Chapter Text
Dealing with all his clients, the Akademyia breathing down his back, and his roommate isn't anyone's idea of a fun time, mildly irritating most of the time.
However, dealing with all that with a headache is something else: you wake up in a bad mood, the pain worsens when you go about your day, and the mild irritation from the usual groups becomes infuriating. The mild aching behind his eyes and inside his brain is already enough to drive him insane. It hurts just thinking about it, so he banishes that thought.
He properly wakes up later than usual, and the dull pain is already there.
Great.
Going through his routine felt like hell and by the time he was finished, he felt like someone had numbed him to the senses of his entire body except the headache. His body felt heavy to him and he did not want to meet anyone today. Unfortunately, the universe hates him as he is met with his roommate, Alhaitham, on the couch. Putting down his book, mostly teal eyes meet his own scarlet ones and he stares back blankly.
Unspoken, the Scribe scoots over and offers him a place on the couch.
Slowly, Kaveh walks over and sits on it, draping himself over the armrest.
"Headache?" Alhaitham whispers, picking up his book again.
He nodded slowly before closing his eyes. He didn't feel like talking, but it seems as if nodding was the worse choice between the two options as the pain spiked from a 2 to a 4.
He distantly hears sighing and the dip in the couch next to him is gone. Before he is able to fully register that someone left, he is greeted with the sudden dizziness of being jostled.
Panicking a little at first, he grips the person tighter. It was an awkward shuffle, but the sounds of a door closing and the softness of his bed embrace him. He's half asleep by now, but he cannot deny the person's warmth. Against his now-pounding headache, he cracks open his eyes and identifies the person as Alhaitham. Weakly reaching for his retreating figure, he grabs onto Alhaitham's wrist and murmurs something before letting the darkness take over:
"Stay, please."
