please don’t stop-!”
A loud slurp interrupted your words and he smirked against you, filling you with the length of his tongue then spitting every back on your slit. “Why would I do that, my love?” He questioned smugly, slapping one of your ass cheeks and going back to his meal.
Your toes curled and you let out a desperate whine, shivers running through your body with every lick and suck. His tongue entered you again and this time he accompanied it by flicking his thumb over your clit. The noise you made was inhuman and the pressure in your abdomen was on the verge of being painful.
“Fuck,” You spat, clawing at the blanket, “I’m so close, so, so, close.” You clenched your teeth as he puckered his lips around your clit and slid two of his thick fingers inside of you, slowly dragging them in and out.
“I feel it, kitten,” Kang grunted, holding you up with his free hand, “You're squeezing my fingers so tight, how are you gonna fit my cock?” You shook your head, desperate tears falling from your eyes as your hips bucked on their own accord.
“Oh baby, don’t cry,” He cooed mockingly, quirking his fingers up, “I got you, I got you, I got you.” His hold tightened on your hip and you blubbered, feeling yourself clenching around his digits.
Your eyes rolled back in your head and your back arched tight like the string on a bow, your lips parted but nothing fell out of your mouth as something in you snapped. You distantly heard Kang’s voice above you but you couldn’t make out most of what he was saying but there was one word you heard loud and clear; “Mine.”
Your body was still wound up from your orgasm as he lowered you on the bed and began to unbuckle his belt, his eyes steady on yours. You reached out for him as he dropped his pants, his erection bulging from his boxers.
“C’mere.” Kang ordered and you did, crawling on your hands and knees to the edge of the bed. He tucked his fingers in boxers and slowly pulled them down, his thick dick bouncing free and curling upwards, the weight of it weighing itself down.
Your mouth watered and you wrapped your fingers around the base, feeling how heavy it was in your hand. You heard him hiss above you and he buried a hand in your hair. When you looked up he was gazing down at you with his jaw set and admiration in his eyes.
“Lay back.” He rasped, the hand in your hair releasing its grip as you obeyed, spreading your legs and watching as he moved between them, his cock hanging heavily.
Kang pressed his lips against yours and you surged forward, cupping his face in your hands and moaning as his bulbous dickhead poked at your entrance.
“Please,” You whispered against his lips, your thumbs brushing against his cheeks as you gazed into his eyes, “Please…”
“Anything.” He whispered back, pressing his forehead to yours, “I’d give you anything, always.”
Your heart fluttered at the sincerity in his voice and in that moment, as he breached your walls and filled you to the hilt of him, you thought that maybe soulmates did exist.
And that he was yours.

“Is this the end of the world?” You questioned, shifting in your chair.
You were seated in a dimly lit study with bookshelves against the walls and a heavy wooden desk in front of you. Seated behind that desk was a man and behind that man was a window overlooking the cosmos.
The man’s lips spread in a wide smile, placing his elbow on the desk and resting his chin in his hand. “Maybe.” He nearly sung and you furrowed your brows. “In a way.”
“In a way?” You repeated, alarmed at his teasing tone.
“In a way.” He repeated with a shrug, still grinning. “Could be the end of the world… could be the end of time… who’s to say?”
“What do you say?” You asked curiously, feeling a little like Alice.
“Well, who am I?”
You scoffed incredulously, crossing your arms over your chest. “You tell me. Who are you?”
The man let out a joyous laugh, leaning back in his chair, “You know who I am. Maybe not right at this moment, but… in another or the next one, or a week from now. You know who I am.”
“I’ll know who you are.” You tried to correct but his boisterous laugh threw you for a loop again.
The Mad Hatter’s smile shrunk a tad, a bit more genuine as he leaned across the desk and lowered his voice, “Once you know someone, they stay with you, from lifetime to lifetime, universe to universe… and the two of us, you and I, my dear, are ingrained in the fiber of each other like an old quilt.”
You blinked, thinking to yourself for a moment before speaking, “What’s a quilt?”
The man chuckled lowly, shaking his head as he thought to himself. “It’s kind of a blanket,” He answered, after a moment, “Patches sewn together to create a bigger blanket. The fibers are like cells, making up the entirety of the quilt.”
You hummed, your gaze drifting to the swirling cosmos. You took in the blues, silvers and golds, intertwining with each other and slowly mixing.
“That’s nice.” You whispered under your breath, looking back to the man to find him softly smiling at you.
“I think so.”
